Nothing is really good enough for most of you guys. They just made some RS-life altering changes to stop RWT. Then they pretty much say "we know this sucked, we're coming up with ideas to make things better" They announce a bunch of changes which ARE going to be a lot better, and everyone still complains. Nothing is good enough. I am EXTREMELY happy with the STEPS they're going to take to make the game even better.

He said the mods have it under control, so, leave it to them? ON TOPIC with this thread - That is some pretty cool stuff, I'm impressed :) Just don't expect too much feedback from people, I think for the most part people will give you the "too much time on your hands" crap.

I have been to a lot of bandos and Arma's since coming back to RS - and never gotten one item. I WAS thinking that was pretty bad... and a little frustrating, agrivating.. But.. I just realized. There are MUCH worse fates out there. Thanks for lifting my spirits through your downfall. If you're a good guy, that should mean something to you :) And GL on getting another one like that in the future, I'm sure you will... Just dont give up. :)

I think your question is a good one, I like the fact you're posing a question for us, and not choosing a side and shoving it down our throat. But I don't think you have it worded quite right - I don't think "kindness and fun" were "destroyed" and I don't think it was to "take out some selfish players and their suppliers" I'm not quite sure how to word it myself, but I think something along the lines of: Was it really worth it for Jagex to alter the way we PK (and the rewards we get from it), the way we trade and acquire money to prevent RWT (the stopping of players from abusing the game's mechanics, economy, and real players work ethics)? And my personal answer to this question? YES.

You're delusional. Free hint: even if RS is dead as far as you're concerned, that doesn't mean it is for anyone else. +1 here I believe "RS is dead for me" would probably be more fitting...

Yeah, it's pretty obvious you haven't used lootshare. Like stated above, all it simply does is announce who gets each item, and it's not based on who did the most damage, there's a "points" type of system. If someone keeps getting items, and the other guy doesn't, the other guy's chance for an item increases. Goes back and forth. Lootshare doesn't "split up" the money. I for one (sticking with this KQ example) have killed over 200 KQs with a friend of mine, we have yet to get one worthy drop. If the time finally comes, and HE gets a chain, what now? Do we pursue more until I get my own? There's a chance that I might get a d2h or something else like that - and then HE gets another chain. It is not guaranteed "splitting 50/50" or anything of that nature. So personally, I still will be team monster hunting, and I will be using lootshare come January (that is, if the drops aren't about 50/50 with a friend due to skill difference) - but, I hope hope that they will implement a new plan. They could tie lootshare in with GE - This idea has been brought out before. Something along the lines of whoever was in the clanchat and currently under the LS, when that item is sold on the GE, those people get their percentages. Something along this line - obviously more thorough than this, but something can be done, and I believe they will do something to tailor it to us monster hunters better. (and most importantly, not affecting the RWT changes that they've implemented)

Interesting that you'd bring up classic, a game RUINED by bots. I can still log into classic. The game was overrun by bots, RS2 was NOTHING compared to Classic. Most honest players stopped playing it, and were locked out when Jagex started the 6 month rule. Now I play a game with maybe 10 other humans, and the other 100 are ALL bots. The prices of botted resources are extremely low, and that's IF you can find a buyer. Seeing as it's the PKers that are running the bots. They aren't trying to ruin anything but RWT. If a player CHOOSE to make a certain account that exploited only PART of the game, it's THEIR problem when that part is changed and they are left high and dry. I'm lvl 123. I'm still playing, will I change how I play? Yes. Has Jagex ruined the game for me? NOPE. Rich people are still rich. It's STILL easy to make money in runescape. It's still easy to make a million or more a day relying on SKILLS alone. I've got 1920 skill total. The game isn't ruined for skillers. Still plenty of ways to make money. And it hasn't done anything to the RWT? Check out ANY F2P world. If you refuse to see the MASS reduction in bots there then there's nothing we can do for you. This update has done exactly what Jagex said it would, made it unprofitable for RWT to run dozens of bots at a time. Quality - Pure quality. I have found my new intellectual man-crush!

Being developers of this type of massive game isn't easy - there's ALWAYS going to be people like you who don't agree with everything, and because you don't agree, you label stupidity. Well, I label you STUPIDER (oh yeah, look it up!) It seems like they're trying to write off pures, high levels, rich people, and skillers? What the hell are you smoking? You just said you're a skiller and it doesn't effect you. And I consider myself to be "rich" and nothing is ruined for me... since I will give them TIME to adapt and tweak their new changes, unlike some over-reacting people. Hasn't done anything to RWT? For the amount of money and experience you seem to have, this seems like a fairly good idea. You'll soon be able to start doing it with more numbers, making even more money, and then be able to move on to something with bigger profits. I say go for it.

You guys don't seem to frickin get it. There's always going to be ways around COMPLETELY stopping RWT. But if you make the masses not want to do it - if you make it highly unprofitable in comparison to other games, they will move on. Which they're doing. There are a lot of ways to ban bots, and to ban RWT accounts (like if you give someone your pass and they work it for you)... Jagex said they simply couldn't keep up with the new accounts being built and botting for resources (for instance, building a level 60 char to kill greens takes hours, not days) - there's a big difference between resources botting and account building. I don't doubt these types of accounts won't be banned or found easily. But yeah, these updates... definatly are pathetic....its so funny...

Wow, just about everyone off topic. I plan on doing what I always do, slayer, random favorite monsters, team monster hunting, and mainly barrows. I've made a good percentage of my money from barrows... and I see no reason why that'd change.

Doing all of those things is still good, even ftp pk. Also, toss in GWD.

I really don't agree with this system too much, I'm not sure why, just doesn't seem that welcoming to me.. But, I do commend you very much on trying to come up with a solution while still keeping RWT in tact. (You attempted, at least) The comment about the childish thing, a little unfair, I guess. Impatient, and maybe a little over-reacting perhaps, but not exactly childish...
