  1. I already make RPGs with more depth and adaptability than anything RPG Maker could ever be used to come up with. And I don't have to wade through tutorials and code to do it.
  2. I said not to use Runescape as a reference if you want to do anything that doesn't look ridiculous.
  3. Something like that. I drew it in about a minute.
  4. Hey, guess what? Piss off. If he wants you to talk about how Blender is better than Maya (it isn't), then he'll ask you to. If you're just going to spam about it, do it in another thread. On-topic: Not a very good render. Here are a few points on sword construction you may want to know about: Hilt - A sword with a blade as curved as a scimitar shouldn't have a perfectly straight grip. In fact, it should almost form a lopsided S shape relative to the blade, in order to balance the weapon while swinging. The crossguard should also be accordingly asymmetrical. Also, it lacks a pommel. Blade - It's too thick. That is the sort of blade you want to see on a glaive or a cleaver, not a scimitar. Make it thinner. It should realistically be able to have a smooth transition from the tang to the blade itself, which means it shouldn't be much thicker than the grip. It doesn't look particularly sharp, either. In fact, it looks like a flattened red banana. Try looking at reference pictures first next time. Relying on Runescape for graphical representations isn't a good idea.
  5. Homicide will solve your problems.
  6. Phasers are variable yield weapons and require particular frequencies. A railgun does not care about frequencies. Hell, ST wouldn't have so much problem with the Borg if they had a shred of sense and actually used KE penetrators rather than sticking to energy weapons.

I kid you not, I saw some chick at uni wearing shorts that barely went below her hips. It's almost winter here. Now, I've got no problem with sexy legs, but if the owner of those legs is going to freeze to death and I won't get to see them outside of a morgue, then no thanks.
  8. She has no forehead. =\
  9. Oh, yeah, I still do that Dungeons and Dragons thing. Here's a bunch of characters I just threw together on Photoshop to see what I could come up with as visuals for my setting material: From left to right: Dwarven runepriest of Moradin, Amardian paladin of Andur, Dramaskan musketeer, half-Elf, northern Elf, Gnome pathfinder. And there's also a deviantArt link for those interested in that sort of thing. Comments, please.
  10. It's not that we don't have the technology, it's just that we don't have the infrastructure to implement the tech base we have to send a probe to check out the planet in a sane period of time. Note - a probe. We're not about to send a manned mission without knowing if there's actually any point in doing so. Also, where we are now, it may take about three hundred years for a probe to reach the planet. Maybe in a hundred years or so, we could have the technology to build a probe that will reach it in a hundred, or maybe even fifty. It's worth a wait. Oh, and also, since it's a potentially habitable planet, this is sort of obligatory... For the glory of the Imperium, claim it in the name of the Emperor!
  11. Air of Enchantment is still pretty damn useful. Also, Spirit Bond is great for catching [bleep]es in and out of GVG. Dwayna's Sorrow is indispensable for minion bombers. Gift of Health is still useful on prot monks, Healing Light and Healing Whisper are great for PVE work, Resurrection Chant sees a lot of use in GVG, and Extinguish is still useful even after the nerfs it suffered. Kirin's Wrath is great to double up with Symbol of Wrath on a smiting monk, especially in AB and other undead-heavy areas, and Life Sheath remains useful in PVE. And Zealous Benediction is pretty easy to interrupt with a decent ranger or mesmer.
  12. I wouldn't really care. I can count the number of times I actually see my desktop background on a regular day on one hand. This is taking into account that I'm on the computer for at least five hours a day.
  13. Sweet mecha-Nazi Jesus. You're thick. What you played was FFIII(US), also known as FFVI(JP). FFIII(JP) is this: Obviously without the stupid names that whoever was playing it put there.
  14. I can do passable... Indian, Cockney, Irish, German, Spanish, Italian, Russian, Vietnamese, Hong Kong, Singaporean, Redneck, Aussie and Kiwi accents. But I can't for the life of me figure out how to do a Filipino accent.
  15. You will find that Bruce Lee is infinitely more awesome than Chuck Norris, if you would only clear away all the fan[bleep]ery around the latter.
  16. Starcraft Dawn of War Company of Heroes Total Annihilation Supreme Commander Mechcommander Age of Empires Total War series
  17. Why would a small village have a duke? Why is the duke royalty without being a prince? How was he renowned if he was doing such a poor job? The story exposition is really poorly thought out and lacks pace. It doesn't do anything to draw the reader in and make them want to read more.
  18. Sad. Ratting on your own kid to the police. Yes and no. It was the right thing to do as far as an ethically-minded member of society is concerned. However, as a parent, she should have disciplined the everliving crap out of the moron.
  19. Well, then it's a question of semantics. You never said that he was buying them from a second-hand bookstore.
  20. I have a friend who buys textbooks from a local bookstore and resells them to college student to make 100% profit on every book he makes. If he bought from the distributor instead of the bookstore, he would be paying more for the books than he is able to turn around and sell them for currently. So how do you propose your solution would make more money? Buy from the wholesaler. Also, "merchant" is not a bloody verb.
  21. You forgot to add a section on pacing and suspension of disbelief. Personal styles are all well and good, but that doesn't stop some styles being flat out inappropriate for prose. A lot of the stuff here lacks structure and is simply too hard to take seriously.
  22. There was a shooting at Monash University here in Australia some time ago. The gunman managed to kill a couple of people before some bloke tackled him and beat the everliving crap out of the poor sod. Why don't people in America do that? It boggles the mind. The best way to deal with a lone gunman is to rush him with a group.
  23. Well, personally, I'd consider Ravens' Cabal to be low fantasy. =P I really should find the time to write something suitably epic.

Have you ever bumped into a friggin' banyan tree at night? That's pretty bloody scary.
