  1. I never said I didn't like the quote, I just hate the color. It burns my eyes. to Danno385: Banned for making me start a new page.
  2. How about reading the first post and a few other posts of the thread so you know how to play? \ You have to take the last letter of the song, not the artist. I'll just go off of aquariusman and say by Toby Turner I'd say you should use "Y" as the beginning letter, but E would also work.
  3. Even more proof your best friend didn't post. rushrock (or wizzkid785) *posted wizz so he wouldn't post because it seems he never posts when his name is said. Just testing my theory.
  4. Granted, but you sleep your vacations away and miss out on all the fun. I wish I had more RAM and a faster processor for my laptop (and maybe one of those new external graphics cards I've been reading about).

  10. I can't tell if it's a yes or a no....For one, the first 2 letters are ur, not my...Second, its ei NOT ie...So, I'd have to go with a no due to technical inaccuracies which would lead to an entirely new person/thing. rushrock
  11. Banned because the quote in your signature is in a near-unreadable red text.
  12. Someone doesn't browse Off Topic.... There was a thread that had some content that was "questionable" at best, and some of the topics within used terms some people weren't familiar with, so naturally some had to look it up. The OP of this thread wants to know how to delete all traces of these terms (think about /d/ in 4chan and you may get what some of the things brought up were, unless you don't use 4chan). It's nothing illegal or bad, just possibly disturbing. And I'll agree with sloter. There really isn't a way to hide it. You can clear history and delete the cache and all that fun stuff, but there are still ways to retrieve it, although if it's just family members you're worried about, clearing out those things is usually sufficient, and the data should be overwritten within a few days. The only sure way to completely erase data on a hard drive is to physically destroy the hard drive to a point where it's more a chunky powder than a functioning device (even programs like DBAN have been undone, although it's rather difficult to do so, especially if it's run multiple times). Then you also have to somehow hack into the servers for wherever you searched (like google or urbandictionary) and destroy all data relevant to you...Yeah..it's tough to live undetected. I would say just clear everything (Firefox - Tools, Options, Privacy (tab), Clear Now (at the bottom)). Then do a decent amount of browsing on normal sites (like tipit or instructables, something constructive and safe), then maybe clear a few more times, and repeat until the data has been overwritten enough times (provided it writes to the same place every time, which I think it does).
  13. I usually get 6-7 hours of sleep during the school week. During vacation, I'll get anywhere from 4-20 hours of sleep, usually around 10-12 though. I've been trying to get back to a regular sleep schedule, like sleeping around 10-11 and waking up around 7-8, and it worked for about a week, then I started to sleep more sporadically again, like going to sleep around 4 and waking up at like 3. I can do pretty well on low amounts of sleep, like I feel better when I get 7 or less hours of sleep, but I just can't do it for that long. After maybe a school week of going to sleep at around 1-2am and waking up at 7am, by the weekend I'm down for 12+ hours, which just makes me feel more tired. I hate it.
  14. Maybe we should make this like a co-op game, where everyone posts what they did and what score they got, until we breed a super-virus, that we can name TIF or something. That would be awesome. Best score I've gotten on relaxed is 86k, with 4 countries left uninfected. Got everywhere except NZ, Brazil, and Indonesia and got 72k....Infectivity is such a pain to do, guess more playing with symptoms is needed, because resistance does nothing for me lol. Man I love this game.
  15. That's pretty much how I got my copy of CS3  If that does end up happening, congratulations to you. I haven't been able to find a safe copy of even a trial downloader for PS7 so hopefully you can get CS3 without a problem. pyromancer, assumptions can lead to very bad things. Google is your friend (I just happened to have removed WOT recently so I knew what it was right off). And I'll just second the part about the installer being legal.
  16. I don't think you can do it if you haven't enabled disc mode on the iPod. If you have, I found a guide that may be of some help. Enabled Disc Mode (recommended to read second) A bit more research, and I believe this guide allows you to access your songs if you haven't enabled disc mode. Recommend read first Don't download any more songs, and try not to sync your ipod because that will probably erase your library and leave you with a blank ipod and library.
  17. Everyone seems to have a problem with madagascar and NZ, but I've managed to kill off both in relaxed mode (NZ was the first to go though). I never did get to Greenland or Europe. And Australia seems to be impervious. Well, I've added it to my bookmarks toolbar, so world domination should be mine soon! Bwuahahaha! Thanks to the OP for letting us all know about this game. Seems like a really good time killer. Nothing like watching 10 countries fall in 3 days, and watching the US, China, and Russia crumble in the same day was just magic. Didn't think Russia would fall that easily.
  18. Apparently you haven't read many books. Hell, even Harry Potter, as dull as the books were, kept me reading because I wanted to see who won and how, and what happened to everyone (although the ending was rather predictable, she still managed to make me read all 7 books, though I only bought 2, read the rest from friends or at Books-A-Million, a 5 minute walk from my house). Although Stephen King wrote some amazing books, there are many authors out there that do the same. Terry Goodkind did a fantastic job with this, as did Philip Pullman (I just picked these two because a lot of people seem to know who they are, at least on this thread). OT, does anyone have any recommendations for medieval times? Anything about like Ancient Greece, or the Roman Empire (both the rise and fall). You know, Caesar, Alexander the Great, all that good stuff, going maybe into the Renaissance. I'd love to read a bit more into the crusades. The problem with books like this is, it's hard to read them without thinking I'm back in 5th grade reading from some standard history textbook that's taught me nothing and served more as a pillow than a book. A book like The Last of the Wine by Mary Renault would be good (an amazing read, even for people who aren't quite history buffs, although it is a bit [lot] mature). Even something like To Kill a Mockingbird, or Night by Elie Weisel (sp?), that teaches history through a story. Also, has anyone ever read Dante's Inferno, and if so, is it really an amazing book? And how hard is it to read? I've been wanting to read it but before I go and buy or search for it, I'd like to know if it's worth the money, and if I can even read it in the first place.

My parents hate doing jury duty. They say it pays barely enough to drive down there and back, let alone cover a days worth of wages. I wouldn't mind sitting on a jury. I've have the pleasure to serve as part of one in two mock trials, one for English (we were deciding a punishment for a character, I believe it was based on Lord of the Flies), the other for History (again, putting a ruler on trial, but this was more in-depth). I enjoyed both of those, and it wasn't just a five-minute ordeal, both took at minimum 3 days (the history one took a week), it was really well done for a 9th and 10th grade project (respectively). I think I would do well serving on a jury, probably be like Lois from Malcolm in the Middle (for anyone not familiar, she stops everyone from just voting for a conviction and ends up getting them to actually consider the facts after some long arguments with the other members of the jury). It's not exactly easy, especially if you have people who don't care, and it's not worth the time lost (especially if you have to skip a class or something that has more than just monetary value).
  20. Man, this thread is awesome. I've gotten a nice few ideas from these past 3 pages. And I would have to agree with rushrock, I expected more out of you Lenin. I can see how it worked and why you did it, but I just thought it would be a bit more spectacular. I'm a bad one for revenge. I've done everything from physical confrontations to mind games, to complete sabotoge. As a final revenge for a school I absolutely hated (well, not final, I'm still saving up money for that), I managed to magnetize 5-6 computers (screens and anything else I could get close enough to), along with humiliating the principal and serving more time in ISS in one year than I believe anyone had in the history of the school...It was bad there, and I wasn't dealing with it. Towards the end of the year, people stopped messing with me...or mostly after I flipped a kid off the raised-sidewalk [it was like a sidewalk a foot or two off the ground that surrounded the (private) school, that acted as a walkway to classes] and into a tree, which got me a week of ISS (they knew out of school suspension would just be a vacation). Man I hate that school even today, 5 years after I left. One day in 8th grade, towards the end of the year, I just absolutely lost it on a kid. The whole class (my class was 10 or so people, but the "delta [4th grade and above] class" was around 100, and I got it bad from 6-8 from almost everyone. Well, one kid just kept saying [cabbage] to/about me, and we were helping set up a volleyball court...They trusted me with hammering in the stakes, which was a bad idea later...Well, he was on the other side of the "court" [which was strings tied to stakes stuck in the ground], and I heard things like "[wagon] can't even make a straight line", which I just lost it. Lobbed this small hammer, wasn't even heavy at him, and it spun in a near perfect line, right where I aimed...Had he not turned at the last second, he wouldn't be able to have kids...I left a mark on his thigh for around 5 months before it started to go away... I ran under the portables and hid until someone found me (there was nowhere else to go, it's a small private school near a residential neighborhood, and a cop who lived not too far down the street, so don't judge my choice of hiding). I was found in about 20 minutes, and was threatened with all sorts of things. I was suspended indefinately, faced with expulsion, attempted murder, aggrivated assault, and a few other charges. Everything was dropped thanks to my mom explaining our situation at home (which is still abysmal, but a bit better than it was back then), and my agreement to go to a psychologist and an anger management specialist, and I got a 1 day suspension. I hold the record for the worst behavior at that school too. Highschool has been fine for me though. Of course there's the occasional verbal conflict, and threats made (occasionally marrying face to wall/desk), and all that, but it's nothing serious.. The worse thing I've done so far is threaten a kid with my bike lock (which is about an inch or more thick....image of it) by taking a swing at him. That and a cop threatened to give me a ticket for riding my bike without a helmet...I walked it across the street, and, making sure he was still watching, got on and rode off. He didn't do anything though. I also specialize in computer pranks for revenge. Changing windows sounds to those of a sexual nature, or assorted screamer sounds (the image gives it more effect, but there's nothing like booting up your computer in the morning with the speakers up, and hearing "RAAAAARRRRGGGGHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!" when you expect something more calm)...I've been known to hack a myspace profile or two and nobody lets me use their phone anymore unless they are there to monitor me....Oh, and batch files are fun too. I'm generally a rather funny, relaxed person, but I have a short fuse and I tend to bottle things up (which is a bad habit and something I can't seem to break), so if someone lights the fuse, the [cabbage] hits the fan (or the valve stem remover hits the tire) pretty fast...Plus, my dad drives a tow truck that he keeps at the house. I know most tow truck drivers, cops (my aunt was a detective, my uncle the head of the local jail and he's running for sheriff), and a few repo men..which comes in handy.
  21. pyromancer, WOT isn't a torrent site, far from it actually. It's a Firefox addon that rates sites from green to red (similar to the terror ratings by the US Government). It's pretty much another version of SiteAdvisor (though I prefer SiteAdvisor because of the comments and some other factors). WOT stands for Web Of Trust, and it's a pretty good add-on from what I've heard, and experienced. Did a quick search, and found the link to the addon: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/3456 And I did some searching last night for a trial version, and I had no luck, or at least I didn't find anything from a reliable search. I'm sure there are torrents of it out there, but I don't trust torrent sites in the first place, let alone the pirated and often malware-laden downloads they contain. Plus, Tip.It doesn't condone torrents (as pyromancer has stated above), so even if I did find one, I couldn't tell you (although something that big and popular, the chances of a virus are a near certainty IMHO).
  22. Bloody hell...if you survive an 18 mile freefall with no damage, you're a god...but I need my right arm because my left arm is pretty much useless...so I'll take the flop.. And the reference was from the Sword of Truth series, the first is the second (i think) step in a Mord Sith's training, and the second option is the final part of their training. Hmm...WYR never be able to eat restaurant food again, or never able to eat home-cooked meals again?
