  1. OK so they've dangled the carrot last Saturday evening and had us all guessing ever since. PLUS they have kept us waiting for a further week. This gives them the opportunity to repeat the 'unleashing of the strange power' and so satisfy those who missed the experience. Saturday 19:45 hrs anyone?
  2. In the middle of Nomad's Requiem you meet an injured knight next to the arcane door who says "only the pious shall pass" Indiana Jones and the last crusade has the same scene when the knight guarding the entrance says "only the rightious shall pass" or something similar.
  3. The event only happended once on Saturday evening right? I was in Varrock bank and there was a rumbling noise, I seem to recall that the 'earth' shook and we were levitated up into the air and performed a kind of 'Jump For joy' emote. I didn't really see the red shadowy bits and I missed the message because of all the "WTF's". I thought I landed facing North-West. Anyways, it was some sort of 'awakening' which explains why it has only happened once and whoever has woken up and caused the power surge throughout RS Land will shortly be revealed. That's my two-pennies-worth....
  4. Thanks for the whip info' peeps  Maybe the (temporary) price hike was because the fashionistas amongst us wanted one of each colour to suit a partcular cape, so demand went up a bit. As for speedy weps, the whip is good for attack and defence training and of course the Sara Sword matches it for speed and gives us an equal for strength training. I'm yet to handle a trident...... IOM I like the new whip colours. Perhaps a little contrived of JaGex to get ppl playing BA again but fairy-nuff, the whips have never been 'that' impressive to look at before now - hence the regular tweeks in appearance.
  5. I'm sure I've read an article regarding the changes (again) to the whip colours, but I can't find it now. Anyways, so far I have seen a Grey & White, Red & Black and last night a Blue & Grey, which looked well cool. My topic for discussion is what other colours have you seen and do you think the differentiation is responsible for the recent hike in whip prices? I also ask for your thoughts as to whether some colours are rarer than others leadng to potential rarity values and the categorisation of colours in the GE?
  6. 1st time I took all Rocktails and ran out of food half way through 2nd time I hid behind the wrong pillar and got hit for 66 3rd time I had him down to zerker stage, hesitated and he healed back up 4th time I wasn't fully behind the pillar and got hit another 60+ 5th time I got him with 4 brews and 2 restores left, W00T! Each time (after the first) I was comfortably in control with lots of health and brews left, just silly mistakes for fail. 1. To avoid the 75 hits, you have to hide behind the pillar in line with the throne, not the one further down 2. I used Redemption prayer when he hit HP+1. Brought HP back up to 29 each time 3. I hid when the clones came out. Takes a full 60 seconds for them to tele but you can recover health, drop pots, take BOB, calm down! in that time 4. In the end it's just a matter of attrition, to wear him down by degrees. My gear: Neit helm Fury Arma top (D.Hide for first couple of tries but Arma gives more mage def) Arma legs (D.Hide for first couple of tries but Arma gives more mage def) D Boots Def Cape Barrows Gloves Archer ring Holy Book Rune XBow Ruby bolts (e) / switch to Diamond bolts (e) when frozen Zammy spear (set to stab) when reaching zerker stage My inv: 11 Super Restores 1 Range pot Rest brews in Tort as well. My tactics: Range with eagle eye and steel skin on quick pray as soon as he jumps off the throne "lets make things interesting" run south then west. Stop. move to second pillar. He comes over, range away. "you cannot escape my wrath" move to next pillar in line with throne. Pot up, drop pots, take BOB. *splash* Move to centre, range away. "lets test your senses" "scourge of souls.." get behind any pillar ASAP. Wait..... switch off pray, pot up, drop empties, take BOB, calm nerves... wait.... Clones tele away run to him, range away. Teles you to centre: switch to diamond bolts, pot up to full HP, redemption on, keep firing.....BAM! HP+1.... pot up, switch back to Ruby, pray back on, keep firing and so it goes for several rounds. "Enough! let's finish this" switch out to spear, auto retaliate ON, piety and prot mellee ON, pot when health drops to 40-ish Just keep a finger on the pot and watch health. Spear was hitting 12's and 15's regularly. (Spec' doesn't work. 'Too big to push back') Job done! Hope this helps..... Good luck to all!
  7. Great post Shadow, I beat him 5th try. 8. How about "Troll"? Seriously, have a day off.... OT: I'm personally looking forward to what this has to offer
  9. Thanks man I'm going in.... I may be gone a while...
  10. Gratz Dude, you went toe to toe with him and came out on top!
  11. What happened to your affinity for reasoned debate? I've read all 30 pages of this post and most of it is either helpful or insightful in keeping with TIFer community - with the exception of your input which after several pages I scroll over becuse i cba with your baiting. Oh please, give it a rest..... OT: *My opinion* I think we're missing a trick here, a trick which hasn't been discovered. In a day or two, someone will latch upon the easiest method without the need for a CB level of 130+ and Herb 92+ Jagex suggested CB Stats of 85+ and prayer of 70+ Now bear that in mind when it comes to the last fight. It seems only the highest CB skillers are the ones who are succeeding here and with some difficulty. (it's ok, I haven't overlooked the odd lucky player with less CB lvl). I cannot believe it was Jagex intention to alienate everyone else from QC status. Maybe we shold start a new post called "Best ways to beat Nomad" and pool our information.
  12. Looks good to me  Got the levels, so here goes......
  13. Nice find Ermin
  14. This raises an interesting question -- will it replace more conventional weapons for dagganoth hunting? I don't know anyone who uses keris to kill kalphites. Frankly, the only reason I keep keris at all is that I think it's the best-looking weapon in the game. This axe won't win any awards for its looks. So will this axe be stowed away in banks and never used like keris? Or are the bonuses so huge that someone would be crazy to use something like a whip instead? Can't wait to try the new axe. BTW I love Keris, which I've P++ even if it's just for a different wep to use for a change.
  15. "active game player rescues our cliff imp" first letter from each word: A G P R O C I A GP (1 GP) ROCI ?? Dunno #-o
  16. Same emote as last year? How very disappointing........
  17. Omali & SkillzFTW. Congratulations. You have reached Level 99 in Bickering.... I'll chip in with Backstabbing.
  18. I like this idea, but the alch values should closer reflect the actual GE values IMO. Note to self: never enter cave horror dungeon without a light source. :wall:
  19. Time to switch to herbs methinks
  20. This quest offered no advance to the storyline IMO. Just a filler. And Rach' U bin smokin erbs again?
  21. Great Quest requirements. One more w/c level and i'm on it
  22. Little off topic but Pre GE herblore was profitable with a little patience. I sold all of my pots through forum and w2. 100 minimum, 1000 mostly, to hard core pkrs & monsterhunters. Average profit/potion varied between 250gp and 3k. Because I did my own herbfarming, my profits were even better. GE killed herblore....... +1 =D> I totally agree. GE And removal of the wildy killed herblore. People ask me how u make ur money? I say herblore, they say WTF? Then I reminisce, buying unids and selling super sets. (ah the nostalgia <3: ) I used to make up to 3m per night. Anyways, OT. I made some extreme attack and strength and used them against Abby Demons. My max hit on those was about 35/36 with whip and defender and super pots. Using extreme pots, I managed one whopping 37 in a 160 task! Pfft! not impressed. I think they may have a place for appropriate monsters - Abby Demons a case in point 'cos of their high defence, but I need more data to test their true worth. For sure, if wildy was still there I'd be 99 herb by now, but hey-. Oh and why can't you sell Super 'Sets' in GE? Condensing my point, if you train smart you deserve the rewards IMO. Also: why is my siggy showing 1's?? anyone??
  23. Agree'd. I read the first account, but it would've been more interesting if they'd come back with some Jagex nuggets. Damn NDA. I couldn't have gone because I can't keep a secret to save my life, like when Racheya had a drunken girl on girl all night love fest. ... oops. :-# Photos?
  24. OK, so far we have suggestions like: 1. 'Noble Savage' - Boosts prayer points. (King giovas) 2. 'Greed' - Increases drop potential (Kalafai) 3. 'Bless crops' - Increases crop yield helps prevent disease. (Lielac) 4. 'Autobury' - Automatically buries bones. (Stellactic) I have one similar to Soul Wars, burying bones adds prayer points. # BTW does anyone know why my siggy is showing 1's? #-o
