That depends on how much you are willing to spend.

If you were the perfect version of yourself...

Drumming is nothing more than muscle memory. You just have to teach your muscles to do it! :P -
That's just foolish, why would you want to do that when it can hurt others and yourself? I don't understand how my not voting hurts anyone else in any way. And it is not foolish. The only candidates I have ever seriously considered voting for were Independents that would garner less than 5% of the popular vote. No matter how hard they try, the big fundraisers from the GOP and DFL are always going to win the popular vote. Hell, even Ron Paul got smart and is now running on the GOP ticket. I don't agree with what the GOP or DFL represent and I will not vote for them. In my opinion, to vote for something you don't believe in seems a much more foolish endeavor than abstaining for clear and concise reasons. To quote Rush (yes, Rush) "If you choose not to decide you still have made a choice." My choice is to stay away from the sideshow that is the American political theater.

This blew my mind today when I heard about it today. At least NINE cases of slavery that were prosecuted in Florida alone between 1997-2010.

Don't tell me my conscience won't be affected. It will. There is no evil that will be good for me. I'm sorry, you're not going to convince me of that.

In 2008 I didn't vote because we all knew Obama was gonna landslide it. That was my first year of eligible voting. Next year I am considering voting against the Republican candidate because none of them are worth it. Bachmann is from the district I go to college and she is a nut case. I will vote against her. But at the same time, how can I vote for Obama if I disagree with the way he runs the country? It doesn't make any sense to vote for someone just because they are the lesser of two evils. Either way, I am still choosing an evil. I would rather have a clean conscious by not voting, knowing that I had no part in putting someone in office who is doing detriment to this country.

You're missing the point bro. It's not about having someone who will meet your exact political beliefs, because the people that are currently running for office are at least 20 years older than you. None of them will have your identical beliefs because they were raised in a completely different time. What you should do is vote for the person who comes the closest. After all, someone is going to be elected whether or not you cast a vote, so you might as well do your best to make sure it's the person most tolerable from your point of view. I don't believe that at all. And yes I do understand the point, bro. What I should do is vote for the person with who I am comfortable holding office. If I am not comfortable with any of the candidates, I am not going to vote for someone who I think will do a bad job. Most elections I feel (like the creators of South Park) like my choices are between a Giant Douche and a Turd Sandwich. Why should I choose a candidate that I don't agree with just to cast a vote? If I have a right to do something, I also have a right to not do it as well. Edit: And you missed the part of my second post where I said I would vote for someone who was relatively close. I'm not looking for my political soulmate, just someone who doesn't completely suck.

I won't lie, I thought Mean Girls was hilarious and I still do. Movies you need to see: Lawrence of Arabia The Shawshank Redemption Old Boy Casablanca The Graduate Chinatown The Deer Hunter Network Do the Right Thing Goodfellas 12 Angry Men Apocalypse Now Just a few off the top of my head, there are many, many more obscure movies I could list but these are the big names I think everyone needs to see.

Probably came to one of the fireworks stores in WI I worked at :P Or went to North Dakota if you guys live on the western part of the state.

You could always spoil your ballot to make a point. I'd vote for a candidate that was relatively close, but I have yet to see one. If Russ Feingold runs for the WI Senate seat again, I'd vote for him. Depending on who the Republican nominee is in 2012, I would vote against the Republican party. In order for it to make a difference though, it would have to be for Obama which sucks because I don't really trust him. Or I could just write in Santa Claus heh.

In three years of having the ability, I have yet to vote. I can't bring myself to vote for a person that I do not completely agree with. As much as Ron Paul seems to know what he's doing, the thought of him in office makes me a bit leery. I don't know if I trust his policies that much and I don't think that Congress will go along with a lot of them if any.

This, totally. I feel like such a dumb American for only knowing English. -
It's pay day!! Oh, and on Wednesday I fueled up before driving to the A Perfect Circle concert and put in a full tank of gas (just over $40) by paying at the pump. I've been checking my bank statements and the only charge from the gas station is a $1 charge. I don't know if the other $39 is going to show up eventually but as of now I got a $1 tank of gas. I don't think anyone has got a $1 tank of gas since the '20s

Dag. I'd love a pair of those, but I don't have $250 to spend on headphones. :( They're $90 on Amazon and you won't regret a single penny :P

This seems like a genuinely good idea. I'm not really into clans but hopefully those that are have a good time with them :-P

Let's reverse the roles. What would you do if an extremely well-figured woman stripped in front of you and a bunch of guys at a party? You'd oggle and stare just the same ;) Just delete him from Facebook and stop partying with him.

I agree with you that we need to learn more about ourselves, but that will not come from a revamping of the judicial system. The judicial system reacts to what the people believe is just. Laws are voted on and passed and twenty years later repealed. They are not designed to be cutting edge and it is not plausible for them to be so. And just so we're clear, pragmatic =/= stagnant as you seem to be implying. Idealism allows us to dream of a perfect world but pragmatism allows us to use the tools we are given to create the best possible situation for the largest amount of people. Medieval-style trials were only a representation of what the general population assumed to be just.

I'm not arguing that we should allow for mistakes to be made, but loopholes that the prosecution or defense can exploit to allow their client to go free or put another person's client behind bars will always exist. You're right, those are subjective terms, but we also have thousands if not millions of previous court cases (many of which are going to be similar to modern cases) to set precedence. We also have hundreds of years of experience using a judicial system. The courts are designed to benefit the most amount of people they possibly can. There are far too many variables in humans for any sort of judicial system to be perfect. It's at times like this where you have to take a pragmatic viewpoint instead of an idealistic viewpoint.

I will never buy a pair of earbuds again. Thanks to Ruerin's suggestion I had my Mother buy these bad boys for my birthday last year: http://www.amazon.com.....MS0XU If you are at all serious about listening to music, a pair of hi-fi headphones are a must!
