  1. Mark my words... write this down somewhere, folks, and feel free to hit me over the head with it later. In a few months, Summoning will completely change this game. The monsters and effects that right now seem "useless" to some people will be exploited and good uses for them found by those who are more creative. And then others will copy them. You'll see.
  2. I will be stunned if that does not turn out to have been a typo. Don't get your hopes up.
  3. Had they not done that, it would have unbalanced every monster in the game. And made Summoning too powerful.
  4. If you're smart, you'll learn ways of getting charms that include other drops to help pay for the shards. If you're dumb, you'll try to power-level a skill NOT designed to be power-leveled, and waste a ton of money doing it. It's GOOD for there to be things to spend money on in this game aside from stupid hats.
  5. So far I tend to agree. And the more people complain that they can't power it to 99 in a week, the more I like it.
  6. Monkeys banging on a calculator could do a better job of choosing prices.
  7. Thanks for finding this for me.. I appreciate it.
  8. I just heard the same in a mates clan chat, I'll try and find them to see if I can confirm it. EDIT: Yep, my first kill dropped 10. I'll try killing a few more to check how common they are. Bloody slow with melee though, I'd advise mage if you plan heading there. Confirmed. And yes, meleeing them is impossibly slow even with great equipment and high stats.
  9. Considering even granite crabs only give 21 exp, that's not really that good at all. At that rate, we're looking at a skill that's twice as slow to train than RuneCrafting. Yeah there are pouches that get great exp at higher levels, but require charms that seem to be very uncommon drops. If you look at all the inv pics of people hunting for them, you'll see quite a few (though still only worth one trip to the obelisk...) gold charms and like one of each of the others. I meant that it is good relative to many other monsters I've tried.
  10. yes but only one per kill. If it's really 80% that is quite good. If you want more than 1 per kill you gotta fight tougher beasties.
  11. They drop them 80% of the time? That's pretty good.
  12. Love the key stats in the corner. Why not let us click on the boot to turn run on/off? :)
  13. Higher level monsters drop more than one at a time.
  14. for someone who is against merchanting and such...i hardly feel he's after profits... You must be a media major. You took my whole post out of context. Read his original post. He is upset because he can't sell it for a higher price. Which indicates to me that he is upset that he can't make money. And that comment indicates that you don't really understand what my complaint is at all.
  15. Because it's not fair to those who make the items OR those who want to buy them. And because they said they wouldn't do this. :wall:
  16. Yes, heaven forbid that people should be FREE to decide their own prices for things. For people to agree on mutually acceptable terms. No, we are all sheep and need Jagex to tell us how much to buy and sell things for. Never mind that 225 gp doesn't even cover the COST of making a pouch!
  17. I guess this is why Jagex lies and control-freaks everything... players are such sheeple that they let them get away with it. Sad.
  18. I expected them to do what they SAID they were going to do, and let PLAYERS decide the prices instead of pulling ridiculous numbers out of their derrieres.
  19. Okay, so you like having the terms of everything you do dictated to you by Mommy. Some people don't.
  20. We were told that new items would trade without restrictions. I made some granite crab pouches... brand new item, lots of demand... and some idiot at Jagex decided to fix the price of them at ****225**** gp. Ridiculous. Signature is too large in file size -BlueLancer
  21. Newsflash: if you ain't paying, you ain't a customer. You're a whiny freeloader.
  22. What happened to "new items will trade on the GE without price controls"? Jagex might as well give up on any remaining pretense of this being a player-controlled economy.
  23. This was actually pretty smart of them. Had they not done this, they'd have had to rebalance *every* monster in the game.
  24. It's price manipulation because of the busted Grand Excrement. We've seen it in countless other items and it won't stop until Jagex fixes the GE.
  25. No, it doesn't. You're being far too literal.. just like when Jagex said in a BTS "hold onto your Robin Hood hats" and people started assuming this meant they would be discontinued. Or the people who read Jagex saying something is coming out "in three weeks" and assume that means three weeks to the day from the announcement. A "combat area" can be part of a minigame. CW is a "combat area", and so are BH and Clan Wars right now. If you really want to talk about reading news posts, go take a close look at the RWT development diary. In it Jagex clearly states that they didn't have to remove PKing for RWT -- they could have just made it so PKers didn't drop items. The real motivation is obvious: Jagex got rid of old-style PKing because it sucked. It had turned into a morass of cheating, nastiness and unfair gameplay. They want to redo it, and redo it they will, but I guarantee it will not return in the way it was before.
