  1. Might want to edit that, ford_rule.
  2. Not the first time that's happened. In fact, over 75% of Pork gets passed for that very reason. Once again, nothing new here. Do I agree with it? Not particularly, but in this case I have no love for gambling. I find that quite antidemocratical (sp?). Not just because it's a "double bill", but because they are using terrorism to pass it. And you do know how crazy people tend to go when someone takes a stance "favorable" to terrorism, what voting against this bill could be considered.

So I want to start learning to play an instrument, but I'm in doubt about which I pick: the bass or the (electric) guitar. No matter which I choose, I won't buy the instrument right away, I'll first take some classes and then, after I'm sure about all the technical specifications and have some recommendations, I'll buy it and finally practice as much as possible at home. I really like bass, but I'm not sure if a guitar would be better for me. My biggest doubt about the bass is: how would it be like to practice at home, alone? As I'm much likely not going to be in a band, I'd like to know how it's like to play bass alone. Can a bass be as dynamic as a guitar, or you just keep playing the supporting rhythm of the song over and over again? After I've seen what Lake (ELP, King Crimson bassist) does with his bass, it has pretty much convinced me to stick with bass again, but I assume those things take a genius. Is distortion on bass economically viable for a teenager? My problem with guitar is, on the other hand, that it's such a cliche. Everyone plays guitar nowadays, and it's just so common. Besides, the sound isn't as appealing to me as the bass sound is, and you are pretty much limited to rock with it, I believe. Also, could you please recommend me a starter's set on both instruments? Big thanks! :D
  4. It's not like every politician in a democratic or parliamentary state in the world has not put a completely unrelated proposition into a bill. At least this is useful, unlike when a senator gets 4 million dollars for "civil improvements" to build a statue in his consituencies from a bill designed for roadway improvements. It's called "Pork" and it's been around for hundreds of years. No problem with unrelated issues being dealt with in the same bill. But in that case, it's a way to make voting against the bill an unpatriotic thing to do, using this shortcut, they can make virtually any bill pass the senate. :|
  5. Is Argentina Portuguese? No. Brazil is portuguese.
  6. Yep, that's exactly what I'd expect from Bush. Sneaking an anti-online gambling into an anti-terrorism law, not the opposite.
  7. 50% portuguese, 25% italian and 25% native american. That roughly speaking, because in Brazil everyone has a little bit of everything.
  8. No. I can't stand it.
  9. The Stepford Wives (2004). If Snakes on a Plane were supposed to be a serious movie, it would be as bad as this one.

What's the name of Philadelphia's theme song? That'd be related to the theme.
  11. Looks good, too bad it can't be used with other players, though. I've stopped using iTunes after the 7th version came out: it was way too heavy and buggy for me. I might give it a go if I get to fix my iTunes problems. :)
  12. Smile and be happy, wave to everybody. If an old upset woman looks at you severely, smile at her as well.

  24. I heard it was 4.2. :? CNN reported 3.8, but I don't think that's a major issue.
