and the face, man. Can't forget the face.

I haven't had any lucid dreams but...a few times while I was dreaming, I would just suddenly realize I was dreaming, and although my dream would continue beyond my control, I could consciously move around while dreaming. Same with thinking too, although if I tried to actually put any effort into thinking, I would actually wake up immediately. Not a lucid dream at all, but...an odd dreaming experience all the same.

Wow very nice! Yeah, worst I've gotten (most non doubles in a row) is 8 from one patch, but that's the only patch I've farmed where the herb was alive and I didn't get a single double pick. Then again, I've only done 41 runs with my juju potions, so 205 seeds. With juju pots, I average at around...I think 44ish snaps a run.
-
Sorry for the gravedig but...I thought it would be interesting to see peoples' new personal records now, with juju farming pots, compared to before their release. My record before juju farming pots was 22 lantadymes from a single patch, and 54 avantoes overall for a 5-patch run. Now with juju farming potions (and patches being nerfed as not to give as many herbs past your free invy spaces I suspect), my new 5-patch record is 63 snaps with 2 seeds back. (just as additional info, I got 10 snaps from the first patch, 18 from the second, 8 from the third, 12 from the fourth, and 15 from the final patch) and for proof... (beware, its a big picture) [hide][/hide]

About the whole issue about Sliske being evil because of how he cursed the Barrows brothers, I don't believe in that. I mean, if you''ve done Temple at Senntisten, you'd know that they served as a guard for the powerful artifact there, and that was certainly an artifact the Zarosians wanted to keep out of enemy hands. Better that the [cursed] brothers kept it safe rather than say, Zamorakian mahjarrat using it in the god wars.

agreed. And until yesterday, barrows was one of the best bossing gear, and quite nice for safe pvp.

D) I believe after interacting with the community (well at least more than they used to) for these past 3 years, I think its a bit of a no-brainer to Jagex that a very sizeable part of the population has never liked the changes made in 2007. Obviously, reversing the changes would be something those players would like, and may bring back some of the players who quit due to those updates. if nothing else, it generates hype, and will pad their bottom line. So...my view is that they had already begun work on readapting newer content to fit with the older, post-wildy content, and just to seem fair, they ran the referendum/poll later so it would appear to come from players demanding its return rather than jagex coming up with something. My personal opinion is that the referendum was to generate hype, and meant nothing, and the poll is what "matters", even though the outcome was easily predicted beforehand.... Or maybe they're covering their asses so if the whole thing backfires, they can say "hey you wanted it, not us" -.-

Yup they do. I made some yesterday and was pleasantly surprised to find that out.

POLL: What are your plans or goals for 2011?
Capt_Davy replied to Speedyshel's topic in General Discussion
-99 defense, magic, and summoning to max out combat (excluding 99 prayer) -95 prayer (I'm already at 92...) -100+ dungeoneering -93+ slayer -80+ all skills -rebuy dragon claws and spectral I'd love to get a divine, but I honestly doubt I'll be able to get it in the next year along with my other goals... -
Try double exp gloves + voids + chaotic rapier + extremes at AZ's. God, that would be quite a bit over 150k, perhaps even 200k, melee exp/hr. Me personally, I'll stockpile those gloves to use on easy tasks like greaters, hellhounds, abyssal demons, gargoyles, blue dragons etc. Great, now maxing melee got to be almost twice as easy. Melee-favoritism much? Well it says it doubles COMBAT xp, not just melee xp. So... gloves + chin or gloves + ancients, anyone? Consider that it would double your hp xp as well. Wow that makes those gloves...fairer, but all the more overpowered imo. But on second thoughts, battle robes + gloves while bursting/barraging rock lobsters = very fast summoning and amazing magic exp?

I bought a spectral about a month ago for 47m, and lately I've noticed spectral is crashing hard. How come?
-
at DK's you really don't need much magic attack (maybe -10?) to hit effectively on rex, and i believe you want decent defense to block some of the spinolyps attacking you. So voids isn't so good at DK's, but I was wondering about other situations, compared to using ahrims. Looks like I'll just stick with ahrim's, thanks Grimy and Noxxx.

Void magic set = +30% accuracy. But is that +30% to actual accuracy, or is that +30% magic attack bonus or level or whatever....? and is it ever worth using void magic set with deflector somewhere? (I can currently get +80 magic attack with it, and once i get 300 ma rank, +84)

Robert the Strong was pre-Third Age i think, so he would have long predated the God Wars. As for the Dragonkin theory, that's a good one, but honestly, no good suggestions so far seem to fit in with the "Give me the power of shadow!" line whatever's behind the door says. And its heavily implied that the Dragonkin get a large portion of their strength from the Stone of Jas, not shadows. My bet is that it's something 100% completely new, never seen before in runescape.

No. This thread shows data from 2008-2009, and [obviously, seeing the post dates] includes abo[bleep]ely nothing about 2009-2010, or anything about the past year (2010-2011). So you could say that the data you're drawing your conclusions from is nearly 2 out of date, meaning: this thread is completely irrelevant, and your conclusions drawn from old data cannot be believed. EDIT: time to let this die...again -.-

This time, OT:Zarosian followers were hunted down at the beginning of the Godwars right? It's probably not zaros himself, but a powerful follower locked up years ago. If so, I would expect that the factions would start fighting soon after the Zarosian was sealed away, but the fight for the godsword occurred late in the God Wars, so not likely.

nvm, got ninja'd

Overloads, what? Strong melee potions probably. But what confuses me is...Clifford seems to imply t9 berserker ring by "maxed kinship" in this sentence. But.. This sounds like Clifford is implying t9 tactician (to increase accuracy), since berserker ring doesn't increase accuracy at all. Imo though, if I had to pick between t9 tactician or t9 berserker ring, I'd pick berserker, as primal rapier only really shines against stab-weak monsters, and does a decent job, I guess, on slash-weak monsters (not a big concern since many people have prom 2h bound).

Is Runescape (free worlds) really that popular as it appears?
Capt_Davy replied to Dire_Wolf's topic in General Discussion
I dunno, since I really haven't tried many MMORPGs, but I do know that f2p sucks so bad that every time I lose membership, I quit playing rs until I get membership back. -
It has nothing to do with laziness. If you don't bind a fire staff, there is NO WAY you should have the spare time to make a giant pile of fire runes. The point of this thing is to make maging effective without wasting time on it. Of course, I'm still against binding a staff at all. Seems like a waste of a bind when you can just mage without one. I agree, unless you're 120 dungeoneering and you can have hood + 2h/primal battleaxe + torso armor of your choice + staff bound.
-
Actually, empowered fire vs celestial catalytic isn't really about laziness or not, its about efficiency, and finding the best course of action for your team (if you're in a perm team that is). It's a choice between a faster start to the dungeon, or higher dps. Personally, I feel that empowered catalytic offers too little extra damage from what empowered fire staff gives, considering the time wasted rcing the runes and the money wasted. It's just not ever worth binding over empowered fire staff IMO.
-
Well, there's only three good ammo bind options: laws/cosmics, surgebox, or sagittarian arrows. Generally, when combined with melee, magic > ranged in dung, so it's really a choice between laws/cosmics and surgebox. Laws/cosmics are easy to craft, like you said, so...well...who wouldn't bind surgebox, even if they didn't mage very often?
-
fire surge with empowered fire staff = 280*1.1 = max hit of 308 (assuming no potions) air surge with celestial cataclytic staff = 220*1.3 = max hit of 286 (assuming no potions) Just remember, you could rc and use higher-level spells, or get runes from drops, but either way, you're not going to last too long with those spells before you revert back to air surge. So, even if you were considering celestial staff vs empowered fire staff....if your goal is to do as little rcing as possible (which is why I assume you're considering binding surgebox), and still hit high with mage, you're better off with binding an empowered fire staff. However, if you did do some rcing, the picture changes a bit. Assuming you will not rc the bloods/deaths/airs needed for surges, meaning you'll be limited to 125 surges a dungeon, you would need about 500 p ess to rc the 1250 fire runes that 125 fire surges requires (I guessed you get around 2.5 fires per essence), which would cost you 25k gp. Not unreasonable for sure, but getting the cash then spending a little bit of time rcing is going to be annoying, but then you can mage very effectively (max hit of 364, assuming no pots). So if you plan on getting that 25k gp and rcing those fire runes every dungeon, I'd say you should get celestial staff. Seeing as you asked for empowered catalytic staff though, which is +15% magic damage, which makes fire surge max out at 322, I'd say the extra 5% damage that empowered catalytic staff gives over empowered fire staff staff, considering the time lost, is just not worth it. long story short: unless you're going to rc 1250 fires ASAP in every dungeon, and then mage with celestial catalytic staff, I say stick with binding the empowered fire staff.
