  1. I'd be keen for xbow and pickaxe.
  2. Yes, people with broken backs that say things about shooting cops are really threatening. How do you claim that? For starters the media owned by private companies exist to make money, not inform. Also, because of my recent scrape with the media. I'm not trying to say what the cops did was right, I'm saying there are two sides to every story and it would appear that the cops made a decision on the spot when threatened to protect themselves and carried it out. It's easy to criticize, but I'm sure most people here would use a tazer when some intoxicated guy is talking about shooting you.
  3. He appeared intoxicated and was muttering things about shooting cops, and the cops wouldn't have known his back was broken - he would have appeared to be some drunk/high kid lying on the ground threatening them with a gun.
  4. Before I read his post I was going to say something along the lines of what Kriegsmier posted, I agree with him. Cops have some of the hardest, stressful and mindf*cking jobs there are. They can go from being at a 12 car pileup with death and blood everywhere, to being yelled at for doing their job and handing out a speeding ticket an hour later. Think about it from their point of view: First on the scene, and somebody is lying on the ground, looking like he is somehow intoxicated and saying things about shooting cops. I would take action too. They wouldn't have known about his broken back, so using a tazer when somebody is talking about shooting them would be the first thing to come to anybodies mind. Especially after my recent scrape with the media, I'd have to call BS on the 'tazered 19 times' thing.

I'm not quite sure what that means :? Evolution has pretty much been proven to exist, and there is pretty strong evidence pointing towards the big bang being real. You don't understand. If somebody 'follows the morals in the bible' but doesn't follow some of them, then they aren't actually following the morals in the bible. They have their own morals based on today's society, which has nothing to do with the bible. I'm not keen to get into this again. I've been through many arguments and debated many points about this, to the point where I am 99.9% sure they were fictitious, based on logic and reasoning. It's so tedious and pointless to argue about however, and I'm not going to change your mind so don't worry about it. Religion gives a man purpose like drugs give a man purpose. It isn't real, it's debate ably weak, and he can have his own purpose without the use of it.
  8. (Edit: Nvm you tried that) I can't think of anything else besides reinstalling java, or it being a hardware or virus issue.
  9. It's summer here in Australia but I'm going over to the states in couple weeks. Skiing and snowboarding are my absolute favourite things to do, I can't wait to get back on the slopes.
  10. You wouldn't happen to get a .txt file with the error saved on your desktop when it happens? In either case, try downloading the newest jre.

Yeah it's been pretty crazy since graduation a couple weeks ago with schoolies, parties etc.

My 18th is in a bit over a week. On the 10th I'm going to a parkway concert with a bunch of mates, having a massive joint 18th on the 13th, few days later I'm staying at a massive vacation beach house in Burleigh with 10-20 of my mates for a couple days of drinking, cigars and poker. Then I go to the states for a month with my rich grandparents, snowboarding, disneyland etc. When I get back I'm going into cryptologic systems in the navy. Should be 'aight. Ew @ lighting a cigar with a lighter. edit: I guess it was a cheap cigar, so it won't matter too much.
  13. Skillers are lame, 99 mage with 9 hp is pointless and boring, I'd go with the pker. Runescape has had as many bugs as rsc.. You just don't hear about them unless you know the right people/communities.

    1. You didn't need to quote the whole thing... 2. I think the guy is banned anyway.. Or at least was banned. The Earth really is that old, and most Christians realize that. There are very few fundamentalist morons who think the world isn't 4.5 billion years old. I won't try to tell you gravity doesn't exist, and you forget about arguing against a well known fact, deal? A number of morals in the bible are outdated, or at least what was morally correct. He makes sense because the morals in the bible were based on the morals at the time of writing, the morals today are much different, so the bible doesn't really work as a moral guidebook today. I mean there are a lot of good points in there, but if you only follow some of the morals then you are really just following your own morals, so it's not the bible. Finally, science tells us how and why something works, religion is essentially a bunch of stories with morals, and a fictitious version of the creation of the universe.
  15. What is everyone's favourite pc games that really stand out to them? I need a new game to play. Here are some of mine: The secret of monkey island (and the rest of the series is also awesome) This game is 18 years old and I never get tired of it. Credited to be the first video game to use humor, it is an adventure game full of puzzles. The only thing more kick [wagon] than playing a non linear pirate adventure game filled with puzzles and subtle mature humor, is playing a non linear pirate adventure game filled with puzzles and subtle mature humor while eating a steak and washing it down with a bottle of tabasco sauce, while having your girlfriend change your oil filter. This game had me hooked from the moment the game opened with you taking to a blind lookout, before looking at a poster saying "Vote governor Marley, when there is only one candidate there is only one choice." It is made by Lucasarts - the same guys that wrote star wars, indiana jones etc. Deus Ex 1 Dues Ex is the only FPS I know of that you can finish without killing anybody, or taking any damage. Your character is fairly customizable, you can advance skills and make choices in augmentations for yourself. Depending on your style of play, to get into a room you can run in guns blazing, hack a turret to do the work for you, go in from the sewer, bribe somebody for an elevator code for a nearby building and snipe from the top, disable the cameras and sneak around by tranquilizing one person at a time etc etc etc. KOTOR1+2 It's an rpg where you get to play a jedi. Brilliant game play and storyline, 'nuff said. Phantasie 3 One of, if not the first non text RPG - is easily better than 98%+ of RPGs today A few more of my other favourites include AOE2, (expansion) GH2, portal, cod4 and fear

I guess that's where we see differently. I don't see any real problem with fights as long as it's fair at the start of the fight, and it doesn't get out of hand. I still think it is dumb, because obviously it can get out of hand and the whole law issue. I guess I have mixed feeling on it, but really just see it as like ufc without regulations. I do wish they don't have to go through all the crap afterward, but I still acknowledge that they've done the crime and should be punished like everyone else and there isn't any excuse for what happened.

It was a little mark, and they do happen easily on the face. Toups is the guy I'm not friends with, he took the phone which is the main thing i disagreed with. Yeah, not keen on the reporters etc. They don't care about the people, they just want a good story.
  18. Iamdan replied to Iamdan's topic in Off-Topic
17-18. There isn't anything to justify, just some friends having fun. (or in the case of the fight, friends being dumb) They were drunk and keen for a brawl, and so was the other guy and his friends. Then they were mistaken for people that robbed some place at the Q1, searched and when the phones were found it hit the fan.

Why? Both formal and schoolies is one in a lifetime. Yeah it was on 3 channels, and I don't know how many newspapers. I found a couple articles on the net. These guys are the ones banned from the gold coast until their next court session as part of the bail agreement. I really wanted to, but I figured it wouldn't be worth it with it being right outside a courthouse and a police station surrounded by the media.

People seemed to like the weekend story I wrote a while back so I thought Id write another. Yeah Dan is writing another story about the stupid crap he and his friends get up to, and we got on national news this time. For you non Aussies, schoolies is basically like spring break but for the end of high school. Everybody goes to the coast for a week for basically drinking sex and dancing, occasionally all at the same time. Most people book through schoolies and pay 700-1200$ EACH just for a hotel for the week. However I procrastinated like usual and got a place at the last minute much better than any of our other friends for just $200 each with 3 people. Best thing was that we didnt book through schoolies so we didnt have the huge restrictions like guards checking the place for extra people and risking being evicted for doing almost anything wrong. In the schoolies apartments you needed photo ID to get in and the security guards checked everybody after 10pm. We got in another friends apartment after 10 once by jumping the fence, but we got lucky because the guards were taking care of something else that was going down. Naturally our place was the party, where a good 10-20 friends were over constantly which was pretty awesome. However I still cant understand how we didnt get all kicked out Here is a list of things that were done which if the world were fair, we would have been kicked out straight away. Letting like 10 people crash each night when the max was 5 Making noise - We got asked 2-3 times each night to keep it down Using the fire exit to get to other rooms and partying (triggers silent alarm) Running into strangers rooms and partying Stealing alcohol from said rooms Hooking up with girls, in other random peoples apartments. (To avoid being c***blocked by their friends) Urine being expelled from the balcony Urine being expelled from other peoples balconies Nearly getting into a fight with people from another room Yeah were idiots, but cmon its schoolies. Anyway we had a blast and did heaps of stuff but thats not the point of the story. Wednesday night we were in our place dancing and playing drinking games, when one of my friends went for a walk. Ill call him Lunt. All he had were footy shorts - no shoes, shirt, phone etc. Meanwhile we are still all partying etc, its raining so we arent keen on going to the beach party. Toups makes a bet with his Cadbury girlfriend that she cant down a wine glass full of beer. 30 seconds later hes $50 poorer and Ive found somebody to shout me dinner later. By then it was around 11 and J was getting pretty wasted, obnoxious and on my nerves so I politely suggested that he went for a walk. Clifford said he would take him. Two other friends, say Toups and Nickel, got bored and went out looking for Lunt. Let me just hold the story for a second and describe what these three guys are like. They all play rugby and not scared to get in a fight, Nickel and Toups are both Fijian. Nickel is probably the only gangsta that I get along with. Hes the most aggressively assertive guy I know, but hes got a good heart. I wasnt too keen on him staying but most people there were probably too scared of him to agree with me. He was buying food for us and shouting boxes of beer so I decided not to be the party pooper. Plus he was one of the two 18 year olds with us and could buy alcohol. I usually buy grog for us but they card absolutely everybody at schoolies. In one of the places I tried, they asked some guy who looked about 35 for ID. Lunt is one of my better friends, but he does get in trouble when he hangs around with Nickel. Hes as big as I am and did athletics with me. Toups is Js cousin, is also gangsta and I dont really know him. He also gets in trouble when around Nickel. Im not friends with him, but he is friends of friends of mine. Anyway after they all left at around 12:30am I was keen for a feed so me and Toups girlfriend along with CB went to a petrol station and she bought me the best tasting pies Ive ever had. They were scummy petrol station pies so it was probably just because I was drunk and starving. One the way back, around 100m from our apartment a bus pulled up and dropped off none other than J and Clifford. They saw us and got all Hey wow its you guys, where are we? Oh hey thats our apartment! They had walked to the beach party, then got on a random bus later on and got off at a random stop and somehow ended up back at our apartment. They then went for another walk. The next morning they couldnt even remember leaving our apartment in the first place, or how they got back in theirs. We get back to the apartment at like 1-1:30am and keep drinking for a while. Nickel and Toupss girlfriends are getting worried and keep ringing/texting Toups who was the only one of the three with a phone. I tell them to settle down and get some sleep and I go to bed. 7:30am I wake up and the two girls look like they havent slept. Nickels girl had cleaned our whole apartment and done our laundry. They had also gone out and bought us breakfast. I hungrily ran into the kitchen to find a whole lot of. McDonalds. There is a god, and he hates me. I thought briefly about putting tomato sauce on my shoes and eating that instead but I ended up eating the maccas. Nickels girlfriend actually offered to go out again and buy me something else but Im not quite that much of a jerk so I said it was fine. I decided I liked Nickels girl. They told me Lunt, Nickel and Toups had been arrested and they were freaking out. The police had answered Toupss phone and told them they all got arrested, but they couldnt say what for. They were to go to court and be out by 9-9:30 on bail. My first thought was they had done something stupid and minor like getting into a fight (there were lots at schoolies and were just broken up by police, rather than arrests being made) or being drunk and disorderly. It was only the two girls, B, me and CB left so I woke the two other guys up and we drove to the courthouse. The girls were stressing but our car had a pretty light mood. B was a bit annoyed that he had to risk a DUI but we were making jokes the whole way about our dumb friends. We drive around and find the courthouse, park and come in at 9am. We havent showered and were tired but still in a jokey mood. We asked some random lady who looked important where to go and she asked who they were. I told her it was three schoolies who were probably being charged with being morons. The look she gave us killed my jokey mood. She said she didnt know a whole lot about it, but they had apparently bashed some guy and it was serious. She pointed us to the right courtroom and we went in with our minds racing. They were handing a bunch of appeals for bail so that got boring but there were some highlights in the morning including a kid who was actually in court for stealing a muffin from a juice bar. He stuffed it down his pants so I wasnt sure if he was planning on eating it or what but he ended up being let off on good behavior. The judge made a bunch of hilarious jokes about it being a juicy story and that case taking the cake. All the lawyers and police in the room were laughing their [wagon] off and I was just kinda sitting there wondering how the heck this twit became a magistrate. In some of the duller moments we talked some hot lady who told us she was a lawyer, who asked us a bunch of questions and then gave us some information about what was happening. When we went out to put money in the parking meter, the lady who showed us the right courtroom told us there was media everywhere and not to talk to anyone. Oh, Damn... What a snake. I then named the lawyer we talked to in the courtroom the hot snake. As soon as we stepped outside they had cameras on us from channel 7, 9 and 10. The hot snake asked us for an interview and I laughed at her. I was getting annoyed by it all We had been waiting for 2 hours, been gypped out of some information from the media, plus there was some guy in there who cut his girlfriend up with a machete and they were still filming us feeding the meter. Ratings I guess. Nobody cares about a crazy guy with a machete but when some drunk idiots get in a fight at schoolies its AHHMAGOD TEEN DELINQUANTS FIGHTING AT SCHOOLIES AGAIN!!! THE THUGS FRIENDS SHOW NO REMORSE FOR THEIR ACTIONS AS THEY PUT MONEY IN THE PARKING METER!! MONEY THEY PROBABLY EARNED BY DEALING DRUGS AND ROBBING BLIND PEOPLE! Man I hate the media. We went back inside and found a real lawyer for another case who was nice enough to check out what was happening, what the charges were and why it was taking so long etc. It turned out one of the three took a phone, so the charge is robbery with actual violence which is apparently a serious charge. He also said the courts hadnt got some papers or something so thats why it was taking so long. I then realized why the lawyer was so nice when he gave us his cards to give to our friends. At 12noon the magistrate adjourned the court for 2 hours. So much for out by 9:30. We went to have lunch with cameras following us for a while, picked up J and Clifford and went back to the court. After abusing the cameramen we went back into the courtroom and waited. It really hadnt sunk in until I saw my friends in handcuffs being escorted by police into the room. They couldnt even look at us. I cant even explain it or why, but seeing our friends like that hit us hard. The girls were crying and the guys lost their jokey mood and were letting the days events sink in. They got released on bail and we got told they would come out a door on the side. When we got there, holy media. There were 25-30 people there with cameras and microphones. At around 4-5pm, after 7 hours of waiting, Lunt came out. Within 5 seconds media transformed from a group of friendly chatty people to a bunch of f*cking vultures. B, me and CB took Lunt back alone because they couldnt contact each other as part of their bail agreement. Cameras were being shoved into our faces from every angle before he even got outside the gate. We were standing at the gate blocking most of the cameras view, and I kept on one of the more persistent guys. He kept pushing me out of the way, and I kept blocking him until he pushed me hard enough so I smacked my head on the metal bars. Resisting the very strong urge to make him eat both his own legs and camera I stepped back so Lunt could get through, and we walked him to the car doing the best we could to cover the camera lenses. Lunt just walked along pleading with them to leave him alone. I was then pushed hard a second time and nearly fell on hot snake. I had put up with enough crap for the day and stupidly snapped. If it wasnt for B and CB and a passing cop holding me back I would have broken the guys neck. Im not even kidding. I calmed myself down after a couple seconds and luckily the cop emphasized with me and just told us to get in the car and leave. (Me flipping out didnt end up on tv which was good, it would have made it a lot worse) I was in the back seat with lunt in the middle and we drove off with me flipping off the camera that was right up against the back window. Lunt gave us his story and Ill tell you now: Dont ever get arrested and put in a watch house. Seriously. I wont go into details but with all the filth, physically and verbally abusive police, and crazy people in there one night alone was enough to make Lunt not want to fight ever again. He said he felt dirty after being in there. We watched it on the news and Ill tell you if you saw it, it was blown right out of proportion. The guy was talking about how he was getting his head stomped and kicked, when there was only one mark on his face. Lunt said he hit him once before slipping and hurting himself after getting a weak shot in the guys rips. His story made sense because he told me earlier, and the guy showed a little mark on his face as well as pointing to his ribs with no marks. Lunt said after he fell he looked over and the guy was on the ground with the other two standing over him. Toups took the phone and they didnt know until after, but the police didnt believe them and charged them all with robbery. Toups was also the one who was hitting the guy in the head. Lunt said the other two talked him into starting a group of people so he called out to them, they said stuff back and forth until lunt punched the guy and it went on from there. The guys friends came on and went on about there was nothing we could do, however it was 3 on 3 until they ran away and dogged their friend. Then the kid came back on again and said a bunch of stuff obviously given to him by the reporters and that was it. I was so disappointed because we waited around for 7 hours and still didnt end up on tv It is a serious matter, but it was really just a fight. I know the majority of this forum probably isnt the party type but fights happen when drinking all the time. Ive seen a lot and only 2 got out of hand, one of them had permanent injuries, both of them being out of hand because there was over 15 people in the fight. After people mature they stop fighting and everybody forgets about the bruises and bloody noses. Its obvious they screwed up and did something really stupid, but it was blown out of proportion so much. The guy was fine, had just one mark on him and he was just as keen to fight as the others. It was only on the news because it was at schoolies, and the only reason why he was the victim was because his friends ran away, probably to put on dresses Ive learned not to trust current affairs stories, they only exist to get ratings and earn money. The real news is good because it informs, and is a lot less bias. I also now know that I hate reporters, media cameramen and hot snakes. The guys go back to court in 2 weeks, I was told that since it is their first offense let alone similar offenses, they are pretty much guaranteed to just get a light fine and a record.
  22. Everybody knows that since it's been done a billion times since the first rick roll was done on 4chan with the gta:sa trailer, and it was funny then, it must be a billion times funnier now.
