  1. Since some people decided to talk about the difficulty of acquiring some skills, then it came to comb vs. skiller, then in how much money you made with each and naturally merchenting was mention as a way to make money. And is merchanting not a viable method of making money? I don't see the issue here. Clearly certain unbuyable skills are far more difficult than buyable skills. Anyone who plays Runescape efficiently can attest to that. We had an entire thread on morality (the crashing thread), so let's not do that again.
  2. Since when did this thread become a "merchanting is wrong!" thread?
  3. Karil's is only useful in situations where you need more magic defense than what black d'hide provides. The best ranged gear is Armadyl.
  4. Nope, and that's irrelevant. I assume (and I further assume that my assumption is accurate) that most players won't even attempt to actively go for the elite diaries without first being somewhat close to some of the levels required. I mean, how many brand new players are going to look at the requirements for the elite diaries and make that their goal? It's highly unrealistic. So, no, I don't have numbers. I do, however, know that making money is one of the easiest things to do in Runescape. Hell, I make at least a million a day just doing MTK and a couple farm runs. Not to mention that making money is far more fun than fishing (this is an irrefutable fact: no one really likes to fish). Frankly, I don't care about this debate. Because I enjoy combat, maxing it is a far easier task than even 99 fletching. I just don't enjoy AFK skills. Even prayer is a drag, and it's stupidly fast.
  5. What I am saying is that the combat requirements for these diaries are the most difficult to get.. And that's with all updates/quests/new skills All updates which introduce new items since the summoning have been geared at those who have HIGH COMBAT. - Making it more and more profitable. The only high level content for skillers I can remember are rocktails (which are pretty low level required). Now these diaries I say are another example at content geared to those with HIGH COMBAT (and high skills aren't exactly needed). I highly disagree. 91 fishing and runecrafting is Jagex laughing at EVERYONE, not one or the other. 95 prayer, 92 herblore, and 93 summoning are a walk in the park compared to 91 fishing alone. I'm a combat-orientated player, for the record. I hate slow AFK skills (fishing).
  6. Farming/10. I'm jealous.
  7. Get 10 defense so you can wear a black mask, or get 99 defense because it's better than <99 defense.
  8. ???????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????
  9. I've suggested this on the RSOF multiple times now. Boss drops should be kept for a limited number of floors before being destroyed automatically.
  10. We have enough x-options already. Yes and this one just seem to be forgotten because barely anyone can afford this way of training anyway and bulks of any kind of tiara's are not much more then trash, but that doesn't meen that this one shouldn't have a X-option does it? It shouldn't have one because we have many x-options already, we don't need anymore. Yeah, down with making Runescape easier! I won't sleep till every action's eventual outcome is RSI!
  11. Very odd comparison. Neither is "impressive," and I don't see why it matters. That said, having 99 HP means you either have or are close to other useful 99's, and your 99 fishing won't help you in as many places as 99 HP will. So, HP/constitution.
  12. Honestly, I wouldn't worry about it. Don't abuse the [cabbage] out of it, but use it nonetheless, 'cause the very worst that can happen is you get a slap on the wrist. Even if you use it to clean herbs, you can already get a very similar result by just spamming your 5 key. If I had that mouse, I'd definitely utilize it.

You know what would be cool? An enhanced Balmung and a Keris Scimitar that are actually useful for what they're intended for. But, then again, maybe we're unimpressed because we're maxed.
  14. You SHOULD start one. Good luck buddy.
  15. Nice one, Zaaps. What are you gonna do with your steel titans?
  16. THEN WHY DID U JUST HAPPEN TO BE NEAR THE COOKING GUILD WHERE I WAS???????????? THAT'S WHAT I THOUGHT NOW PLZ GO AWAY
  17. Nah, you deserve it. You haven't had a divine sigil yet, and that's sad.
  18. Like someone said a few posts up, I think it's a lot like CoD's community. There's a huge emphasis on solo-play and competition in Runescape, whereas with games like WoW and LoL you're pretty much always in a team. While I think certain parts of the community (like the PKing community) contribute, it's mostly the way the game is played by most people.
  19. I dunno, aggressively? I tend to post whenever I have a strong opinion on something, and it usually ends with me arguing with people for ten pages. I try not to post if I don't know much about a subject (I wouldn't post on a H&A thread about thieving, for example). My most active forums are General Discussion (mostly arguing, I'm sure) and H&A (mostly slayer topics). I also troll my friends' blogs and Rate This! threads.
  20. I've never played WoW, but I know a LOT about it through my friends (same ones who play LoL now), and one thing I like about WoW that Runescape definitely does not have is good customer service. For those who don't know, WoW hires people who will actually PM you in-game (and I think even show up as a physical character) if you really need help with something. I understand why Runescape can't do something like that (Blizzard is a HUGE company), but I do wish Runescape's customer support was better. Though, I've never had a problem so severe that I needed customer support.
  21. Two things: 1. This thread again? 2. You again? All of my 99's are byproducts of me slaying. All of my future 99's will be byproducts of obtaining some useful item(s) or ability, like 99 Herblore and Dungeoneering.
  22. I'll update this soon I promise.
  23. Dunno how I missed this post last night when I posted, but definitely +1 to this! ATM my girlfriend and I live somewhat far from each other so the majority of our interaction is on the phone, and there are times when she doesn't even know I'm playing RS when we talk. When I do other things (read/post threads, look at webcomics, etc.) she notices because I get quiet and sound distracted when I do say something. Interestingly, I've got mild ADD (which is why I tend to multitask) and RS distracts my ADD enough that I can focus on her better. Even more interestingly, as I was writing this I realized that RS is the perfect game for ADD people - there's such an abundance of content that, unless you're bored with RS in general, there is always something to do, from D&D's, activities and minigames to the plethora of varied skills (and the wide variety of ways to train them) to the quests and PvP content, there is literally something for almost anyone and never a shortage of things to do. If you get bored in RS, you're either not suited for MMOs, your character sucks, or you're not looking hard enough for something to do. Aside from the ADD, I have an identical situation with my girlfriend, and I have to say that it's certainly much easier to concentrate on her while playing Runescape than while playing, say, Modern Warfare 2. When we lived together, though, it was a different story. I only played Runescape when she wasn't home or had a lot of homework, 'cause the last thing I wanted was WWIII in my apartment.
  24. It only takes a couple hours to get one.
