!!!200-230k an hour with only 13 slayer?!!! (regular edits)
Erichermit replied to VimtoHero's topic in General Guides
Looks like you beat me to making this guide, though I may still make one on the matter. If I may make a few recommendations, it is better to wear dragonhide than metal. In fact, it is better to wear nothing at all than metal. Their attack is a "Magical Melee". I think full void melee should also work wonderfully there, and a godsword because the slow speed is nulled by the fact that you can probably one hit kill them each time with it. -
Misunderstood Monsters: Wyverns and more!

@Ross: Ah, I don't think I shall write a guide about them, but I may if future evidence shows otherwise. @abbydog95: You can always just eat or drop surplus food for a drop of higher value. A few peices of food isn't exactly too expensive. @ventuzz: You raise some good points. I think the main benefit would be the availability of killing those snakes that drop snake hide though. @Philip Kolar: Yeah, I hate having to fight people for spots. I may consider trying a kurask guide, but I don't really feel like going many areas that I can't go on a slayer task assignment to get slayer xp while I gather data, hehe. (I use Duradel) I'll try to take more pictures in the future. Anyway, I have some questions for my readers. I was planning on making a cave slime guide (Aimed a bit more at lower levels that probably the main base of people reading my guide) for a while but I've seen about 3 guides released on the matter. Do you think I should still do it, or is the making of it pointless now? My guide is meant to be a store of information not heavily known, and I have no wish to create a guide for information that can already easily be adequately obtained elsewhere. In other news I'm still continuing my little break on guide writing to complete my 99 fishing / cooking goal, which I am long overdue to complete. Also, School will be starting soon for me so I will be much slower in guide releasing once that happens, for I will already have enough reports to write without creating my own homework =P Thankfully, Senior year (highschool), at least I hear, tends to have lower workload than previous years so I may have more time to spare. I also have a game (Enex2, see signature) that many are waiting on me to finish. If anyone has any guides they would like me to feature within the Misunderstood Monsters catalogue then I will be pleased to add them and you will be completely credited, of course. Of course, if you would simply like to make suggestion (I will keep them in mind for when I return to guide writing) then I would enjoy to hear them, but please don't just tell me "I hear _ is good", I'd like to know what specifically you think they are good for and what you *think* the best approach is. (There is a chance I will come to a different conclusion but it helps me to at least have a starting point) Thanks for reading everybody. Drop me a message in RS anytime if you want to talk. =) -
Only when RS is shut down

I've been playing RS for about 7 years now, so it almost feels like a home on the internet to me. I'm familiar with everything and know many people, and all the memories are there for me. When I play Runescape, I feel like I'm entering another world where I can be Erichermit, a *insert profession here*. Dragon Slayer? Runecrafter? Fisherman? Explorer? Anything I want. It's fun and I always like to see what there is for me to do. I don't like goals as much as most people here, at least not long term goals. I recently set 99 fishing/cooking for me and it hasn't been all that fun. I'm going to finish them, as I'm really close, but after this I've decided to hold off on such things for a long time. Instead of worrying about fishing, or how much xp I need to get, I'm just going to look through my skills and think "Hmm, what would I like to do?" and then go do it. I probably wont stick to one thing each day, and I also probably wont make any big dramatic skill increases, but I don't really care, because It'll be fun. Though I'll probably spend most of that time doing Slayer tasks. =P

Misunderstood Monsters: Wyverns and more!
Erichermit replied to Erichermit's topic in Archive of Wisdom
I'd say I'm way overdue for a response. Anyway, I don't think I'll be adding a new Misunderstood Monsters for a short while, but I can probably come up with one soon. I tried out Cave Slimes and they seem worth killing, and I did I bit of research of Mos Le harmless Snakes, which seemed plausible but I'd have to work out a good method and find the optimal killing spot. @dorcus1: Setting your house to Rimmingtone and teleporting there works. It's probably about as good as the Fairy Rings. I like not using up Tabs though. @Danqazmlp: It depends on where the drop falls. Follow what the guide said and you'll be okay. The accumulator does work safespotted. @oliboli: I said the stats are similar. I never said they cost the same. =P @Brunokiller: Thanks for the terrordog help. If I decide to make a guide on them, I'll be sure to use some of your tips! Does Duradel assign them? I would love a Gorak Guide, if it's not too much trouble for you. =) Nice picture of the fool getting owned. When will they learn what "This place is dangerous, do not enter if you mind dying" mean? @ross the knight: Interesting discovery. Yeah, the salve amulet makes most undead creatures the best training options available, and the easy recovery of food is helpful. Do you have an estimate for the xp for hour, at all? @archdukeofyork: Thank you! =) @Danwazmlp: Yeah, Gonpost made a great discovery there! I have a slayer task for them currently, I'm glad he found such an effective way to kill them. Having lots of HP makes them a good task though for slayer xp ;) but yeah, I hate and love black demons in the way you do I imagine. -

It's taken almost a year since level 68 or so, but here I am only one level away from 99! Next up will be 99 cooking using the all the fish I caught. -
Im making great use of this ring as a Port Sarim teleport and a teleport to the Falador farm to check my herbs. Now I can quickly visit the Morytania Farm and the Falador Farm for almost no effort at all. The 150% run is also helpful when doing farming runs but you dont want to summon a bird for it, or perhaps you want to use a farming boosting familiar.

Ah! Thanks =) That is quite a compliment. Bah I'm so aggravated at my inability to work lately. I try and try and no progress comes out. It's like my creativity has run dry. Soon I'll be going up to canada for 2 weeks. I know I said I'd have Enex2 ready by Summer but that's looking impossible now. I'm thinking the end of Summer or a bit after it. Sorry. =(

Wait, I think I may be misunderstanding this. Did you say from the first part of my post until later on then you stopped enjoying it? I mean, I don't mind if you don't like it, but it sounds like you're saying you got disappointed by the prospect of the game, but you are looking forward to it and it seems nice? I'm just a little confused here, I'm probably just reading it wrong lol. Oh, and thanks Myumachi!

Okay, fine, I wont go back to RS until it is finished =P @kaosmerchant: Well, I'm already very confident in my abilities, but if you're a good spriter/scripter/music maker I may be interested

I would like to join this, I'm pretty good with Metaknight/Kirby and am trying to learn King Dedede (Because he is just so awesome). My code is 0559 8287 6800 I'm available most of the day due to it being summer, but asking me over AIM or MSN (Erichermit or [email protected] respectively) is the best way to plan it. It's probably too late to actually join the tournament, but I'd like to at least just join the club.

I really want to get back into Runescape... but I'm so close to finishing Enex2 it's not even funny! Im having trouble fighting the urge to go back =(
-
Lol, what do you mean? :?
-
It's hard to explain actually. You will be going there, but it wont necessarily be a dungeon. You'll see when you get there. Don't worry, I know what I'm doing =P

I was having trouble actually managing to toggle piety. I was able to toggle prot mage on spiritual mages but couldnt really figure out how to do it with piety. -
Because there will definitely be cutscenes involving it
-
Well I don't necessarily have to map it in order. I'm considering not adding it in though.

Sleep Paralysis. Now there's something to talk about. I'm generally not too much of a paranormal person, but I do believe in spirits. I never believed in any spirit being malevolent though. One night after playing a ton of Tales of Legendia, which I had newly been addicted to, I lay in bed falling to sleep (on my back). My thoughts drifted to Tales of Legendia (I was addicted, after all.) but it got really violent. Like, you know how you imagine things in your mind before going to bed? The characters kept getting like split in half or brutally (not cartoony) beaten in my mind. I kept opening my eyes every time it happened as it was very disturbing as I had no imagined it, I kind of felt like.. I imagined it without trying. It's hard to explain, but It was the imagination of the violence was happening on its own accord. This continued on and on and I kept opening my eyes until I decided it was getting ridiculous and I'd be up all night long. So instead I just let it continue, deciding I'd be asleep soon enough so it wouldnt matter and I could just ignore it as it's all imagination. It was then after keeping my eyes closed for a while that I felt a strange pulsating sensation in the middle of my waist. I awoke in a bit of a panic as this felt very strange. I repeated what I had done earlier, dismissing it as a fluke and continually closing my eyes again only to have the pattern repeat itself. Eventually I decided this was getting silly and I decided to just ignore the pulsating sensation and just try and fall asleep. The next step was a strange noise. I can't really describe it, but it was like a backwards Woosh Woosh, like a sucking noise. Try to inhale a lot of air into your mouth with lips in a whistle blowing position while flicking your tongue against the roof of your mouth and it sounds similar. Once again the pattern repeated itself. I opened my eyes and eventually decided to just deal with it after some trials, like before. The next step was an intensification of the pulsing sensation and a moderate pain in the area of the pulsing. I once again opened my eyes only to see above me a dark cloud of sorts. It is almost impossible to describe it. It looked like it was literally made out of darkness, not a fog or anything like that. There were some small red spheres embedded in it that reminded me of eyes but I can't really say for certain. There were 4, looking back it seems there were two primary orbs and then two secondary smaller orbs to the side of them. It didn't have a definite end. This is the hardest to describe, it had a shape, but looking at the sides there never was an obvious point of end. And it's not that it just faded away. I could look far to the right and see that there was no Thing over there. It simply was here, and not there, with no definite point of end and no fading away. It was impossible. The thing had two armlike appendages. One branched off to the right and seemed to be not being used and was shorter. The one to the left curled into the point on my waist that was pulsating. I was completely frozen, as if giant rocks were tied to each of my fingers and feet and.. everywhere. I could move my eyes around but that's it. I tried screaming out for help but all that came out was a small whisper for help. eventually after trying as hard as I could to move for an extended amount of time, I broke free. Completely terrified, I left to sleep in another room. During the next day I felt sore in my waist where the thing had connected to me. I did some research on the thing, and it's perceived by some Asian cultures that the Chi-Energy (Which roughly is equivalent to what we would call a soul) is located in your waist. Cultures all over the world have stories of black cloud monsters that attack people who lie on their back in their sleep. Some cultures say it is witches, others say it is monsters trying to steal their breath, one culture said it was the souls of trees who need to draw energy from humans every now and then to survive. Either way, it is a wide cultural "monster myth" of a dark cloud monster that makes a sucking noise and paralyzes you while sleeping on your back. On a different forum in a similar topic, a person described an event very similar to my experience. I have no slept on my back once since then as I get terribly frightened of it coming back. One of the scariest things about this is after looking at the clock, it all occurred withing 8 or so minutes since I went to bed, not enough time for me to enter REM sleep as it generally takes me 15-30 minutes to fall asleep. I have later experienced a different sleep paralysis that had no violent visions, noise, or pulsating sensation while sleeping. It happened after sleeping for a long time. The general explanation for sleep paralysis is how your body freezes itself to keep from moving around in dreams and sometimes this carries over when you awake. I believe the body paralyzing itself happened the second time, but the first time was... very different.

Thanks for the compliments everyone! They keep me going! =) Ultimakomoto: I've started mapping Shadow Realm now. I can get you a screenshot of that after a bit of progress =P

Erichermit replied to Erichermit's topic in Archive of Wisdom
Well, I already did add a section in the equipment reccomending Bandos, I'm pretty sure most of the extra kills comes from the ability to use slayer task bonus and higher combat levels for you, but if you would like to I wouldn't mind adding your picture to my guide. -
@ratchet: sorry but no, all info is on this topic, and posts afterward. @life_mage12: it was because my game was choc full of spelling errors that makes it look very un-professional? =P @Ryderj: Idk :( Soon I hope, but I just got a Wii!
