The importance of F2P in Runescape
Erichermit replied to Central_Keeper's topic in General Discussion
However, not that F2Pers can cut yew and not have to compete with bots, many more will come to chop them. The prices wont drop to where they were with Bots, but they will drop -

Wow, I have to say that you are absolutely owning the 99's! And not to mention that you are insanely rich! Great job with everything, just, wonderful job! I love the place you picked for 99 construction by the way. Yay Witchaven! and youre almost to 99 smithing too! O_O thats a very admirable skill to get 99 in. Have fun never running out of full rune. NOt that you couldnt just buy unlimited sets already. -
Thanks for the comments everyone! I'll be sure to go check out your blogs in a bit :) I would also like to announce that I have updated the blog slightly. I have added a picture of my fishing outfit under Fishing Pictures and have completed the Cooking section of the blog, donation section, and a reference to other cool blogs! Check em out!

Hey! You seem to be doing something very similar to what I'm doing. I too am fishing (mostly) monkfish to 99 fishing. So far I have 30000 monkfish done and im taking a break to barbarian fishing. Good luck getting those monkfish! Your fishing level is coming along very nicely! I hope you can make it to 99, it wont be easy ;) You're over halfway there though, so I think you'll make it! Check out my blog if you want something to do while monkfishing ;) -
Updates: 12/21/07 :: Blog Written 12/22/07 :: Added more funny pictures, Cooking 91 Reached Hello there. I'm Erichermit. I'll be using this blog for many things. Probably foremost of which, is to find something to do as I cook my monkfish. About me: I began playing a LONG time ago. I dont have any screenshots to prove it, but I do have the bunny ears and scythe. I began six years ago, in the Summer of 01'. However, as anyone who played back in RSC knows, training wasn't easy. I was quite young at the time (Im 17 now, so go figure) and wasnt very GOOD at the game persay. But I had my fun, though it may have been running around with an iron dagger and bronze chain, med, and sq till level 40, I had my fun. My skills aren't that impressive for someone who has played for as long as I have, but I am seeking to change that. My favorite skill is Slayer and my least favorite skill would be Agility. I just cant stand that Wilderness course, I really can't! I am usually a very playful and strange person. If you ever see me on runescape, I will most likely be extremely talkative and friendly. If I'm not, im either feeling depressed or browsing forums. My main goal on Runescape is to get 99 in all skills. Of course, I don't expect this overnight. In a way, getting to 99 fishing and cooking is kind of a test to me, to see if I actually CAN get some 99's. I always have Private Chat ON so feel free to send me a message! World 79 is my homeworld. Oh and, I really love the whole Roleplaying part of the game (it's fun to pretend!) and my favorite God out of the bunch would be Guthix! Hooray for Nature and Gnomes! I also love wearing a skill outfit based on what im doing. I dont try to make outfits that "flaunt wealth" either, I just want to look like Im a person who does what im doing. So I like, get an anchor for fishing, because it has to do with the sea! And me in real life? Well, I dont honestly have much interesting to say. I am 17 years old, I have a girlfriend who ive been with for a year and a month so far =). I also live in Texas and I wish it'd snow for once, seeing as how I simply adore the cold and snow. Well, on to my skills, shall we? A mastery of all creatures Aquatic [hide= Fishing] [hide= The Story of Fishing] So I was doing Slayer -as usual- when I encountered a certain task. A task for 180 Kalphites. Now, I was feeling particularly ambitions and I thought "Why! I'll Solo it!" And I did. I didn't get anything good, but it was great fun! It was one of the most fun things I had ever done in Runescape, to be honest. So I did it again. Then I did it again. Then I realized "Oh no, I'm all out of Sharks!!" Of course the obvious solution, was to go buy more shark. I bought some more off the RSOF, and proceeded to do another solo or two. I decided I would need more sharks, and decided that the Fishing Guild was the best place to buy them. When I headed to the fishing guild, I found man (whos username, ironically was Shark, with some numbers at the end) hand fishing sharks. I offered to buy some, and we arranged upon a deal. But i stood and talked to him for a while, and I realized, after buying only a small amount, I should fish my own sharks so I dont have to pay any money for them. Unfortunately, I lacked the admirable 76 fishing required to get these fish. So I headed off to Piscatoris. 2 Levels, shouldn't be too hard, right? It really wasn't. I earned my 76 fishing fairly quickly, and then I realized, why, Sharks will be incredibly slow at 76 fishing! I had better go for 78 fishing.... Then after attempting a few sharks, I still found them ridiculously slow. And the fact that Monkfish gave more exp than Shark bothered me, and I came realize, I shouldnt ever fish any shark. I should fish Monkfish, sell monkfish, and buy shark. Obviously the thought is "Monkfish arent really that great for money", but the point is, I wanted to FISH for some food, and this was the only way to fish really for shark. (I like collecting all my own materials). So I decided to fish about 3k monkfish, which would be worth about 1k shark. Sometime during this fishing of 3k monkfish, I decided to go all the way to 99 fishing. And I decided I would do this all off of Monkfish so that I could get 99 cooking and a giant profit at the end too! I decided to fish 100,000 monkfish. 100k monkfish would earn me 99 fishing and 99 cooking and be a nice round number. In order to keep myself sane, I did a quest every 5k monkfish. Slowly knocking down quests, I soon realized that I would want a higher agility level for Mournings Ends Part II. Plus. I was getting very bored of fishing monkfish. I decided to give up on getting 100,000 monkfish and instead on getting taking a break on Barbarian Fish. I'll go back to Monkfish later, either for enough for 99 cooking, or enough for 94 cooking at which time I'll move on to Shark. I instead moved on to Barbarian Fishing. 30,000 Raw Monkfish already obtained, I was not the respectable level of 88 fishing. I grabbed 10,000 bait and headed off to Otto's Grotto for some power fishing with free agility bonuses! I of course, hadn't forgotten my 99 cooking so I will make sure to return to the Monkfish once I get to 71 agility. I found Barbarian fishing to be MUCH more fun than Piscatoris. I enjoy the bonus Agility XP, the faster Fishing xp, and the fact that there are three different fish so it mixes it up a bit by making me drop the ones I dont want. I decided to keep all my sturgeon and bank them. I cut them up every 8 loads. So far I have about 2000 caviar accumulated in the bank and by the time I'm 71 agility I'll enough caviar to gain a great amount of herblore levels. I also thought of some places to use the Potion Mixes in! If I'm very lucky, Caviar will be used in some summoning skill and I'll strike it absolutely rich! I fished for quite a while here, and eventually made it to Level 90 Fishing. I felt this was a good breaking point, and took a temporary break to cook the 30k monkfish I had accumulated while fishing at piscatoris. I finished the 30,000 monkfish, and made a ton of cooking levels to boot! I then returned to barbarian fishing, and started to wonder whether or not all this Caviar was really worth holding on to. [/hide] [hide=Progress] I will be updating this every 1k monkfish. I'm currently fishing for barbarian fish, so dont expect to see this change. My Caviar will. I will also be updating fishing level. This should change. Starting Level: 74 Monkfish caught: 30,046 Caviar collected: 2000 (+1000)* (+1000)** Fishing Level: 90 *1000 Caviar was sold to a friend at 100 each to train Herblore with **1000 Caviar was sold at 400 each to a fisher [/hide] [hide=The Plan] Alright, heres a new section. I have devised a step by step plan on getting to 99 fishing. There are four steps. 1. 30,000 Monkfish 2. Barbarian fish until 8,674,131 XP 3. 16000 Monkfish 4. 22603 Shark As you can see, step one has been completed already. They've also been full cooked already. Since I already have 4000 monkfish, and I want 20,000 for training purposes, I want to fish 16000 more. This will get me to the fishing level to hand fish sharks, and the cooking to never burn them. From here I will make the final levels off of shark for their profitability. I will sell a number of sharks, but not sure on the exact number as of yet. [/hide] [hide= Fishing Pictures] Here I will taking screenshots of every level 90 and above. I also may post any other interesting pictures, but im not sure how much interesting stuff really happens while fishing. ;) As you can see, this is my fishing outfit. I originally was wearing full moonclan (see siggy), but I eventually decided the hat and sandals look better with Monks Robes. My favorite piece of this is the Anchor. I absolutely adore the hilarious way it makes my character run around, and the Nautical Theme it gives it great. It just makes sense for fishing, you know? Plus it's a great Random Event basher (see cooking story). For a while in Piscatoris I was mildly famous for it. You see, before I fought random events, I'd shout "It's Anchorin' Time!". After a week or so, perhaps more, I started asking, "What time is it?" I got a response of "Time for Anchor?" "Anchor Time? "Anchorin' Time?" =D My Level 90 fishing! A few of my friends, such as Furball Zen who ive been hanging out with at various fishing spots and Wackoo who was chopping willows at BA and I kept popping in, making some extravagant "hello!", and then running away before he could respond (he eventually chased me down), migrated to see me get 90. Thanks for showing up guys! =) Everyone thinks my name is "Enrichment". You're hearing it now people! It's Erichermit. That's Eric-Hermit! Heres a glitch that I noticed occurs around Otto's Grotto. One of the treetops in Gnome Stronghold has its priorities a bit out of whack and when a friend stands in front of it, like so, it looks like hes some kind of Giant behind it! Heres a funny moment from the Evil Bob random. Go back and talk to the slave before you leave! My Level 91 Pic! Pretty happy about this level. Just one more until the coveted 92 halfway point. Airsoft and Draglet came down to visit me. Thanks for showing up you two! And Draglet's new red ele looks awesome ;) Funny story about this level, I fished until I was 20 xp from level and then told everyone to get ready. Then I went to fish the final fish and a mysterious old man popped up and handed me a box XD Such a strange twist to the level as I was like "Wooooooooooo 91 fi- what the?" Heres my 92 fishing. If im lucky, there will be more pictures. My account has been Hacked. Halfway though. That's good. Account has been recovered. Anyway, Today I saw a Fremmenik come to the fishing spot! It was actually some person who designed a Fremmenik outfit, and I thought it looked pretty cool so I took a picture. 93 Fishing! The levels are starting to take a while now. I forgot to get my stats in the picture this time, but oh well. Glad people showed up for the pic! The man in the fletching cape is only 100k for 99 Woodcutting too! Going to be about 4 days until I get 94. 6 levels to go! 94 Fishing! I actually got this a while back, but I forgot to update my blog. School has begun again, so expect fishing levels and updates and the sort to become much rarer than before =( [/hide] [/hide] A Culinary ability to make no critic displeased [hide=Cooking] [hide=The Story of Cooking] This story is essentially the same one as Fishing (see above). I decided, obviously, that if i'm going to be fishing massive amounts of Monkfish, and want to be able to fish Sharks to go KQing with, then I'll want to be able to cook them and not burn them all too! Plus, getting the skillcape trimmed would not only be a bigger acheivement than simply getting a skillcape, but the prayer bonus could prove helpful in many places, such as KQing! So on December 19th, I ran to lumbridge. I grabbed out my monkfish and began to cook them on the range. I figured, I'd do this until I was 90 cooking so that I wouldn't have to burn many monkfish. I soon grew quite tired of this, however, and headed off to Rogues Den! I found the exp as Rogues den to be incredibly fast. I gained 8 cooking levels in just a few days. There were a few interesting conversations here too, and I noticed a bunch of people FMing. So I just continued to cook. It was pretty boring but I really didn't mind much. There was this one shady character who wouldn't stop stalking to me though. That's right, I'm talking about Dr. Jekyll. Yesterday I had the insane luck to encounter him 8 times! I didn't even see anyone else getting Jekyll but me! "It's Anchorin' Time!" Here's a picture of me expressing my frustration of Dr. Jekyll... at Mr. Hyde. LEAVE ME ALONE ALREADY!!! I met some interesting characters at Rogues Den. One time, a mute girl started handing out presents to everyone and sparked a giant giving fest, and everyone started handing out gifts to each other! It was pretty fun and awesome. I barely got anything cooked that day though. Some of my friends even came down to hang out too, such as Draglet5! I finished cooking the first set of 30,000 monkfish and then proceeded to return to Barbarian fishing. [/hide] [hide=Progress] First Set: 30 046 Raw Monkfish ||COMPLETE!|| Starting Level: 79 Cooking Level : 91 *Obviously, the reason the Monkfish dont add up to 30,046 is because I have sold many. I have added the money earned* Second Set: [/hide] [hide= Cooking Pictures] I will be adding pictures of 90+ cooking levels here. I will also be adding funny pictures if I come across some. Here you will see my cooking outfit. Druid Robes, Chef Hat, white boots, Fire Cape, Saradomin Book, and a Meat Tenderizer. I like the Meat Tenderizer and the Chef Hat, as it gives me a very "chef" look. I could theoretically use a different cooking utensil, but I love how ridiculously large the Meat Tenderizer is =D Originally I wore a Legends Cape, but I realized I liked the look of my Fire Cape better. Plus, it is relative to the fire, which im going to be cooking on. I may however, switch this out for a Quest Cape later. I think this picture speaks for itself. While standing in the middle of the fire, I noticed that a bunch of people cooking around me looked a lot like they were worshiping me. All Hail Erichermit the Glorious! One of the girls here (who happened to be mute) saw my cooking outfit and I guess she decided to get hers out too. I thought they were remarkable similar and decided to take a picture. Then one of my friends who I had met jumped in the pic lol XD Yes! 90 Cooking marks double 90 skills! This one totally got me by surprise and I forgot to gather my friends to congratulate me. Oh well! It's just cooking =P Im quite glad I got this now though. I no longer have to burn any Monkfish! Yippeee! I am rathered bothered that the picture of the pot is much smaller than normal however.. While in the Grand Exchange to sell some of my monkfish, I ran into this character! I haven't actually seen the movie 300, but I've heard enough about it by now to get it =P Hooray! 91 Cooking! I'm glad to see that the cooking pot isn't ridiculously small this time. I can now cook Manta Rays, though I'd probably burn them soooo much. Plus the Trawler is difficult to use, maybe I'll go trawler fishing for a little break sometime later though. This time I got friends to show up =) [/hide] [/hide] ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ [hide=Donations] I don't think donations are really neccesary. I'm going to be making a profit off all this fishing in the end, so I'm okay =) However, most blogs have a donations section, and if anyone wishes to donate, that's fine by me! I am in no way, however, begging for items and nobody should be feel obliged to give me so much of a pile of ashes (which ironically, recently, actually are getting kind of pricey.. for ashes.) 307 Caviar thanks to Furball Zen A Saradomin Mitre and a Guthix Page 4 Thanks to the unfortunately mute Claire42069 Heres a wonderful present from Draglet5, who's blog is linked to from below. Tea! Christmas Tea to be precise. I handed it out to random people to keep them warm! =) Another present from Draglet5! Yay! Heres a present from Exter 88. I wonder if I'll use these in range for something. Hmmmm. My friend Air9843 was barbarian fishing with me for a while but he eventually gave up and gave me all his bait. I suppose I could classify this as a donation! =) [/hide] [hide=Reccomended Blogs] I will be putting of the blogs of my friends or other blogs that I think are Especially cool up here! I recommend you clicky them. [bleep]e's Blogs [bleep]e is working on 99 fishing in a very similar way to me! Hope there'll be some monkfish left in the sea when we're done! Mario's Blog Another Monkfish fisher. He's also killing dragons along the way and just got a Visage! check it out! Draggys Blog Draggy is working on 99 fishing in what I think is a rather suicidal way. Sharks! He'll be very rich at the end of it though. I could never have that kind of patience though. stillakid's blog stillakid is also another fisher.. Hmm.. I seem to be reccomending a lot of fishing blogs o.O Anyway, she told me to make a blog, so I was like "Hm, I do feel kind of bored cooking these monkfish, maybe I will make one!" and so I did! [/hide]

I wonder if the Achievement Cape will trip the Quest Cape.

I didn't find draynor fishing spots for over 2 months lol. Then i got to lvl 5 but got killed by one of those dark mages and lost my shrimps and anchovies . Rofl. good old year 2001. I didn't find draynor for another few weeks after that again lol. #-o When my friend and I first found draynor - back in 2001 as well - we dubbed it "The Weird Town" XD We also made a hideout out of the HAM HQ... of course, it wasnt the HAM HQ back then, but just some empty building with a giant spider. I also joined on world 5 or w/e.. I dont remember the number exactly. Anyway, when I went to that world I eventually found my to varrock. Thinking that every city was a world I yelled "Hello, im from world 5! What world is this?" Got a few laughs at me that day.

You'll have to visit me at world 79 monks sometimes. Im currently fishing in Otto's Grotto but once I get to ~92 (im currently 90) I'll have to switch back to Piscatoris because I need the 99 cooking as well as 99 from Monkfish. Add me sometime =) (I too am working on 99, I'll be making a blog later) 'Good luck on 99 fishing!
-
Im working on 99 Fishing as well! I started at level 74 at Piscatoris and succeded in fishing 30,000 monkfish and getting to 88. I then decided to make an excursion to Otto's Grotto where I have since gained a couple levels and am now Level 90 as of about an hour ago! =D my first 90, 9 more to go! I would love to come visit you sometime, I have been considering fishing 98-99 off of sharks. Give me a hyt anytime, I always keep privvy on. What's your homeworld? Mine is always 79. Oh wow, I never knew about that fireplace

91 RC should still be crazy fast money if I'm correct.

You could also kill green dragons and craft the hides that you killed yourself
