Age Of Fast Money : Dead forever.

Now that you can no longer sit in a bank pounding away your keyboard getting rich over night, winning 50M because you have a higher attack level and dont want to eat food, and also no more gaining 4M+ because your a low combat level with a VERY high magic level, what will you do for cash? I think we will see a large increase in skill using and the following activities.

<-Skill Usage->

+Slayer

+Fletching

+Woodcutting

+Mining

+Hunter

<-Activity Usage->

+Barrows

+Monster Hunting (Big and slayer)

Id like to see what all your opinions are about what you USED to do for money and what you will NOW do for money...

<-Things that are off topic and will be reported for spam->

As F2Per I always made money from skills like Mining and Woodcutting, I came member from 2 months and got around 7 mil from Barrows, now i'm F2P again and I guess i'll have to use my skills again.

It's not that bad to use skills I think, you train them meanwhile.

Yeah, I agree. I never did skills alot, mainly because there were faster methods of money, and, it just seemed pointless, but, now, there is no choice. Ill prolly be getting my slayer up, or doing some barrows.

TBH im happy now that everyone is on a equal footing in terms of making money. Now people will no longer be able to win 1 fight and then be able to buy 99 Herblore or Farming etc etc. Now people will only get rich through Solo monster killing or skilling un-endlessly.

Im going to guess alot of peole disagree with me on this subjecy but i prefer it to the old ways of making money.

Ya, slayer monsters have some Real Nice Drops. Like Abbysal Whips. And spinach rolls.
If the CORPORAL beast is this hard, imagine how hard a GENERAL or COLONEL beast would be. a corporal is not even an admirable rank in armies that use that ranking system.

Yeah, it is a pking minigame, so any arguments anybody makes will probably be biased.

The best way this will end :Everybody just says,"I'm not arguing with you anymore, goodbye."

The worst way this will end: I don't really know, psychological warfare? Worldwide thermonuclear war? Pie eating contest?

Yep, I couldnt agree more, but, the part at the end, do you mean you prefer the quick money, or skill money? Im sure everyone would prefer quick money, but, Ill be glad that no more level 40s will be able to go "rofl noob i have a fury santa green mask and 500m, and a lvl 123 main"

91 RC should still be crazy fast money if I'm correct.

Eh, I don't really mind much, seeing as how I never bothered with staking or merching. So I'll just be doing the same as always.

Slayer, boss killing, Fishing and RCing are probably the best ways to get money these days, but with the monsters you need to have enough cash to keep yourself in supplies until you get a decent drop. If you can afford it, Barrowing is probably the best way, unless you have awful luck..

There is no meaning or truth in life but that which we create for ourselves.

I'm considered fairly 'rich'

and the update hasn't affected my money making at all.

I meant i prefer the skill way of making money.... now people will have to work their [wagon] off for all the good buyables such as Prayer, Costruction etc etc

I have a great way to train herblore, in a small way train combat, and make money, but it's a secret :-$

I was considering the possibility that with less incentive now to alch up high mage levels, there will be a lot less GP's coming into the game?

Perhaps this, combined with the fact it will become generally harder to make a great deal of money in a short space of time - What gold people do have will be valued higher?

Making the need for extremely fast moneymaking methods not quite so necessary?

Just a thought I had, but I'm no economist. Close to the mark you think? Or way off? :XD:

That would be close to the mark... Except you forgot about the GE and price controls.

I like the new changes! i can wc in f2p with No bots, while I'm merchanting stuff in the GE. It's the best of both worlds now!

I'd like to see one person that got rich overnight merchanting. Excluding those cases where somebody decides to quit and practically gives away a rare or something, of course - those can happen to anybody.

Don't fool yourself that merchin' was fast cash. Sure, I got rich merchanting, but it's only a better car, not a rocket.

I'm considered fairly 'rich'

You're hilarious. :P

It hasn't affected my way of making money, as of yet. :|

Wow, just about everyone off topic.

I plan on doing what I always do, slayer, random favorite monsters, team monster hunting, and mainly barrows. I've made a good percentage of my money from barrows... and I see no reason why that'd change.

Man, I really do love Runescape, and I'm sure if it was a real person I would of asked it to marry me by now.

More monster hunting? They just screwed that over (twice) and then ran over it with a very big truck.

Plus I think the whole teenage girl thing will end soon (hopefully), because my girlfriend is absolutely in love with him(she is 18), and im beginning to feel threatened by his [Justin Bieber] dashing looks.

quick money..

does not exist in game.. it NEVER has (unless you were a merchanter and happened to come across a deal)

Here is the lowdown..

any skill requiring you to fight a monster or player gets you drops. this is your source of income..

it FEELS like quick money.. but you still had to work hard to get your skills.

anything requiring skill, you had to work hard to get that skill.. regardless if you lucked out and some new update gave you something good :)

the only time there was "FREE" money was when rares dropped.. and you got them yourselves and kept them...

nothing else.. it was all hard work blood sweat and tears.. :)

sorry to ruin your posts with a mini rant :)

I normally use skills to gain money anyways, so I'm still going to be at barrows, or on an assignment, etc. but now i expect to see more people there. Popular skilling spots will now be even more crowded...good luck competing with 30 other choppers for that 1 magic log.

Hail the spinach rolls!

I like it. I've always relied more on skills than pking and merchanting, or monster drops.

It goes to show you a steady source of income is better than a risky one.
