Does RuneScape needs 1000+ lvl monsters?
I agree, but I do not think Jagex should raise the 99 cap yet or any time soon. The 99 cap is one of the most important parts of the game. Besides, there are 1m(?) members, 6m(?) f2pers, and only 28 have the max skill total. Just 15500 have 99 hp, which seems like alot, but not when compared to the total number of players. Jagex could halve the hp damage of each hit. Instead of hitting 1, you hit .5. There are many possible answers though. I still think 1000+ level monsters are over kill. There is something too....game boysih about it, not sure what it is. I just don't like the sound of it. Edit- And I REALLY do not like the idea of losing exp when you die. Losing items is a nice penalty, even though Jagex is making it easier and easier to regain items (rol, 1min item spawn, instant teles, etc). At least with gwd, you need a 40 kc to go back in, so your items are gone if soloing. Halving damage would be quite a difficult feat; it'd be easier to reprogram the defense skill so that it actually reduces your opponent's maximum hit. Like say for every 9 levels of defense your opponent's maximum hit is reduced by 1. That would mean at 118 defense, your opponent would only hit a 30 if his or her max hit was 43. Also, I didn't mean increase the level cap on HP, just make it where you actually gain two points of life for every level.

Does RuneScape needs 1000+ lvl monsters?
Well, Artemis, it's that way in most rpgs. Players can only have 999 or 9999 HP, but bosses can have several hundred thousand. Also, I agree with the concept of a boss that requires everybody to work together, using strategy to beat a boss, rather than just the same old "pot, eat, hit, eat, hit, hit, eat, hit hit, eat, kill." However, Jagex has backed themselves into a corner. They cannot release a weapon more powerful than the Godsword, because of the 99 hp limitations. The current system they use limits monsters at a max of 255 HP, which means the only ways monsters' difficulty can expand is defensively and offensively. We already have a boss that can hit up to 69 in a 'dangerous zone'(General Kee'ara), so what's next, a boss that can one hit any player for their items? There is really nowhere left to go, because of the system limitations. They need to revamp the system to give more HP than 1 per level, and possibly factor defense levels into how much maximum damage a player/monster receives.

The "Cost" Of A Mature Conversation?
I've gotten to the point where most of my conversations are in Clan Chat, Teamspeak, or in PMs. I rarely ever have detailed conversations with people in Public Chat, because you never know when there will be a level 40 just itching to slap the Report Abuse button. Besides, 80% of the people I encounter say one of the following: "wut pl8 is dat? wut sord is dat? how u got? weres god wars? can i hav 1m plzzzz"

There are so many autoers in f2p because it's free and entirely too easy to just create a new account.

Music Memory

Music Memory
Yeah, when I hear some of Nickleback or PoM's old songs, I often remember thieving in Ardougne in RuneScape Classic.

I agree. 19  Jad got pwned By the way, the next time some noob asks you to smith him free full rune, here's a trick that I learned from Priscilla: ask them if they have the bars, and if they say they don't (which is likely) then say that you can't smith rune out of thin air. That will most likely shut them up. :XD:

Lol Jagex does have a sense of humor after all. And I find it amusing that it's a level 92 begging you for full rune. One, he probably PC'd most of his levels, and two, he has an untrimmed fletching cape. How pathetic. :XD: To unspam:

Godsword Price Drop?
The prices may go up a bit now that it's far more dangerous in the GWD, due to the "1 minute rule."

LootShare 16 October 2007
What would you like to see done, then? And yes, it would make the most sense for items to appear immediately to those people in your Lootshare if you should die; otherwise, it makes KQing and GWD vastly more dangerous. But alas, expecting Jagex to use logic is like expecting the insurgents in the Middle East to willingly cease their hostilities, even though we mean their people well.

Halloween: Another let-down?
Most intelligent post in this thread. They have different teams who simultaneously work on different projects. However, I do partially agree with you. The only holiday items that are frequently used anymore are the Bunny Ears and the Rubber Chicken. The Ring of Egg was used frequently until Jagex nerfed the Egg + Skillcape Emote. Now, it sits in peoples' houses along with all the other rubbish that they give us like the Skeleton Suits. Also, if they didn't make Halloween updates, all the 10 year olds would pitch a fit and riot about it... And we know how Jagex values the kiddies over all other players.

Halloween: Another let-down?
It all depends on if the hood has a skeleton face or if it is just an ordinary black hood. If it is the latter, it will be disappointing and I was curse the masses of n00bs who voted for such an unoriginal idea, as well as Jagex for not being creative enough with it. :notalk:

Jagex Customer Support!!
Heh heh so you, too, became a victim of Jagex's policy on "Hey I know! I will throw another [cabbage] offense at him from over a year ago just to make it impossible to appeal it all!" Honestly, their game is becoming totally pathetic. And recently, they increased the drop rates on almost everything... If you don't believe me, go to world 2. Everything is down by several hundred K to several mil in prices... I doubt this game will last to 2010.

Godsword Price Drop?
As long as you hit a 1, it always works.

Godsword Price Drop?
Exactly how I feel. =D>

Godsword Price Drop?
Bleh, I paid 43m for my Godsword several weeks ago. I love it, so I am just going to hold onto it. I doubt the price will go below 35-40m. Chances are they will go back up, too.

Where are the boss monsters?
What an ignorant comment. Players aren't bosses; they are classified as something completely different. And pking really isn't a challenge if you know what to do; it's still too easy to escape. Btw, you sound like a stereotypical pure who can't type.
-
Where are the boss monsters?
True, But those monsters are almost 100000x harder to kill than any of the monsters on runescape... you gotta be really good.. a mistake could mess up your entire team.. Its like pking.. where alot of it is dependant on the leader.. if he screws up the entire team is screwed.. in Wow or other rpgs.. your individual task is alone hard enough.. Exactly. In the level 70 instances in WoW, one person (say, your healer) makes a mistake and dies, then your team gets wiped. Also, most of high level instances can only be done once in a given time period and take around three to six hours to complete.
-
Where are the boss monsters?
What they need is a very tough boss monster that is incredibly difficult to kill, but each person who deals over 25 damage to it gets a drop. The drops would all be part of one very powerful piece of equipment and be somewhat common, but you would need 4-5 very high level skills to assemble it, and it would be nontradable.

9 October 2007 - Back to my Roots quest
Looks like a fairly high-leveled quest. Me likey. On a side note, Jagex has STILL not fixed the goddamn two-handed sword Stab bug. :-s

OMG - left half is worth nothing!!!
If Jagex were smart, they would've made the Visage an addon to the Dragon Sq shield. However, one cannot use logic and Jagex in the same sentence.

Personality?
In rs, I am cynical and elitist. However, I am usually easygoing if you prove you aren't a moron. I have little tolerance for stupidity (ignorance is the lack of knowledge; stupidity is the lack of the will to learn knowledge), so anyone who shows me that they are at least somewhat mature and doesn't typ leik dis usually gets along great with me.
