  1. What happened, Bac? Did you get hacked?
  2. Most of the people who are whining are off-base on what is actually wrong with the Assist System. They whine it devalues levels, but it doesn't really... In a way, it makes them MORE valuable. What's wrong with it is it promotes senseless begging and chat spamming with "assist me plz!!!" I am sure all of you remember how horrible the Skill Cape noobs were, don't you? You know, the people who'd follow anyone wearing a cape and beg "do emo plz" Well, this is like that, only with a far greater magnitude. At the very least, they should've added an option to disable other people being able to follow you.
  3. The AS only succeeded in promoting begging. "You get exp for someone else using your skills." I'd rather get exp AND the product of the skill by doing the skill by MYSELF. The worst part is that it caused a massive uprising of beggars, and if a high level ventures into any moderately populated area, he or she will be swarmed by noob moochers who spam "assist plz plz plz plz." The ignore list is only so large, and it cannot begin to accommodate all the masses of idiots who follow you and beg.
  4. Most of those issues are small... Imo, the two biggest problems with PvP are hybriding and tagging. If they added a several turn delay for switching armor during combat, it would force people to stick to one class. Because of hybriding, the triangle is defunct. Tagging is pathetic; you eat twice and then some asshat steps in and dds specs you and then teles. Oh, and making most of the game PvP would be financial suicide for Jagex. Probably 90% of the players would quit; just about everything would become impossible. You couldn't collect resources for skills, go mine ores, chop logs, fish, do slayer, do clues, you name it.
  5. This update seems pretty much pointless then. For an anti-scam update, they could have done something better. People rarely got scammed by any means of this. Exactly, yet Jagex just assumed people would deal with it by "using the Ignore list." This problem is far larger than something that can be handled by ignoring noobs, because there is such a high volume of them, versus the limited capacity of the IL. Jagex once again proved that they are out of touch with their players, and their high level vetarans, in particular.
  6. Indeed, although there is a benefit of it. You can get 30k exp free in difficult skills, like smithing and crafting, for sitting there surfing the web while someone use provides his or her own resources.
  7. I honestly do not see the need for making you stand still with the window up. It'd be nice if the window replaced your skills interface, and you could still move. After all, 30k exp is nothing big, and can't really be abused.
  8. The worst part about this update is the new breed of noobs that it spawned. Like the skill capes spawned the ?emo plz" noobs, this update spawned the "assist plz" noobs. Although, for irritating skills like smithing, I'd gladly assist someone who asked, getting free experience from their material and labor, while I sit and browse forums.
  9. 1) You can only assist for a maximum of 20 squares; after that, it says "You are not close enough to your partner;" This means that all Construction items must be flackpacked. 2) The exp limit is based off TOTAL exp gained, not individual skills. 3) You cannot barrage or cast teleport spells through Assist. It only works for enchants or lunar assistance spells, such as Fertile Soil. I am not sure if it works with Spellbook Swap, but it probably doesn't. 4) The person who is assisting you must leave the assist window open. If s/he closes it, you stop receiving assistance. If you move, it closes it, too.
  10. The person you are getting assistance from has to stand still.
  11. No, in the KB article, it says you can only use enchant spells or the assist lunar spells.
  12. Ugh, this update devalues higher level skills.... You used to get a feeling of accomplishment at high levels, but now... Any noob can do high level stuff.
  13. I find that the D hally is substantially more effective against General Graardor, as he has high defense that usually nullfies the DDS specials.
  14. Rule 11 has its purpose, but the problem is that Jagex's automated program does not differentiate between "Go to iama[wagon].com for free rs2 gp" and "check the tip it quest guide." You receive the same punishment for both, despite one being completely harmless. Hell, even Jagex Mods have heard of Tip.It, seeing as they have been spotted in the Tip It Clan Chat before.
  15. This is a fair point. (Made by others as well.) It is true that some people DO cheat/hack/whatever.. and they also maintain innocence. And we are left to really wonder, because in the end, we don't know. My problem is that I think the presumption of innocence is important, and that the appeals process should be respected. It seems here like this person was not even given a fair chance. Indeed, with Jagex, you are guilty until proven innocent. Although, I've heard that is how the English legal system operates. I don't live in England, so I wouldn't know the validity of that claim.
  16. You mean' While sitting on the toilet using 100 pound notes as toilet paper. """ man I miss the good old days, when the players loved us and appreciated what we made""" Not that I blame them. They must laugh at those who cant think for themselves and believe every word they say. \ +1 People who believe Jagex is doing a good job are naive. Just look at the two veterans IN THIS COMMUNITY who were recently perm-banned based off bull**** evidence. Just look at all the many, many people who cry for certain things to be fixed month after month, but Jagex decides it is more prudent to throw out a half-baked quest here and there and update the graphics on chickens. Yes, Jagex does try with updates like the Shop Update, but there is so much more they could do better, provided they were actually willing to sacrifice some of their immense profits. The things they do wrong vastly outweigh the things they do right.
  17. Jagex can not sue. We have the rights. Freedom of Speech, and Freedom of the Press. I suggest putting that article right back up on the Tip.It Times, and then see what Jagex does. I second that. Ixfd64, I'm sorry to hear about this happening to you. It is this sort of nonsense that motivates people like myself, who are active critics of Jagex's awful customer support and lack of care and consideration for its customers. I hope you can get this resolved. ~q Jagex is just your stereotypical big business now. All they care about is money; they shove their loyalists aside, as they know that they could ban those people and it won't make any difference, as even though the aforementioned loyalist may have five friends that leave because of Jagex's poor treatment of their friend, fifteen naive kiddies who don't question anything will take their places. Nothing will ever change until more people start leaving than entering, which won't happen until the game is on the verge of being shut down. In conclusion, we lose and Jagex wins.
  18. Sue for what??? Libel? LMAO. It's not libel, because Jagex is totally guilty of it. If I were the webmaster of Tip.It, I would've told Andrew Gower to blow it out his [wagon] because he has no case. Oh, and look: Zot Muske got perm banned for Rule 11, which makes me think she said tip.it and some noob reported her for it. Her first appeal was immediately declined, but her last chance appeal was accepted, so now she is on 10/10 black marks, meaning the least little thing any noob reports her for will get her banned for good.
  19. This is totalitarianism at its finest. Jagex bans one of its most loyal players, whom THEY awarded modship, based on a false premise. God, this makes my blood boil... :x
  20. Actually, a more appropriate analogy would be that noob is used as a substitute for the insult "gay," which is HIGHLY overused by prepubescent and early adolescent children. Both words completely lost their meaning due to extensive overuse, and both words smack of immaturity and a lack of creativity and/or intelligence.
  21. 1.4k+ cw tickets? :uhh: Yeah, relatively low considering how many people have more. We shouldn't have a ticket requirement anyway imo, as it just shows how much you play, not skill but *shrug* i'm not the boss lol Wow, lol. I was going to apply to join until I saw that requirement. I only have around 200 tickets.
  22. z0mg mayb da new updayt will b 3D sumoning!!11 itd be kool 2 sumon 3d monstars, no? Jesus it was difficult writing that. I actually have to stop and think in order to type that poorly :|
  23. Nice :D My first dragon drop was a left half from a fire giant on my 16th birthday. I sold it for 3m, which was an immense amount to me back then :-w It's a shame the left half is worthless these days. The shield itself goes for 650k, which is 100k less than the SHOP PRICE OF THE RIGHT HALF. That means you're best off just alching the left half. :(
  24. Very true... For a quest to be deemed as "Master Level" a couple years ago, it meant it was very challenging and also very long. Now, Master Quests are a joke; any quest you can complete in less than an hour should not be rated as Master Level, unless it involves fighting a monster than hits frequent 30+ on you, which has yet to be seen. The closest thing to that was Barrelchest, and he only hit up to around 26, which is very easy to double-eat out of.
