  1. If he was worth getting to know he wouldnt have started his initial posts with merchant hatred and foaming at the mouth. I dont need to get to know him to know what kind of person he is based off of what he said. There is debating and hten there is resorting to any form of personal attack or arugment to prove a point. I am simply playing his game and retaliating, like I said, fihgt ignorance with more ignorance, cept I have mr. 10 bil on my side :) More pompous parading... Your argumentum ad nauseum is getting old. I suggest you use something else to back up your arguments other than "z0mg j00 r jeluz of mai geepees and becuz of mai geepees i r moar smartar dan you and know wot i am talking aboot bettar dan u!!!" It's just not working for you.
  2. The only way this game will be good is if: 1) Jagex makes the majority of their updates for the high-level player base. 2) Jagex nixes that "higher is not better" bullcrap that holds back RS. If I spend the time getting to a high level, I do NOT want to be beaten by a lower level with far inferior stats. The same applies to skills. 3) Jagex actually expends some money into decent Customer Support. That is one of the biggest problems with RS. 4) Jagex makes the game based on skill, not luck. This ties into the "higher is not better" thing, but is a little different. Everything in RS is based on luck, from performing skill-based activities such as Agility, to drops. Skills are practically worthless for making money in RS, with the exception of Rune Crafting.
  3. Possibility of those storage boxes still in shops is slim , also it seems like most of them ended up in Taiwan. That is not what i fear most. But will more and more chinese employers missuse their possibility of infecting un used storage systems. (I do say chinese only because most computer hardware happens to be made there due to low cost, not because i say that chinese people is more likely to do that ). Do we only se the start of some few ppls attempt to get their hand on virtual goods or is this case just execptional. Sure there have been more and more reports of chinese hackers lately. But most of those seems to be somewhat official. Feel free to comment anyway the article is http://www.channelregister.co.uk/2007/11/12/maxtor_infected_hdd_updated/ NUKE CHINA!!! :uhh: Srsly, first they try to poison our kids and now they try to steal our st00fs. :-w
  4. I've said the same thing, too. Most of the top players account share, at the very least. There is no other plausible way they could earn as much experience in as short a time period as they do. But the public always retorts with "but jadex wud ban dem" No, it would look unprofessional on Jagex's behalf if they banned someone who was in the top ten in total levels. Therefore, they turn the other cheek.
  5. Confirmed. You get roughly 13.5k prayer experience for doing it.
  6. First, where do you get a slimy eel and the whitefish, and second, where do you get the 'shrooms?
  7. Other than that most pures drop trade items, are immature loudmouths, and abuse a flaw in the combat system? I am all for depowering pures. You should NOT be able to use high level items without the stats. If Jagex has the spine to fix the Prayer Interface Bug, which was used by probably 85% of the RS population, then I know they are capable of making it so that pures could not wield d hide chaps and furies. So what if a bunch of whiny 9 year olds flood the rants forum? That's what stickies and mods are for. Lock the excess threads and ban the creators. After enough miscreants are banned, the others will get the message and stop replicating threads about it.
  8. I agree that Merchanting takes more actual real-world skill than any of the in-game skills. I am a part-time merchant, you might say, but I don't merchant anything in particular, as I stated earlier. I merchant what currently offers the best deal, and if nothing offers a good deal, I pass and go back to Slaying. Merchanting takes immense patience and a thorough knowledge of how the RS economy works.... It's based largely on speculation, but certain trends in the economy can be predicted through past experience. For example, I knew that the Zamorak Godswords would be pushed up by the hardcore merchants after the Zammy Boss "bugfix," so I watched the price carefully, waiting until it peaked. Then I took action and sold mine for 4m more than I paid. Within an hour later, they were back down to within 500k of their original price. It's all timing and patience.
  9. I merchant, but not intentionally. Usually, when I am passing through world 2 to sell items that I got from Slayer, I take a gander at the God Wars items, which are the big area of interest these days. If the prices are high, I sell and then rebuy. If they are low, I keep on walking. Basically, when I merchant, it's a spur of the moment thing. I don't purposely sit there and spam "buying all shards 800k each" and then try to sell them for 1m each.
  10. What exactly is so "ownage" about the Saradomin (non-GS) Sword? It looks to me like the single most overrated piece of equipment to come out of the GWD. Well, it's arguably the best weapon for strength training... But it is only marginally better than the D scimitar, and it costs about 2600x more.
  11. Soliciting a relationship in RS can be reported under Rule 1. Oh, btw.... Hi Cutie, cyber pl0x?
  12. 60% of all statistics are made-up 90% of the time.
  13. It's possible that I misunderstood, but I read his/her comments as saying he/she would prefer a sara sword over a sara GS straight up. I've certainly heard other people say this. Anyway, I don't care what people want to use, but so many of the opinions tossed around about high-end items are from people who have never used them and just don't know what they can do. For example, I've seen comments like "the sara GS is the worst one for dueling", which is pretty funny to anyone who has used one in a no-food spec-on duel and seen the reaction of his or her opponent. ;) Hmm, well that explains it. And I would want to see someones face when I sara spec them. Unfortunally, Im too poor. And the saradomin sword is ownage. In my opinion looks better then a whip and can train strength, although its 2-handed. I wouldnt mind laying down 26m for one. Whip + DFS > Sara Sword, hands down. Oh, and you have at least 1m left over if you go with the dfs/whip combo, too.
  14. Not to mention the fact that it can also heal and restore prayer points. To be entirely honest, I don't care what other people think, they are as good as each other for certain things, one thing might be better than another for something else. It depends ENTIRELY on the situation you are using it for. The Sara Sword, not the Sara GS. The Sara Sword is the one that is long and pointy, with 82 attack and 82 strength and hits as fast as a whip. It has a superior special attack and can train strength, but it's still not worth throwing down 26-28m.
  15. The Saradomin Sword is a huge waste of money. It's basically a two-handed whip that can train strength. Just use a d scim + rune defender.
  16. I just mooch off of friends' altars :P And here's the prayer levels required for each combat level once you get max stats: 82 = 124 90 = 125 98 = 126 At 81 prayer, I will be as strong as I can get at level 123 combat... I don't want to go to 124.
  17. Defense doesn't seem to do jack **** in PvP, which explains why Pures are so popular. 70 defense is the best for PvP, seeing as your armor impacts how much you're hit far more than your defense level does. But honestly, the reason you lost was because of the [cabbage]ty luck-based randomness of the combat system. This is the only RPG where higher is not better. However, defense does make a noticable difference against monsters.
  18. Most PKers are [wagon]. You can see proof of that with many of the famous PKers having perm mutes... What's even more infuriating is when you tele out, bank, get your PKing gear, and go challenge them and then they run away instead of accepting. They are insecure cowards. However, a good tip to use is to look at the building that has the men inside of it. Many RC pkers camp by the side of the building, waiting for someone to appear at the glory spot skulled. If that person runs out into the wildy, the person "scouting" goes and gears up and then runs out there, awaiting for the RCer to return on his next trip.
  19. Sorry, but it's not that simple. The analysis you quoted is like using theoretical benchmarks to say one piece of hardware is better than another -- those who have used these weapons in the real world know differently. In a duel against a whip and a rune defender, the godsword will almost always win because of KO ability and accuracy. Sure, the whip is faster, but you have to take into account that each hit rolls the same formula; it doesn't stack. That means one hit with the Godsword is still more accurate and still more powerful than two hits with the Whip. Now, against a charged DFS, a Godsword is at a disadvantage....
  20. I have many friends who feel as though they must no life skills, because they are so paranoid that Jagex will do something to try to fix what ain't broken and consequently end up ruining their current method of training. I, myself, don't skill much as I find most skills are a waste of time and money, but I can see where they are coming from.... Jagex nerfs stuff needlessly, without getting any imput from the players beforehand. They are sooooo out of touch with their players, and I think that's why most people complain. Jagex creates updates like the Assistance System and Pure Essence without even considering what reprecussions it will have on the community. If they actually played their own game, they would know that high levels are continually barraged by noobs, and the Assist System exacerbated the problem.... They would know how broken many of the skills like mining and smithing are.
  21. Armadyl Armor owns all the current ranged armors, anyway, in both looks and stats.
  22. I agree. Where does the filter draw its lines on what is shorthand/jargon and what is actual gibberish/idiocy? Would stuff like "buy dfs" or "selling full guth" get censored? And I agree that if Jagex put a censor like this in, probably 90% of the customers would quit. I mean, just look... More people would report someone who's spamming for BUG ABUSE than Offensive Language.... That just goes to show how ineffably stupid they are. The rs forums also show how badly this would affect the game. One in five people make threads with absent grammar and horrible spelling...
