using a game maker is wrong, its all well and good for personal fun but don't ever expect it to be released.

I don't think you're serious about making a game, if you were you would know not to go about it in this way, do you know how to code a game or are you using a pre-downloaded program that does it for you because if so I just wouldn't bother. You need actual pixel artists who know how to make graphics, no one on this forum can give you the quality needed. And asking random people for storylines and stuff is just.. I don't understand at all.. Do you have anything better to do? IF I were to go about making a similar game I'd make all the graphics, start by doing loads of drawings, storyboards, start designing characters, design tiles, build mockups (of what it would look like in-game).. Start on some concept art and have the work to 'show' if what you want to do is give an idea.

Be prepared and make room for flexibility, it won't go exactly to plan but having rehersed things to say is always good to keep you on track, leave room for questions and get people involved, it takes the tension of you and turns into to something the audience can relate to. Being funny helps too even when you're doing something serious.

heres a sprite idea, fighting position. probably totally wrong but its an idea I just cooked up just now.

you still need to widen the feet too by one pixel either side ( <- 1px- feet -1px-> ) maybe you widened it on the inside of the legs (when you run your feet don't point 'in'), it just doesn't look like the feet are coming closer, it may seem odd when your pixeling the feet larger but it does give the right result..

yeah people are different time zones too, when I wake up in the morning sometimes I get the impression that people have wondered were I went.. I was sleeping!..?! :wall:

the problem is it doesn't look like the legs are moving much (looks like he's tip-toe'ing), and especially animating a guy character the movements should be much more exagerated if you really want it to look like he's running. ->to-> heres how I'd start to change it.. 1st frame - widened the foot by 1 pixel so it looks like its coming closer to the screen 2nd frame - widened the knee in the same way its played pretty quickly so it gives the impression that there's depth to the image. 3rd frame - widened the foot by 1 pixel so it looks like its coming closer to the screen again 4th frame - brought the knee up to exagerate the movements more (did the same with the first frame too) 5th frame - widened the knee in the same way as the 2nd frame, Id also like to mention that lighter shades tend to raise parts and darker shades push them back, its a good idea to make the most of your shading. hope that helped Edit - ooh forgot to mention, nice sprite :thumbsup: Plus maybe a change in the frame rate? maybe not too noticable but it makes a big difference >> instead of a 0.1 second gap in between each I made the 1st, 3rd and 5th into no delay because whilst running your foot moves quickly up to when it hits mid-air and again till when you touch down..

well the more you challenge yourself the better you will become, if there's something you've never done of course it'll take times before you learn how to do it, no matter how many previous things you've done before.. You wont be getting worse at all.. for example if you're awesome and drawing characters and all you've done previously is characters with blank backgrounds and you get continuously better don't be suprised when you come to do a background the quality is much worse, the best way is to just challenge yourself in all aspects of your work, just keep going whether you feel your getting worse of not, you'll find that you're actually better than you originally thought. also don't worry about style, I read a quote in this animation book im reading atm it says 'don't worry about making your own style, learn to draw first and your own style will just happen.'.

may I suggest.. saturation is how bold the colour is, from bright red to dull, the darker you've shaded with the skin the more saturated you've selected.

first one - shading is pretty awesome, especially the hair and the top.. my only concern with it is the skin's shading doesn't have the same depth as the rest of the image, up the contrast a bit, add some browns and highlights. second one - again looks pretty good, you're a natural with anime.. only niggle would be the left eye looks slightly larger than the right, pulling the face over slightly, erm hard to explain but you did a great job considering its just a lined paper drawin. third one - lol u can see the rubbings :lol: .. I think the proportions are fab, it definately needs inking up.. fourth one - veery blurry, took on your camera non the less haha, looks very interesting, pastel is pretty messy to work with but I think it looks great, the top of the mountains look like cracked open coconuts, great use of colour your a really good artist. :

I was just thinkin of making something for the battle of the pixelers, and giving it away.. not then making something else, not taking any signature requests atm sry.. :( so does no one have any crits to give?? geez im startin to think being hypocritical isn't so bad..
