  1. Looks like you're running low on RAM.
  2. I hate to go down this road again, but there are no viruses for OS X. Only select malware - and there is a difference. Most of the AV services offered for the OS X platform only scan for Windows based devices. Hence the inclusion of the ClamAV program into OS X Server but not into the consumer addition. He would be better off by uninstalling any AV program and freeing up those processes. But I also see that you have installed several constantly running programs. It might be beneficial to open up the Activity Monitor and show us the list. Afterwards, if it is clear that the software is not conflicting, we could try resetting the PRAM and the NVRAM.
  3. Open up disk utility and verify/repair disk permissions.
  4. Yeah, no calls while online, using Maps, etc. :( by no calls, you mean straight to voice mail? not even a chance to take the call? Does the droid do it too? i'm cool with the $30 Dataplan, Chump change really for the service it provides. Because of the nature of Verizon's network (pre LTE, that is), you are not able to be on a call and surf the internet at the same time. I believe that the call takes precedent over data. For instance, you are able to take a call while using data, but you are not able to return to that data until after the call has been completed. If that makes sense.
  5. Yeah, no calls while online, using Maps, etc. :(
  6. Moved to T&C. The data plans on Big Red won't be any better than AT&T, and if they are, AT&T will swiftly match their price - which is good for the consumer. I won't be switching (if it becomes available) because AT&T has superb service here.
  7. I'd get it cut, but I've always liked shorter haircuts on men. So maybe that's not for you. :P
  8. Seems like the media is blowing this whole thing up. Perhaps they've been planning to go to Spain for years? Or perhaps it was her daughter's desire - even before being in the spotlight. I know that if I had the money, I would be spending the next few weeks on the beaches in Spain.
  9. Define "well." The Toshiba would probably run it the best, but I doubt if it'll run at max. It'll do what you want though, especially if you're not big on spending a whole lot.
  10. Nah, it's cool. Thanks. :)
  11. Aww, well where do you guys get all these hip pictures?
  12. Umm... that was funny. A year ago.
  13. The people in T&C should be able to help you! ;) Moved.
  14. Guys, I've been watching this thread lately and some of the conversations are a bit too much. Let's try to keep it clean.
  15. You can pick up a male to male 2.5" audio jack for about $5 at a local store. Just plug it into the TV and then into the headphone port of the laptop.
  16. IGPUs/GPUs are generally not replaceable in laptops; you would have to buy a new one.
  17. If both computers share the same network, and there is such a vast difference, then it's probably the computer itself having difficulty. My guess would be that you have an integrated graphics card that just can't handle the load. RAM would only play a part if you're maxing out the 2GB.
  18. We would need the specifications of your computer to diagnose any difficulties that you may be having.
  19. I fail to see how the VRAM is the limiting factor, except if op has either a resolution of 1920x1080 or has more than one screen, that's where it will limit, else it shouldn't. Heck, I have a 9800GT 512MB, am on dual screen and fail to notice much difference when playing games. The things I would upgrade in that computer would be the OS (Windows XP is so old...) to Windows 7 Pro x64 and the processor, even though it's a very good processor, there are stronger ones (and still on LGA775). It's probably the GPU, and not the VRAM, that's limiting him right now. Any CPU that he buys for a 775 won't make much difference, unless he upgrades to one of the 3.0Ghz+ C2Ds. But that doesn't make much sense for such a nominal benefit, and even then you get less performance on games that utilize the four cores. Might as well just OC the Q6600, which is pretty easy to do on that chip - providing you have cooling methods in place. RAM is probably fine too, at 4GB, but I don't know how you have things set up.

Please stay on topic, guys. ;)
  21. Locked on request.
  22. Neither of those options fill the capacity that he wants.
  23. This? It's on the store's webpage. In any case, there are no iPod Classics available in the AU refurb store. If you want a lot of storage, that's how I would go, though. For flash media (32GB and under) I would go with the SanDisk MP3s, as others have suggested. I was going to suggest the education discount to you, but it doesn't affect the Classic. :(
  24. Yes, It happens to me all the time. You have to change your system preferences to display 16bit colours, rather than 32. I then usually run it in compatibility mode with Windows 2000 (or is it 95? Check on the disc) and select colour compatibility for 256 colours. If that still does not work, I press the alt and tab keys a few times.
