  1. While I am glad that you received your answer, please note for future reference that Tip.it does not allow users to post their homework assignments. Such assistance is, usually, best left to the professor or a tutor. :)
  2. I share the same opinion.
  3. That wasn't what I was getting at... Unless I am mistakenly jumping to conclusions and you're wanting to e-mail the file to a professor or something.

[hide=] I dont mean to be biased, sorry for that. I have done a lot of research and not once have I read that smoking at a young age increases the chance of hallucinations, where did you read that? Ive been smoking for 12 years and during that time I've gotten a degree in digital media, kept the same girlfriend (Soon to be fiancé), and I now make 75,000$ a year editing videos for a newspaper's website. I've not once tried "stronger" drugs, and yes, it does take me larger amounts to get high, but the difference from when I began smoking and now is not very much. I would like to point out that when I say 'Live high" I really mean it. Wake and bake, smoke throughout the day (Yes, on my lunch hour, I use Visine, body spray and mints, and no-one has noticed, plus it hasn't negatively affected my work.) so saying you aren't actually happy is wrong, because when I am high, I am happy, and I am always high. I understand that this is not always the case, but the same can be said for your disadvantages. [/hide]Until they get around to doing drug tests.

    Buy some Zoomers. :shades:
  7. Yeah, I too was thinking that it was the overscanning. But perhaps someone more knowledgeable with the situation can elaborate.

More bandwidth and no royalties, as far as I know.
  9. No, Dell does it too - unless you purchase a business machine. But even so, Dell usually comes in as the lowest bidder which is why the U.S. Military uses them.
  10. It's a bit slower than the X25-M, but it's pretty solid; I don't think you can go wrong with an Intel controller. However, it might be worthwhile to take a look at some of the benchmarks out there for each SSD. I tried looking for the 40GB Vertex 2, but I didn't find much.
  11. I'm not quite sure I follow. What's the difference between the sequential and random? Sequential is when the drive is "warmed up," per se, where a large volume of data is written in succession. To give an example, moving large files within the drive will make use of the fast sequential write times (taking videos, moving videos or large apps, etc). However, when you give a quick command to the OS the drive responds with a very fast random read/write (copying small files, cache/swap files, etc) because the data is written all over the drive. If you're just wanting an OS drive, then you for sure want a drive with fast random read/write times (well, emphasis more on the read times, as I'm assuming that you're keeping other files on the HDD). The reason manufacturers generally don't state random read/write times is because most consumers are not informed about the difference between the two, and sequential almost always ends up with the higher number. Here's a comparison of my G1 SSD and my prior 5,400 RPM HHD, if you're interested. It shows the difference between the sequential and random times. I know that my explanation probably leaves a little to be desired but I learned through experience with one of the JMicron controllers. If you're interested on a more in-depth clarification, take a look at this article. The SSD comparisons are dated to be sure, but it's good info.
  12. If I may offer some advice as a current owner of an SSD. The Vertex 2 only offers a higher sequential write speed but lags behind in random write times. The Intel G2 drive is superior in the case of the latter. I would seriously reconsider the Intel drive just because of this, as it is frequently used more often by consumers (ie: OS writing files, downloads, etc).
  13. Interesting - that always cured it for me. My apologies.
  14. Moved to Help & Advice.
  15. It's because you have Adblock set to block ads within YT. Occasionally, it'll mess up.
  16. Where are you guys seeing this thread? :o I thought I merged that one months ago. Welcome everyone! Tip.it truly is a superb community.
  17. Eh, it works that way in theory at least. There have been a few criticisms as far as how well it works. It doesn't really detect when the GPU is being taxed. Nvidia just preselects programs and puts them on a list to determine if either the IGP or the GPU should be used. However, this doesn't always work well, as the IGP can be pushed to the limit, but it is unable to switch to the GPU because Nvidia does not have that specific program linked to the "GPU list." But perhaps it's gotten better since I last heard about it.
  18. First, if you haven't already done so, go up the apple in the upper left hand corner and click on "Software Update." If nothing is new, try using Firefox; I find Safari a bit lacking for playing Runescape. If you want to use Safari, you could try putting it in into 32-bit mode. To do this open up the Finder, navigate to Applications, right click on Safari and choose Get Info. The window that opens should have an option to open Safari in 32-bit mode. Now, if you already have Safari open, you'll need to quit it for the changes to take place. Make sure that Safari is the active window and hold down command+Q or mouse up to Safari in the menu bar and choose Quit. Reopen Safari and see if it makes a difference. I have a Macbook and it works fine, so it's just a software thing. Don't be scared into thinking that OS X doesn't play Runescape. :P
  19. It has been shown that the benefit of dual-channel memory is offset by the benefit of having more memory.
  20. Without a monitor, I wouldn't pay that price.
  21. What browser are you using? This is quite a common problem.
  22. Yup, the best upgrade you could do for your computer would be to upgrade to 4GB of RAM. It's alright when you first boot up, but as soon as you load up iTunes, Safari, etc, space is going to get a little tight. That's probably what you are experiencing as a slow down.

I too have a list. Although I have since quit Runescape and, as a result, have stopped updating the guide. http://forum.tip.it/topic/254632-daily-activities/
  24. Alright, so reboot your computer and immediately, before doing anything, open up Activity Monitor and take a screenshot. Then post it.
