  1. Photoshop and other Adobe products, and things like QuarkExpress are industry standard. That means people like me who want to go into professional design have to buy these products to experience with, I'd never get employed based off my knowledge of GIMP and Inkscape. For people who just want to practise amateur graphics, these free opensource programmes are fantastic.
  2. Locked, Pryomancer.
  3. GIMP is better than paint.net, as many people say. www.gimp.org

My worst habit is procrastination, without a doubt. I can't remember the last time I didn't do a piece of homework the night before it was due. Grats on 1000th post. :P
  5. I remember when I first heard about this and saw the trailer. I had an opinion on it, but I can't remember what that opinion was. Also, I fixed your video.
  6. I'm making this topic because I've just seen the most incredible photo that I have ever seen. This: http://earthobservatory.nasa.gov/IOTD/view.php?id=7314 It's a genuine real photo of Saturn, as taken by the Cassini shuttle, over a billion kilometres (!) from Earth. This is on a completely different level from the space art people make. This photo is real, and it's just mind boggling. You can also see our planet, too, that's what really makes it special. Our planet is just that tiny, minute, minescule dot, next to this incredible planet that is impossibly far away and illuminated by our Sun. So what photos do all of you find most beautiful/incredible etc?
  7. You can't apply it? Do you mean that you are actually unable to?
  8. Yep: How I got Scammed - I'll know better next time. Please use the existing topic. Locked, Pryomancer.

  10. The reason we have an advertising thread is for people to put all the stuff we don't want to read into one place.

I watched a video on it and there is a part that is basically EXACTLY the same. I'v listened to both songs. Theres a simple chord thats the same but it appears but nothing more then that. Is that enough to bring a lawsuit? It's Satriani's solo and the vocal melody on Viva La Vida. They are exactly the same.
  12. Macbeth is his best play in my opinion, really fantastic. People who say movies are better than books are people who clearly haven't actually tried to read a book. There's something so amazing about creating the scenes and characters in your mind, as opposed to staring blankly at a screen. That said, I do like to see an interpretation of a book into a film, especially epics like The Lord of the Rings.
  13. I thought it was pretty funny. 38 years sounds more like he hacked into the FBI's systems...
  14. I'd rather have a wired rollerball mouse than a wireless laser one which doesn't like to track and click because of its crappy connection.
  15. Michael Crichton was a great author, I've read Jurassic Park a few times, and Disclosure, that was brilliant. I've also read The Hobbit liike 4 times, it's a very good read. I remember having to read To Kill A Mockingbird for English at school over the holidays. At first I hated it  now though I recognise it obviously as one of the best novels ever written.
  16. I'm not a gamer, but I use Avast! antivirus and comodo firewall, with Ad-Aware also installed. This was recommended by Clare I think, and it's a great setup. I used to have norton360, and I'd say there's a difference in performance now.
  17. Rofl yer you can do it paint but yeh when you resize it gets stuffed up. Anyway here.. guys so tiny .. You'll need to resize it, it's still above the filesize limit of 20kb.
  18. 6.0GHz, that's impressive. I'd go for an Intel if I ever need a new processor, but this thing is pretty tempting.
  19. You really don't want a wireless one, I hate mine with a passion. Laser mice are good, although maybe out of your budget I think.
  20. That's some nice wikipedia research you did there. My thing is design and graphics, I'd say I've got a decent eye for it.
  21. I've scanned it with avast! and it hasn't found anything suspicious, but to be sure I'd like another mod to double check, not that I doubt it's fine or anything.
