  1. If you don't pay, you don't get to complain, IMHO. F2P start might be good for the game, but Jagex will never get a cent from those f2p'ers who would be eligible for these capes.
  2. Martingales always end up losing. No matter after how much time and how much success. Always. On a real 50/50 game, you should expect no return on your investment, and no loss either. Only sheer luck can get you a win. Or badluck a loss.
  3. Lol, this makes me sad. I have 222 days, and 2221 total level. Please tell me you have 222,1 days. (2-3 hours) As for myself, 120 days done, and I believe 80 more would be enough to max out.
  4. And I thought RC cape was hard to get... Oh well :P
  5. No. Why? Because people don't give a [cabbage] anymore about your levels, so getting them for bragging rights is irrelevant. Therefore, if you don't enjoy getting the levels, you should find another game.
  6. Mod Edit: Removed quote of a deleted post. Please report offtopic/offensive posts in the future, thank you! :) ~ Kimberly OT : Why don't you do some slayer with the level 102? It's a nice way to get some cash, while raising your stats rather quickly. Plus you'll most likely find the diversity to make the game sustainable.
  7. superheating gold with gloves has the advantage of being fast, simple, and to give a ton of smithing experience... If you value it at all. Roughly 115-120k mage xp/h, 120-125k smith xp/h
  8. A dragon longsword is pretty much a dragon scimitar, and requires a much easier quest (lost city). In fact, on the way to 70 attack (whip) I'm not sure it's worth it to actually do the quest. Just do lost city and grab a dragon longsword, then get 70/70/Whatever you are in def, buy a whip with the money made from the drops while getting these levels, and level your def to be at 70/70/70. From then, ideally slay with the whip on controlled, to keep your stats even, especially strength, which is impossible to train alone with a whip. As said earlier, you should get these while slaying. Vannaka is a pretty darned good slayer master at your level. Prayer 43 is a must if you have the money. Summoning : Colect the charms, and whenever you have enough for 68, you're in business with a bunyip, which is a mid-level slayer's best friend. But, more importantly, try a bit of everything else : See what you like/dislike and hate, and only do stuff you enjoy doing. Why? Because this is a game. If you happen to like dungeoneering, a chaotic rapier is an awesome weapon, which is better than a whip.
  9. I did superheat gold from abot 80 to 99, not even AT the furnace, because I was lazy as [cabbage], and my best xp gains were 240k an hour, which was about 125k smith/115k magic per hour. Easy to do if you have 2 screens, so you can watch a movie or something.
  10. So basically, I'm getting ripped? Wow, I should hire a 100$/hour lawyer to defend my case. If he can book the case in 50 hours, I'll have got my money back in 15 152 years. Oh wait, there are some years with 29 days in february, so a "little" bit more time :P
  11. At the end of the day, how is playing RS different from playing guitar (well, obviously if not being paid to play...)? Same as reading books, same as a bucketload of things that doesn't get frown upon. If you spent your whole life doing only productive things, 2 things would happen: 1) People would admire you. 2) You'd hate your life. Just [bleep] off and let people do whatever they want of their lives. After all, you could spend a lot of time getting a Ph.D. and ending up working on a theory that doesn't work for the rest of your life. How unproductive is that?
  12. I'm probably well under 20 hours a week, but I feel a limit would be stupid. I had foot surgery during last summer. What the heck would I do except being on the computer and/or reading? Nothing. And, back then, I was at way more than 20 hours a week. Live and let live.
  13. To make it simple: When you put in an offer, the GE tries to find another offer that either matches it or is better. If sold instantly, you will receive the highest offer's worth. If bought instantly, you will have paid the lowest offer available (as long as it is over your price). Then, if it isn't instant, you offer will be dealt with at the exact value you put in. at least, that is from my experience. Maybe there are some subtilities with the buying limit, but anyway, that covers most of the question, I'd say.
  14. Well, my dragon chainbody from dust devils, abyssal whip and 3 effigies in 2 days whereas I only had 2 from the release of effigies seem to differ.
  15. My personnal theory is that someone wanted to change the droprate from x to 1,00%, and forgot a ",". It probably wasn't detected as it was a last minute change... But sure... Obviously someone would lose his/her job and credibility to give a sigil to a friend.
  16. Abyssal demons Abyssal whip It did shine About 1/100 kills Spiritual mages Dragon Boots Not sure wether it shined or not... I think it did. Dust Devils Dragon Chainbody 1/150 It shined.
  17. I'd say just grab a barrow's set. (Torag is pretty cost-efficient, last I checked), a black mask, and slay until you have cash for the better stuff.
  18. Hmm... Well, shame on me. I mean, after reading that, I remembered, but... Anyway. I couldn't care less. What would it take for me to quit? -Not liking the game.
  19. Glad to hear Paperbag is feeling better. I was worried while I was catching up to that thread.
  20. No. He will most probably get some 50m's to claim the title of most 50m's and then continue slayer. That would be my guess... Also, great forum!!! I have been checking hiscores daily since I retired a few years ago. But I didn't know about this forum and topic. It is fun to see that there are more hiscores-enthousiasts out there :) On another note. I don't know whether or not it is mentioned already, but Allar has a big achievement coming up. He is about to get/surpass 2,606,886,200 xp or equivalent to a staggering 200 x lvl 99's An amazing feat considering that there are only 25 skills. That would mean that he has enough xp to resemble 99 in every skill 8 times. Wow, I never thought of that one!
  21. If glove came out for herblore, prices would be just as screwed. Only for a longer time. Nah, bonus XP weekends are awesome. The weeks previous to it are great, the preparation is fun and there is a very cool atmosphere during these days.
  22. Say whatever you want, I finally got in range of the overloads for a very decent price, making useful potions (extremes). My only regret is that I didn't have more money to blow on it.
  23. Did my ten hours - finally. 92 attack, almost 93 constitution, 93 herblore, 73 agility and 85 slayer Quite productive.
