  1. What I want to see is Summoning being released as F2P, and reg.ess able to be crafted into runes for Summoning (seems likely). Prices for reg. ess would skyrocket. :D Plus, with no ess being botted, as you have previously mentioned, it would be any miner's dream come true.
  2. The only way this will be possible is if Summoning won't use life runes to summon, which means no life runes=less demand for pure essence=TONS of money lost from those people gambling something based on idle speculation, even with profits from crafting them into Natures, and other high-level runes. ... Unless the buyers can double craft with natures.
  3. Not to mention being completely self-sufficient kills off the market and trade embargo, anyway.
  4. Buying pure ess at insane prices just because of mere speculation over a skill is a huge gamble. If no runes are utilized with the release of the summoning skill, people can just use their ess to still make a profit. And how much are nats? 250-300 ea.? You can still make a decent profit from buying all that essence, because pure ess still isn't worth more than nats are, so you aren't losing any money, but that's IF you have rune crafting level of 44, and even more profit if you can double craft, triple craft, etc. I think the Dev. Diaries play a good role with the pure ess prices, as well. Since Jagex stated they are going to create another Dev. Diary talking about the release instead of actually releasing it, Jagex might drop hints about some sort of rune being used for summoning. And of course, this will effect F2P if Summoning is made F2P, because, who knows, Jagex might make it so life runes can be crafted from regular essence as well, because it is such a hugely anticipated update, and who says the life runes will be a high-level rune? Jagex decides that.
  5. now we can start laughing at people who say they have been paying 8 years  and so the circle of laughing at how many years of experience people have had will carry on. Now we know that zezima has wasted 7 years of his life :D Nope, Zezima started playing in the summer of 2004. :D
  6. I agree. When we had the old wilderness with the anti-RWT updates still going (Early November to early December), random events would still pop up when you were fighting with someone in the wilderness, and you're either winning or losing. Now, if you're fighting anyone in a high-mortality rate area, do you honestly think we'd want randoms? NO! It's the same when you're in Tzharr or somewhere and you're fighting a high level/boss monster AND you get a random event....I remember when I was fighting a level 82 lesser demon after I got a decent drop, and midway through the fight a level 86 evil chicken pops up. Wow. Is Jagex plotting something against me? Death to randoms (except the gnome pinball game, so easy to complete and gives decent rewards )
  7. ... Spam. It was also like that when the year 2007 came rolling around, it said "This website and its contents are copyright ̢̮â¬Å¡Ãâé 1999 - 2006 Jagex Ltd."
  8. The majority of people who are going to quit have done so already. I think this will probably affect the game negatively as JaGex has cut off ways for many people to make money which then means those players will not be able to train their skills as high which will then lead to less items being sold on the GE and so on... So if that does happen... an economic recession? And as people can't make money, they will barely be able to level their skills, they will work for them, and may manage to level up, albeit at a much slower pace. A huge shift in the highscores probably, as well as a rift- those that play longer will still be able to make exponentially more xp than those that don't since they will get one skill up to raise another- such as mining for smithing, runecrafting for magic, etc. And if this happens... prices will start to rise for finished products... and competition for monster drops will definitely worsen... DOubt the last part. Finished pruducts will NEVER rise. The economy is based around EXP and money. You can't possibly MAKE money AND exp at the same time. But on-topic. It is going to make trading immpossible, and prices WILL crash. At GE, there is no way to sell magor items above the median. IT IS IMPOSSIBLE. Lesser items which has values below 100k..well, people will put full price since you can get it faster, and the difference is only a few k. You CAN make money and exp at the same time. All you have to do is get 40 fishing and catch lobsters, 90 exp per lob and 255gp per lob. \ Also, you are wrong about finished product prices never rising. Cooked Lobsters went down because pking was killed off. If the old wilderness was back, certain finished high-level goods like lobsters and swordfish would be in high demand and be bought in large quantities, therefore driving the price up. The reason cooked lobsters and swordfish are stale-priced right now is because player killing is virtually dead, and BH is a crappy replacement, and Clan Wars is a safe mini game so there's no incentive to bring food. Another factor is that people who want to train to 99 cooking will trade cooked lobs for raw lobs, and of course, since raw lobs are worth more than cooked lobs, the latter can use them as training food, and be obtained for free, therefore not many people will have to buy them off the GE if they are obtained in large amounts, relatively easy if you have 60+ fishing.
  9. True, many people such as Albosky haven't played Runescape for years yet they keep coming here (and not just because he's an admin). Search my thread, "is Tip.it harder to quit than Runescape?". Double post.
  10. Huh? Being muted doesn't mean you have to be subjected to unfair trade, and the GE is an efficient method for everyone, whether muted or not. Jagex didn't and still don't intend to "help" the rule-breakers, as November's and this month's dramatic changes against RWT suggest, and being muted doesn't mean you should be subjected to unfair trade. Also, your thread is quite biased. What if the person is unfairly muted? RuneScape's CS and Appeal system is terrible at turning in appeals, you know. A hacker could get into the person's account and spam the flood screen, thus getting the person muted. Anyhow, like I said, The Grand Exchange is an efficient method for trading, even for "rule-breakers". What offense they committed, doesn't mean they have to suffer the price of not being able to bargain/merchant/buy sell for their own prices, unless of course they performed RWT.
  11. Consider the following situation: You are level 80 combat and you just purchased full rune, and you wouldn't want anything else in the world. Recently, you have entered your username in a 1,000,000gp RuneScape Lotto on another site. You know the site is legitimate because other winners have proudly shown off their cash winnings on-site and in-game. To your surprise, a person from the site PMs you and says you have won the lotto. You don't believe at first because you forgot about the whole thing and it sounds like a scam, but then it jogs your memory and you check the site. It's true! You have won the 1,000,000gp lotto. You start thinking of all the things you can buy. You have never made 1,000,000gp ever in your whole RuneScape career. You and the person who's giving out your prize agree on a date to meet for you to receive your prize. But there's one problem: In a few days, Jagex's unbalanced trade system will go into effect in January, so that means you won't be able to receive the 1 million GP prize, but if you accept the 1,000,000gp now, Jagex will flag the trade and might wrongly ban you for RWT, which you are not doing. So what do you do? Do you accept the 1 million cash prize and take the high risk of being banned, or turn down the offer, and miss out on big cash that you'll probably never see again (But at the same time saving your hide)? A situation very similar to this happened to me a few days ago, but the prize giver and myself live in different timezones, so we cannot meet with each other in-game upon an agreed time, so the I do not receive the 1 million cash prize anyway. But I am curious to hear your opinion. :D Take the 1 mill or leave it?
  12. Well, they technically have Elvarg for Dragon Slayer, but otherwise, no.
  13. Raw Lobsters are a wonder on the GE, selling for a bit more than their cooked counterpart-250gp ea. as opposed to 200gp ea. for the cooked lobsters- and sell amazingly quick in quantities of 50,75, or more. I sold 100 raw lobsters for 24.7k in a second, that quick.
  14. Exactly. And how about all you safers out there is it the only reason you're trying to blame and fight pures is because we don't safe? That's basically free stuff for you. So next time go fight some other safer when we tell you we don't wana fight. How is it exactly great to go fight someone that also safes like you every time they get to 75 percent hp, they eat a lob? Hmm I'd like to see you not to complain. Erm...shut up. I own pures in any type of armor and then you [wagon] always safe (pures) when I hit a 20 on you. You eat food, I call you a safer, and you come up with the excuse "I'm eating so I don't die", then you hit a 20 on me, I eat, and you yell "SAFER!!!!111!" Shut up and counter your own arguments more effectively, and just so you know, pures "safe" as much as you think other non-pures "safe". -.-
  15. I try to find a training method that gives both reasonable XP and lots of profit. In this case, I fish Raw Lobsters, which give me 2.5k XP/25, and when I get 100 that is roughly 10k XP, and then I sell my Lobsters for 24k on the Grand Exchange, and repeat, simple as that.
  16. My best newbie memory is when I got a mithril scimitar and shield for free by a level 70. I could hit 7's with it, unpotted. :D
  17. Karamja. It's so peaceful there.
  18. Until I have a guide to help, I think. :
  19. Nope, you have melee pures, that use all the melee stats (Defense, Strength, Attack).
  20. Your friend is a melee pure. That's all.
  21. I've created a fake addy pure which is also my main. I wear full adamant and have high str, making people think I'm a pure when I'm staking and dueling. However, I have 61 defence while they have 1 defence, and I have 71 strength, plus potted+prayer=83+ strength, and I have 63 attack. Is that a good idea to fake out pures, considering I'll have a 61x higher def lvl then they do and a high strength and attack level, as well?
  22. It has nothing to do with the chests. It has to do with Jagex's price controls. actually he was refering to the chests I know, but the method by which you transfer wealth has nothing to do with the chests. Then you could've replied to a reply that was more on-topic to that.
  23. I was torn up today, trying to decide which money-making methods would be a great money maker and also give great XP. So I decided at first, why not try mining? It did help me get my Full Rune, after all. I can use the coal rocks in Barbarian Village to mine my coal. I have 53 mining, so I can mine coal, and it's a decent money maker if you sell 100-1000 of them on the GE. The Coal mining spot is near Varrock Bank, and it's you waste virtually no time if you run to the bank and back. However, the coal rocks take time to respawn, and they rocks are sometimes crowded by people with 60+ mining and rune picks. I believe I made maybe 25k/hr mining coal, if the rocks weren't crowded, on a good day. Then there's Fishing. If you have 40+ fishing, fishing lobsters with a Lobster Pot is a decent way to make money as well. You go to Karamja with a Lobster pot, and you start fishing raw lobsters. Amazingly enough, raw lobsters are worth more than cooked lobsters on the Grand Exchange, and even more so, people actually buy the Raw Lobsters relatively quick, provided you sell them in big amounts (100+). Getting 100 lobsters to sell on the GE gets you roughly 24k/hr, which is more than enough to get what I need and then some, if any. And when you're fishing for lobsters, the fishing spots don't necessarily "respawn", and when you level up in fishing, your character still keeps on fishing, whereas in mining, you level up, and your character stops mining, and someone else may get your ore. However, though, if you're F2P, there is only one Lobster Fishing spot-in Karamja- and you have to pay 30gp to get to Karamja, and another 30gp to get back, whereas mining there's plenty of iron and coal mining spots. Ok, so you have around 6k worth of lobsters in your inventory, so you only lose 60gp each time, and when you fish 100, its only 240gp, and 2.4k/1000. Not much of a loss, indeed, but it does get on some people's nerves. And not to mention there's no bank on Karamja, so you have to walk back to Draynor Bank to bank your lobsters, and pay another 60gp total for a round trip. -.- I found I level faster when I fish then when I mine. It took me less then a week to get from 15 to 40 fishing. Maybe 3-4 days, tops. Now my fishing is 50. :D Whereas mining, it takes so looong to get to 60 and my mining is 53. :( I think there are more pros in Lobster fishing then Coal Mining, but in General, these two major money making methods are neck and neck. But what do you think is the best money making method of these two, mining or fishing? Feel free to list the pros and cons of either of them or both of them here, and if you wish, share some mining/fishing money making tips too! :D
