  1. in castlewars you can also drop the explosives (dark yellow potion in a vial) to take damage...
  2. up your attack and def to around 80 to be more all rounded...either that or just leave def and up attack only if you want a low def...sometimes people may not reply because they don't understand your question...writing in better english might help ;)
  3. such baseless rumours...i wonder where you got your information from -.- godswords never change save for when someone wants to change the hilt of the godsword...and even then you will not lose anything this way since you will still have the previous hilt attached to your godsword after changing it...
  4. for the person who posted above me, i don't think you know how the GE or the price mechanism works...the reason why raw fish is more expensive than cooked fish is that there is a higher demand for raw fish. this is because people are able to gain experience from cooking raw fish and if jagex placed the price of raw fish below that of cooked fish, LOADS of people will be buying up raw fish to cook, earn exp and EVEN MAKE A PROFIT FROM COOKING which is ridiculous...thus eventually the market will correct iself and the price of raw fish will rise with the rising demand while that of cooked fish will drop with the rising SUPPLY to the prices that they currently are now. -.- i really don't think we need more regulation till the point that we can only have 1 sara gs or whatever crap...seriously the RS market is much more regulated than markets in the world...you should be glad that players are not allowed to short-sell in runescape (well to be realistic this is true in just about any other game as well) if short-selling were introduced it would bring the prices of certain items including rares close to 0 at times the same way short selling brought lehman and merrill lynch to their knees as well as how short-selling triggered the 1997 Asian financial crisis... merchanting causes prices to change which many people just assume to be price manipulation. However, merchanting has always been around even before the GE just that it was much less noticeable because trade was done on a 1 to 1 basis and everyone else was not affected by a trade between 2 people. however now with the GE, trading one the GE between 2 people will affect the price of a good which will affect EVERYONE else...thus the introduction of the GE and especially the availability of graphs of the price of goods on the GE allowed everyone to see how the prices of a certain item fluctuate much more. imo, regulation like those which you suggested will do more harm than good..what i suggest is that if you can't beat them, join them ;) like me
  5. Dungeons, keeps, or other confined areas can have sub-areas called instance dungeons, or simply, instances. These instances are special areas in the World of Warcraft where your group or raid party is able to interact with a dungeon privately; that is, without interference from other parties or raids. The term instance has been often conflated and interchanged with the term dungeon. Instance dungeons tend to feature the most difficult and rewarding content, both in terms of enemies and items, but also in terms of level design. Getting through an instance requires a well-trained and well-balanced group of players who are of an appropriate level for the challenge. could be interesting...will reduce those crashers and stuff...more than twice i nearly died at dk due to crashers -.-
  6. does this update limit the amount of other items that players can buy such as food/pots/runes etc? i can't say i like it...jagex should really stop imposing so many restrictions on the economy... no offense against omali but while some people are quoting him, i shall quote Winston Churchill instead who once said, "if you destroy a free market, you get a black market" as well as Milton Friedman who said" The black market was a way of getting around government controls. It was a way of enabling the free market to work. It was a way of opening up, enabling people." and i've yet to see anyone who can prove that a black market is better than a free market. not only will such restrictions create a black market eventually, it also slows down trade and as proven by the theory of comparative advantage by David Ricardo, free trade on the basis of comparative advantage benefits everyone and results in an overall improvement in the society's standard of living. For example if someone is great at fighting and loves doing that but hates herblore and fishing, he should trade the produce of his fighting (drops from monsters, players etc) for potions and food from players who enjoy fishing and have a high fishing/herblore level (i.e. those who have a comparative advantage in fishing/herblore) yes some people are saying that who needs to trade more than 10 godswords in a couple of hours but that is being rather one-sided and extreme...it is ridiculous how such blind people only think about armour and equipment as GODSWORDS and nothing else...how about smithers who are trading the produce of their skilling to others? as well as those who wish to high alch certain profitable armour parts? these players will find themselves at a loss on how to sell the armour they have smithed or buy the armour they want to high alch no? please wake up and stop limiting this discussion to godswords alone...it is not as though godswords are the ONLY weapon and "armour" in runescape...
  7. don't think you need to know much about differential equations to make sense of the prayers...what anyone will need to do so is common sense not differentiation/integration skills unless you are able to form an equation relating the 2 variables together accuracy boosting prayers boost how often you hit which will definitely increase the amount of exp you gain since hitting more often = gaining exp more often. Likewise for strength boosting prayer, hitting higher more often = gaining greater amounts of exp more often however it will be difficult to say if 10% increase in attack/str equals to a 10% increase in exp...take for example someone with level 2 attack compared to another person with level 1 attack...can you say that the guy with level 2 attack is getting twice the amount of exp as the guy with level 1 attack? just because a player's attack level is double that of another player does not necessarily mean he gets double the amount of exp...this probably applies for the prayers too since these prayers boost your attack and strength but take your BASE attack/strength level to figure out how many points to boost your stats by. oh by the way, by assuming that 15% boost in attack/strength = 15% boost in exp you are assuming that if you plot the graph between the 2 variables (attack/strength and exp) you will get a linear equation which is probably not the case as explained earlier (using the 2 players with 1 and 2 attack/strength) one way to test this out is to use the 5%, 10%, 15% as well as piety boost and calculate how much exp you gain in about an hour. then using these statistics you can calculate the linear correlation coefficient...if the figure is close to 1 (which it probably isn't) then you can say that a 15% boost in pray for attack/strength = 15% boost in exp. Although i admit that 4 points are too little for such a test it is the best we can get for prayer boosts and mathematically the result will be valid as long as we do not extrapolate beyond piety boost or below 5% on topic, any sane person with half a brain should be using up their prayers when training no matter what unless you need it in an emergency later on because it you are wise enough like me, you will make it a point to always recharge your prayer points before/after setting out for each training session. i usually use home tele and recharge at the lumby alter before banking at the lumby bank and setting off for my next slayer task. that way you DON'T waste any money on pray pots while allowing you to gain great exp, drops and save time as well...most of the time i wait until my task is about to end to be sure i won't need anymore prayer points in case of emergencies and then use the 10% prayer as well as piety whenever i spec
  8. hmm now is not a very good time to sell your phat cause you will have quite a lot of difficulty trying to do so...nonetheless just put it in ge for min price and wait...it WILL sell eventually...i'm quite sure that prices of phats will go up eventually as more money enters the game as long as jagex does not do anything dumb the reason why phats, rares prices have fallen is due to a credit crunch in runescape (seriously). with the introduction of construction lots of cash was leaked away from the game (before this runescape was experiencing a rather high inflation rate which i can't say is healthy for the economy either) The addition of summoning further exacerbated the problem and many people sold their phats in order to train these 2 skills and basically with less money circulating prices of most goods especially rares will fall but since the dumb GE is unable to reflect the street prices accurately people will have to either wait a long time to sell their rares or use junk trading where the other player buying your rare offers "junk items" as part of payment for your phat. junk items are mostly by-products of skilling which are worthless thereafter such as certain jewelry (ruby bracelets) and stuff. alternatively you could put up an item which is greatly undervalued by the GE such as 3rd age and some animal masks (if you are lucky enough to find them from a treasure trial) and sell them together with your purple phat in order to equilise the price of your phat which is overvalued by the GE. Basically a GE overvalued item sold with a GE undervalued item to equalise prices anyway right now fewer people are training con and summoning so the outflow of money from the game is gradually decreasing while the rather constant rate of high alchs and stuff such as Pest Control will bring in cash into the game...so i predict that in time to come phat and rare prices will rise...slowly but surely. hopefully the above will also give you some idea of some new concepts players have to be familiar with, with the introduction of the GE
  9. for mining, mine granite at the quarry in the desert and keep those pieces which you feel are profitable though prices have been tanking these few days... for woodcut cut teaks on Manage thy kingdom island (miscellinia)
  10. that's lame -.- fine some people are blind then...usually for many warriors their right hand or rather main hand which carries the weapon is considerably larger than the other hand which is why dharok (which emphasizes great strength) has such a large shoulder...torag is just supposed to be strong and hard (despite having very similar def bonus as dharok) which is why it's platebody looks more sturdy and shield-like
  11. i think dharok looks nicer cause of those [bleep]es which are similar to the bandos platebody...and both of your sigs have dharok plate in the picture
  12. if you are focusing on exp it is best to pay the farmer to look after the trees for you...when you do so you don't even have to use supercompost and can be assured that the tree will not die...i don't think you need to water trees...just the sapling in the plant pot. generally trees are much more expensive than fruit trees although fruit trees give around the same exp...the difference is that fruit trees take a much longer time to grow so i'll suggest you plant trees if you are planning to play quite often throughout the whole day and plant fruit trees just before you sleep so that they will be ready by tomorrow ;)
  13. d scim + rune defender gives a higher slash bonus than that of sara sword by 4 although its max hit will be around 2 hp lower than that of sara sword...and don't forget it provides a significant amount of def bonus as well from the rune defender so if you are up against hard hitting monsters like nechs i wouldn't really recommend the sara sword...also the sara sword is much more expensive than d scim and the money saved from sara sword can be used to buy pray pots/sup sets to train at an even faster rate... yea some "know-it-all" peeps are going to say you can always sell the sara sword back after using it but i'm quite certain the ss will drop gradually along with all the godswords due to introduction of new equipment with PvP but d scim has stayed at 100k for a looong time >.<
  14. i think the fastest would be at ape atoll using those skeleton guards cause you can piety there but that requires a lot of attention...most people use giant skeletons when they are doing something else such as updating their blogs or browsing the forums...the good thing about giant skeletons is that you can wear a salve ammy which provides you with bonus attack and strength...more so if it is blessed ;) i don't think daggs are that good =S
  15. apparently it is very rare and will take any attempts...depends on how lucky you are really...can get it in you first try or not in 100 trys >.> maybe you can try leveling 2-3 levels and then using the stew that way the chance of you achieving your desired level will be increased
  16. i'm quite sure i belong to all 3 categories to be honest...which should not be surprising since we should try out every aspect of runescape in order to fully appreciate and maximise the game play... i've gone on many dk, gwd and barrow trips and made around 50m from barrow the 2 weeks it came out i've also mined lots of rune ores (probably around 2k), there was once i mined 5k coal ore at one go, cut yews, make potions, cook and firemake as well... and i also merchant frequently...made 6m from the recent [bleep]e in food prices due to PvP announcement and will probably engage more often in this area when i become a member since there will be many more items available to merchant ;) so overall i'll say that many people may not necessarily fit into one group...although my combat level is much higher than my other stats i've stopped training combat and will be concentrating on pushing up fishing/fming/woodcut in the f2p world until i get membership during the hols... but i also like to add that merchants can be very irritating at times as they bring about great instability in the markets (look at the up and down curves of food prices in recent weeks) and this applies not only to Runescape but to the real world as well such as during the Asian financial crisis and even the recent sub-prime mortgage crisis in America where many investors shorted the shares of investment banks bringing merrill lynch and lehman brothers to their knees... which is why i join them...if you can't beat them, join them
  17. quit flaming him...not everyone is has billions of geepee sitting in the bank -.- even if the sgs is going to continue falling, if he values it a lot and plans to never ever sell it then good for him...there is no "right" time to buy such weapons cause i can assure you that sgs will drop to below 10m one day when new supreme equipments enter the market...but how long are you going to wait for that to happen? it is basically a trade off between time and money (as usual basically everything revolves around these 2. Buy sgs early and save time but lose money or buy sgs later and lose time but save money...
  18. everyone thinks that santa will skyrocket on christmas = everyone is going to buy santa now AND everyone is going to sell their santa on christmas = santas are going to crash on christmas >.< and i'm sure lots of people know about the santa suit already...you have to choose an item which very few people know about or that you are one of the first to know about it for example when PvP announcement came out i was online and one of the first to read the announcement so the first thing i did was to buy up 100k raw lobs and 50k cooked and sold later for 6m more =) i guess the most fun way of making money for me would be boss hunting like gwd and dk...but it is much better to go for boss hunting when a new boss with an awesome drop just comes out like that monster from summer's end now...
  19. have a goal to get 200m exp in all skills  umm boss killing imo is one of the most fun things to do in rs...also i specially trained my mage at mage training arena to 94 just for barrage in castle wars which is very fun as well ;)
  20. really depends on what monster you are up against...yea for all the slayer tasks monsters are pretty much no kick at all but if you are talking about stuff like sara gwd then i think it is best to take along both guthan and bunyip if not at least guthan cause bunyip won't be able to heal you fast enough during the "breaks" when zilyana is dead...same for dk too although i don't seem to be able to heal much =S
  21. legs are just for the looks...the skirt has better stats even though it's cheaper...better stats meaning weighing 1kg less ;) don't get legs unless you have too much cash
  22. er i doubt the clue rewards will have much effect unless you do every single one of them which will waste a lot of time and even then probability of you getting something really good is rather low... nechs have quite a high def though...
  23. karil is useless unless you are looking for MAGE DEFENSE...it provides lousier melee defense and EQUAL RANGE ATTACK BONUS as blk d hide...anyway so i don't get flamed for getting "off-topic" yes it does make a big difference...just calculate the percentage difference and you will see it is quite large... no idea why you are so insistent on using karils...even if you make a small profit all the time, if you use blk d hide you will make a larger profit no? the cost saved can be used to buy range potions for you to train with and increase your speed significantly...to conclude, karil is    blk d hide is    unless you are going for mage defense or rich enough to get armadyl/3rd age...for goodness sake karil's melee defense is more pathetic than blk d hide >.> only time i ever use karil is either GWD or castle war against barragers ;)
  24. I disagree. I disagree. Whip is definitely the best training weapon unless you have something wrong with your brain and decided to train on general graardor or something...don't say you disagree without stating any reasons or everyone will know that you are just a nubcake. whip is much better for training as most people train on low defense creatures and in this situation speed is of greater importance than power...IMO sara gs is lousier than whip for training too...even if you have a sara gs you should use whip most of the time and only use sara gs for spec when you need to heal or recharge prayer...even then the spec lost could be put to better use at times such as using halberd against greater demons where i've frequently hit over 50 in a spec or dds against lower defense creatures such as aberrant specters...if you want to heal just use food or something >.>
