  1. Personally the only cape I have zero respect for is the untrimmed Cooking cape, purely because of all the idiots that bought it just for the cape. It just annoys me so much that my favourite skill in the game is now seen as dirt because of all these slightly-rich level 80s/90s wearing Torags (word to the wise, your Torags legs cost more than Dharoks legs and look worse) that wanted a cheap 99 cape. The worst bit is now, that because Cooking was proclaimed to be the cheapest, quickest and easiest cape, raw fish has gone up and cooked fish is down to a point where it's no longer the cheapest 99 cape. Yet still these mindless sheep don't take the effort to calculate which would be the cheapest 99, they just blindly keep ruining the Cooking cape for anyone who actually likes Cooking.
  2. So far the new treasure trail reward seems to be rather lame, it does improve the more you do but the basic mould seems to be 1-3 charms, small amounts of gp, a few laws/mith arrows and a couple of gems. It also requires you to go anywhere, even low level wildy. From what I've seen so far, rewards are the same for everyone, they just improve the more you clear. GP goes up from 500-750, charms go from 3 gold to 1 green, mith arrows go from 20 to 30, gems go from 3 sapphires or 2 emeralds to 1 ruby, and runes go from laws to cosmics. You get charms and GP in each trail, then it seems two rewards are done randomly between arrows, runes or gems. Nobody has mentioned anything special yet, you might need to do a lot to obtain a new item but the way it's going so far, it looks like this key won't break, but it'll never really have any rewards worth the effort.
  3. It's not really a sensible idea to invest in them, just look at how stupidly rare the Dragon Full Helm is. If Jagex made a full helm with stats hardly much better than the free Helm of Neitiznot, that requires you to kill a large amount of ridiculously tough Mithril Dragons, then the platebody is probably going to be near impossible to obtain. Even with the Dragon Chainbody, Kalphite Queen is pretty much the only source for them, so the platebody isn't going to be dropped by something a single person can kill. Basically unless Jagex pull something silly and let you buy it for 2m after beating their 150th quest, the massive supply of Dragon Platelegs/skirt far outweigh the amount of platebodies that will ever exist. Considering how Jagex have been trying to purposefully make Dragon armour incredibly difficult to obtain, would seem silly for them to make the platebody more common than the chainbody or full helm.
  4. The firemaking update sound interesting, I just hope it isn't last update this month as if all goes to plan I should be 99 Firemaking early next month, and if that update brings an item to really help speed up firemaking I'll probably be very annoyed. Then again, I don't want to put it on hold on the off chance Jagex introduces a decent item, because their ratio for releasing viable new training methods is very much in the red section labled "Poor" As for Meeting History, well I just hope it isn't as boring as the original quest. I can't remember anything about it other than the enjoyable treasure trail that should have been expanded on. They really should have let you obtain more of those keys from monsters and used it as an alternative version of treasure trails with less wanted rewards such as boaters, firelighters and heraldic armour to improve the quality of the main TTs rewards (which as everyone knows, has been severly diluted with the sheer amount of items you can obtain).
  5. Well it's a nice chage, as it shows Jagex are thinking about continuing a lot of their older abandoned storylines, I think a lot of the later RSC members quests were hampered by the fact they weren't built specifically for RS2 and therefore they hold up poorly against newer quests, so it would be good to see continuations that make full use of what is possible now. Hazeel Cult was rather dull as it made virtually no use of Hazeel, and you spent most of your time in a boring mansion or a cave, and then at the end Hazeel just pretty much sits there forever more. As for Temple of Ikov, it's a nice quest but as with Hazeel Cult it feels likes it's being limited by what was possible in RSC, instead of a massive temple with an amazing staff on a pedestal, guarded by impressive Armadyl warriors, it's a grotty cave with a slightly recoloured Staff of Earth on a table in the corner of a room guarded by standard human NPCs wearing gold Saradomin symbols. Then you've got an Armadyl Pendant which doesn't even use the Armadyl symbol and some "mysterious" guy who just waits in a regular looking house by the wildy.

  7. why would they do that the two mine carts were created years appart and its not like it would be hard to type out a new examine. Jagex haven't even fixed larger HD problems such as the Top Hat removing hair, grown willow trees using the old model and garbled textures, capes going through virtually everything, most amulets going through armour, claws and Rod of Ivandis floating away from female hands, Princess Blouse and all other white items looking grey and most lesser used items getting super stretchy when doing anything other than standing still. The tiny matter of them putting "minecartcave03" where "minecartcave02" should be is probably at the very bottom of their incredibly long list.
  8. If only 95% of the songs are required to obtain the cape (95% of the current total would approx 530 out of 560 songs) then I fully support it. Obtaining nearly all the songs requires you to do far more than simply beat every single quest, so if quests deserve a cape then music should as well. As it is, unless you spam the Air Guitar emote all the time, nobody will ever know you found nearly all the songs. The reason I say 95% is because lacking the unobtainable holiday ones, or Champions Challenge one should not hinder you from getting it. It'd also give a slight bit of breathing space so you don't lose it with every single weekly update, but require effort to keep hang onto it every 2-3 weeks (as with the Quest Cape)
  9. At first I thought it was just another useless item, but after using it I'm quite surprised at how good it actually is. The run recharge is very useful if you don't have tons of super energy pots in your bank, the teleport is incredibly useful if you regularly visit Draynor and don't have 25 charged glorys in your bank (only having 2 glorys myself, I waste a lot of Games Necklaces recharging them) and for anyone crafting low level runes the chance at yet another extra rune is always welcome. The cabbage teleport looks hilarious as well.
  10. Can you imagine the lag that will cause? If F2P got a reindeer they would ALL be using it, it's bad enough with all the cats at the GE meaning you can't click anywhere on the ground, let alone 100 massive reindeer. It wouldn't work under the Summoning system due to it being F2P, meaning it wouldn't be blocked from areas like the GE. It wouldn't, Jagex would purposefully give it -100 in nearly every area and no special as they have done with the Rubber Chicken. I remember a few years ago a Jagex Mod said that no holiday weapon other than the Scythe would ever have positive stats, as the new players that missed it moaned they missed something that was (slightly) useable as a proper weapon.
  11. Why is there such hate towards a Santa Suit that everyone wants it to come with free Santa Hats, or use the head slot just to purposefully annoy anyone who does have a Santa? Do you honestly hate the item that much, or is it just hate for the merchants and idiots that pay insane prices for these "rares"? I'm incredibly happy to hear that the Santa Suit is winning the poll, not for cash gain but purely because after 6 years there will finally be a complete Santa outfit in the game. I worked hard mining Silver ore and selling it to the general store back on RSC to pay 55k for my Santa Hat, and I wouldn't sell it even for 500m. Face it, nobody uses these untradeable holiday items as they don't show off your wealth. It's just the sad state the game has got into, where if you aren't wearing a "rare" item on your head, an expensive to obtain skill cape, a godsword and some overpriced Dragon/Bandos armour you aren't worthy enough to play the game. The Santa Suit is the only poll item that has any potential for not being thrown in a dank corner of someones bank. When is the last time you ever saw anyone wearing Bunny Ears, Scythe, the Christmas hats/scarfs or a Rubber Chicken? In the past 2-3 years, I'm the only person that I've ever seen wearing Bunny Ears, whacking someone with a Rubber Chicken or wielding a Scythe. I virtually never even see the Grim Reaper Hood or Chocatrice cape anymore.
  12. Not in a million years, after using the Quick Chat server for some quiet to do the Lumby diary I went back on a normal world and a few seconds later some level 89 asked to borrow my Santa (the actual words were along the lines of "flip lend u snata hat") and when I said no I was called an "A hole" (I'm only lvl 91 myself). The guy then proceeded to harrass myself and other people. In the space of being logged on for 5 mins at the Culinaromancer bank chest, there were 3 beggars asking people to borrow their god armour, dragon chain, santa hat and other expensive items. It's pathetic, why shouldn't I be able to wear the Infinity robes I worked incredibly hard to obtain? I spent ages running essence to get the runes and then endured the tedium of getting the pizzaz points for what? To endure "OMG gimie u amor" every few mins. Thankfully my normal outfit consists of untradeable items like the Scythe and Void knight armour (only the Vyrewatch bits are tradeable), but with this atrocious update if I want to wear anything nice that is remotely valuable I'm stuck on Quick Chat servers or with chat turned off.
  13. 1: Holiday items - Bunny Ears, Scythe, Santa etc. 2: Runes, potions, tiaras, talismans and staffs. 3: Quest items that have no further use. 4: Armour and weapons that are used often. 5: Clothing, outfit stuff, pretty much anything equipable that looks good. 6: Misc items 7: Important items - cash, pots, knives, keys, hammer etc. 8: Skill items - anything for raising skills
  14. You could say the same about the Grim Reaper hood, without the Scythe it isn't half as impressive. At least you can still buy Santa Hats, and with the recent trading block they are now only mildy expensive and pretty common. Anyway, I hope to god it isn't a reindeer, pets and summons are already irritating enough with virtually everyone having one out, just imagine how bad it'd be if every level 3 was running around with a massive reindeer in tow. Santa Suit would be nice, but I'd still prefer an icy sword.
  15. All I can say is wow, it might not be state of the art but it sure does make RS a lot easier on the eye. Trying to run it currently with a high resolution is torture, the interface eats up about 75% of the screen and the rest is so tiny you need to always be fully zoomed in. Other that an odd day for the holiday events I haven't touched RS since about 1 year after RS2 came out, I think this is the update that will make me seriously consider paying for a few months members to catch up on everything. Castle Wars with the upgraded graphics, interface and fullscreen mode is going to be a joy to play.
  16. Never had any black marks, never intend to. However I feel sorry for people who have got them from stating well known websites such as RuneHQ and Tip It. Jagex knows for a fact what those two sites are, and that they are perfectly safe. They should not be treated the same as idiot autotypers that yell "get free RS money at z0mgfr3eR00nscapemiiiilions.moron" It's incredibly annoying when some player comes up and demands you tell them how to do a quest (sorry, but explaining how to complete Darkness of Hallowvale? You must be kidding), and then some wannabe mod just reports you for saying "Just use Tip It's quest guides".
  17. Says the player who has obtained enough Dragon, Whip and Dark Bow drops to actually afford to train the skill. I'd like to see you say the same thing as a player that has never obtained a single Dragon item, or even a damn Half Key in their entire time playing RS. I seriously doubt you've ever sat at Troll Generals for 10 hours with no Granite Shields, other than the one you got given out of pity from someone who got 1-2 an hour. In it's current state, Summoning is just an elitist skill, only possible to train by the richest players, the sort that seem to consider 500k as "chump change". Quite frankly I'm disgusted that Jagex has hyped this ridiculous skill up so much, lied about the difficulty/cost in training it and then turn a combat related skill into a cheap Runecrafting knockoff. All they have managed to do is dissapoint the large majority of RS players that don't have 100m rotting in their bank. A skill that cannot be trained to lvl 40 for under 400k, while gathering every item required, should not be classified as a skill. Fact is, if Jagex expects anyone to use Summoning other than the odd player using a Spirit Wolf, Dreadfowl or Granite Crab in a month or two, they are very mistaken.
  18. True, but you also pointed out exactly why it's highly unlikely there will be an achievement diary for the Elven area (at least until other cities are done). Quest and skill requirements. If you look at the Varrock and Karamja diarys, they all have Easy, Medium and Hard tasks. Only the odd very minor level/quest is needed for Easy, and medium levels/quests for Medium. The Elven area requires numerous, long, annoying quests, 53 agility and at least 70 combat to even reach, the Elf town requires even higher skills. Not to mention the patience needed after you fail some jump in the Underground Pass for the 10th time in a row.
  19. To be honest, I probably wouldn't repair (can't bless) a gravestone unless it was someone who died fighting, or they actually could lose something valuble/hard to recover. And I'll tell you why, because so far I've not seen a single person die that hasn't done it on purpose. The only ones I've seen are the rich showoffs that just want to show their Angel of Death gravestone, or the ones that know they have virtually no hp, and still keep attacking/pickpocketing and then make no effort to get back to their grave. I just don't have time to stand around for 5 or 10 mins, trying to keep the grave there for someone who just doesn't care.
  20. It's the same story with every type of clothing NPCs get, they all look far better and are much more detailed than any of the rubbish we get. It's only just starting to get better with stuff like the Bandos Plate, but RS is still seriously lacking with the equippable items. All armour from Bronze to Rune is identical except for colour, as is all Trimmed and Guilded armour and Dragon (except for Full Helm) just adds some [bleep]es. Crystal looks unique, but has been abandoned and 3rd Age is so rare and expensive that virtually nobody has it. Boots and gloves also virtually all look identical except for colour. For an example, just look at Commander Zilyana, the Vyrewatch and the Lumbridge tutors off the top of my head. They all have very unique armour/clothing, they all basically have the same "Human" frame, so why is we don't get anything fancy like that? I mean, I'd love to have that blue coat that the Lumbridge Guide wears.
  21. You know, for years now I've came very close to selling my Santa Hat multiple times, even once at Christmas when they were over 20m, but I just can't part with it, regardless of how much anyone offers me for it. Years ago when they were 55k, I worked like mad, mining and selling silver to the General Store when I was about lvl 40, to make enough cash for a Santa Hat, purely because of it's looks. For me, it just has too many memories attached to it, and it's annoying that if I wear it, people just think I'm some rich Merchant that bought it as a sign of wealth. I think I'll actually be glad when they become near worthless again, then at least I can wear it without any hassle.
  22. I notice that nearly everyone saying how they "are not hard" and that you "just need food" pretty much have 90+ in every combat stat. Sure, if you are lvl 120 they probably are not hard, however lvl 70s used to be able to finish lvl 3 clues. Not so now, chances are they'll be dead within 10 seconds of seeing a revanant. Personally while doing lvl 3 clues, I had never once been attacked by a pker, and the times I had been attacked by one, I actually had a fair chance of escaping. The fact is, these things can hit through prayer like it isn't even there, they can change between ancient and regular magic at will, hit from twice the distance, Teleblock (something we no longer can do), use a poison that is stronger than P++, virtually never hit 0s, and most of all, they appear from nowhere (you could spot a Pker from miles away on the map). Personally I really pity the F2P players, it's obvious just how little Jagex cares about them now. They couldn't even be bothered to think "Ah, F2P can't use ancient magic, potions, sharks, poison or decent armour. Better tone them down for F2P"
  23. If that's true and not a prank, then that is AWESOME! Yeah, it stops pretty much all magic effects. I keep getting pelted while alching/enchanting and it makes the magic glow dissapear.
  24. About the Holly Bow, Winter Staff and Ice Sword not being useable. Mod John A was getting bombarded by questions, comments and insults about this. He said that "We can't give useful items as Xmas rewards so no weapons...". Now that would likely explain why the Rubber Chicken was the last item to alter stats in any way (although negative stats) and the Scythe was the last one to give any positive stats. I can imagine Jagex has got a lot of messages about the Scythe over the years (not least when it first came out). But they could at least have given these weapons out without stat bonuses, Snowmen can wield them, they have inventory icons, so why couldn't the extra effort be put in to get them to be useable? As one guy said to the mod, this Snowglobe will just be left in the bank and never used, like the Zombie Head.
  25. I bought and made about 600 yesterday, even buying Gold Bars on the exchange I made a minor amount of cash in the end. So it's not really good for making cash anymore, but it was great for Craft and Magic exp as you only make very minor losses. However, it's now totally impossible to do this. Yesterday I bought rubies for 920gp each yesterday. Today I can't get ANY, even at the max GE price. Very annoying too, as I was using this to get 61 Crafting (for Lunar Diplomacy) without losing any cash.
