  1. Yeah, mine used to be top 30s back in the days, but I long since give up to fit myself up there, too much dedication to real life. I am still working on my originals goals, slowly, but surely, I will eventually get those pesky 99s (plus that annoying 120 dung).
  2. I bury bones at busy world sometimes, but when I am alone, people usually comes in and start compete with me. At least other worlds are empty most of the time, it doesn't spawn that fast, but I can't bury that fast and walk around enough anyways. In the end, I will probably mine runite ores and collect things to sell to supplement the prayer xp from chaos temple as well.
  3. Well, you either have one or another, not sort of both, it will create a huge gray area. Though most of those profanity comes from younger players, I seen some older players using it too (at least they using it in the PMs, and I know them for long time, but why do you need to use those swear words as adjectives is totally beyond me). I think everyone here understand the frustration of the poster's situation, but I think at least Jagex is somewhat understanding for giving u the temp mute (and hopefully no black marks on your character). I have seen other players trying to entice other players to use strong words in retaliations. One of my friend got goaded a lot because of his high combat level in clan wars, and he got reported when he swore at them. Of course he got black marks, but he said it was well worth it and let his steam out because he was very mad. For the most part, whenever I encountered someone like that, I just take a step back, evaluate the situation, report when necessary and move on my daily RS tasks. RS is not what it was once use to and everyone is very report abuse happy (despite the situations), so those of us with long experience and wisdom (or views) will tolerate as the game goes along.
  4. Yeah, they were pretty high ranked in the old F2P list, and I think I seen The Stu0 at Edgeville dungeon training with hill giants for prayer xp before. But just like any other games, people comes and people goes, but to quote what some other guys said here before, legacies never fades (at least the one that remembers them).
  5. ? ? I can't think of any way to reply without sounding like an e-rager. -_- Guess I'll go and catch some sleep lol Or you could just accept and respect someone else's opinion. I accepted yours, gave you mine. No reason to rage huh. Good night I guess. ;) I agree with Nat because of several points he mentioned. There is no reason for Jagex to make a separate highscore or option to do so. It would need to spend some time to tweak the program, and time is money (which not feasible from a business prospective). It would also promote people to stay F2P, which would lose some revenue for potential players. The only way they would do it if they can somehow make money or satisfy a huge amount of players gaming experience therefore increase positive image on F2P world, which I doubt both will happen anytime soon. Again, we can always hope.
  6. Getting skillers to dungeoneer with you is no issue at all when you're famous. Which brings us back to the topic when everyone is upset about people who use skillers in dungeoneering skill. But there isn't anything else people would say because pretty much all the top ranked F2P are doing it. @Sonic, there are a lot of Asian RS players out there, just not only limited to China. But it would def help Asian region players if they set up some servers there to reduce the lag.
  7. Just to double check, we get investigator hat, top and trousers from the Fest right? Well, plus that mysterious book, but what use do we have for it? (Can we even wield it, not to mention even with all the page assembled, the description still said its missing a few pages). Hopefully I didn't miss any emotes or new track that open during this quest.
  8. I was thinking about the same thing, apply the cap to everyone, and even the same xp rate when coupled with skillers. The only thing is those who use the method has pretty high xp and level in dung already, so we would have a skewed distribution of dung on F2p list. I guess if you want to balance it out, we will just have to dung with skiller to get it over with, so everyone has "unfair" advantage, lol. I personally prefer to dung alone because I play quite slowly (doing too much unnecessary stuff), hence I solo it without being too much a hindrance to other team mates. To be honest, the reason I dung now is mostly to take a break from my usual grinding stuff. Not saying that I don't like it, but its more varied compare to your run of the mill click and point (well, with thinking and planning involved).
  9. Well, when you put it that way, then it makes a whole lot of sense. Still, I am not sure if Jagex will change their view on this kind of indirect xp gain (not as bad as price manipulation, but similar concept). Not to mention that all the F2p now who has lvl 99 dung or more would be consider using so call "unfair" advantage, not sure if it would change their view on how they should level. And its not like we can put some sort of announcement on the top f2p 250 discussion thread telling others not to use skillers when they dung.
  10. This might sound like a really obvious statement, but RS will end when you quit the game. It won't matter what happens to the game, because if you quit and ignore its existence, its good as end.
  11. Because they abuse it. Those with much exp in Dungeoneering often do it with skillers to get an easier dungeon and more experience. That's the unfairness most here refer to. I don't think that's so much as an abuse more so an advantage that they took to get their xp so high. As long the way is legit and isn't against the rule, its perfectly alright doing so. (Which interest me since whoever is the skiller that dung with them must be extremely dedicated to keep it up with their pace) For example, because if any outside help is prohibited, the ones who use assist to train their RC before and after the assist kicks in would also consider unfair. Well, to put it bluntly, anything that makes the game easier compare to before would be consider unfair compare to people who used to play the game old school Just my 2 cents, I always Solo my dungeon, so by the time I get few decent xp, hair would have grown another inch or so............
  12. All I pointed out was that you should at least put some spaces between your sentence and paragraph which make it easier to read and interpret. I never said anything about my grammar being superior (in fact, I suck at it big time because English is my 2nd language), especially its only the first paragraph that "suggest" you do a bit of editing while rest of the post talked about F2P being fun without needing content from P2p. Never figure out why people only read what they want to "see" and ignore the rest, and start flaming about other peoples opinion. In any case, I don't think Xp cap matters to most people, seeing how some F2P blaze through the xp rate like there is no tomorrow. Besides, without your usual "handicap" we can't really call it F2P style can we?
  13. You should try to put commas and period in your next posting, trying to read through all that was very very difficult. In any case, when you add up all that small time together that you spend on RS, it still really doesn't amount to anything in real life. Say if you spend 1 hour per day on RS, and do that 31 days, for 12 months for 25 yrs, that still amounts to 9300 (its just an example, so don't get worked over it). The possibility to grind when you want to hit a lvl 99 is a lot higher, and it simply means you have to do it longer as a F2p compare to P2p. Most of the skill are so easy now that you can literally click once and leave it alone for 5 minutes (which you mentioned it yourself), and that kind of advantage is offer to P2p more compare to F2p. You will never escape the fate of grinding if you want to hit lvl 99 or hit 200mil xp. I can be super productive if I just work in real life and save bunch of money to pay off debt instead of playing RS, the argument goes both ways. I am not sure about other F2p, but I don't play much as I would due to real life commitment, and its alright too. I had my fun, my grinding (which I enjoyed it, so no regret there), and some friend I made along the way. Currently, all I want to do is achieve my goal, albeit very slowly, but I still enjoy it nevertheless, not to mention all the convenience of training easier, I can even be more productive than before (like mining runite, I can go to main lobby, stay there, cook my dinner, go in a world, mine ores, goes back out, take a shower, go into a world mine some ores, etc etc). At the end of the day (or one's life), if you can totally satisfied with what you once had, and no regret, that's pretty much whats count. PS: As I mentioned in so many of my other post, you can do so many things in F2p for fun that combination is endless. Like try to set some challenges with friend to see who can run from one city to another a lot faster without using teleport. Or try to use firemaking to spell worlds on the map, or get scrap of meat and feed it to the dog near old air altar, or just sit by the beach side right beside the seaport with sound effects on, you get the idea.
  14. Apparently many people cares, its like efficiency vs wealth. I seen a lot of F2P got good lvls this way with proper planning and time management. Granted I am way too simple to do that kind of calculation with cash and hour spend, so I usually just do the way I know (even know they are not efficient) that I figure to hit lvl 99. I think majority of top ranking ones (20 and above) probably know the best method to train, and they probably train a lot more on average (or play for long time, which doesn't seem to be the case) than the rest of top f2pers.
  15. ^this=ownage Seriously guys, every time Stormage writes an article you tear him to shreds. As the old folks would say, You got your come-up-ance! I don't really doubt the validity of his claim because I seen that happening with the friends I had on my friend list too. A portion of them at some point in time weren't on but someone else is on instead. Many people said that sharing between best friend or family member is alright is sort of gray area. But if you really want to clear it up, I rather be black and white and exclude any type of sharing, otherwise people will use their own reasoning and excuses for proper justification.
  16. I never thought limproot could worth more than 100gp ea, now they are....well, something 2k plus at least I think. I never thought I could get combat 100, much less beyond that, well, now I am lvl 124. I never thought of a lot of stuff, but honestly, just shows you how time changes everything.
  17. Meh i've done everything there is to do in f2p and it all sucks. Garbage money, garbage experience and garbage resources. Against the spirit of the game? like anyone cares about the spirit of the game anymore. There are many ways to enjoy the game, some people simply like F2P style. I like it because I don't have to train like crazy to feel I am getting money's worth. One more thing, all that "garbage" is why F2P is harder in the first place, and some like it as a challenge. I wouldn't want to walk around in member because everyone suppose to have high combat level. All the effort I put in could be undermined because people just assume you have to be p2p to get high combat or skill. I could easily been to the top ranked p2p if I convert all the time I spend as F2P into P2p. As for spirit of the game, well, some people hold it in high regard that you are suppose to follow the rules (they are there for a reason). You can discard it completely, that is until you get banned when people report you.
  18. Same here, the fact that my rank went from 2 digits (30s) to 3 digits (100s) now means I haven't been keep tabs on things, but that would take too much time. Plus I got other important skills to train in real life too like career and mortgages. I am still training, just very very very slow compare to my old self. Someday, I might set a goal to get one skill to 200mil xp after I got lvl 99 all (and lvl 120 dung), just for kicks (but definitely not cook or firemaking).
  19. Not very long if you have been friends for awhile. People on my friend list talking about it from time to time, and it seems family member or best friend tend share it the most. My take is exactly like your article said, my character is mine alone, if you share it or sell it, it won't be you anymore. The idea is the same for people who said they were hacked, and I knew that they either got keylogged by visiting inappropriate site, or give their info away, which is why I usually don't give sympathy much. Overall, a very good article and sums up that particular rule for people to keep in mind. On another hand, the same principle could be apply to item sharing (before item lending), one of my friend lend her full dragon armor to her "best" friend (known for 2 years) to snap some screenie with. After the trade, they depart, and the best friend was never heard again. The result was kind of sad because I can tell that she wasn't able to trust people anymore (at least on RS). The bug abuse article was a good read, though I never really encounter it myself. Of course, I would see a lot people tempted for sure, its simply human nature and how strong you stand by yourbelief.
  20. She didn't want to be on the list anymore o: why? Some people don't wish to be on the list because they don't want to be in the "competition" Well, I don't see it as a competition, but some people actually do! Before I know about the list, I just kind of train for fun ( I train a lot anyways) After I know about the list, I kind of wanted to stay top 30th, or even higher. After playing for so long, don't really care about rank anymore, but its nice to see myself on the list. Wasn't there several responses for people who doesn't want to be on the list, but it wouldn't be accurate if we don't list them? I mean you can't exactly ask Jagex to remove yourself from RS high score. (But I can understand why they want to remove themselves due to various reasons)
  21. Maybe you're taking your sample from an "intellectually unmotivated" group of guys actually back when i had the OG xbox live and battlefield 2 and halo, i knew some girls who were monsters. i didn't know any of them irl but i could tell the had nerves of steel and steady hands, and if you really think about it, females are less twitchy and impatient than most males. females may just be underrepresented in Runescape because it's mostly aimed at a younger audience and i don't know too many 13yo or younger girls playing Runescape or video games in general edit: and what are you talking about, both half lifes were intense your mind had to be sharp playing that I think I belong to that intellectually unmotivated group, lol, I can't use my brain at all if I don't like the stuff (thought I like Solitaire a lot) Many shootings games back then weren't so hard, at least for Half Life 1 and Halo (haven't play Half Life 2 and other Halos so can't comment on those). I pretty much just go through levels stock up armors, ammo and shoots everything I see, and of course, saves probably make it less interesting (but both games got good storyline, so that's good). Back to the topic, I think more female gamers will be more prominent later on as game and technology pushed forward, as we start to shift from our traditional role of boys and girls. In the end, it doesn't really matter female or male, since you just want to deal with a polite and nice person.
  22. Well, just a quick references to the other post, if you are high level, most people will call you no life. (At least that's the comment I heard for the most part, rarely botting by such) I can see why lvl 3 get that botting comments a lot more than higher combat lvls. I wonder what happens if Jagex Mod change their in game lvl to lvl 3, and wears fancy armor and just doing some repetitive things, and then some players walked by and said, ah a bot, in which...................well, let you imagination fly and see what happens when Jagex mod responds.
  23. I remembered training at Lumbridge mine (where addy, mith and coals are) once, and for some odd reason, everyone is bot jumpy there. There was this time when I was mining and another high lvl training there with me. I was wearing some crappy light armor for running and speed reason, the other guy was just holding a rune pick. After we said hi to each other (I found out he is a player mod after he talks), and leave each other alone with training. 20 minutes passed and another guy wandering to the our spot, and asked us what our mining lvl were, while I responded promptly, the other guy didn't say anything until 15 seconds later. The funny thing was that since I speak right away, the new comer didn't ask me anything but instead start following the player mod around asking for mining lvl, which when he replies, the new comer simply said, omg, a player mod botting, reported......and logs off. Of course the player mod was like.......eh.....whats his problem, I was like, I don't know maybe he failed a test in school or something and went back to our mining. The moral of the story, if you don't response in less than 5 seconds, people will think you are botting (especially you don't wear fancy clothes).
  24. Yeah, that's the list I seen before, thanks for providing the link again. Well, adding myself and another top F2p I know plus Syzygy, at least three on the list are all Canadians, lol.
  25. I also use the same computer to play RS until the HD mode come out (and I had it since 2002). Everything is problem free with this PC except its old and likes to overheat. So when HD comes out, I bought another gaming lappy just for it (and anticipated SC2) so I can play it in HD mode a lot smoother without lag.
