The F2P General Discussion Thread
Hopefully, they will undo or lifted it off in the near future. At this point, i am more concentrating on getting those RC xp up with the skill. It's a fun one nevertheless and to be honest, they could do whatever they want with the skill and set it as a limit for F2P. We are playing this game for free (well, with the adverts on), so them capping it is not so much of an issue. Back to that part again, F2P are suppose to be harder due to many limitations, a lot of skill between F2P and P2p can almost train at the same speed now if you get the method right. Its like, in the old days, if you are member you get RC 70, its ok since you can use wildy and pouches. For F2P, lvl 50 plus is impressive because all you can do is walk (and run occasionally)

The F2P General Discussion Thread
I thought they did a roll back? Problem solved for the most part. When RC xp is getting out of proportion, I am sure Jagex will step in and do something about it. That's why I usually don't jump in with the crowd when something is released into the public. Some bugs bound to happen, and it will slowly being uncovered and fixed as it go along. I was raiding one dungeon yesterday when the Java client restart for no reason. Didn't feel like total loss but still kind of sucks working through half way and have all the work reset for the most part. But I do agree, its a good skill to train RC, but its a slow skill by its own accord. I guess F2P just have to prepare for the long haul.

The F2P General Discussion Thread
Yeah, I played for about 5 hours myself trying to figure out how it works. Actually, I was experimenting with RCing. Someone might have mentioned it before. I tried go through a regular dungeon by myself, collect everything I can see that worth value of anything, and sell it all (pretty much follow what other guys said on the forum) I find making fire runes has an ok xp, and better resell value. because I can make more of it, so its better than making deaths and sell those. 104k drop would means I could recycle my cash and fire runes over and over again. Roughly around 5.5k RC xp right there Downside is, takes long time to collect those items and put them on table, and also, it will make ur dungeoneering speed even slower. out of 5 hours, I only gained like 5 lvls, (mostly due to Rcing away)

Top 250 F2P Skill Total List
That's ok, we will "grind" our way up to prove they are wrong. LOL, Just to show them that we don't need to pay to get higher levels. PS: I am sure most of us can afford it, we just choose not to.

Most Famous RS People
Actually, Fook is pretty famous, lol For some odd reason, i like his old Avatar or Signature picture, haha.

Top 250 F2P Skill Total List
Yeah, that's actually a pretty good idea. We can take a snapshot of the list before every major event happen in RS, at least to see how the ranks differs from each one.

I have not mentioned anything insulting to your overall response to the new skill, at the time I was writing, I was referring to your message on how its similar to certain aspect in WoW, so its better to give it a try before stereotype it as something some else. If member if having such a hard time, then I am sure F2P will have a "grand" time doing this skill. At least I think the parody is quite nice, the way its written ( it would probably take few days to get that part done, or more). And once again, there are truth in it since I can see similar points being made by other players. I don't mind opinions, even what other are consider as negative. There is really no right or wrong answer to those open discussion question, you don't have to conform to a "general" consensus to make it worth while. For now, I am just trying to figure out how to do this skill without my head explode.

The F2P General Discussion Thread
By hard way, do you mean just to make air runes going to air altar without any other tools or assist. Many of us were doing that before 2007, so its not big of a deal. On the bright side, every other F2P is going to have same problem with this new skill. I am sure once someone else figure out whats the maximum xp per hour possible for F2P, then we will know what the general fate is. We haven't have any challenge in awhile, everyone pretty much figure out how to get each lvl 99 with most efficient way now. This skill just set our milestone higher, (grinds a lot more). Granted, RC and Prayer still hard, but with 11 people max out F2P already, its just proves everything is possible. F2P is suppose to be HARDER overall. At least this skill will keep other occupied for a while. I planned to have one skill 200mil xp after I maxed all lvl 99, but it seems the new skill will take the priority on that one. At this rate, I am not going to train many hours per day to get lvl 99, I will just partition them slowly so it won't really matter if it takes me 10 years to finish it. Think of it this way, instead of paying your car insurance in a lump sum of 1500 dollars, which is quite daunting, but you can choose to pay it monthly 125 bucks. Before all those updates came out, I originally plan to camp at the place where tons of goblins are, and just kill them to bury bones until lvl 99. It just takes longer, don't try to do all in short time, you will get burned out.

Actually, see how other people fared before you make those calls. Everything is attainable in F2P, it just takes longer. Let's see how the top 11 people deal with it......

12-Apr-2010 - Dungeoneering Skill!
There are truth in it I do agree, mostly from reading through the post and overall members' concern and reaction regarding to updates and patches. Still, RS has been same to me as always, how I started the game and still playing the game. It's your overall mentally and how you rate the game. I have always been F2P, the only difference for me I can feel is that the game getting easier. That's about it

12-Apr-2010 - Dungeoneering Skill!
I do agree that WOW focused more on team oriented aspect as a game on its own. But it would be pointless for RS to release another soloable grinding skill. Even thought I really like doing things myself, but at least this will offer more variety compare to all other skill so far (not to mentioning training all other skills as well). After all, its only one skill that share the same similarities, majority of the skills still belong to a genre of their own. At least try the new skill yourself to see if you like it or not. Depend on which direction the overall game is going, you can play along with it, or disagree with it, or just walk away completely. PS: I don't like the new skill myself because it needs a group (reason why I never try WoW in the first place, too much meeting and clan dramas I heard), but at least I am going to give it a try before I superficially judge it and generalize it. (At least I should be able to gather up some RS friend for fun in game activities)

Food for Thought
just to be clear did you actually watch the video? or did you just assume it was the south park wow video? because its not -.- i'm not trying to pick a fight i'm just asking because of the whole high level comment. I didn't not watch the video, but perhaps I should have coined it as "image", since that's the first image I see based on YT preview. If the video depicts something else rather than what I think it was (yes, I was referring to the WoW parodies in South Park), then I would have rephrase the statement slightly. The comment I was trying to say is people have this automatic response toward certain things when they first see it. Sort of like associative web, and tend to react it in the a certain way. I am a high level player myself, and saw both positive and negative comments regarding to high level players. Quote: Actually, that image is pretty much what most people thought of in the first place when they see high level player. Or rather, sitting in front of computer a lot. It's just a relative statement that most people will "associate" with when they see a player with high skill set, because it would required a lot of time sitting in front of computer. But like my other RS friend have said, you can't label someone as something else when you have not known the other player.. As a general reflective response, that's why term like nolifer is a derogatory term imo as well.

200M in all Skills
That would be a really dedicated RS family, everyone chip in there time to play. I think high lvl player usually get some sort of stigma like that, just because they are doing things what others consider as impossible. Still, possibility like that do exist, but those high lvl players are probably under huge scrutiny so its would be hard ( but not unheard of) to slip through lots of monitoring. I think someone mentioned it would take 9 years of 8 hours per day playing time to hit 200mil xp goal. It sounds really crazy and impressive, but again, I don't think anyone would try to attempt that without hitting few realistic roadblocks on the way there. Someday, maybe someone will reach it, eventually.

Food for Thought
Actually, that video is pretty what most people thought of in the first place when they see high level player. Again, I think everyone proves a valid point right there. It's just most people like to label something first, and state the reasoning behind it. I don't think it would be errors as your ways since you simply do an action, and other judge and present the final score. For most people, whether it was the process of achieving the goal, or hitting the goal in the end, its more or less personal satisfaction, and different number or praises and negative comments. I just hope that by my own standard, I can play the game relatively well, and do well in real life as well. I often take my own character as sort of self idol, if I can train to be like that, perhaps I can motivate myself a little more in real life too, lol

Yeah, perhaps the topic starter could tidy it up and expanded more to make it into a Tip It Time article.

The F2P General Discussion Thread
For me, I mine iron ores at Rimmington using the cabbage-port + bank deposit box method. After like 30-ish inventories I earned 250k! I'm honestly not that sure if runite ores are that worth it anymore... but I don't have 85 mining yet so meh. The prices fluctuate so much nowadays that its hard to know whats worth good or faster. Just stick to what you comfortable best and do it consistently. The reason why I like runite mining is that due to the lobby update, you can leisurely change world and wait for 30 seconds to go to next time. To me, its almost like a wc or fishing skill, I just mine, hop, wait, read something, hop in, nothing in, hop out, wait, read and go next one. Its not very attention oriented therefore you can multi task while getting the ores. For mining, you will have to quite focused on due to competition and banking the ores quite often. Not saying its a bad thing, it would be great and better if you are going for mining 99. Overall, just do what you like to do, find the most consistent way for it, and cash will come flowing in. In theory, if you have successful runite run, it could potentially 1mil gp per hour, even the least lucky run should be 400k per hour. I got 55 runite ore in first run (1hr and 10min), by just going around the world.......from 1 all the way to the end, and repeat, without timing them. Maybe I was really lucky then

200M in all Skills
Well, truth to be told, most people use no lifer is simply a quick almost sub conscious involved mechanism imo. Simply when others have higher stat then them, its kind of like polar opposite to being called noob. Either way, I do agree with the part that no one should be calling names when they have not met the other one and get to know them personally. In all cases, RS are being played by different kind of people, so the chances of that happening where everyone respect each other is quite slim. If we could somehow extrapolate how long it takes to get 200mil in each different skill and add them all together, it should give us a time how long a player have to spend in hours to get all the skill in 200mil xp Overall, there are too many argument to say what a person should do with their time, even people who are bed ridden or confine to wheel chair could contribute to things. Look at Stephen Hawkin (Sp?), or Rick Haneson. They both of some form of disability, but that doesn't stop them from achieving great things. The thing is whatever outcome it stands in the end, is depend on how YOU perceived it. I generally believe that no one can tell you otherwise, and just do what you love to do ( I know this statement simplified too much stuff, but if it doesn't disrupt others life, and it doesn't affect anything else, it should be fine) We got to live once, and its up to you how you live it, its hard to really set up a clear definition. At the end of the road, I think as long you are satisfied with what you had, its all good.

You don't walk while rcing... just a correction. <_< We did in the olden days. :) Yeah, before the gloves and rest were out, we have to walk a few trips, then probably run for 2 trips, and back to walking again. I just refer RC airs to air walking in my own RS terminology. I think if I were to go wildy, i might just stick to runite ore, but hob mines at pvp world seems like a good idea too.

POLL: What were your thoughts on the Easter Holiday Event?
Same here, I like it simple and don't required too much brain power, and short enough so I don't feel like free labors for those lazy holiday NPC (man, the marionette was so much work, and the one with the animal sort, brain hurts). I think if you read the instruction clear enough, u should get management part alright w/o much issue.

Yeah, I remember that part, but I would assume other players roaming around looking for players to fight, so I just refer them as rev as well

The F2P General Discussion Thread
You can choose not to participate for the duration of the event. That being said, you can make prayer extremely difficult by getting the bones yourself to prayer 99. Or mine all the rune essence yourself to reach rc lvl 99, and air walk them without assist or tokens or tablets. (Plus side is you will end up with ALOT of cash) There are many ways to skin a cat, but in the end, you get a skinless cat, its just depend on how long it takes you. I just think adapt to things as time changes, you can always stick to old style training if you want to. Eg. I am making gold amulet now to get craft 99 (instead of waste tons of cash on cow hides), but plan to fish raw lobs (bank them) for lvl 99 fishing, and walking airs to get lvl 99 rc, and using those cash for lvl 99 prayer. It's slow, but hey, at least I can drag the game out longer.

Food for Thought
Man, then those without girlfriend or wife must be extremely unhappy. @Zotto, I think your opinion is what most players felt when they started playing. I keep using mith scimitar until I was combat 75 since I thought it was good enough. I didn't change to full rune until combat 92 since I thought my mix and match armors (addy, steel, dragon hide leg, black) were more than enough. The thing is, I often hear people talk about their plans of efficiency, but it won't work until you carry it out and be consistent. So I just train them until they are lvl 99, and then move on to next skill. The cash come from training those skill will add up to a very nice amount (assuming its resource gathering) Even thought I have 100mil gp in bank, I still think I am not rich. In fact, I think I have minus 500mil now because of potential prayer 99 and rc 99 to work on, lol. Still something will work out, boat will always straight themselves out when they reach port. (or crash trying)

autoers still a problem?
Fair enough, you can't help to get side tracked in those kind of topic Autors are still around, but they no longer stands as a major threat compare to before, that's all.
-
autoers still a problem?
Since I mentioned its the type of mentality that some people are with, so I don't expect everyone to follow that kind of rules. As long as there are people around, there will never be a unified concept. Still just like Justin said, for the most part, play it right, and don't break rules. Since most people could use many things to justified their action, so by no means that I disagree with those that mentioned how RWT trading and selling since they are stating the facts. Its again, human nature. No one is perfect
