There's a difference between a hard to obtain item, and a very useful item that the only way of acquiring it is based purely upon luck which has no easier to get alternative. (Example, you want to bind a primal body, you need the right boss and luck to get one as a drop, but hey, you can get a prom body till then. Nothing like that with the hood, not that I could imagine an easier to get, worse alternative that is still useful.) Also, can we throw surgeboxes in this topic? I have a hood but I really want a box now >.< That's the whole point of a Shadow Silk hood, effect-wise it has no alternatives as it has terrible stats (having other items that had the same effect would devalue the hiood's usefulness). As a result, people resort to alternatives which have much better stats, but lack its unique effect (for example, a prom plate).

Mind sharing those variety of reasons, leaving out ones like "I don't like it@@@@@"?
  3. Special teak logs give a reduced price when turning logs into planks, useless as turning logs into planks is a waste of time. :P
  4. That would be an awsome reward. Not really related to the desert, but adding a halo from cwars (or an item with similar effects) would be much more useful than an enchanted water tiara. Maybe a Marimbo halo? Doubt it, but would be epic. :P
  5. Doesn't that contradict the definition of 'perfect'? :P
  6. A new area, far away from any other teleports, with a Spirit Tree patch would be nice. :P
  7. No they don't.
  8. If you have that much problem with people leeching, kick them or leave the team yourself.
  9. Not like it happened last year or anything.
  10. The prices are fine, Dungeoneering isn't a hard skill to train, just level up if you can't afford something at your current level.
  11. Maybe no "right" to do so, but it would have probably been an act of mutual respect if the rangers didn't start taking his spot. This game can be competitive by all means, but it's just so much nicer when people just yield to other people and world switch instead of stealing spots. So why doesn't he hop world? Why should the rangers hop just because he is too selfish to leave & let them take the dragons, when they have the ability to take them by using their superior skills? It's like... when you're at a bank, and there's not enough cashiers. You can queue up, or you can come back later when it's less busy, or go to a different branch. The one thing you wouldn't do is just 'shove in' past everyone so you get what you want and not care about anyone else. If there's a mother with a baby in front, you wouldn't barge past them because you have "superior skills". It's just social etiquette really - if someone else is using something you want, ask them nicely and be prepared to wait for it, or go find it somewhere else; and in RuneScape, the latter option really is as simple as spending 60 seconds on a world hop. With slayer monsters/FMing spots/Ore spawns there's really not an excuse for crashing unless you're purposefully being anal. The difference is that RuneScape is a game based on competition, you're encouraged to train your skills on purpose so that you don't have to deal with these kinds of situations. There is also the factor that in a bank irl, the person infront of you will be finished in a few minutes and then the cashier can serve you, in RuneScape, I could spend hours killing the same dragon spawn while you're waiting, merely because there isn't a reasonable limit to the amount of bones I might want. There's also the issue of the dragon being a different monster, it might still be the same spawn, but it is a different monster. If got to the front of a queue at a theme park, then after having a ride, automatically went back to the front of the queue again, you would find that unfair, especially if you were the second person in the queue.

  13. This post just proves that you know nothing about efficiency. Sure, smithing rune platebodies is fast xp, just as making demonic thrones is fast construction xp. Somehow, neither method is very popular. Why? because people aren't stupid enough to call others cheap(and for reference, if there were a handful of people on these boards who would go for such ridiculously expensive methods, i'd be one of them). Overall, because you still LOSE TIME making money(and having only two ge slots in f2p is a killer), meaning that even though the smithing xp is higher, the overall xp is lower. Why do you keep making such ridiculous comparisons? The cost of making Rune platebodies is around 30gp/xp while the cost of making demonic thrones is over 970gp/xp. Rune platebodies are under 3x the cost of Rune 2h swords at the moment, and making money is nowhere near as hard as you seem to assume, nor does it take time, as you merchant while training other skills. You haven't lost time making money since before the GE came out.
  14. You getting there first doesn't mean you have any right at all to be killing those dragons over someone else.
  15. Or dragon platebodies, dragonfire shields, spirit shields and... Yeah, lets be smart about this, not stupid(money doesn't grow on trees, particularly in f2p). Those are ridiculous comparisons, they are not only P2P but extremely hard to buy in bulk. Money isn't an issue with most of them as well, as they tend to make profit at various times. Rune platebodies, on the other hand, are just as easy to make in bulk as rune 2h swords or platelegs, and rarely cost much more per bar to make. Rune 2h swords and platelegs are twice as efficient as rune platebodys at 3m an hour(which is ridiculously high for f2p). 'Nuff said. Also, i've got more than 2.5m smithing xp smithing dragon platebodies... If you merchant (and yes, F2Pers can merchant) while training other skills, it is incredibly easy to make money in both F2P and P2P. The point is, making Rune platebodies is the fastest Smithing XP in F2P, and you can't deny that, regardless of what the cost is. Just because you might not have the money to train Smithing with rune platebodies, it doesn't mean no one else does.

  17. He heals if any member of your team gets caught in his "Come Closer!" attack.
  18. Gloating? I just don't want false information thrown around as fact. I think it's pretty much accepted nowadays to have knowledge of efficiency and no need to correct a statement(unless you learn it yourself, you are never going to learn), furthermore as knowledge of this kind(grimy's spreadsheets) are so easy to look up for reference. Your statement was not just false because it was not to most efficient method, but also because considering f2p, it's MUCH harder to make money for a 200m skill- you have a 3rd of the ge slots and around 10% of the good items to be flipped, thus the moneymaking part would just be endless. Just for reference, smithing rune 2h's/platelegs is also the best p2p smithing method. Depends what you mean by best, rune platebodies are (albeit barely) faster xp/hr, despite costing more.
  19. I'm not sure what planet you're from, but there's never enough on the table for everyone in my team to get a toolkit and enough ess for laws and cosmics, let alone a log too. Or do your teams not use gatestones? two of the people I dung with have laws bound, and I make ~5 alch spells to alch the tier 8s, I have more then enough for ess and logs. Because cutting one log is a waste of time but alching isn't?
  20. Moss Giants on Crandor are lower Defence & drop big bones as well, although you might kill them too fast on a low pop world.
  21. Get two 99s before skillcapes came out.
  22. Articultural replied to gremmy's topic in Rants
Making items that are SUPPOSED to be rare & hard to obtain easier to get isn't a good thing.
  23. I didn't anywhere specify a level 3 skiller, it's merely more efficient to have a lower levelled skiller as they won't be doing combat but their combat level will still effect the levels of the monsters in the dungeon. Next time actually read my post. <_<
  24. ^78 for Morrigan's.
