  1. Ok, I will try it with my whip on the next go-round. I have at least become expert on exiting via the lectern so I'm not quite so worried about losing it now. ;) I have an obsidian shield which I also have not used, will try this along with whip, as well. Thanks!
  2. I don't think you can skip more than a very, very few quests to get to 270 quest points and still meet the requirements. Maybe Monk's Friend, lol. :D
  3. I do have a whip but have been loath to use it as it is my most valuable item at the moment. Maybe I should give it a try. Do you think it would be a big improvement over a dragon weapon in this boss fight? Can't wear Barrows armour yet. Too bad because I think this would help.
  4. 70 attack is my highest combat skill with the others hardly what I would call close to that. Also Any strategy you recall? Thanks for the help.
  5. Entirely possible, I've noticed this happening while crafting. But, wouldn't it be best to suggest bringing a "few" threads rather than just "a" thread? It does stack, after all. Worthy of an edit, in my opinion, if it saves someone a bit of grief.
  6. . . . and making me feel as inadequate as the guy I'm trying to encourage -.- My stats are as follows: 70 Attack 65 Defense 69 Hitpoints 67 Magic 57 Prayer - not that it helps at all with this quest 66 Ranged 66 Strength 43 Summoning - again, no help For an overall combat level of 89. Any strategies for beating this first monster at my levels? I realize I will have to finish all of the fights in one go but I at least need to get past the first one. I have used super pots, rune armour, dragon weapon, helm of Nietz, dragon boots, and tuna potatoes for food. Four attempts have had me running for the lectern just before certain death. I've been so busy eating to stay alive I can't say I noticed if I am being meleed, ranged, maged, or all three. It may be that I need to just wait until my melee stats are higher, but if there is a better way to do it I would appreciate any helpful information.
  7. The mirror interface has changed since the guide was originally written, apparently. There is no longer a top and bottom of the mirror. And because there is not a picture of the interface in the guide it is even more confusing. I only discovered the difference when I found a guide that showed a picture of the interface and saw immediately that it was different than what I was looking at while doing the quest. I am certainly not criticizing the guide author. Your instructions make perfect sense when looking at the old interface. ETA: Here is an image of the old interface When I have time I will go back to the temple and take a screen shot of the way it looks now. Edit 2: Screen shot image of new interface. Please note that this is not the pillar of either of the doors in question, so do not use this as an example of that. I just wanted to show what people are looking at in the context of the changes that have been suggested. NOW I'm finished :D
  8. Good question and one that I don't know the answer to as I use the untold number of maple logs I get from Kingdom Management to train fm with.
  9. So true, had not thought about this.
  10. Do this minigame http://tip.it/runescape/index.php?page=beacon_network.htm#rewards after the All Fired Up quest to get the ring of fire and fire gloves, wearing both will give a 5% boost to experience, and then burn the best log you can. Edit: Oops, I just realized you can't yet get the gloves, but the ring is still worth it for a 2% increase.
  11. I often use the cave between Relleka and Keldagrim for troll assignments. The trolls are lower level and there are safe spots for using a halberd if you like after they become non-aggressive. Take some alch runes for the drops and a couple of combat potions to make it easy to do in one trip. The fairy ring code DKS will take you just north of the cave entrance which is east of the Rock Crabs.
  12. Thank you for this information, it ties together all of the components of the threads linked to above - in my understanding, anyway.
  13. I am unclear on the unstrung gold amulet suggestion. How does crafting gold bars into amulets translate into profit? If I look at the GE prices for both, it seems to be a loss. I must be overlooking something. Any clarification?
  14. According to his signature his combat level is 87. Duradel is not an option. And Tubby, why not stick to one thread with your questions that are all on the same subject rather than posting 4 different ones? Sorry if this seems rude but it is just as rude not to acknowledge the thoughtful answers given on your other threads.
  15. It is definitely worth it to do the quest just as soon as you have the requirements. And yes, you can beat it easily. I did at a much lower combat level. Well, not too much lower but I ran over there and started it as soon as I hit 85 combat. Here is the info you are looking for on the slayer point system. The slayer ring teleports seem worth it in themselves. http://tip.it/runescape/?page=slayer_guide.htm#SmokingKills
  16. Isn't it the dwarf on Ice Mountain you need to speak to? Nulodion I think. Anyway it's the one who sells cannonball mold if I'm right.
  17. Aside from the training aspect, get the Explorer Ring from the Lumbridge Achievement Diary and use it daily for 30 free low-alchs. It adds up quickly at lower levels.
  18. No, you can't use assist to do quests. Makes sense when you think about it, really. Never heard the RFD snake-cooking scheme. If it works it is most certainly a loophole.
  19. I could not agree more about training agility and will do almost anything to avoid running around in circles for hours. You can do the Chosen Commander quest at level 41 agility by using a summer pie to get to the 46 agility level you need during the quest. The reward includes 20k agility experience which will be a few levels for you. Troll Romance is another good chunk of experience (8k) if you haven't done it yet.
  20. Yes, you do. You get xp for each ore mined, even if its at the same time. Thats why its really worth wearing it. : Oh this is good to know! Now I just have to remember to wear it. Does it work with any level Varrock Armour?
  21. Have you looked at this excellent slaying guide? http://forum.tip.it/viewtopic.php?f=103&t=764201 It is full of images so it takes a long time to load (I'm still waiting) and I think it is split into the first two posts. You can use the control F function to search for Red Dragons. Not sure if it will answer your particular question but it might be a start.
  22. As far as questing goes, have you looked at Tip.It's quest calculator? Start by going to the Quest List here http://tip.it/runescape/index.php?rs2quest and check the quests you have completed. Then go to the calculator here http://tip.it/runescape/?quest_calc to get your stats. You may have to manually adjust some of them, but there is a button for doing that. What is returned is the list of available quests, whether you have the requirements and what they are, show/hide buttons for the rewards, links to the quest guides, etc. It is a great tool with the only problem being that it doesn't return accurate information when a combat level or combat level component, ie Summoning, is a requirement. Have fun!
  23. His name is Waymotin, or I think something close to that, and he is standing next to Zoknock at the end of that evil tunnel. He will give you another sigil. Meleeing the demon is suicide and don't let anyone tell you any different, regardless of your combat level. Range it from a distance using the rope bridge while using protect from magic prayer.
  24. Is everyone using melee attacks? Maybe you have to range it to get experience. Would make some sense. Anyone tried that?
