Gun Control
You make it sound like it's a bad thing. Killing somebody over $100? Yeah...it's a bad thing. Yeah, but you'd pull a gun on him. And if you wouldn't use it, why carry it in the first place? I'm no gun collector, but it just seemed strange to me.... See, your second sentence supports gun control. I've never completely advocated their removal, but you made it sound like there should be no control whatsoever.

New Laptop - What to do?
Wow they changed as much as that? My Asus laptop only came with 2 or 3 crapware programs. I also never had trouble with HP drivers, to whoever said that. Your problem might come from drivers, but you're not in the right place if the drivers you get from HP's website doesn't work. Well I only had the experience with that one laptop, so I can't speak for all of them..but yeah, I was really surprised.

Glad to hear you're keeping it. Looking on the bright side - you have support as you've said, and you're 25. Even though you're single, it could definitely be worse. Best of luck with it.

Gun Control
Hunting and range shooting are different things completely - I've got no issue with those. I've never understood why collectors need to have fully functional guns though...if they're serious about collecting they'd want to keep them in as good shape as possible (not firing them). See, the problem with guns is that they incite violence. If you were walking down the street with $100 in your wallet, and a man came up to you and demanded it, what would you do? You'd probably give it to him, and be short $100. If you had a gun, you'd shoot him, and instead of being down $100, you've now killed someone. Personal protection is fine, but let's leave the firearms to the cops who are really qualified to use them. If you feel the need to carry a firearm for personal protection then I'd say you're likely to use it. As guns are more available legally, it becomes far more easily to get them illegally. A large number of illegal guns captured here are legal guns that have been stolen. No legal guns? Hell of a lot harder to find guns of any sort. You were taught how to use it properly? I'm sure you were, and I applaud that your parents had the sensibility to ensure that. Does nothing to change the fact that many, many people weren't - and that road rage shootings happen in the states. I can't remember a single one ever happening in Canada. Yeah, stupid decisions kill people - so why don't we as a society feel the need to help those inclined to make such decisions? Hell of a big difference between an angry punch and an angry bullet.

The Style Thread
My brother found something similar to your first pic for around $100 in the Toronto area. It was nice, I'll have to ask him where he got it. Thing is, it wasn't super thick - Probably would be ok down to -10, depending on how you like the cold.

Gun Control
This is actually false. There's a lot of debate about what it means, and I'd argue that it's not a right to individually bear arms. In the context with the law and the intent of the founders, it's clearly about the ability for an army to be raised, as Jefferson did not want a national military for fear of being involved in other country's conflicts or in the case of a tyrant imposing a police state. The Latin etymology also seems to suggest this: And how far does one take it if one believes in the individual right? Do individuals have the right to own a tank? Etc. Though I don't see it as a protected individual right, you're not going to see me argue in favor of much gun control in the US because of how Western Cowboy people are about their guns. The time to change this mentality with gun control measures has long since passed. No because a tank is against federal and state laws. Simple handguns and long guns are not. Technically yes the constitution would give you the right to have a tank, but laws will not allow it so it supersedes it. You have to remember, militia back then was volunteers, so they provided their own weapons, own uniforms, etc. So really, it is talking to the individual. Individuals have the rights to bear arms so then if the need arises they can form that well regulated militia. The militia is not "owned" by the government, simply controlled and organized by such, hence the well regulated part. So they really have no right to disarm the militia. Guns don't kill people, bad decisions do. So if guns were to be made illegal you wouldn't object? Tanks don't blow up buildings, trigger happy soldiers do.

New Laptop - What to do?
Lol, you think Toshiba is bad? My brother's Asus laptop came with 40 different pieces of crapware. Just uninstalling it is probably your best bet, that's what I did.

Gun Control
I support gun control. The average citizen has absolutely no need for something that's only purpose is explicitly to kill. Note: Exceptions of course are acceptable, such as hunters and collectors.

Strange computer issues
Nothing special happened whatsoever, I didn't make any changes at all. The problem is significantly lessened since I switched sockets. The psu is here: http://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817341019&Tpk=17-341-019 I also have a 300w one that I bought for my server which I suppose I could swap out.... EDIT: Looking at their feedback page it seems this PSU has a lot of problems...I wonder why I bought it :?

Strange computer issues
Ok, memory test 100% ok. Processor test fine as well (only ran it for 10 minutes though). Graphics card fine as well, although running at 85 degrees which I'm not sure about. Is there any way I can test my power supply directly?

Communism Fails.
Yeah, in theory, its a great concept, everyone got food, everyone got a car, everyone got healthcare, everyone is no more then one another sadly, the execution of Communism in lets say, Cuba.....failed, due to that  The problem with execution is that it fails everywhere. In theory it is a perfect system. But theory is far different from reality, and the independent nature of the human spirit can't be crushed like communism requires.

Things that annoy the HELL out of you.
Or when the teacher forces you to debate something that there is no logical reason for... such as arguing FOR Quebec separating from Canada. I tried to take a zero on the assignment because I found nothing to support me, but she made me do it. My entire argument was that a lot of them want out, so let them go. That one's easy to argue :P

9/11 attacks
I'm not saying people should try to forget, what I'm trying to say is get over it. That's very sensitive and considerate to the thousands of people who lost family members that day. You're the one being inconsiderate. If anyone lost a family member or a friend, maybe they should celebrate their lives instead of how they died? 9/11 is an event everyone should get over, and even forgive and forget. On the other hand, the wonderful lives of thousands of people should never be forgotten. We spend too much time concerned about death to appreciate the life that comes before it. I'll believe that when it happens to you. It's unfair to try to put yourself in their shoes. I'm not saying people should try to forget, what I'm trying to say is get over it. That's very sensitive and considerate to the thousands of people who lost family members that day. That's very sensitive and considerate to the *hundreds* of thousands of Iraqis, Afghanis, and soldiers who were killed during the past nine years. I never made any reference to that. I certainly don't expect their families to "just get over it".

How far is too far?
The main problem is that these actions aren't discouraged at the leadership level. The only consequence for these people would be being kicked from their clans, and most leaders out there don't have the balls to do it.
