Why wouldn't you stay at 97/98 range so you don't waste the xp you get from killing bosses and stuff?
-
Bursting rock lobsters is about 8 gp/xp atm with the crazy death rune prices and without extreme magic pots. You'd make it to like 92.5 magic with that 32m, you'd need ~80m for 99 (pretty sure barraging from 94 would be better though).

cleaned my bank finally & rate this
D Jay99 replied to Vincent's topic in Achievements (Drops, Bank Pictures and Levels)
Useless farming seeds etc, useless armour (all rune/treasure trail stuff), useless summoning 2nds/pouches (you only make 4-6 kinds of pouches while training right?), useless dragon stuff (everything that isn't a good spec weapon), obby stuff, useless bows/ammo. That alone should gain you like 100 bank spaces, use that space to make a drop tab where you store drops you get from slayer. As for the bank, you got loads of things you're not going to use in the near future, but it's still worth quite a lot, so 8/10. -
Yes it does. A normal human would get overly bored and stop doing it for a while, thus losing xp =/ I'd personally choose 1 hour of blackjacking over 3 hours of pickpocketing. There honestly is no difference, except that you actually have to pay attention to blackjacking and that you can improve your xp rate by practicing and paying attention. In my opinion, pickpocketing is the thing that should be considered grinding and pp/blackjacking shouldn't, since those actually require some skill. I don't think there would be any harm in wearing gloves of silence while pickpocketing, since Jagex specifically states they help you to do that.

When I ranged slayer for 93-94 range, I just tank ranged everything in void+zammy book with either bunyip (in non multicombat) or geyser titan (in multi). This worked out pretty well, enhanced excalibur + inventory of monkfish usually lasts you a full task, and if it doesn't having to bank once isn't the end of the world. You might want to buy a bss for stuff like nechs, but it really isn't that neccesary.

Removal of new high level potions in PvP
D Jay99 replied to The Observer's topic in General Discussion
Too bad overload is worthless now. It was clearly a potion made for hybrids in a pvp situation ... Wouldn't it still be pretty useful at tds/dks, where you use both range/melee? It would make brews easier to use too I guess. -
Removal of new high level potions in PvP

gee, how wonderfully selfless of yourself! Yeah, I totally feel that way too. But honestly, how many of the people who are getting all worked up about jagex giving in to the pvpers, who couldn't be bothered to train herblore just to have an advantage, would have actually trained their herblore level to use it in pvp or would even have lost to other pkers who did train herblore? Not that many I'd say. Everyone is acting like it affects them personally, but in reality the 'nerf' only affected a fairly small number of people. And of course, you can dislike how jagex handled this and gave in to the players again, but that's nothing new. I personally don't see why there is such a big fuss about this update. -
Removal of new high level potions in PvP

I'm sorry for all you pvp'ers out there, but I actually really like how they made the potions unusable in pvp. It just means supplies to train herblore will be buyable again sooner, which in turn means I'll be able to get 90/92/95 (idk if overload is worth getting yet and if I want to stew/greenmans ale every time I need extreme range pots) sooner! So yeah, I think this was a pretty good move (at least for me). -
Honestly, don't bother buying a cannon + cballs for just 100 velds if you're just going to resell. I recall using like 2.5k cballs per mutated veld task, but those have more than 1.5 times the xp (I meant hp here lol). So, I'd say like 1k cballs would be enough.
-
I like to aim for a rounded level myself. I will be getting 99 summoning and hp because those are over 95 already, but will be keeping my other combat stats at 95 because I don't think it's worth the time to train them 95-99. Same goes for most of my other skill levels, I think they're a pretty good balance between time spent and the advantage they give me. I will be getting 95 herblore soon, because it's a nice round level and I'll be able to make every useful potion again (greenmans ale for overload, I wont need many of those anyway). I'd say that if you don't especially like a skill, don't bother with 99 but just get 85/90/95 to max it out. I do understand the people who get a 99 skill just because they have money to waste and nothing better to do though, 99 in almost any still is a pretty good achievement.

I sometimes feel that way too, those days go by just doing nothing and doing a herb run when I can, then logging off again. I would recommend setting a goal or something, do other stuff you enjoy. There really is a lot more to do besides farming, I'm sure you can find something! Having something to do other than herb runs makes rs a lot more fun. Still, awesome that you actually got 99 because you enjoyed the skill, that's how it should be done. 9/10

26.7m actually  Still, have fun with the money! -
In the end, you pay exactly the same, if not more, as someone who bought everything from the GE. I say more, because there are (currently, but it will change) better things to put your money on in MTK, of instance. Gahtering seconds is also pretty damn stupid, considering it gives no xp. 5-15 hours of TDS, making 40m of a clawy drop and getting some experience along, seems better than getting no xp, and gathering 40m worth of seconds in 80 hours. The problem being that currently you can't buy any supplies, so there is no "paying exactly the same" option. That will only become valid in a few weeks. So why get a head start by doing some herbs yourself right now? You lose some gp income efficiency? It's a game. I am doing that lol, but even seeds are hard to buy. I bought enough toadflax seeds for 91 herblore right after the update, about 3 months until I have the herbs  That also shows how slow herblore is if you have to collect the herbs yourself. I really shouldn't have sold my toadflax, I could have had like 14k of it by now and sold most of it at 2.9k each too

1k crimson charm Waterfiend trip :o
D Jay99 replied to Jouke's topic in Achievements (Drops, Bank Pictures and Levels)
Sometimes. I didn't get too many of them, maybe about 200 total. I usually just picked up ranarrs and water talismans instead of sapphire bolts. I was restocked for ranging potions 4 times and I got rid of them then. So we're rating a waterfiend "trip" and you restocked 4 times? Then it's obviously 4 trips, not 1 trip. 0/10. Was restocked, meaning people brought him potions just so he would be done faster. Pretty nice, 8/10. -
Awesome barrows run
D Jay99 replied to Wachtwoord's topic in Achievements (Drops, Bank Pictures and Levels)
Very nice! If I may ask, how long does a full trip of 13 chests take? -
I am wondering, which method would be the best (most efficient/fastest/whatever) for me, with 90-93 combat stats and maybe 30m to waste on supplies/armour etc?

What? If you dont take seed:cost of herb into account, how can you calculate profit? In your spreadsheet, your formula should be [herb price*(whatever your average yeild is)]-[seed cost] or else... how could it be done? And no, we dont take dead seeds into account. Not because we dont want to, but its just too damn difficult to take those into the formula. We just dont know the death % is. And no, there isnt anything that is always the best profit. Thats why we need spreadsheets or calculators. That isnt any difficult maths at all, you just have to check ge from time to time. snaps: 12.1k*6.86 - 64.2k = 18.806k kwuarm: 3833*6.86 - 6245 = 20.04938k I mean, some people say it's best to plant toadflax because the herb is worth 2 times as much as the seed, while you need about 5 snaps to pay for the seed. Which obviously isn't right. I guess I didn't word it clearly. And we do take deaths into account, they're already factored in in the average herb yield (which of course isn't accurate if you don't use my arm's patch).

[hide=Data] [/hide]So, according to that data, slayer is about 140k profit/hour. I don't know if 96 hours of data is enough, but it will at least get close. I wasn't that lucky with whip/d boot drops, so if you'd get like 2 whips and 5 boots more you'd make about 200k/hour, with higher stats and more attention maybe 240k. You'd have to play nearly 8 hours a day to make 13m in a week of slaying. Seems unlikely. It does give nearly the same amount of crimsons per hour to slay that way, 33/hour and quite some other charms. /slightly off topic. Well to go a little more off topic. That's with your 92 slayer. He was talking about players with less then 70 Slayer getting 13m in a week. Now i know that dragons can make money. But that means some of the best monsters are cut out. Abby Demons, Spiritual Mages, Gargoyles, and a few others. But other then that. A very nice log you made there. Haha thanks, I was planning to keep a log from 88 to 95 slayer but really can't be bothered slaying seriously during school, so 88-92 will have to do. :P
