D Jay99 replied to KingDodongo's topic in BlogScape (Ongoing Progress Reports and Goals)
Just read your revamped blog, looks good! Levelling really fast too, keep it up  If you ever want farming advice just ask your extremely awesome, handsome and knowledgeable farming expert :P O yeah, try to use some lamps and stuff on slayer to round it to 80  -
Yay 99 Summoning!!
D Jay99 replied to tedbundty's topic in Achievements (Drops, Bank Pictures and Levels)
Awesome and useful 99, good job  -
Ah okay, I'll have to try that then! The max hit of smoke barrage being 3 lower than ice barrage's max shouldn't matter much.
-
It costs 2.5k/cast instead of 1.4k/cast for ice burst though, do you really think a 25% increase in speed is worth that? Ice barrage costs 2750 gp/cast at the moment, would it be worth it to use smoke barrage over ice barrage?
-
91-96 summoning cost me 7 gp/xp. Ice bursts used to get you ~110k summoning xp per 1k casts, that would be 155k/1k with extreme mage pots. So, you're paying about 10gp/xp to get the charms, and 7 gp/xp to use them. 17 gp/xp total. I'm not sure about barraging, I heard it costs about the same per charm but gets you less mage xp per charm. It will always be under 20 gp/xp, if you can afford that you shouldn't have to worry. Do you have some data on the smoke barrage thing? I'm planning to go bursting soon but if it really is a lot better I'll do smoke barrage.

I was able to kill ~180 waterfiends/hour with my stats and an iron titan in the chaos tunnels, so that would definitely be a good option for you (I'd say you could get like 160 kills per hour with a lesser familiar, no slay helm but higher stats). So, scarabites would be worth trying too. Read this guide page 11 for more information. Slayer averaged about 34 crims/hour for me, if you include other charms maybe 45 crimsons worth of xp.

If I may direct you to this awesome AOW guide. The guide itself is pretty good, and somewhere on page 4-6 there are some tests that prove over 80 mage attack is unnecesary. You can use cheaper armour like mystic to lose less if you die, or you can focus more on prayer/range defence/weight bonuses or something like that. You could even try void, you can only get ~50 mage bonus with that but it might even be better with the accuracy/damage boost (idk what it does exactly).

09-Nov-2009 - Champions Challenge Update and Hairstyles

You know, there's more to this game than just updates. -
7 runes is like 1400k/run extra profit (rough estimate). You can do about 20 runs in half an hour. Yes, it is worthwhile.

http://runescape.wikia.com/wiki/Calculators/Potions Like everything including extreme potions (lantadyme rose to 6k each, extreme defs used to be good) is 25+ gp/xp at the moment. That pretty much means you're looking at at least 300m to get 99 herblore, plus most stuff is either unbuyable or crashing. The market is really unstable, the only relatively safe thing to do would be training with serum 207, which is like 90k xp/hour if you buy unf pots and still pretty expensive. I'd advise against getting 99 at the moment, maybe get 90 to unlock the useful pots and get 99 when the market is stable again (will probably take a while).
-
That 3m cost estimate was off by a lot actually, I have no idea how I got to 3m. It's about 12m (at 7 gp/xp, might be a bit higher for you cause of lower level pouches).

I really like the in other news... this week, awesome updates that are actually useful in day-to-day gameplay. -
Okay, then use that spot.

2. Anything over 70/80 mage bonus is overkill. If you can get that with dagon-hai, you could use that instead of ahrims without efficiency loss. I think you can get like 50 mage bonus max with void and I haven't seen any tests on that, so I'm not really sure if that would be worth it. I don't think it would hurt much to try it though, just don't go get a void mage helm just for that. 4. I think the u-bend spot got unusable after the safespot update, I heard you have to use the ladder now. I haven't tried it myself yet though. 6. At my level, using the charms costs about 7 gp/xp after having traded in all pouches/charms etc. So, that would be 25m for the runes and like 3m for the actual summoning. You will initially have to spend more on the shards, but you will get a large percentage of that back. All of your other assumptions/statements are correct as far as I know.

He's considering doing either nats or double cosmics, not astrals. Ooh wait. I thought he was 82 already. Never mind that post. I've done countless of nature runs already: yet 3k an hour has never ever been achievable for me, whether I used graahks, 4-pouch-graahks, abbys, fairy rings, selling+buying back to tai bwo wannai.... Really when I measure over long times (1-2 hours) I get at most 2.5k crafted an hour. I'd like to see a video or some other proof that it's done. (Sure at times you will get 3k an hour, but it's impossible to sustain that speed even if you could nullify the human behaviour). You can ask almost any maxed player for ess/hour and they'll all reply with 3k/hour or something. It just takes concentration and practice. I'm pretty sure I could get it myself too, I'll try it when I can be bothered.
-
You can't even craft astrals through the abyss. Try to calc it again, but with 3k ess used/hour for both natures and astrals.
-
600k xp/hour. Yeah. If you're doing to defend yourself at least do it properly  7/10 for 99 range, good luck with whatever you're going to use it for.
-
I went 11 abyssal demon tasks without a whip at some point, that really made me start to dislike the task. I'm currently at 7 boots ~2k spirit mages kills too, but I never had more than 2 tasks without boots. Never really had any other dry streaks because I don't monster hunt. I just can't get myself to do that regularly without having at least close to perfect stats/items.
-
I don't know about your stats, but last time I finished my task of 4 miths in 4.5 minutes without extreme antifires (and thus having to eat more often). Lbs + rune def = 86 stab + 55 str Zs = 85 stab + 75 str They have the same speed too I think, since zs is whip speed and so are most swords. +20 str better than +1 stab?
-
If you know the amount of experience you want, you can usually calc the cost/profit by using this.
-
Iron/steel dragons, hellhounds and kalphites for me. First two because the task takes quite a while to finish and doesn't give good xp, even though it might be a lot better now with extreme antifires + zs + yak. I haven't tried that yet. Hellhounds because they're just plain boring, and kalphites annoy me for some reason. Maybe it's the crowds and the poison. Anyway, I'd recommend blocking those, but just swap hellhounds/kalphites with whatever tasks you dislike. For advice on how to do tasks the fastest way possible, check this guide.
-
About 13m cash and 170m in items at the moment. Will turn 10m in antifires into worthless extreme antifires soon though.
-
Any mage bonus over 70/80 or something gets you the same results. You actually want the boots and the lyre, after you bank them they free space up for the drops you'll get (unless you want to leave the arrows on the ground for the first two ppots in order to lengthen your trip).
-
Ehm I can't really be bothered to check the inv etc, but you seem to have too many placeholders. My setup: (with some monks and a thrownaxe in terrorbird): Basically swap some placeholders with ppots, and bring an imp box to bank lyre/boots to free up 3 spaces for drops.
-
About 260 per 1k bursts, or 5.2k crims total. It's like 110k summ xp/1k bursts (depending on summ level), that would be 2150k summoning xp.
