Junk
Hmm, that is a far better guideline than the rather useless information I provided.

Ear orgasm.
I find both the title and music rather tasteless. Thanks for pointing it out though, I followed some links around and eventually found some that I liked. I suppose that it's all a matter of taste.

Extraterrestrial life
Ah, sorry to drift so far off topic. I believe that Drake's equation is both brilliant and untestable, although it seems likely that evolution will not restrict itself to our sole dimension of thought: if we assume only water and carbon based life forms can exist, the odds are considerably lower. Perhaps future research into the actual dimensions of the universe will help us understand the probability. If the universe is truly infinite (possible, but my head starts to spin when I consider the implications) then there are certainly a truly infinite number of life forms. If not, which I personally find more like (but perhaps even more confusing) then I stand towards the side of thinking other life is quite nearly guaranteed, although unlikely to be discovered or otherwise interacted with by us.

This is unrelated to what I was actually saying though. So you have never done that to me. I admit that. And you may very well be the better man because of it. But I'm no theist either. And in saying that their beliefs are a "delusion of the masses adhere to because of a sense of fear, ignorance and hatred of others that has been carefully pruned and tended to by our culture and twisted sense of morality" you are saying that their beliefs are inferior. Quite vividly I might add. Why, the word "delusion" alone connotes inferiority. I hold, and am certain that I will forever continue to hold, that a belief in a supernatural power based solely on the strength of your faith is inferior to a mindset that is tempered by scientific rigor and thorough consideration, which encompasses compassion and our moral beliefs. However, I would never say that a theist is less of a person, or that they aren't an equal of me, beliefs or otherwise.

What's the deal with book readers?
I agree with all of that except for TIF (I'm assuming that's what you're referring to?) being supernerdy. I'm not exactly the most nerdy individual in existence (yes, I may play D&D, played RS for several years, and don't attend school, but I also play multiple sports and have a bit of a life) but really, this isn't that nerdy.

Connection Drops
This happened to me as well, but just for an hour or two while I was training Construction, then was gone when I had left for a while. Strange, but I think it's probably related to the computer it's on.

58 Dungeoneering, level 29 Prestige
That is cheap, but man 210k of them? That's a lot of work, but the skill cape is quite respected, and the skill is certainly useful.

OK, I admit that I really don't have that much knowledge of firearms: I know the difference between semi-auto and bolt action, but aside from that... But still, all if would take is for him to lose control of the gun(s), and some really bad stuff could obviously happen. But really, why take the risk, no matter how minor, and with military equipment wasting taxpayer-financed ammo, it really does seem stupid to me.- Extraterrestrial life
Duty is a relative term: being a nihilist, I don't find any innate purpose in life, but instead use the word to describe a value that I've assigned to myself. I will not stand by while people are indoctrinated, lives made miserable and politicorp agendas furthered simply because I should. I don't stand against it because I seek iconoclasm (although I welcome the label) I don't fight it wherever I can because I believe that I'm superior; I do it because it's the right thing to do.- Extraterrestrial life
No, it's the preaching and the arrogance. You're no different than theist preachers. You feel that the only life worth living is the one in line with your beliefs and that anyone who doesn't feel the same is beneath you. No, it's not the fact that their life of beliefs are less "valuable" however you care to quantify that statement, it's that their actions have a negative effect on us as a whole. The needs of the many outweigh the needs of the one. Why should the quality of life for everyone be assigned less value than the ignorant ramblings of a few, indoctrinated, deluded individuals? I don't preach. I present whatever evidence I have for the opinion that is best supported by scientific and moral fact. I also don't spend any of my time stealing money from the elderly, molesting children or blathering on about moral degradation while I blatantly lie to support the Regime that beats us all down, all because I believe I have a moral duty that outweighs the rights of any individual. I can't begin to explain to you the abuse, both physical and mental that has been laid upon me as a result of my beliefs. I've never sworn at a theist, I've never laid a hand upon them. But will I stand silently by while they lie to me, attack my beliefs, and teach children that the big man is the sky is the reason they need to eat their vegetables?- Junk
I usually used unstrung bows, various bits of smithed garbage, and useless, worthless monster drops, like javelins and poisoned junk which for some reasons is still valued at a significant rate. \|/ for Bladewing's far more useful definition.- Machines of War
Yea, it does worry me when people like that are representing our countries, and expected to uphold our highest moral standards in life or death situations.- Runescape 'Instant-Demo'
And in a demo you can only do a certain amount of things before you can't go any further. How many times must it be repeated to make people understand, F2p isn't a demo!! This would be like...Gnome copters. Except you can actually do things yourself (Very limited amount, I'm sure. I've not actually seen it nor heard of it before now.) Gnome Coptors.. good example.- Creative Genetics

Awesome. Must've made em really angry.- Detrimental Effects of Television
Perhaps unnecessary, but the posts had been stale, for as you said, 9 months, and even a topic of value can slide under the nearly daily avalanche of crap that this forum seems to attract.- Extraterrestrial life
So in short it's your duty to embody everything that people hate about atheists? Yes, if it happens to be that people have a problem with an intense hatred of ignorance.- milk
I have the opportunity to purchase raw milk through cow shares, but since I drink very little (I don't believe it's healthy, which is certainly a rather counter-CW opinion) but when raw milk is treated as an industrial commodity as pasteurized milk is, the chance of disease spreading is far greater than the relative health "benefits" of consuming raw milk entail.- Extraterrestrial life
So what are you saying; that it isn't random? That it's somehow predestined? lol religion This isn't a 'diss-religion' topic. People have the right to believe in whatever the hell they want without being mocked. Sorry, but I don't agree: people have the right to believe in whatever the hell they want without being persecuted. It is my inalienable duty as a militant atheist to mock, insult and decry religions to the affront of all individuals who are willfully blinded by their ignorance, with the exception of children and the mentally ill or truly broken-spirited. Would I ever cause physical harm to or transgress on the rights of an individual, or discriminate against one of The Ignorant? Absolutely not. On topic, I have to say that it's funny that I stumbled across this, since I'm currently working on modifying Drake's Equation to apply it to rather more practical endeavors, with could help to determine it's actual scope of effective utility.- Operation Internet Freedom
It slows us down and is a pain to do. Governments care what we do because they're afraid of us. Exactly. A free internet means rapid dissemination of information, information sheds light on ignorance, and the abolition of ignorance forces people to see the world around them for what it is. The Regime can't risk that; it's subtle, but it's started: look at piracy-enforcement, massive government "shadow-proxies" and corporate spying.- Your motivations for going fit
It's not just about being "built" it's about being healthy and happy, a distinction that a lot of people don't seem to understand. I mean, yes, it is a personal choice, but too many people are focused on the purely physical aspects of it: why we have "muscle" implants and specially tailored clothes.- Diabetes
To outline; I am 15, going on 16. I have a grandmother who is diabetic, cousins and possibly a sibling that are "pre-diabetic" I had issues with frequent urination (no, not the drug-company advertising induced "frequent" I mean at the age of 8 not being able to sleep 10 hours without being up to urinate twice.) As had been previously posted, that is a sign of either diabetes, or a disposition towards it. I know that I might sound like a spammer sometimes, but I have to say that eating Paleo works. It can help you; I eat this way not because Health Canada tells me too (it doesn't; every time I eat a half dozen eggs cooked in butter, along with a slab of meat and a bowl of greens a nutritionist is crying.) nor because someone is selling me a miracle cure or some vague notion of healthfulness based on the most unscientific principles.. No one profits from Paleo, no one is selling anything. So far, the most comprehensive, well written, and scientifically validated approach to Paleolithic eating is Dr. Kurt Harris's PaleoNu (Stands for paleolithic nutrition, link is to how to get started.) To explain how brilliant Dr. Harris is fairly difficult: he went to school for physics, switched to pursue his medical license and now owns a clinic and a contagious enthusiam for helping others and destroying false conventional wisdom that I haven't stumbled across since reading 'Good Calories Bad Calories' by Gary Taubes. A brief explanation of PaNu, taken from Paleonu.com: The PāNu approach to paleolithic nutrition is derived from clinical medicine and basic sciences disciplined by knowledge of evolutionary biology and paleoanthropology. The best evidence from multiple disciplines supports eating an animal-based diet high in fat and low in carbohydrates and cereal grains. Switching to eating Paleo has helped me a lot, both physically and mentally: I am no longer slave to my meals, I can fast for hours upon hours, I no longer have blood sugar issues, my allergies are vastly reduced, I no longer need prescription nasal steroids, my lack of plaque and my former gum inflammation is lauded by my orthodontist. I have spent the last twenty minutes writing this post, and it's really just to convince people to read this one article, or at least this quote: You can prevent, slow, or even reverse diabetes if you alter the way you eat. I can't get my grandmother to alter the way she eats; she insists on treating doctors as infallible gods, and her health is worse off for it. Abandoning your slavery to modern nutritionism (coined by Micheal Pollan) is the real way to combat diabetes, not more drugs more lies and more profit for the Regime.- 'Special Relationship' between the USA and Britain is over
I'm Canadian, so no need to tell me that our politicians need to develop a spine when it comes to dealing with their counterparts. We need the next Trudeau, someone who will put his own country before the desires of foreign corporations and nationalized greed imported from a certain country adjacent to us... Anyway, the U.K. did seem to fall into that trap a lot when Blair was playing follow-the-leader concerning the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan. I think that most of the world ends up rolling over when it comes to the States; they're quite vindictive, very powerful, and often irrationally ignorant, or at least most high-level politicians are.- Ok... Lets see if this works
