  1. Did they just make seercull bow's spec totally useless  ? Edit: Im loving the dungeoneering updates. Exactly what I was thinking about. Does this mean that someone who has no idea how to kill thunderous (and they come in droves on W148) can just do f36 over and over, thereby skipping the Thunderous entirely? Regardless, please excuse me while I go to find and hug Mod Trick.
  2. Turm makes blood go faster, rigour makes SS go faster. so why not decide which form needs to be finished quicker and have the entire team using the correct prayer? I forsee the possibility that making your team entirely one or the other would hurt your team in the long run. It doesn't matter how long you take in one method if the other is twice as long. Experimenting would be required. EDIT: green beat me to it. :wall: Running around. Speaking from experience (as in, I did this), anybody who runs when Nex gets on them makes the kill that much more difficult. Nex has a devastatingly constant damage out-put, so doing as much damage to her as quickly as possible is essential to maximizing the amount of kills/supplies used. So if someone is running, it causes her to chase them and therefore brings her away from everyone else, lowering the DPS significantly. Wouldn't this almost make Chaotic Kiteshield a better option? I've wondered sometimes about the true effectiveness of the Spectral that most teams seem to want (At least on the RSOF, I don't really know of any of the clan's requirements) since Nex's mage is extremely accurate, but the Chaotic Kite has superb melee-defensive bonuses and no negative-ranged attack. I can picture that saving a bit more damage. Then again... I guess there's the prayer bonus.
  3. Your Alexa graph is that of the pagerank. It's comparing the traffic of RS to other sites on the internet. While it's possible that RS' popularity is decreasing, another logical conclusion that can be drawn from this graph is that other sites are simply increasing. (and based on the side-fluctuations, i'd say three months [or a month, if you're comparing after free trade] isn't enough data to get a real feel for the current trend. At this point, it's entirely possible that we're simply at a downward fluctuation, It's entirely natural that the traffic will fluctuate down after a large spike). Regardless, I just think it would probably be more accurate to use the pageviews rather than the rankings.
  4. I still hadn't fully recovered from last bonus xp weekend...Curse Dungeoneering's lack of monetary rewards. I have a bad bad feeling that my d-claws are about to get dumped into the overload fund. To frost dragons!!!!
  5. No monster dares attack someone with a dungeoneering skillcape. :shades: Yep...the j-mods get to control the wyrms because they have nothing better to do. nex update is nice, considering it was their week off.
  6. [hide=massive quote-train] these, and ragequitters in dungeoneering. [/hide] I'd compile all of these and submit my answer as "idiots".
  7. I do not understand why we can stake in Conquest, but we cannot stake in a game of cards. What is the difference there? I'm curious what Jagex's stance would be on counting cards.
  8. We are the Borg. Lower your shields and surrender your ships. We will add your biological and technological distinctiveness to our own. Your culture will adapt to service us. Resistance is futile. But yes, runescape is typically time-consuming rather than hard. The problem is, (taking combat for example) the things that are genuinely "hard" have a bad habit of killing you in one or two hits. Jagex has tried to fix this to some extent with their quest-puzzles (Ele workshop 3 anyone?), and I applaud that. However, the game still lacks some degree of challenge.
  9. I'm still trying to figure out how the graph never dropped below 10k during the update. That indicates a reasonable margin of error. I don't think 30k is reasonable, but I do concede that bots make up a large percentage of the rs community...I fully expected the update to crash-and-burn regardless of what new bot-busting technology Jagex may claim they have. I also wish your graph would've shown a longer timeframe so we could see if the number of players rose to about the same number pre-update.
  10. I now officially love this update.
  11. Most of the weapons get used at some point or another. A few players who're starting their dg career used dagger/rapier, higher players use b-axe/2h/spear...Only one that really messed up was longsword, and that was completely broken with the rings update. As for the armor, yeah...don't know many people who bind the boots. Jagex was beating the threads on forum asking for complete primal setups (I'm looking at you Dragon Kiteshield)
  12. Remember the Fally Massacre on 6/6/6? How much to do you trust Jagex's programming? I don't. It is Jagex after all..... This, and the crazed economy, is why I'll be sticking to dungeoneering until the update blows over.
  13. I must have terrible luck, becuase it took me like half an hour to get the damned gloves. >.< Regardless, since they're xp based, I went to go quietly mage some steels @ the resource dungeon out of boredom (yes, I know I lose some bonus xp to constitution, blah blah, dont really care)...not a soul in sight. Got an elite scroll, got a guthix bow, I declare today a good day. ^_^ Now if only the darn thing would sell. <_<
  14. Torva armor should've been easily obtainable, with a more powerful-harder-to-get version in my opinion. I always thought Jagex should've held onto extremes, until there were several noncombat stats that provided a comparable boost (dg is a good example of this). If there were several noncombat stats that were allowed, it would balance a bit more than just herblore and duneoneering being the biggest ones, or discount the whole concept entirely. Jagex needed to go all-in, or choose to never allow skiller stats to give an advantage in combat. Having one foot half-in and allowing just a few stats to give bonuses just doesn't work.
  15. ... You can easily escape any pker with protect from magic on and black hides. They will only follow as long as they can attack you; Odds are, not very far. Magic is fairly accurate these days, even through armadyl I've noticed. Revs were never even a remote-threat for an experienced high level player. Someone with high level armor, a hard-hitting weapon (either a godsword or chaotic), and came prepared (anti, super set, etc.) could easily outmatch the strongest reverents. Pretty much the only danger was if you hit multiple reverants in multicombat or (as stated) had Chaos Elemental assistance. Revs would never freeze you, d-claw you, and mage you for whatever lifepoints you had left. Pkers: Slightly easier to get away from, much much harder to kill Reverents: Harder to get away from, A lot easier to kill. Guess which option I always chose. :S
  16. Many if it passes we can intercept drop-traders again! Fun times... XD Did anyone get a picture of when we hit 1.337M voters? ;)
  17. Yes, this is why it is on the main page. Jagex has promised to "analyze the data". I have no doubt they could easily make up a program that removed duplicate usernames, check for fake usernames, and compare ip adresses. I imagine with multiple safeguards, you could get a fair estimate of how many players actually voted. Also, Jagex has been very careful to never call it a "poll". A "petition" would be a better word.
  18. I really wouldn't mind that, but only so long as i got my 750k refunded for my angel of death. .-.
  19. Up to 300k votes now, with no sign of slowing down yet. and Serpent, isn't that how the controversial updates always work? :P
  20. not a bad idea adding a poll to this thread. *votes* Anyone wanna place bets on when we hit 1m? :P
  21. Agreed. I suppose you could take the number of active accounts - the amount of people who didnt vote, but I almost want to say Jagex wants this poll to succeed.
