Buying BGS/DFS?
[hide=] As soon as they make it public they are buying out BGS Notice any turn around on the blue line? The blue line is the daily price. This is in wake of nearly every other high ticket item dropping like a ton of steel in water. [/hide] Sorry but a handful of people in a clanchat can't make that type of change. The change was already happening, and they took notice of it. You make it sound like these people bought 160 BGSs then suddenly everyone on Runescape decided to follow them, jump in their bandwagon, and buy BGSs. Most people don't even have the money for one sword. What's most likely: They anticipated the BGS would go up by knowing the market well and this is why it went up, or they invented a lie saying it would go up that everyone on Runescape believed and people bought hundreds upon hundreds of them and that created the price change? The people who would do whatever somebody says unquestionably are not the kind of people who have the money to buy god swords. It takes about 400M to take monopoly of a cheap item. Meaning buying all active items (all those that are being traded everyday). Do you even realize the amount of money it would take to even make a scratch on the BGS market? Billions. There's a nice guide about investing on tif, you ought to read it out, it's just annoying to see you speak nonsense and people actually believing you. Actual investing exists, in resides in anticipating what the market will do, not in tricking people. viewtopic.php?f=180&t=746893&st=0&sk=t&sd=a

Buying BGS/DFS?
lol "organized price cartels" Hundreds of BGS are traded everyday, if not thousands, 80 of them is not going to make any difference in the economy

The Elder Race, The Mahjarrat
I'm kinda annoyed with all of this. Jagex got all those really nice storylines they could pursuit.. like the wise old man, frozen door of gwd, trapdoor of ge, zaros, and mournings ends part 3. And it's taking so long, and instead they release random stuff, that's not necessarily bad, but I reckon they should use the resources to continue what they've started. It's kinda like.. do it, or don't do it, don't make us wait forever.

the $100 laptop
It's kinda funny, because I bought two used dell computers: one with 3 mhz proccessor, the other with 3.4 mhz both with: windows xp proffesionel microsoft suite programs (word, powerpoint, excel, publisher, plus nero, nod32 and all that stuff) disk reader/burner sound card decent graphics card 500 Mo memory etc Basically all the kind of stuff you'd get from a normal computer bought ~3 years ago from Dell. Their not gamer computers but still can play a lot of games. One cost me 40$, the other one cost me 60$, and a buddy sold me his used acer monitor for cheap, plus I already had one. Then I had to fix one of them. Plus 20$ for used keyboards. All and all they cost me about 100$ and 90$ respectively They cant make solar energy or anything like that, but yeah :twss:

Surgery -gulps-
I got a big cyst removed a while ago. I went under the knife *dum dum dum*. I got a big scar on my tummy now. The operation itself is no problem, you're completely knocked out. What I hated was the whole preparation and recovery after that. Peeing into a tube? Fail. Getting naked in front of a random doctor? Fail. Evil condescendant nurses that like to make fun of poor hopeless patients? Fail. Putting a tube into your anus then pumping liquid into it? Uber fail. Drinking the most disgusting fluid known to mankind? Fail. Turning around to let the nurses put medicine in your anus? Fail. Disgusting degrading tests that always have to do with something below the belt? Fail. Never mind dying under the knife. It's surviving to humiliations that you gotta be worried about. And also, not to snap and start strangling the nurses, because you will want to kill them, no joke. Geez, I envy people who break their bones, got gunshot wounds, or all sorts of bloody wounds that hurt and are in tremendous pain. I'd have exchanged my battery of weird liquids and degrading tests for tremendous pain anyday. You know, next time I seriously hurt myself, I'll be thinking about whether I'm going to the hospital or not. Uber pain or humiliation that will leave me scarred forever? Thanks I'll take the uber pain, sounds like fun. Or better, refuse treatment. "Please sir turn over so I can put medicine in your butt" "No thanks, I'll take the infection instead :)" . Yep. What can I say, I'm psychologically scarred forever. The sight of a hospital makes me want to make nurses blow up.

What is your view on wealth?
I cant really relate I don't live in a neighbourhood with much rich people in it. Rich people don't bother me, unless they have something I really want, and that I'm there working my [wagon] off for it, while they get it automatically and don't even appreciate it. :( Fortunately, most rich kids I know don't want the same things I do, so that spares me the bother. If say johnny's dad is rich, well johnny has a rich daddy, that's useful sometimes, but if he wants money for free he's basically at the mercy of his father, dependant on him. That's never good. It's way cooler to make your own money so that your parents have zero say in what you do with it. By the time daddy dies, johnny will be like.. 50? A bit late to hope on living off daddy money. But well it's useful if johnny wants to become a doctor, and engineer, or anything else that takes lots of years of studying. I live in canada though, here university is cheap, and you can get all sorts of good student loans (especially if you're good) so it makes not a big difference if your daddy is rich. Screw johnny :twss: The funny thing is, my daddy is rich. Not awfully rich, but he owns a small company. And he never shared a penny with me... Literally, no joke. *insert emo moment* But I hope someday I go to his doorstep and tell him I really wanna do X thing, and that he gives me like thousands of dollars to make up for all the money he didn't give me. :|

RuneScape, atmospheric?
Well Runescape is not really good at that kind of stuff.. I'd say the underground pass was pretty cool, pits of death and all. The vyrewatch area (Meiyerditch) (pasted :twss: ) was really nice too, but idk, it lacked something. Maybe canifis a bit, but other than that I'm clueless. :(

2nd of September 2008: Distractions and Diversions
I just tried the circus, it was really fun. I got about 1000 on magic, 600 on ranged (I got all confused lol) and 1100 on agility. Clown's armour pretty ugly... I wish we could do it more than 1 time a week :(

Runescape : good for you ? or bad for health ??
Well there are some pretty nasty side-effects in about 5% of people who undergo it. Meaning blurry vision, constant pain, dry eyes, double vision, halo around lights, even blindness. To do the surgery, they cut a flap of the cornea, but by doing so they cut the nerves that produce tears, and many people who get lasik have very dry eyes for the rest of their life. They also found out that corneas don't heal completely after lasik, so you're more susceptible about ten-fold to all sorts of eye diseases, infections and problems. So it's not like just take that operation and that's it, gotta live with the possible consequences. I was considering lasik myself but then I searched and I found out about all this stuff I thought ok, I think I'll stick with glasses lol. It's probably best to wait like 10-20 years for when the technology will be better or they found new ways. (just a side note.. has nothing to do with the topic lol)

Lack of Tree spots? ;S
Out of all the people playing on a server, how many do you think are actually interested into cutting those trees? Not all that much. if not, then there's always the useless trees, those are always empty oak, willow, maple, pine, eucalypsus, mahogany, teak, and lalala :twss:

1 September 2008 - Behind the Scenes - September
Jagex primes their bts with so much eye candy(word-wise) it's difficult to understand what they're talking about now :twss: Is it a minigame? A random event? Only the penguins know. (srsly its a minigame but i had to re-read like 2 times :twss: ) "Buy membership within the next 30 seconds and get not only 1, or 2 or 3, but FOUR free larupia fur sets!!" is what future bts will look like

Runescape : good for you ? or bad for health ??
Lol umm psychologically it's bad because people keep being mean to you (the awful community).. and physically it's bad because you're not moving at all which stacks up a lot after a while, you gain weight, your spine is not well positioned. It doesn't make much difference studies-wise, since most ppl would just be playing the xbox or watching tv if they don't play RS. I think the whole vision thing with computer screens is a myth, you should be fine if you take some breaks to relax your eyes and look at objects that are far. Because looking at close objects is straining for the eyes because they need to keep focussed, looking at stuff that is far relaxes the eyes, so you need to take a break a relax your eyes once a in while, but other than that, computer screens don't kill eyes. Umm, I think they sell "computer glasses" nowadays, they block the light from computer screens so that your eyes don't get as much tired.

Im tired of the bs in this game
There's no reason to keep playing then. There's heaps of nice mmorpgs to play, and other hobbies too. You're kinda proving his point :twss:

The implicit and unexpected value of an update
The solution is to come in with zero expectations. The best things in life are surprises. Overthinking just ruins all the magic,

Need mp3 player
So my ipod nano died, and now I'm looking for another mp3 player. I don't want an ipod this time around (the one I had was actually a gift), the news ones are meh-meh. I'm looking for a mp3 player with about 8gb & good sound, I dont want to watch videos on it, just something simple to put mp3s on and go. FM radio would be nice too. So I've been looking around and it looks like some good brands would be iriver, creative, microsoft, sony.. Well there's so many of them I don't know which ones are good?

Do you have friends that think runescape is stupid???
That would be because Runescape IS stupid. :twss:

Killing one more.
Wishful thinking always leads to .... pie of course ... and disappointment ... and obesity from eating too much pie. Nah, it's stupid, you lose the blk mask effect while you could be gearing up for the next task.

Why is it wrong for males to hit females?
+1 Unless it's a joke of some sort, you don't have the right to hit women. Women rights, hitting someone isn't a right, it's just something stupid. Women on the other hand have the right to slap you, punch you, pour their glass of wine over your head, hit you with their purse, throw stuff at you, and other variations when you're being an [wagon]. It's not like you'll get seriously hurt. If you disagree, then become gay or say hi to the mr the police officer.

2012 Apoclypse: Fact or Fiction?
I think it's lunacy. Some people are unhappy about how things work in the world, so they turn to the end of the world as the hope for everything to change. They need to learn to live in the present, instead of doing nothing and expecting events that might never happen. The end of the world would be horrible, everything that's beautiful would be destroyed, the only reason I can see that people would want that is if they are very unhappy and miserable and see it as the only way to get out of their misery.

Acne *Dun dun dun!*
I used to have very bad acne as kid. Mine started before everyone elses and lasted longer than everyone else. It was really horrible, how awful I looked, and how the other kids were annoying about it. It went away overtime. The first thing I did, I started washing my hair more often and using good shampoo(rusk's), and got my hair cut so that it wouldn't be in my face anymore, all at the advice of my hairdresser. Then I discovered I had a small health problem, that could have affected my hormones, so I got an operation, and got that fixed. Then I started eating healthy food and taking natural vitamin supplements. I stopped taking milk and cheese, because most adults are allergic to it, and started taking calcium supplements instead. It's important to look for natural vitamin supplements(found in natural foods stores), as opposed to the normal cheap ones, because they're poorly made and don't work. Most notably, you have to take coral calcium, a multivitamin, vitamin D, selenium, omega-3, silica, and most importantly zinc. Either you buy capsules, or eat them through normal food. Then you have to stop using chemical products of any kind on your skin, it will just make it worse, just use water and hypoalergenic soap. Avoid all fried-foods. I'm somewhat of a health nut ^^' Nowadays, I got rid of all my acne and I look pretty good, and I managed to not get away with not too many acne scars. (1) Grain Grain is not bad. What's bad is when you eat proccessed grain, like uncle bens and things similar to that. You have to buy the unaltered hard grains (like basmati rice, millet, and all of that) then make it boil in water a couple of minutes. (2) Dairy Yep (3) Sugar (duh) Yep, fat also. (4) Carbonated substances Not necessarily. Carbonated water is alright, but don't drink softdrinks (diet or not, they're all harmful). The sugar in fruit is a completely different type of sugar than processed white sugar. Processesed sugar is assimilated very quickly and makes sugar levels skyrocket, whislt fruit sugar is a complex sugar that takes a longer time to digest and wont make the sugar levels raise. Acne is a sign that either your hormones are all over the place, or that you are doing something wrong to your body and its reacting, or a mix of both.

Respect or Burden?
So, it's just an image on a screen, regardless of the fact that actual humans are behind the characters, actual time spent altering said images, etc...? An image on a screen is an image on a screen. To claim it to be anything more is blowing things out of proportion. That would be different for say, a masterpiece. But even so, masterpieces are made on real canvases, with brushes, from the hand of a fine artist. Sometimes it is a sculpture, made onto rock, bound to never disappear. But most of all it is something that has never been seen and done before that makes something a masterpiece. And I'm afraid Runescape, or any video games' graphics for that matter, are not special in any way, the graphics get better and better with time because technology allows it to be. People make the choice to waste countless hours of their life towards getting these pixels, that's their decision, but that doesn't make the pixels any more valuable, it simply underlines the sillyness of some people. Just like millions of people go to McDonalds, that doesn't make McDonalds a good restaurant, it just means that some people are silly. Because a human has touched something, that doesn't make it valuable, what's valuable is the human being itself. And if a silly computer game, that's supposed to make you happy, makes you miserable because of a pixelized item, then by all means smash the computer screen. You will be sad for a couple of minutes, wasting a perfectly fine monitor, you will be frustrated not to be able to play, but it won't be the end of the world and you will get over it, because it was never something important to begin with.

Have You Ever Refused a Friend Request?
I usually accept because you never know. When you're too picky about who you add, you end up with noone.
