What book are you currently reading?
I know you personally didn't create this "genre," but... seriously? :wall: All hope is lost. XD Uhh, what's wrong with it? I guess nothing is "wrong" with it... I just don't know why they would need to create a new genre for that. I don't see how there's something between YA and Adult... >.> You're either a Young Adult or you're an Adult. :D Besides, don't they already have Teen Fiction for that? :-w And to be semi on-topic, I abandoned reading my other books and am once again rereading Jurassic Park >.>

What book are you currently reading?
I read Push by Sapphire in the car on the trip down for vacation. It's the novel that the movie Precious is based on... the book was also very powerful and moving, and just as graphic as the movie. It was a good book, not sure I could handle reading it a second time though. My only qualm is that it ends somewhat suddenly, and doesn't tie up a lot of the loose ends like the movie does. I'm currently reading Broken Blade by Kelly McCullough. I'm really enjoying it so far, and am glad it's just the first book in the series! Ashley, you should check it out! :3

Shooting Massacre at Dark Knight Rises Premiere
In this instance, that would probably be the case, yes. But I really didn't mean that at all... I think most people who read my post would have gathered as much. :P On your average day, if someone walked into the theatre and they had a concealed weapons permit (they just carry a handgun on them for protection) and say, the corner of their shirt lifted up and revealed the gun... I doubt that person would randomly whip their gun out and shoot me or any of my employees if I asked them to leave. I clearly didn't mean someone should have walked up to someone who was busy massacring people and asked them politely to put their gun away.

No... it shouldn't. You can't make a statement about your own personal feelings and then say everyone else should feel the same way as you because your way is the right way. Your way is your way and not mine. You have every right to be comfortable seeing someone walking around with a gun - I respect that as your opinion and I won't tell you that you are wrong. I would just expect the same in kind. So I respectfully agree to disagree with you on this point. :-P Edit: For what it's worth, I don't judge people too harshly for owning guns. While I don't ever plan on owning one, I have held a few and have even been shooting a few times. A lot of people in my family own guns, and my best friend keeps a loaded gun in his bedroom sitting out in the open. I don't think any less of my family or friend... but I would still be concerned if my friend walked into the movie theatre with his gun. :-P

Well, people generally don't go on a rampage and kill 12 people (and injure 59) with their fists. Y_guy, you might be comfortable with seeing someone carrying a gun, but I'm sure you realise that that same sentiment doesn't apply to everyone. Especially given the surroundings. If I was at some bar or cattle ranch in Texas, I might not be so worried about seeing someone with a gun. But if I were shopping at the mall or was watching a movie at the theatre, it might worry me.

Rules like this are asinine. If you confront someone who has a gun for malicious purposes, he's just going to shoot you and continue with what he was doing. But by preventing people who own guns legally for protection from carrying them in, you're removing a deterrent or protective force from the premises. Exactly the same goes for those "no guns within x distance of a school" rules. Someone who wants to shoot up a school is not going to heed the rule, and anyone who might otherwise have a gun who could stop the shooter is going to obey that rule. Well, you'd have to speak to the Powers That Be at my company about that. :-P I didn't create the policy, I just enforce it. It doesn't matter if you are legally allowed to carry the weapon or not - I have the right to refuse service to ANYONE, for any reason. Besides... I'm sure there are people in movie theatres with concealed weapons quite often, and I'm none the wiser. But if you are careless enough to let your concealed weapon be VISIBLE to the public... I'm going to see it and ask you to leave. It doesn't matter if you carry it for protection or could prevent something from happening... my other customers are going to say, "HOLY SHIT THAT GUY HAS A GUN!"

Sizzling Summer Blow Out!
I didn't mean it bothered me that they used USD..... it bothers me that they put any monetary value on their updates. :P Doesn't matter if it's USD or the euro or anything else. I just don't think they need to try to lure us in with how much stuff is "worth" in real life.

Kiva Loans
Kiva is actually a great program. I found out about it when I was reading Bill Clinton's book, Giving. It's a pretty simple program. You find someone on the website who needs to borrow money in order to help get their small business off the ground, etc. Once you have selected a borrower and an amount to loan them, they can slowly work on paying the loan back but in the meantime, they keep you updated with emails and progress of the work. Once they have paid your loan back, you can either keep it in the system and use it to help another person needing a loan, donate it to the website, or you can simply withdraw the money back into your own account and go on your merry way. Their entire program is designed to help people in need, and not to have their users get their money back or make any sort of profit.

I meant to mention that based on the wording of the statement from AMC, it sounds like a temporary policy only.
