Blyaunte, you've continued to beat around the bush and have yet to provide me with my example and proof. Ok, before we really get rolling on this, I have to ask -- when did it become the official position of this forum to openly promote and condone rule breaking within Runescape? This isn't a reason. You just continue to jump back to the argument about the example of people selling who have to sell rather then people who choose to because of struggles IRL. That debate has passed. The question is how people selling negatively affect the game. So again, an example please. It doesn't matter if I personally condone RWT or not. I've not openly stated either. I'm stating an supporting facts that selling gold doesn't negatively affect the game.

You'd see 200x the bots. Sure the price would increase a few cents, fr a few days, maybe as long as 2 weeks, but not enough to discourage anyone from buying. That's why the major thing that affects gold prices is bot nukes/updates. Edit: Not sure how I missed this, but... You would be very mistaken. While it may not be the reason for everyone, it is still a reason for some. I can guarantee this.

How do people selling their gold at all negatively affect the community? I agreed with the statement above that it is the buyers who do. Everyone can agree that RWT companies are responsible for the largest portion of bots in RuneScape. This is the only reason RWT affects anyone in game. If I were to sell gold to a company, does that encourage them to bot? No, it does quite the opposite. They no longer need bots to collect that few billion. Or, I could not sell to them and they can collect their entire stock from green or blue dragons, from thieving, etc. One way or another, they will collect their stock. If people think it ruins the game that people can buy their way in-game with their IRL wallets, they need to play another game. This is, and was, already possible through Jagex themselves. I'm sure their argument will be much like the main stance against bots. "I worked hard getting my 99 Hunter legitimately and Player_X simply botted it, making my accomplishments lesser." *Cough* SoF. So, I'll ask again, since it's not yet been answered. How, in any way, does selling gold to a company negatively affect the game? Don't beat around the bush. Give me a real example and a real reason. I really shouldn't comment on this, but what does it say about someone's character when clan members have to wait to mine a star until their clan leader has touched it for the bonus XP? These people are choosing to break petty in-game rules (selling) which, you have yet to prove, does not at all affect anyone else to advance themselves in real life. Yeah, that says a lot.

Blyaunte - Jagex, long ago, would never have even considered doing what they do now. That is, effectively selling XP, items, and gold. Say two years down the road when they actually start directly selling gold, will your outlook on RWTers differ? I know you say and think Jagex probably won't, but didn't we say and think the exact same thing two years ago? I would have typed until my fingers bled denying that Jagex would ever sell any sort of in-game item, cosmetic or not, and then on February 28th, they blew everyone away by releasing the Squeal of Fortune. My claims are not an, "I know a person". They are very close. They are not an in-game friend. And tell me, what exactly makes RWT bad? The fact that someone with a wallet can effectively buy their way past you without putting in the same time and effort as you? Well, sorry to say, but if that's your reasoning, you're playing the wrong game. Squeal of Fortune, duel arena, flowers, loyalty points. It's funny that now the biggest question us completionists get is now, "How many spins did you buy for that cape?" People are choosing their real life over that of a game. I don't care if a friend of mine who's been poorer then me for 8 years suddenly has 30B more then me. I don't play to beat them. I don't play to compete with them. The way they choose to play their game does not at all affect me. I play for me. I can tell, and hear, that this isn't exactly the case for you, so I can understand your stereotypical views on the matter.

What a stupid thing to say, way to provide nothing to the coversation while making yourself out to be a sarcastic... knucklehead, at the same time. And yes, most are middle-class teens who just want money, but some do it for legitimate reasons. Pretty strong words coming from someone posting entirely anecdotal nonsense ... What's wrong with what he's saying? Are you saying there's not those who play/sell in order to actually live?

I don't look down on RWTers at all. They're making real life cash for playing a game they love. Some of them may actually have needed it - y'know, people who don't make a lot in real life that could use the extra cash. Why look down on them for breaking one of Jagex's rules when Jagex treats us all as if we're dumb as dirt and go back on their word themselves. "I couldn't take my credit card and effectively buy XP from the Squeal of Fortune." - MMG "Squeal of Fortune isn't gambling because you win something every time." - MMG

So started DGing today and got a hex on x EiDoS x: Then, 2 floors later while selling floors (and giving my brother free leeches like usual): Which sfumare happily paid (surprisingly didn't try to scam us at all... Considering we gave him the hex and trusted him to pay after the FL) 80M (split between me and my duo): Finished off the night by duoing a 15:05 abandoned. Not bad. :). -
5 days late but... How is this lame? Everywhere in life, and in-game, there's people willing to pay in exchange for not having to do work... And those willing to accept that payment. Some people enjoy dungeoneering, others (most) don't. Leeching services give the people who are passionate about dungeoneering a reward for becoming the best at it, and gives those who don't enojy it the optional service of not having to directly train it to achieve their (un)related goals. Think about it like this... I want to train fletching but I hate woodcutting. I (indirectly) pay someone, who's willing to accept such a payment and who may enjoy woodcutting, to cut the logs for me by purchasing them from the grand exchange. I'm a completionist who really enjoys nothing in-game besides dungeoneering and PvM. Now, because I sell floors, I can turn a good profit doing both things I love... And the better you get, the more money you make so I have motivation to get better.

Thank you! I'll be releasing an update to fix the legend on a few people's PCs. This will be rolled out with it!

I don't believe CLS Product even had that much. After he faked his blue partyhat loss video, I don't believe anything he posts. I wouldn't doubt that the bank that he should in his video mostly belonged to his friends.

Well, I one hit a Bandos minion for 1270LP... Didn't have time for a Bandos trip earlier so I went to KBD. Hit him for 1321LP before the 32% turmoil effect... New PvM max in Dharok's?: That's Ben's (Tharensis) voice, not mine. Watch on YouTube (720p) to actually see it. -

Not my max hit... But still funny one hitting Bandos minions: -
I posted a quick script in AHK that did it on XP-Waste a while back. It, however, doesn't monitor the current level... Simply clears it on keypress.

Why are you using a CKS? -.-. At least use an Elysian or Divine for soloing. :P.

The primal 2h was sold for 7M. Took 3 C6, 5:5 smalls which were just randoms (And CJ). I was selling floors to a guy and his brother. Much like my family, the brother paid for all his floors -.- But he asked how much for a prom 2h. I said what ever he thought was reasonable... Not out to rip anyone off. So he bought one on his main, 2 nubs, and his brother's, all 1M. 2 were sold outside of his family. Lol. -

Keep in mind, I sold several shadow silk hoods and even more blood necklaces (10M each). The first day and a half resulted in 3 necklaces alone. Also sold a primal 2h for 7M, a surprising amount of promethium 2hs which were only 1M, etc. :). Also started with a 30M cashpile on x EiDoS x. :P. -

Keep it up, getting there very quickly. Okies: That's 926M earned entirely from October 12th to the 16th. :). No staking involved. Gotta pay back a friend who gave me 150M when they found out what happened. :). -
I got 2 rapiers, 2 crossbows, and 2 streams in w77, on accounts level ~20 dungeoneering, before I joined DGS. IK what it's like.
