  1. Well, a difference is that magic is quite good now. You have level 50 runite and level 55 gravite weapons, but ranged/magic weapons are limited also by ammo, which is the level 50 runite arrow and level 59 fire blast. Fire blast being the strongest ammo in F2P. Other than that, it's about abilities - watch your stuns. Equipment looks fine, you could get an arcane necklace if you want.
  2. It would not be difficult to expand the tradition 'tank' role to have some support features, such as providing a damage bonus to teammates at the cost of their own dps. 50% tank dps lost, and 50% fighter dps gained, is usually a great tradeoff (especially with 2+ fighters). You can also think of the 'voker' role which exists only since KK of course. If a voker can cast 'Freedom Other' at the tank, there's no need to do the whole shield switch thing, allowing vokers to use dw/2h, increasing overall dps.
  3. I do not like the idea of replacing non-combat spells along with combat spells. Switching ammo is fine, but don't ruin skilling/travelling with it. If more spellbooks get released, they'd better fix the whole farming vs. superheating vs. barraging issue. Edit@below: they could at least have made Disrupt Shield work >.>.
  4. With my crew and a 4xTactician combat-focused captain (which I do not have, so I'm using the tip.it calc) I can get 9700m-10000c, with 4xLeader morale-focused (again, don't have) 9850m-9850c, and I don't have a lot of trait crew (yet). Admittedly anything that doesn't require morale has problems with merchants sucking, but 9800+ is definitely possible. 10k double was an overestimate, for that, my apologies. +1% traits will be very close to +100 traits on doubles, but worse. If you go hunting for personal bonusus and traits after port upgrades, you can close that gap a little. I still think +1% is equal to +100, at least for seafaring and morale (you'll want two captains of each of these anyway, can always make separate captains for single and multi-stat voyages). Would be nice if these traits were a bit stronger though, +1.5% or so.

It costs 200k gp per hour to rent an instanced GWD room.
  6. There's no trusting any of the gods right now, but Zaros has awesomesauce goodies :D. Zaros realizes that it takes more than a few cosmetic white armour pieces to buy adventurers such as ourselves, so we get curses and barrage. That, I call a reasonable price.
  7. You can get 10k double stats with merchant (if one is morale for sure, idk about cb/sf, my sf captain isn't good), and +1% traits are a lot better for Convict laquer, Whaler plate and standard chi, equal for other adventurer voyages, only worse for standard plate and laquer.
  8. You can make slayer quite profitable, but that is mostly from tasks like aviansies, GWD bosses, Dagannoth Kings, KK, ganodermic creatures and such. Nothing you can do very well at levels below 70, 80+ all preferred, 90+ attack for KK.
  9. ^In that case, get one off-hand and use that. No need to switch off-hands. Claw would be best.
  10. Summoning is waiting on a rework which we may or may not see before the year is out (my money is on won't, but I'm trying for a pleasant surprise). Prayer is very very good. About royal crossbow, I think crossbow parts are way below 500k now, more like 200k-250k.
  11. Yes, t80 slash > t75 crush/stab in all cases. After cclaw, focus on drygores. You should get enhanced Excalibur as off-hand and forget about chaotic off-hands. Chaotic staff would be good after claw, after that, there's not a whole lot worth getting.
  12. There's Restless Ghost (1125 xp) and One Piercing Note (250 xp) which require nothing. Recruitment Drive requires killing a level 20 monster with no equipment. 1000 xp. Priest in Peril requires killing a level 30 enemy. 1406 prayer xp. Making History requires Restless Ghost and Priest in Peril. 1000 xp. Rag and Bone Man requires killing a giant bat at the most. 500 xp. Fur 'n Seek requires 25 slayer and killing a cave crawler or something. 1500 xp. Holy Grail requires 20 attack and killing the black knight titan (who cannot move, so you can kite). 10000 xp. Total of 16781 xp. That is level 32 and a bit.
  13. That's a crazy puzzle, but also great lore :D. Thanks Bruno :). It may be that the third is Change and as such representative of Life.

Off-hand doesn't matter for accuracy at all. Switching main hand is optional, I don't know whether range/mage weak monsters have melee preferences but I don't think they do. For melee weak monsters, you can use rapier for stab I guess. There is no 1h t80 crush.
  15. Quyneax replied to Mylez's topic in Help and Advice
Nope, nope, anything but royal, zaryte, dual ccbow sucks. The next best is either black salamander, Karil's or dual Armadyl/pistol crossbows, but those are t70, not t80. For slayer, you can just use melee, probably more worth it if you don't value ranged xp.
  16. Men drop a lot of herbs, you can kill those pretty quickly (get some useful xp out of it as well) and tasks are worth 1-2k gp each, there's a lot of random ones you can do early on. Pre-EoC men were 200k/h or so (don't think that changed much), which means it's faster to train at men and buy bones than to do the Nexus (going by the 3h figure for completing the Nexus). I would generally assume that new players would go for the 350k figure rather than the 700k figure, which only requires about 150k/h to be faster than the Nexus. @Randox: house parties are social and efficient ;). Edit@below: Well that's easy :D.
  17. All forms of merchanting still exist, iirc the MTK split is coal/herbs but I'm not 100% on that. Nests have crashed because brews are no longer good. I would recommend staying away from attack styles that you do not have at least t80 in. You should get a royal crossbow (not even 1m, very powerful) and use that everywhere. If you really want to mage and can't get virtus/chaotic, use abs, if you really want to melee and can't get drygore/chaotic, use vine whip and ee.

Claw has the crit bonus, it's also cheaper to buy and starts at 100% charge. So yes, it is better, but you can use rapier very well of course.

Maul works fine :). EE is good because it is a level 89 weapon by damage, much higher than your chaotic off-hands. But off-hands are only a third of your overall damage, so maul is not that much worse.
  20. 1) The World Wakes and all sub-quests are good to do. That's most of the quest in the game, too. 2) Tears of Guthix got buffed, those are good if your lowest stat is a slow skills. Warbands are very good xp, you can level very quickly with that (mining, smithing, farming, herblore, construction). Troll Invasion is a nice monthly, as is God Statues. The Circus is good as well. 3) Yes herbs, not sure which but torstols are probably good with greenfingers aura + juju potion. The ideal farm run is ectophial > trollheim tele (Lunar spell) > explorer's ring cabbage tele > ardy cape farming tele > catherby tele (lunar) but that requires Livid nearly done. If you don't have trollheim tele, use a chipped house tab instead and do trollheim before ecto. 4) No. It's basically horrible. Get yourself a nice chaotic weapon (chaotic main hand claw, 100k tokens) and enhanced Excalibur. Then get a royal crossbow as well. You can get some cheap all-round gloves (barrows) and amulet (fury, or glory if you need free cash). For top/legs/helm, use barrows.
  21. This intrigues me. When was the last time you trained combat? There are a few phases: 1) Pre-EoC: Fast weapon, defender, max strength bonus. 2) Early EoC, pre-dw update: Highest level two-handed weapon. 3) Current EoC, post-dw update: Highest level dual wield weapon, ee off-hand. So yeah, use the current best, which is main hand chaotic claw (requires dragon claw and 100k tokens) with enhanced Excalibur as off-hand weapon. Void armour is fine. As always, super potions, boosting prayers etc. are very good. I don't know about fire giants for good xp, currently AoE attacks have advantages, so you'll want to fight stuff that's agressive and tightly packed. Familiars are sadly not very useful at the moment.

You can use a brown stew to temporarily boost your herblore level to 85 to make some superantifires. It'll make life a little easier, but it's not required. Anyway, for QBD, you can use any attack style, but it is advised to use the strongest you have, which in your case probably isn't ranged (unless you have zaryte or dw ccbow). Magic is good if you have cstaff or vwand + book, melee is good if you have any chaotic with ee offhand (main-hand claw is best).
  23. Edited my post but I'll just add it here, seeing as it is a reply (albeit one predating your post): Some people might say that new players wouldn't find w31 house parties, so this update would help them, but in my opinion it is a bad thing to lead new players into inefficient and afk-based methods instead of leading them to community-based efficient methods which involve playing the game.
  24. Omg tooth halves rarer than loop halves! Cool to see you hit 1m essence, grats, most epic loot tab ever :D.
