Most XP out of Aura
Ape Atoll is higher xp/h than any other course available at your level, including failures. I don't think any other course has such a high failure rate that the aura can make it better xp/h. You can't fail Ape Atoll at level 75, so the aura is pretty useless - pies work just as well.

So my 5 laquer and 10 plate voyages succeeded. The plate voyage was 54% with a merchant on board. Lucky day. Got a 22500 morale for 10 chi lined up now. Other than that pretty much everything failed so I'm still at 14 whole steel. Rolled another Pincers crew, got two rolled four recruited now or something, no tigers (got chimera though -.-). 4k chimes each and idk how many thousands for ship parts is starting to hurt, but if steel keeps failing there's no problem, and no 10k captains in sight. Did buy dragonskin rigging, just cause, +300 seafaring for 3k steel wooot (right before the steel market crashed fml, rather have crew). It looks jade-like, goes pretty alright with the morale bow and seafaring hull. In landlubberscape, bought a void ranged helmet, 900 commendations into hybrid boots now, about 1300 more (:wall: :wall: :wall:).

14th Jan - Kalphite King
Please can we just say that the KK was soloable, using a definition of soloable that would make it a true statement, and that we have yet to see if it still is soloable according to that definition? Anyway, onto a different matter: what's the top equipment/kpph/hourly profit and expected price development for drygores?

28-Jan-2013 Demon Flash Mobs
I tested slice, piercing shot and wrack critical hits with maul, royal crossbow + royal bolts and wind surge with abs. Criticals were consistently 10% higher with void.

11-Dec-2012 - Player-Owned Ports
I don't see how a defensive set effect is going to make PoP armour more usable. Right now, it's equal to (not better than) Nex armour at Nex and the KK, so usable there if you tank, but nowhere else. If you add a defensive set effect, it's usable... still only tanking Nex and KK, because you don't need defence anywhere else. Ports armour costs about 50 gp per second to use, rounded up to the nearest 6s increment (using Surge, Escape, Freedom out of combat - 300 gp please). It's just a giant waste of money.

Slayer Gear (Or a guide?)
That was before the accuracy changes. Now, chaotic maul has 3043 accuracy versus the godswords' 2384 accuracy.

Slayer Gear (Or a guide?)
Best weapons are chaotic maul, royal crossbow, Armadyl battlestaff. Let's assume ~400m for a set of drygores or >100m for a virtus wand/zaryte bow isn't an option (drygores are barely/not worth it anyway). Two-handed weapons do the most damage in general except for magic, but good wands are expensive - even tier 70 wands are 30m? iirc. You really want to stick to the designated weakness of most monsters, so melee the melee-weak, range the range-weak, mage the mage-weak. For melee and ranged, there are no equivalent-tier affordable weapons for slash, stab, arrow and thrown, so you always just use crush and bolt. Make sure your main armour pieces, that's plate, legs and shield, are always of the class you are using to attack, to avoid accuracy penalties.

Exiled Kalphites - charms Galore!
200 kills per hour for 50 blues and 50 crims approximately? That's not bad all, considering you're using momentum, it could be a bit higher still. You should note that void is better for the extra damage output, provided you have a way of healing (soul split, vampirism aura etc.). How tight are spawn rates? Do you often have only 1-2 alive?

11-Dec-2012 - Player-Owned Ports
At 10 mins a day, you're not going to go through ports very fast :P. It's almost two months since release and practically nobody has a full set of armour yet, certainly not all three sets. And these are the people who did as many missions as possible, not the 10 mins/day regime. 60 days @ 30 mins/day = 30 hours. It depends a bit how much you have to wait between voyages and whether you can do useful stuff in between. Either way, 30 hours to get armour which you can never sell - that is the equivalent of say 100m? If you lose it, you're screwed, a full set takes 200/5 = 40 voyages, at 2-3 per day. And your two weeks is another 7 hours to gather it. Plus the repair cost.

11-Dec-2012 - Player-Owned Ports
I just want my ports armour, which takes quite a bit of dedication to obtain, to be worth using *somewhere* and if possible at *lots of places*. Ports armour *is* pretty expensive to use, and it can't be sold back after you're done with it - time spent getting full superior can't be recovered.

260-261-78-64214962 "Given that PoP armour got a hefty armour increase we felt it didn't need a set effect to remain better than Nex - we will continue to monitor this, however." === (quoting Mod Edam, qfc 15-16-19-64214683) First of all, you increased hit bonus along with armour. The armour increase isn't 'hefty' at all, it's only exactly what is required to stay on par with tier 85. Secondly, additional armour is often useless. You see many top-tier PvM setups with void, which is some of the lowest defence equipment in the game. Damage is just worth a lot more than defence. Killing things faster means you take less damage per kill, and doing more damage means soul split/vampirism heal more. Slayer is a particularly obvious case of PvM which requires absolutely no defence - tier 70 GWD chest pieces are still the best here, Nex leg armour may or may not be worth it due to the degrade cost, PoP armour simply adds nothing and is definitely not worth it. Apparently the idea is that top-tier armour is only useful at top-tier bosses. Personally I prefer a system where top-tier armour is also good for everything else. It doesn't have to be (much) better, but it should at least not be clearly worse. Considering the cost of PoP armour, it would have to offer a bit higher kill speed than other armour to be worth using. Even if it's just to improve the feel of the armour, right now it feels like wasting money, not like top equipment. I suggest a damage boost of at least +20 for top, +20 for legs and +10 for helmet, with a set effect of +30. That puts the total at +80 damage plus the 14 you can get from Nex boots and gloves. Nex equipment is 15/15/7 + 23 for a total of 60 damage, plus 14 for boots and gloves. A jump of 20 extra damage is minimal, but it'll make PoP armour feel a little less useless. tl;dr <3 Ports armour, so cool, so useless.

11-Dec-2012 - Player-Owned Ports
They're so bleeping stupid. It didn't get an armour upgrade, the scaling is just different now. Versus tier 85 weapons, Ports armour is just as good as Nex equipment is versus tier 80 weapons. And given that there's no tier 85 weapons to go around (drygore being exclusively melee and dual wield at that), the extra defence is overkill anyway, less valuable than damage. And Ports armour is much more expensive than Nex armour too. Literally the only use for Ports armour would be tanking Nex/KK, but for that the most important thing is resonance at the right time plus 30% damage reduction.

SSH vs Prom Skirt
xpx, magic sucks for dungeoneering now. It's capped at tier 80 damage. Ranged/melee hybrid is best. So basically, 2h, shortbow, body or hood, blood neck, then hood or body for 5th. Personally I prefer a platebody because you can't be one-shot by skills doors that way - hood doesn't have enough lp bonus. Survival-wise they're pretty equal. Platebody gives you higher all-round accuracy than Sagittarian top assuming equal use of ranged and melee. Ranged armour is worse for melee than melee armour for ranged, just like magic armour is better for melee than for ranged.

Action Bar//Hunter//Salamanders
Nope :P. Inventory icon or action bar icon are pretty much exactly equal in terms of dropping. The only difference is the location on the screen.

Ports update: Finished all single adventurer stories. Bought 1 Oxhead, 1 Band, 1 Harem. Finished first Quin triple story. Sent first Hyu-Ji triple story. Sent second Death Lotus top scroll voyage. Yay for rerolls.

Action Bar//Hunter//Salamanders
You can r-click click the action bar instead of the item in your inventory to drop. But yes, you need to drop manually.

Which Forgotten Scrolls to get?
You can finish 3-4 items by the time you hit the resources required to make a 'big' item (top/legs) so pick the armour pieces you like most. Early in the Pincers you get a big resource boost equal to 32 + 65 of each resource (plate/chi/laquer/bones) plus another 32 plate and 130 spices. Those figures are assuming jade merchants on all missions. Because of the forced spread, you can get more items fast if you spread the scrolls you get.

Max Player returning, need gear help
Magic is a bit quirky. All spells scale by the level required to cast them, e.g. fire blast is a level 59 weapon. However, there are no weapons past level 80, or level 90 for dual wield melee, or level 78 for thrown for example. Because of that, spell damage is capped at level 80 spells, e.g. air surge. All surges do the same amount of damage, but not all waves/blasts/bolts/strikes do. In dungeoneering, where weapons do go up to level 99, this cap is also in place. So dungeoneering magic is capped at two tiers below the maximum. It's bad. Also, when an ability says 100% spell damage, it means spell damage without magic level included.
-
Attack and Strength
80-99 strength gives you +19 damage to add to a total of 1000-2000. So yeah. In addition your overload boost would be a little higher and that might be good, but not much else.

Ranged Question
Abilities are affected by weapon speed. Zaryte bow has a very very slight advantage, both in damage and in running cost, but the investment cost (and the chance it drops a few million) can be prohibitive.

Only autoattack damage gets boosted by the staff, but with the lower speed that's not too useful. As a result, magic dps is the same with wand and shield as with staff, except that you lose the shield, which can be used to build adrenaline and heal etc..
