Technique to 99 fishing~
Fly fishing is basically the fastest way to train barbarian fly fishing is marginally better But i'm guessing since you'll be new to P2P you'll want some money in which case Rocktail fishing > Cavefishing > monkfishing for money barbarian fly fishing + shilo fly fishing + Rasolo fly fishing if you want raw experience, or if you intend to earn money elsewhere with the new stepping stone @ shilo, i'd say shilo is probably better than rasolo fly fishing now

Gems from Monsters
*rips hair out* amaya did a pretty good job of explaining it too 50k xp from 42 to 50 smithing smelting steel bars is most efficient for someone with poor income and a low smithing lvl 42 -> 50 smithing would take 2.5 hours and EARN 1 mil gp profit if you smelted iron ores + 2 coal -> steel bar if you bought iron bars and smithed them into iron platebodies it would still only cost you 600k gp (maybe this is lots and lots to you) mining gold is a bad idea, mining iron ores is a good idea, if it's over crowded, find a place where it's not crowded (wilderness spots are nice) Anyways point is: Microeconomics 101 COMBINED METHODS ALMOST ALWAYS FAIL Once upon a time, humans travelled in small nomadic groups. The small group would take do all the cooking, hunting, cleaning, etc by themselves THEN HUMAN CULTURE EVOLVED we developed cities, towns, trade. Individual people dedicated themselves more to doing what they were good at, and stopped trying to take all the responsibility themselves Result: More prosperity for everybody your combined methods are basically ignoring the benefits of being able to trade, this is not how the world works

Arrow/Knife Supply?
I honestly have no idea what you're talking about. first off, why are you getting arrows? I can't imagine you're still using a magic shortbow for anything <_< anyways try darts. Rune darts sell fine, only 200 gp ea for a higher tier thrown weapon. I bought 20k of them a while back Rune darts and knives are essentially the same thing anyways

Waterfiends
You're stats are pretty low to be attempting this, especially considering you don't have bunyips, and your prayer lvl is low enough that you won't be getting many ppoints per prayer potion i recommend zammy spear highly, karils isnt too important but every bit helps considering you're at the lower end of the combat scale here are you just going to use up these crimson charms to train summoning to 70? If so i recommend you don't hunt waterfiends yet I also recommend you don't use any charms to train summoning yet play the penguin hide and seek minigame to lvl up summoning, and save your charms for later

MTK- "The storerooms are full!"
How else would you do it though, other than taking data on your own. Collecting the data would result on losses anyways, and seems like too much effort for marginal gains.
-
Duradel and how to get there
house portal @ brimhaven is slightly faster than ardougne teleport -> boat -> cart otherwise karamja gloves(3) are the best way there
-
MTK- "The storerooms are full!"
and my point is that due to inaccuracies in data in guides, it's not practical for us to know the timing.
-
MTK- "The storerooms are full!"
This is true Paw, the cycle will guarantee that you will receive a one of a set decimal errors each time you withdraw If i wait 100 days or 2 days, for all i know i could have the same decimal error. For arguments sake lets say we have 10 cycle error so withdrawing at day 11 and day 101 produces the same error of 0.5 loss the thing is i will only experience the 0.5 loss once over the course of 101 days if i withdraw every 11 days, i will receive the 0.5 loss every 11 days withdrawing every 101 days results in a loss of 0.00495 per day whereas every 11 days results in a loss of 0.0454545 per day the loss per withdrawal isnt affected by waiting longer, but the loss per day is.

Praetor, amaya was kind of a troll, but he/she did have a correct point. the money you save by training all 4 skills at once is outweighed by the time you will lose. I don't have time to calculate the numbers for you right now, But can you just trust my word on this one?

MTK- "The storerooms are full!"
I see you're reasoning, but that's not the problem. The problem is that the data on tip.it (and other websites) are wrong, with a degree of error. Tip.it's manage thy kingdom guide data was taken after 1 day of manage thy kingdom. This results in roundoff error, the values are slightly higher than what they should be. For example: the guide says maples are 56.1. So if according to the tip.it guide, 14 days of kingdom kept at 100% with 10 workers on maples should yield 12477 maples In reality, you get exactly 12500 maples, indicating that maples are actually 56.0 And the 0.1 was roundoff error caused from taking the data. coal is actually somewhere between 91.4-91.6 Herbs is actually 819.67 - 826.4 anyways the point is that all of these are VERY ugly numbers. We don't know for sure if coal is 91.4 or 91.5 or 91.6 or even 91.431524. the data on tip.it's guide is simply unreliable and lets go ahead and assume that we KNOW coal is 91.5 gp per coal. Putting 10 workers on coal, it would take 183 days at 100% every single day in order for the round off error to fall to 0 That's just not practical
-
MTK- "The storerooms are full!"
it depends, certain resources like maples and flax are easy to account for round off error, because the amount of gp spent per resource is a nice number (56.0 and 40.0 respectively) this isn't necessarily the case for other resources (raw fish and herbs) In which case, more money is an effective, albeit brute force way to reduce round off error.

Rofl, worst solution ever! Just a rule of thumb, "combined" skill approaches are almost always inefficient. In your case, this rule of thumb happens to be true.

Gilded Altar Training Method
nothing wrong with your method. I just prefer having my own altar because I have more control over when the candles are lit I'd imagine traveling to your own house is slightly faster as well, but nothing noticeable other than that bring a beast of burden to carry bones for you? you can empty the BoB w/o interrupting your altaring too which is nice

More worlds?
+1 I think the solution to overcrowding is to add new monsters to fight Kuradal's dungeon helped alot. And jagex already told us that they're adding a bunch of high level bosses and dungeons later this year. I say just hold your horses, it sounds like overcrowding will fade away gradually over the course of this year
-
MTK- "The storerooms are full!"
I keep kingdom running as long as I can (barring impatience) to reduce roundoff error ANYWAYS I did some research for you max storerooms is ~ 231 days, or 17.5 million gp and no money is not taken from the coffers once the storerooms are full

Post and discuss all Jagex Twitter updates here!
This is obviously a hint to FT 3. jagex said that we were getting a summoning update this month. This looks like it's it. I don't think it's FT3
-
MTK- "The storerooms are full!"
we've seen this before, but nobody has really taken data on what happens so no i don't think any but maybe a handful of players know what the limit is and if the workers will keep taking money, and these players havent spoken up about this matter.

Skills and the Economic Environment
a few people I know and myself train skills/merchant based on "environmental" factors such as: time of year prices recent updates anticipated updates for example, a friend of mine buys adamant bars every winter, but doesn't smith them until the summer when addy arrow prices *typically* go up. So usually I only see this kinda of behavior amongst higher level players though. Lower level players are seem to be pretty busy with catch up work to be bothered with these kinds of things. So: Do you train based on environmental factors? Have you ever made training decisions based on environmental factors before? Do you have any big exploits? What skills do you consider to be good to train right now? ---------------------------- My personal thoughts: Good skills to train: Construction So construction tops my list right now for environmentally good to train. No high lvl construction update is anticipated, just a small one according to the new content team Q/A. That's not the point though, inflation is pretty high right now, gp is valued at an all time low, and construction basically consumes gp. High level content seems inevitable with the recent updates, although I wouldn't expect a high lvl construction update for a year. Regardless, It's always to get an early jump on skills before they get high level updated *points to herblore and prayer" Slayer/Combat So, clearly the new wyrms are a huge incentive. Which are nice and all, but I'm looking at the long run. New content Q/A promises "multiple" high level dungeons this year. I'm sure most of us will want to be high level when those updates come out. We're getting 80+ gear too, so old gear might become outdated. I've given up a few of my higher end items in anticipation. I tossed out sensitive items in particular. Dragonfire shields should still stay in demand, unless jagex somehow releases an even better shield for slaying dragons/wyverns. Bandos Chestplate i sold. Maybe it's price will stay high just because of its looks, but I'm afraid it will get outclassed by new armor with better offense Ranger boots. The price on these boots would be ridiculously sensitive to new gear. If something similarly good or better came out, and isnt a rare drop, i'd expect these boots to plummet I already forgot to sell my master wand, and ended up biting the bullet when the staff of light came out, lesson learned. Smithing seems like a good thing to get up right now, looks like it's the next skill up for high lvl content. Granted it's already shot up a great deal since the PVP update. Gold ores however are at an all time low, but they were never the fastest experience to begin with, so their price drop might not mean anything to you if the xp is too slow to be efficient anyways. Hunter Bare Handed Butterflies and Grenwalls bare handed butterflies are the ivy's of hunter. Amazing xp, Afkeable with sound on. Grenwalls are beautiful as well. 1 mil+ profit per hour for ~70k hunter xp/hour, just bring a fruit bat. Hunter probably isn't getting any sweeter anytime soon Farming-Crafting I'm just afraid that a high lvl farming/crafting update like prayer or herblore could cause prices to skyrocket the new content Q/A made no mention of a high lvl farming update though, so I don't think there's a huge rush on farming But if you're not high level i'd probably recommend getting some xp into this skill before that happens. Granted farming and crafting aren't nearly as ridiculously expensive as prayer and herblore. So, not nearly as huge of a deal as prayer/herblore were. Skills I feel Neutral About: Prayer and Herblore Okay so these two skills are lower on my list of "good things to train" because the high lvl updates hit their pricetags pretty hard. But it looks like prices have roughly stabilized. My concern is that high combat lvl updates such as the high level dungeons, high level gear, and etc will spark new demand for these two skills. Likewise jagex could release new updates to crash the prices on these two skills, but I haven't seen any indication that they would want to do this. So I don't see the prices on these two skills skyrocketing EVEN IF jagex releases a new Nomad quest or some ridiculously high level dungeon, but they MIGHT rise. So I consider these two skills to be somewhere between neutral to good to train Fletching - Cooking - Firemaking So these skills are really cheap with massive supply. They're pretty darn stable, I can't see anything really making these much faster or slower to train. I consider these pretty environmentally neutral for the moment. Agility-Mining-Thieving-Woodcutting So these skills got recent buffs, multi pickpocket, barbarian assault horn, living rock caverns All were nice benefits to the skill, but by no means HUGE deals. Mining is arguably alot easier effort wise, but xp rate @ living rocks isnt great, less than granite rocks actually. So I toss these on my neutral list. Not much to say about them Skills I Wouldn't Want to Train Right Now: Fishing: What's the last update we got for this? living rocks? for someone such as myself the money from living rocks isnt worth justifying the slower xp rate. Barbarian fly fishing was the best update since, and that was years ago It's just been so long since fishing got an update that made me feel interested about this skill. It's at the absolute bottom of my list Runecrafting: okay so we got the multiple runes per essence update, not a terribly huge deal. I've always been a ZMI crafter and i'm only 500k xp from 91 rc anyways, so I won't reap the benefit of that update Otherwise double nat Runecrafting income has stayed steady at 1 mil gp/hour, even though inflation has caused the value of the gp to fall I'd say Runecrafting is at an all time low in terms of profitability

Quick questions about wyverns
Didn't plan on using protection prayers anyway, just piety. Any idea about how many prayer potions I'll need to take to fill up my inventory/tortoise with bones? Again, a rough estimate is fine. oof... if you piety flashed you could get away with a single prayer potion otherwise hmm let me double check so you have +29 prayer, roughly havlign ur prayer drain rate u drain 1 prayer point every 1.8 seconds normally, so 1000 ppoints per hour with turmoil and overloads i get about 120-150 wyvern kills per hour,so lets just assume 120 wyvern kills per hour lets also assume a war tortoise... so... you can get ~40 kills before banking? 350 ppoints before banking minus 75 ppoints rough estimate of ur prayer lvl 275 ppoints... ~10 doses of prayer potion so 3 ppots(4) should be enuf
-
Quick questions about wyverns
proselyte will be sufficient, so will a full load of monkfish if you're pietying i recommend NOT praying protect melee, only 1/3 of their attacks are melee another 1/3 is ranged, and 1/3 for dragonfire the protection prayer really isnt worth it unless you're running low on food

Uses for Paid Labor
okay so with the new trade limits, I can trade up to 240k gp per 15 mins, which is basically 1 mil per hour So I have a few friends in mind who would be more than happy to do random labor for me at 1 mil gp/hour (they have the requied qp's for it too, but are still pretty poor for w/e reason) so i don't NEED to pay them the full 1 mil per hour if the work they do doesn't justify it. but whatever we do it has to be worthwhile to the both of us an obvious answer is to use one of my friends as a "spare runecrafting pouch" once i finish 90-> 91 rc. since the pure ess my friend would help carry for me would bring in an extra 750-1 mil gp/hour anyways so any other ideas of what I could do with "paid" labor?

[Dev Blogs] A History of Non-Violence & A Day in the Life - 12-Feb-10
I play it but im no good at it. :P Havent got FunOrb membership at the moment either so cant check the new campaign out. ooo ooo me! same here, no membs, i'll probably wait for the guthix campaign before i get a month of membs tbh it's a fun game, not very fair though, few maps are balanced Does the game contain any historical info not yet known in RuneScape? For example I'd like to look around the Hallowvale parts of this update, fair chance something good pops up. Some of the text information might reveal future or past events. some, only a few i would consider canon though like the part with karil masscring saradomin owls... yeah... but a few parts of the campaign are worth noting, but some are just total trolls... like the part about karil massacring saradomin owls... it seems the werewolves were nomads(or something like that) before they were subjugated by zamorak and the saradominists slaughtered a group of druids somewhere near varrock sometime during the GW's

Gems from Monsters
Wait, so you're saying buying the gold bars and the uncuts sapphires, making amulets (strung I assume) will earn a profit? Blimey, that's a nuggest of info I didn't know about. Thanks. Also evil_eye, I've apologised, I'm sorry. I wasn't that "balanced" when I responded, no need to make me feel like more of a [wagon]. gold bars and the CUT sapphires and making amulets (strung and unstrung are the same price) will earn a profit
-
Gems from Monsters
I'd recommend buying cut gems I really recommend you do not cut gems if you're f2p. uncut gems are worth alot more, and it's not worth the crafting xp for the money. Just buy cut gems + gold bars and make jewelry with it As for combat, do whatever is good xp and drops, not necessarily something that drops alot of gems Currently sapphire amulets earn 500k gp/hour + 90k crafting xp per hour if you buy the bars and cut sapphires I recommend you do that, but keep an eye on the economy to see which pieces of jewelry are the best. my point is you'll get more combat xp + money + crafting xp in the long run if you just buy the gems + gold bars, instead of fighting monsters for the specific purpose of getting gems to train crafting with
