Geyser or Iron titan for slayer tasks?
Geyser titans are weaker but give ranged xp which i value alot Iron titans are both stronger AND have the Iron within ability which I'd imagine would heavily boost overall slayer xp/hr BUT it gives defense xp which I do not value as much as ranged xp The +10% defence is kinda trivial at my level too btw, few tasks really hit through to me

i believe this roughly translates to long live the dead is this a new note?

Herblore
thanks, but aren't training on extreme pots a silly idea since they're untradeable and therefore i would be stuck with 1000s of them? i don't know much about them so correct me if i'm wrong :ohnoes: Well ~1000 overload potions is roughly a good number that will last you pretty much until max slayer, and maybe a few boss runs on the side. another thing is that they're amazing xp/hour, and even if u dont sell them they are pretty cheap regardless (25 gp/xp as mentioned) so the fact that they are untradeable is somewhat irrelevant

Soul Wars cape vs Fire Cape
I'd say go with fire cape even if you're turmoil/praying for the +4 strength if you have the money last time i did a calculation, i think the break off point was 750k gp/hour? if you make well over 1 mil gp/hour, definitely keep the fire cape ardy cape is probably better for metal dragons as mentioned I only use my soul wars cape mostly because i don't own a fire cape for melee purposes

MTK Profit while quitting RS for a few months
You can always change the settings when you get back, and you'll get those respective resources when you return\ Even if you set it to 10 herb 5 raw fish right now, and you change it to 10 maple 5 coal when you get back, you'll get resources as if you had it set to 10 maple 5 coal the entire time I've also heard someone say that that kingdom stops working when you go to f2p In my experience, it still continues to function. however this may have been a recent update I was unaware of

Efficient Smithing
Platebodies are always the fastest/most efficient since you use up the bars very fast, so basically it's just mith platesbodies till 88 and addy platebodies. I find platebody smithing extremely inefficient. It's just ridiculously costly right now, even with SC hammers (okay it's not quite as bad as prayer/herblore) the thing is that SC hammers smith a platebody over 2x slower than a normal hammer The time to collect SC hammers adds onto that even more, and the xp rate just plummets to oblivion Honestly gold ores are pretty awesome right now in terms of price. They should not be underestimated Right now im superheating gold ores as i mine them from living rock caverns This suits me because i want the mining and magic xp too Sometimes i drop the bars, sometimes i dont, depends on which gold ore rock i am mining. It's 1 nature rune for 65 mining, 56.2 smithing, and 50 magic xp If i ignore the other xp, and assume that i drop all my gold bars, that's 4.4 gp/xp 50k mining xp/hour, 43k smithing, 38k magic xp/hour Smithing addy platebodies with SC hammers in contrast is 150k xp/hour if you can get 5 SC tools per hour with a clan chat, and costs 8.45 gp/smithing xp, almost double the cost, and without the other xp. honestly i think the other xp isnt to be trifled with. magic xp isnt very important but 50k mining xp is ALOT

Untradable armour
I can see how untradeable BCP's could be awesome. But I think jagex is against untradeable gear with drop rates, and honestly I agree with them. I know some people who had to kill 1000 Tormented demons for a single dragon claw drop. Something like that could give me nightmares. That and it only took me 1 kill to get a KBD head. WAY to inconsistent We need more fire capes/soul wars capes + Jad/Nomad bosses

19-Jan-2010 - Barbarian Assault Improvements
research is happening as we speak. im assuming that: the normal horn takes 5 games to fill and master takes 10, since 2 games with master says just under quarter, adn 1 with normal says just under quarter Well of course research is happening as we speak, as it is with every new update. It's more of, I know some people have already tested it out quite a bit, and just stating a few things. So it's just a matter of time and patience to find out some results. Runescape Wikia said that at Ape Atoll with the horn, you can gain 350k experience. However... That's Runescape Wikia, and they fail with updates. And yeah, the reason for people buying out whips is complete nonsense. People trying to make some money off of them bought them out, and then after that, nobody will want to buy any. Basically, the demand goes up for people trying to make money, but nobody has demand for the color, so it's the merchants that are making the price go up. After they're done buying out, they begin to realize that nobody wants to buy them besides other merchants, and they begin to crash. I give it a day or two at most. I wouldn't get involved, unless, as you said Aneron, just selling your whip and waiting for it to crash to make a bit of money off of just one whip. 15-16-704-60243093 according to this guy he got 96k TOTAL experience from 1 full round of barbarian assault (waves 1-10) He thinks that the horn stores 900k xp total I'm inclined to believe 1 mil as it's a nice number That or maybe the number is exactly 1048575 (binary ftw) either way if this guy's data is accurate it's roughly 100k xp for 10 waves, perhaps depending on class This is useful if u don't have access to high lvl agility courses (IE ur below 40 agility) also useful if u can get into an experienced barb team that demolishes all 10 waves in under 40 minutes ASSUMING this data is correct of course

19-Jan-2010 - Agility Benefits for Fishing, Hunter and Thieving
not that impressive, but visible. with 90 thieving and 84 agility, only ~10% of my pickpockets yield the quadruple pickpocket benefit so in the end that's like a 30% bonus to loot? I honestly think pickpocketing farmers wasnt THAT great to begin with

19-Jan-2010 - Agility Benefits for Fishing, Hunter and Thieving
100k and 20k agility xp/hour doing snowy knights they aren't so bad to catch, since your character automatically tries again if he fails Clicking the butterflies can be a pain but you learn to click below the butterfly, the hitbox extends far below the butterfly apparently I think i like them, they aren't work intensive. Click once, chill for like 15 seconds, click again whenever. Just lay back and watch your avatar make himself look like an easily distracted fool.

Will 2010 continue to be a year of tweaks with little new content?
first off about the quest cape being a combat cape now this was to be expected. There have only been 2 GM quests released, the "identity" of the quest cape is inherently unstable due to the lack of GM quests if u want the quest cape to ALWAYS be a stable balance of combat and skills, then EVERY grandmaster quest would need to be a stable balance of combat and skills and in my opinion, that would be stupid and boring. Hopefully not too many of future GM quests will be combat based, but so far we only have 2 GM quests way too early to be complaining about a combat oriented quest cape. If jagex releases 10 more GM quests and 7 of them are like nomad, then we might have a problem. Secondly, tweaks are good. I love tweaks, They give more ways to train, those are lasting updates. Content updates like quests last players a few hours, and then they're done. End of story. Jagex investing in tweaks is analogous to players investing in skills. Sure each individual level (or update) may have very small impact, but they're lasting impacts and that makes them worthwhile.

19-Jan-2010 - Barbarian Assault Improvements
So it is clear that penance sucks for combat lol But it's not that bad for non combat Berserker Prayer works on non-combat stats as well, perfect for people (like myself) who eat admiral and summer pies while training It's also really useful for other slow draining prayers like rapid restore/heal/protect item Rapid heal is really nice while training thieving, pyramid plunder for example Dont forget holy book for curing poison, also very nice for pyramid plunder now the MOST ABUSEABLE prayer for penance armor is clearly redemption Endless 25% hitpoint heals? im sorry but that's just amazing for camping a pickpocket location without ever ever ever needing to bank lol

19-Jan-2010 - Barbarian Assault Improvements
jagex is considering putting the +4 strength back, so quit ur trolling ANYWHOO can someone check whether or not a master penance horn = more experience gain while @ barb assault? i have no reason to believe that the penance horn is for anything but show, but u know, i'm curious Because if it's just for show, i'm getting lvl 5 healer and not bothering with anything else, teams always need healers more than other classes usually (at least they did back in the olde days :P)

Nomad
your stats are just all around too low. It's hard to put a definite minimum requirement on this. It really depends far too much on luck if you don't have soul split or overloads stacked on your side war tortoise + overloads + 90+ combat stats is very much doable I can see soul split being a game winner in itself. Otherwise i'd recommend you at least get yourself a war tortoise and 90+ stats if the expensive methods don't suit you a BGS for the initial hit will be of great help. Statius hammer works too. SGS is an okay option for surviving later on if that's your preference. Bring a ranged weapon for the freeze -> max hit-1 part. Bring a phoenix necklace or 2 for when you are frozen. That way you can afford to not heal right away and take the opportunity to smash nomad's face in If you think you can get yourself a unicorn. Summon potions restore special attack points, which can be used with a unicorn to heal yourself. This results in 75% less healing per inventory slot in comparison to saradomin brews, BUT it doesnt drain your stats. This is perhaps a good option if you don't have overloads in your favor.

Smelting ores. Ore/h?
once you're at the furnace and you have clicked make-x, it takes 2.4 seconds per ore 1500 is the absolute maximum, assuming 0 banking/walking time I'm sure you can figure out the rest from there

11-Jan-2010 - Nomads Requiem
[spoiler=hide] Where did they say that? :o it was in one of the fan site interviews (not tip.it's) I've been tried digging them up a month ago but didnt have much luck they had alot of future update info in there We need more epic Tip.it ninjaspies. well i found the Zybez interview http://forums.zybez.net/topic/1298153-runescape-contents-answers/ it isnt the one that mentions the grandmaster questline though T_T It does have a quote from Mod Mark saying that people who are used to buying their higher level equipment are probably going to get frustrated by future high lvl content updates though, hehe EDIT: I FOUND OUT the rune village interview with mod mark http://www.runevillage.com/ThePub/viewtopic.php?f=54&t=428901

11-Jan-2010 - Nomads Requiem
something that I think is worth mentioning: Jagex said that they were working on a "Grandmaster Quest line" where every quest from start to finish would be grandmaster level In addition each grandmaster quest would not be as fleshed out as WGS It definitely looks like Nomad's requiem is going to have sequels, but it might not necessarily be the grandmaster quest line that jagex spoke of. Either way this might be the reason for the lack of "grandmaster plot" Perhaps it's just meant as an introduction

dont forget the underwater area next to the saradomin GWD, sounds like the fishing update might be quest related tbh

Evil stew
I heard berserker prayer works for non-combat stats too, it could be useful for evil stews to give you a little more breathing room

POLL: How do you earn most of your RuneScape GP?
made my first ~50 mil by runecrafting natures back before pure ess Made another ~200 mil in tree seeds. I convinced ~20-30 friends/clan members to give me all their tree seeds from Kingdom management to me for free for the course of half a year spent ~ 100 mil of those seeds to get 99 farming made ~100 mil from kingdom management myself ever since. Made ~100 mil making ranging mixes(2). they were junk but they sold for max when the PVP update came and merch clans bought out all the ranging potions in the economy Pocketed 99 herblore while I was at it. Made ~ 20 mil so far buying battlestaffs from zaffs, Made ~ 20 mil merchanting spirit shards before the shop update made ~50 mil buying obby gear, selling for tokkul, and buying onyx gems before the shop update made ~ 70 mil slaying tormented demons made ~100 mil by .... made ~ 80 mil buying up 100 dragon hatchets before the special log update, then selling them 2 days later made ~ 50 mil merchanting furies made ~ 100 mil from inflation Lost ~ 25 mil by being scammed for various reasons back before GE Lost ~ 200 mil in various merchanting failures general price crashes over the course of my RS career made ~ 25 mil from slayer made ~ 50 mil from farming herbs spent ~ 300 mil training various skills Made ~ 50 mil hunting grenwalls after the potion update and that roughly puts me to where i am today I'd have one thing that i'd say I earn most of my money from, but things always go in and out of fashion really quickly in the RS economy

GWD kill rates
I've never bothered with GWD because skilling's always fed me enough money for everything else But a few merchant attempts went sour and a few extra mil wouldn't hurt how many of each boss could I kill per hour (including or excluding KC time, either is fine, just mention which) solo? duo? (i'm not interested in going with more than 2 people I've seen drop logs so i have a fair idea of what the drop rates are. I just want to know my kill rate so i could get a decent estimate of whether this is worth it or not 93 Attack/strength/defence 95 Hitpoints 95 Prayer 91 Ranged 93 Magic 99 Herblore 94 Summoning I'll probably have pack yaks by the time i actually go hunting though, and possible 96 magic
