F2P, is it becoming P2P?
Weren't membership prices increased in 2008? If I remember correctly. The price increased after the release of HD. Existing members still pay the old price unless they let their membership lapse for 2 weeks or more at a time. I quit just after con was released, before that I played for a few years, I have been back a few months now and I have always paid the same amount for members. It might be because I live in england though. Hey! We protest! We protest! Unfair treatment of English/people living in England!! :D

Prayer Extension
you are right hands down  +2

Honor Pking ?
Yeah, and you need to FREAKING stay alive to get the drop. There goes your stupid "honour". People train cooking/fishing to eat, not to show off a skill cape. People train prayer to pray, not show off a skill cape. People train defense to stay alive, not to show off a skill cape.

Mining Sucks (round 2)
Whether some noobs drop their coal or not is none of my business. Stop making excuses, and get back to the rant at hand. Which is mining being in a very bad state, in other words, it sucks. Est0rrath has a valid point, actually. More valid than you picking apart everything he says only to claim you don't care about it. :shame: I'm still reasonably confident that coal would sell. It might drop a bit, true, but Smithing requires so much coal for a single bar that selling Mithril and Adamant after this kind of update would likely be more difficult. Seriously. How does one valid point against my/other supporters' arguments count against the numerous arguments that mining is in a very bad state? That's why I'm ignoring it. Its proved, coal does sell. Big deal. There are still a lot of arguments on the other side of this issue, so there.

Crushing and stabbing weps never used.
But warhammers are also grossly underpowered. I don't think the page exists anymore, but one of the old official KB pages listed melee weapons' speed and damage. Warhammer was "slow/strong" (scimitar was "fast/medium" and 2H was "slowest/strongest"), which is the same as battle axe, yet the in-game stats differ greatly: 48 wpn str (rune) compared to 64 on the baxe. (Also: longsword was ranked medium/medium, yet rune long has 1 more weapon strength than warhammer.) I'd like my huge hunk of metal-on-a-stick to do much more damage than it currently does :/ I think it was in the RS Handbook. One of my RL friends has it, so I briefly glanced through. And thanks for the support!

What's your level in (x)?
No, most people aren't just trying to be social. In almost all cases, MOST people are trying to be competitive. I am high leveled and I could say for fact 9/10 times when a person asks me for my level in usually whatever we are doing at the time, they have already looked me up and know that mine is lower. This especially happens in skills like fishing and woodcutting. You always have the moron with 98 woodcutting going around asking everyone for their levels so they can, without being asked, retort "Cool. (Very unenthusiastically) I have 98. :D" I usually am like, "That's nice," implying I don't really care that they are higher than me in one skill. I have friends I compete against for fun sometimes, but if a player realizes they "beat the 138" in one or more levels, they automatically turn the gloat factor on, as if I have some sort of disease because they are better than me in something. In truth, it's just children with low self-esteem, sitting at home trying to make themselves feel better than others, even if that has to be through a virtual online game. I play for fun and because the game relaxes me and takes my mind away from performance stresses, not because I want to be better than a 16 year old kid living with his mother at home. :| Well, I do it for one. Its just braggarts showing off their level. They do it everywhere where there are people.

Trend [bleep] kills everything
When the hell did I say it was only runescape? You said "especially" in RuneScape. Maybe I should rephrase. I meant its widespread and popular everywhere in the world, not only widespread and popular just in RuneScape.

Faruq's Tools for Games 15-Jul-2009
Interesting update IMO. Its something new and original, and its up to players to use their creativity to make use of these odds and ends.

Mining Sucks (round 2)
What [cabbage]. Any proof? And as Mico said, people just don't like to mine much coal. The problem? One ore per rock. Honestly you have to admit that there's something seriously wrong with mining. My arguments might have some flaws, but there are far more evidence pointing to the fact that mining is in a very bad state now.

Mining Sucks (round 2)
Whatever, whatever, you win. The point is still valid. Mining is a ridiculously slow and useless (in supplying ores for smithing) skill. And thanks for telling me coal sells out fast, by the way. That's because there is a lot of demand for it, from members smithing cannonballs and stuff, whereas miners cannot produce enough coal to keep up with the demand (most just drop the coal).

F2P, is it becoming P2P?
I'm not arguing with you but how did you arrive at the total of 7%? It seems like an odd number, like you worked something out. I didn't work it out, someone else did. There's a chart that shows this Blue is f2p, red is p2p, as shown at the bottom. sweet, good find! Wonder what made the revenue generated by f2p go down? [/hide] Wasn' t membership price hightened somewhere around then? Subscriptions should bring in alot more money, thus we get the change. Weren't membership prices increased in 2008? If I remember correctly.

More proof that most pkers are idiots. I never insult someone for safing, i merely run, pray, or safe myself its a RANT, it doesnt mean there has to be some way to fix it. Its a rant about how safing sucks, and it sucks for both parties, its like woodcutting, if you all cut the same tree its faster, but if you cut off an cut a different yew, its ends up being slower for everyone, despite the fact you might "think" its faster. Just the same way as how safers "think" they are such geniuses by safing, regardless of the fact that in general, it won't help. By the way, no one "no food fights" its just eating at full health thats stupid. No one with a bit of IQ eats at full health. That's not safing, its pure stupidity. Rants need to have a solution. Why waste space [cabbage]ting if Jagex can't do anything to fix it? Honestly...

Mining Sucks (round 2)
That's just you. You can't generalise and say that "Oh, very few people wants to buy willow logs because I only managed to sell 1k of them!" You don't know how the GE works. Of course, there are more willow logs for sale than people wanting to buy willow logs, but its the same for coal. You don't instantly sell out coal, do you?

Crushing and stabbing weps never used.
Crushing isn't accurate. The weapons have to be heavy to do damage, so its easier to parry or block (more response time). IMO, the problem mainly lies in the armor. Plate armor only has a slightly lower crush defence than stab/slash. The difference is SO small that crush weapons make not much difference when used on plate.

Mining Sucks (round 2)
Honestly mining is just too stupid right now. I don't want it to become an afk skill either, but currently the speed of mining is just RIDICULOUSLY slow. Don't [cabbage] about coal respawning fast. Willows respawn at about the same speed and have multiple logs, and the average number of logs you get multiplied by the price is probably more than the price of 1 coal ore.

What a dull game
So that "wonderful" game everyone seems to play is just another "kill anything you see" game. Wow (no pun intended), how unoriginal. What? Graphics, teamwork. Big deal. Runescape is much more dynamic, it also requires teamwork, and its not just kill kill and more kill, despite poorer graphics. Graphics mean nothing. Of course, a reasonable standard of graphics is necessary, but once you reach that level further improvements are redundant and a waste of time IMO. Especially if you have a big game to deal with. And I laugh at that person who said WoW was one of the "earliest" MMORPGs. This forum is about Runescape, a game created about 4 years or more earlier. I've never played the stupid game, costs too much, stupid, unoriginal, boring, kill, kill, kill, etc.

Mobilising Airheads
No, you're absolutely right. That's why I chose the rants forums to put it on. I find the rants forums a way to vent on things that ultimately you don't care about 1 hour later but at the time you're steaming. lol. No wonder its kind of (EDIT: Exploding) full of "spam" or "vent" threads... Ask a mod to lock it, maybe? So it'll stop blocking space on the front page.

F2p prayer is unreasonable
By less time consuming I assume you mean faster exp because it's partly automated and there is less room for being slower. A 99 is just a matter of grinding with your spare time rather than an actual achievement imo, the less painful the grinding the better I would think. By repetitive clicking I mean grinding, I think skills should have -x because grinding is not fun for anybody. What's the point in a 99 if it was just a result of lots of hours of pushing through a sore hand? I know skills are repetitive to train up anyway in this game, but -x improves it a notch. If what I just said doesn't make sense it's because I had a big night and can't think too well atm. Exactly. I really can't stand idiots who want people to go through the same pain as them just because they went through it. Even worse than selfishness.

Honor Pking ?
And what are you going to do about that? Flame, insult? Nothing will change. It'll just make the safer eat more to get on your nerves. Honestly, this rant is stupid. You can't do anything to "ban" safing or whatever. Yes, its stupid, and annoying, but what do you want Jagex to do about it? Ban eating food in PvP, and destroy the cooking skill? If you want a no-food battle go to the Duel Arena.

Views on Defence and its true resistance.
Is that a good thing or a bad thing? A bad thing definately. The flipside would be that a level 59(Defence) would have the same capacity(0) to dodge dragon weapons as a level 1. There by meaning the game would be entirely unbalanced. Plus it would make wearing armour pointless...if you can dodge weapons then why wear the armour? The only way I can imagine this working would be a percentage dodge. Level 10: You can now dodge 5% of the time. Level 20: You can now dodge 10% of the time. Level 99: You can now dodge 50% of the time. Then give armours the ability to deflect damage, but reduce your dodge bonus by the number of Kg they are...But then you have to take into account a 99, with a cape, using prayer and pots 100+25%+15%. You would have someone who could run around in mage robes and boots of lightness with a 70% chance to dodge every attack. That is hardly a reasonable version of the game, now is it? Not really. If you manage to hit them, their flimsy armor isn't going to protect them in any way whatsoever. So its a sacrifice. Do you want to wear light armor and risk getting stabbed to death by a highly accurate warrior or wearing heavy armor and getting bashed up by a brutal barbarian? Say 70% chance to dodge, but your damage resistance will be something like 10% at most. A person hitting you 100 times will do a point of damage 27 times, roughly 1 in 4 hits. Which isn't particularly invincible or unreasonable, is it?

How nice is "too nice"?
I usually only help people who actually ask me politely/give me a good impression... Seriously, you're asking me for help and you can't be bothered to type properly or say please? I hate beggars. They are so lazy, and can't help themselves. Seriously if you're so lazy that you can't click a button, spell the freaking place you want to go to (with a spellcheck furthermore) and look for it on the map, I really have nothing to say to you. Jagex has even provided dungeon maps, so there's absolutely no reason for asking you to bring them somewhere. Item beggars are even worse. With conveniences impossible in real life (I'm looking at you, Grand Exchange), and yet you can't be bothered to earn some stupid cash to buy whatever you want, I facepalm.
