Oh, so suddenly all your non-supporters are wagons? Riiiight. And I think that what you guys are saying sort of is on topic. A live demonstration, if you will. Now, to figure out which one's being a hypocrite... When Ratchet posted about the forum god speaking, they were just trying to get some laughs out of it. (Well, I laughed...) Obviously, it ticked you off. Moral of the story: Don't try to make something funny out of anything Quelmotz says unless you want the forum to either become a huge argument and/or a flame war. Also, more on the mentioned-by-the-OP topic: Frankly, I just laugh at them because they restrict themselves from using the resources that they're given, or because they expect me to restrict myself. It's like having a lawnmower right in front of your face, but choosing to mow the lawn with fingernail clippers instead. #-o Oh, so because they ARE [wagon], but because they don't support me or whatever, they suddenly deserve to be removed from their position as [wagon]?  You take it as Ratchet trying to get some laughs out of it. I take it that way too, except his laughs are sneers and s[racist term]s, not humour. He thinks he's so great just because he "won" the pointless argument on that thread, but to further boost his ego, he has to continue following me around to sneer at me.
  2. Since when has a PM been a thread. And if you want to stop the pointless arguing, then why not quit posting??? Why should I quit posting because of some [wagon] who follows people around making pointless posts? Fine, I'll rephrase. You can waste your life away by PMing me about that thread or argue about that thread on THAT thread, not on other threads. You're really idiotic to think I'm trying to create a new forum-based religion, because I'm not. Since when?
  3. I strongly disagree. There are a lot of evidence backing up the "evolve or die" or "adapt or leave" or what have you argument. I'll leave you to read up on evolution if you want. It is not flat and baseless, just repeated hundreds of thousands of times. Things don't get repeated millions of times if they are pointless, unless they are part of a trend, like FML, etc. The point is if you really hate, detest, loathe, despise, (insert a whole chunk of synonyms for "hate" here) Jagex, then why spoil everyone's time and mood by complaining about something that can never be reverted? This doesn't apply to all arguments, but it is highly appropriate for the "Anti-RWT updates ruined RS" threads.
  4. Explain what these limitations are, and assume that all respawn times are similar or proportional to those of Woodcutting trees. The limitations I had were the same as those mentioned by others. Keep Rune with 1 ore per rock, but add more to lower level rocks, so tin/copper have the most. That's fine, but... The sliding scale would still have to be generous enough to Mithril and Adamantite to make them worth it, or we're still in the same spot. It's great that we keep Runite the same, but if we get two or three ore per Adamant spawn (although it's an improvement), it's still not worth it in the long haul. Of course, we could totally nuke the respawn times and again, make them proportional to trees of a respective level. What do you think about that? I thnk if they added more adamantite and mithril rocks to the game, giving each adamantite two ores and each mithril 3 (?), it would be plenty enough to make mining livable. Just add some to places that already have it, and some where there currently aren't any but it makes sense to have some. Possible, but I'm still a fan of the auto-drop feature to make mining easier/more convenient.

sorry to burst anyone's bubble but these guys are going for post count and it's pretty obvious with the way they are spamming the rants forum with one sentence post and +1 posts. Please. Can you read more of my posts before talking crap about them? A significant portion of my posts are not one word statements. Sometimes, one word/one liners are bumps in disguise. I seriously don't give a [bleep] about my post count. Would people respect you more if you have an impressive post count of a few thousand? Only if you make mature and well thought out statements. I don't even remember what's my post count - something around 900 or so? P.S. Looks like ratchet gave up after realising it was pointless to argue about the matter on other threads.
  6. The pros honestly outweigh the cons totally IMO. It makes WBMs lives easier, but it also makes the other 99% of RuneScapers' lives easier too. So 99:1, guess who wins?
  7. They have a limit - too many selfish idiot members Fair point but it is there game if they want to give them capes then they will, if they want to give them a new skill they will, it is really not up to us. We may moan about most updates (if not all of them) but we don't really have that much of a say, just look at the out cry for high level gear. Yeah, but Jagex still has to remember that the customers are the bosses. They might have their own company and be able to make their own decisions, but if the customers are unhappy, say goodbye to your profit, and indirectly the game itself. I have nothing against f2p, I hate p2p whiner noobs a lot too. I'm just mentioning some constraints which might affect Jagex's choice whether to give f2p skillcapes or not.
  8. Full support. Will help me a lot when I'm powermining.
  9. I hate beggars. They don't realise that they can earn more money if they went and did some work instead of begging. They're just plain annoying.
  10. They have a limit - too many selfish idiot members
  11. Thanks! Many of the ideas added were provided by Archimage_a, btw. Do you need some new weapons or whatever? I'm quite interested in this and maybe I'll help you create some weapons with interesting and more original special attacks/attributes.

How the [bleep] does that relate to the matter? You're spamming and talking about off-topic stuff, and I'm telling you to cut the crap. I didn't blame you for making "everyone" (my foot, more like one or two [wagon] who can't post a paragraph with proper spelling, flamers, trolls and some other idiots) "hate" me. I just told you to stop bringing unrelated matters into other threads, and stop following me around to sneer at me or say "Ooh! the forum god speaks!"
  13. So you have a right to annoy me every time I speak? Honestly, just cut your crap and admit that what you wrote was spam. How does saying "the forum god speaks!" or something along the lines help the thread? Not-so-constructive criticism and a waste of time and space. As I said, stop discussing the matter on other threads. Waste your life away by PMing me and pointlessly arguing on THAT thread if you want. I'm not so stupid to waste my time with idiots who think they're the god of some stupid forum-based religion.

Exactly. Many of those PKers are "blinded" by greed.
  15. Not all of them. Only skinning, tailoring and Enchanting. Well, if you train them just yourself, don't forget leatherworking. And talk about a lack of skills. More skills are not always better. Many Runescape skills are trained for the sake of levels- Firemaking, Cooking, Smithing, Herblore, Crafting, Fletching, and, to a certain degree, Construction. And you actually have just as many gathering skills on Runescape than WoW. Runescape has Fishing, Woodcutting, Mining, and Hunter. WoW has Fishing, Mining, Herbalism, and Skinning. You might be able to count thieving in there as well. Also seven skills are totally combat related- Attack, Defense, Strength, Health Points, Prayer, Slayer, and Ranged. That's almost a third of the 24 Runescape skills. So, here's the useful non-combat skills: Farming, Mining, Woodcutting, Hunter, Thieving, Agility, Summoning, Magic, and Runecrafting. So, in truth, only nine out of seventeen non combat skills are actually useful. Considering that in WoW you can have five professions, all useful, Runescape is only a bit better. I disagree. Many of these skills, though useless in generating profit, can be very fun for some people who enjoy them a lot. I personally hate skilling, but ask around, and you'll probably find someone who enjoys wasting his life away doing pointless things like breaking his fingers will trying to smith some steel cannonballs or whatever. And they provide more variety, and a market to make the primary industry skills actually useful. Take away smithing and co., and you'll probably see a large drop in profit of the primary industry skills.

You're missing the point here. Everything can still come back to one point: Greed. Castle wars, stealing creations, soul wars, etc etc are risk-free PvP games, and risk=reward, thus they do not have much rewards or only have souvenir-style rewards that are for showing off/looks. However, PvP is an entirely different matter, because you can get decent rewards from it. On the other hand, people are not willing to risk their items for rewards, so they eat a lot to try and keep themselves alive and not lose items.
  17. Of course, we could totally nuke the respawn times and again, make them proportional to trees of a respective level. What do you think about that? IMHO, it would just cause a drastic drop in ore prices and make mining too similar to woodcutting, which isn't what we want. A smaller change would be better IMO.
  18. I try not to use this argument too much, but honestly I get really angry at some idiots who continuously rant about the anti-RWT updates and reminisce and compare the old RS to the new one. Those are some of the only circumstances when I tell people to just quit RS if they can't bear with the changes. Change is controversial, honestly. This argument might be old, but why is it repeated hundreds of thousands of times? It has a lot of sense in it. If you can't adapt to the changes a game is going through, the best option is to quit. Games almost never rollback to their old state, as change is always pushing it forward. So honestly, I don't find this argument very stupid or anything, though I try to refrain from using it too much. But for those idiots who are still complaining about the anti-rwt updates almost 2 years ago...I really feel like telling them to get off RS if they can't bear with all the new stuff that has been added.
  19. DIY is not more efficient or more fun. It's a overglorified waste of time. And I refuse to play in a game where I have to make absolutely everything I need on a daily basis myself. Kinda had to pick up on both of these. Some people play the game for fun. Whereas runescape really isnt fun and all it is now is a race to be the best. Which is kinda why I semi-quit again... I, for one think that secondary skills should get more money than raw material skills. But for no real reason thats not how it is. Smithing used to be good for money. But then it turned into a drain. Why? Jagex fed the combat players. You can gain anything from combat so who needs skills? Exactly.
  20. Very well written rant. This is clearly up to the standard of the tip.it times, if not better. If you see this, I think you should submit it to the tip.it times staff/whatever. It deserves it, honestly. I'll just say this here. The whole thing isn't entirely Jagex's fault. Its stupid to try and please everyone, but players who rant and spam are probably one of the causes of this long chain of fluffy PvP updates.
  21. But honestly speaking, what's the point of driving people to reach their goals faster? It'll make people think they've so-called "finished" the game quicker, resulting in less money for Jagex. Though the 3-4 years of membership fees in trying to "finish" the game helps.
  22. Well thought out suggestion, except that maybe the weapons need some tweaking, like what the previous posters said. I think I support, but I'm not really a fan of supreme weaponry and armor.
  23. Buy-skilling is the way MMORPGs are meant to be played. MMORPG stands for massively multiplayer online role-playing game, not single player. Still, everything is down to opinion, as I said earlier. Honestly, just do what you want. There's no right or wrong answer. One of the answers saves you time, though. So? Honestly, you play games to waste time away, not to be super-efficient masterminds where every millisecond counts.

So? Arrrgh! The sky is falling! Everytime you speak I wish it would. Stop bringing other stuff into this thread. I've already stopped pointlessly arguing with you there. I could easily go on and argue, but I don't want to waste my time [cabbage]ting and going around in circles. Just cut the crap and stop bearing grudges, following people around to wait for an opportunity to snap at them. You're the type that can't win enough. You have to laugh at people and stand over them for a long time before you're sick of it. You already won. Still not enough? Want to continue to sneer at people? Go ahead, but be prepared for a pm from a mod.
  25. Well, there's your problem. You've never played it and most of your descriptions come from Runescape fanboys. True, individual quests are often weak, but when you put them together they often tell a story and generally lead into one another. Also, they are realistic- it's WARCRAFT, a world in which both sides are constantly testing each other and skirmishing. Of course you're going to be killing stuff. It's not World of Lovecraft, although that would be pretty freakin' sweet... Summoning Cthulu... Being a loyal cultist... Yeah, but I can easily tell from the descriptions. There's nothing much wrong in expressing my opinion based on the descriptions other people give; people do that all the time.
