  1. Yeah, how? Don't spout rubbish without giving evidence. Honestly speaking, I don't see HOW the [bleep] lowering max hits would screw things up. As long as the "damage resistance" is reasonable. How the hell are you supposed to efficiently train with higher leveled enemies resisting your damage? Don't say "uhhh, damage resistance should only be pvp", that's poor game design (inconsistency). While on the other hand - having exp remain the same (e.g. you normally hit a 10, it resists down to 5, but you still receive 40 exp), it would make training combat too easy (each enemy yields more exp). It pointlessly throws things out of balance either way. Pfft, Imagine how long F2P combat would take with damage resistance. Anyway, we already have the divine and elysian shields (ignoring the cost), and that's how Jagex intends to treat this concept, purely as a fancy perk for the wealthy. Why shouldn't we alter the combat system? Because much of the game thus far as been constructed around it, it would more negative impact than positive. There's nothing wrong with the combat system now anyway, RS is unique. All your points are true. I think the combat system could be altered still - maybe in a new version of RS? RS4? Mechscape? I don't know.
  2. Maybe lower it to 25%? Other special attacks can probably easily kill enemies with 40% or even more hp if they hit. So I don't think this is SO overpowered, especially if the special's speed is slower. Well the main problem I see is that it's guaranteed as long as the opponent is under 25% or 30% hp. No other special can guarantee a kill, even a extremely low hitpoints. (Let's face it, while most people would agree that if you get clawed at 20hp you're a goner, the clawer can still hit 0, 0, 3, 5 and let you live, right? And AGS'er can miss completely, even the Ancients combo and d bow spec can still let you live.) Maybe something like, the special give a high strength boost if your opponent is above 30% hp, but give a high attack boost if below 30%? It would accomplish more or less the same thing, except there would be no guaranteed kill. Maybe 35% strength and 35% accuracy if enemy is below 30% hp, and a 35% strength boost if enemy is above 30% hp. 55% special bar. So you can't use it in quick succession. What do you think of the rest of the ideas, btw?
  3. Fail of a suggestion. 1. Copied ideas from clan wars FFA. 2. Suggestions are supposed to be well-thought out, not 1 paragraph. 3. What's the point? People wouldn't waste time pking for no rewards. They'll be losing items. Especially when there are already almost identical copies like clan wars, etc.
  4. Yeah, but its not practical because: 1. Altars are far away from bank. 2. Its really hard to train.
  5. Yeah, that was kind of what I was trying to get at. Its just that this stubborn fellow can't CHANGE his perspective a little. He looks at everything from HIS point of view while I look at things from my point of view. And two different points of view with neither party willing to change his = heated argument. I'm not going to reply to your post because all you do is repeat the same things over and over again. All he says is "I contradict myself. I don't have reasonable arguments. Therefore I am an idiot." Look. You can spend a day posting here. Other people don't have so much time. Your reading skills are really horrible. WTF are you talking about? Talk about incoherent arguments. Its a HOBBY. You have to practice to do a hobby well too. You don't HAVE to practice, but if you want to do well, you have to. So I can't ignore posts? What right do you have to tell me that I have to reply to every post? If I don't reply to it, it means I acknowledge that it is true or it is too stupid or it is unrelated. What about you ignoring my post totally? Talk about hypocrisy. All you said was I wasn't the first person to say that you had disgusting reading skills. Which isn't related at all. And how does ignoring a large chunk of my post make this post incoherent and undeserving of an answer? Lets do some quoting eh? I can give tons of examples where hihihi727 contradicted himself and made incoherent arguments. Most of your other arguments are honestly a matter of perspective. I don't know what you're talking about really.

If you didnt care you wouldnt post saying "pointless" this and "pointless" that, mate. Just make your posts more realistic and whatnot, otherwise you look like a knob. Let me rephrase: Flame wars and heated debates are pointless. Waste of time. How much time does it take to make a post that says "Pointless rant"?
  7. Your sig says: "Its life. Just deal with it." I don't know why people like you (and a few hundred thousand others) can't understand that those changes are necessary and RuneScape will die without them. I don't understand, please explain to me. From what I see, RSC died because they released RS2, so, RS2 would die after they release a new game, which would be MechScape. Dunno, just guessing. Though honestly, I still can't see how runescape will die if they hadn't changed everything. RSC died because Jagex made it die. RS2 will not die because of Mechspace, Jagex clearly stated that RS will be their priority for the next 5 years. That's like saying no one will buy old Metallica titles because they release a new album... Runescape probably wouldn't have died if they had kept the trade limits, but they would have lost a lot of money from credit card company not wanting to do business with them because of the stolen credit card problem. That money loss would have meant less updates, and less updates means less members, a downward spiral. Ok, but it still seemed mighty fine during the days where autoers ruled all the resources, with a steady increase in number of players (although alot of those were autoers/goldfarmers), the company still grew in size right? I thought all games faced RWT problems. All games faced RWT problems, but Jagex's situation was more serious somehow or other. Maybe the UK banks are more strict or something? I don't know. You've never tried to woodcut/skill seriously before, have you? If you did, you'll definitely have seen those bald lvl 3 men hacking away at trees, stealing all your logs. How is that not annoying, may I ask? +1

true, english is my second language, which I consider not that bad compared to some on these boards. I'm not a native speaker of English too, but my English seems to be quite a bit better than yours. Its effort really. Yeah, I agree. Many people who are supposed to be native English speakers have horrible English, whereas some non-native speakers have near-perfect English.
  10. I don't support It could be a problem if Zezima or any other famous switches his name. Everyone will rush for it. Though it could help famous people hide their identity. Many problems will arise -friends' lists? People switching their identities (tom1 becomes tom2, tom2 becomes tom1)? Etc, etc. You get the point. It will probably never work.
  11. Think about it, how hard was it for you to make that bow? You did two clicks and 1 second later out popped the bow. You can't think of these things in terms of their real life counterparts. Now if ingame it took an hour to fletch each bow, you would probably make a decent profit. Correct, and in the time you spent walking you earned: whatever xp you gained from the item and whatever amount of money it is worth over its raw materials. If you spend very little time on the item (or it rewards a lot of xp), you might end up losing money. Part II: It sounds to me like people aren't complaining about skillcapes, but are upset with a flaw in the game where secondary skills aren't profitable, and you are (inaccurately) blaming skillcapes for the discrepancy. First of all, you guys overlook runecrafting, the most profiable skill and a secondary skill! To make all secondary skills profitable I propose that they make them more like RC: 1- speed up the rate of collecting raw materials and slow down the rate of crafting them. The latter might include increasing the level requirements to craft high level items (or make high level players craft them more quickly a la RC). The former would definitely include making it good xp to gather high level raw materials. 2- increase demand (this might mean you have to raise alchemy values) I disagree on runecrafting. Ignoring 70-80% of the skill and just looking at some parts of it like nature runecrafting is a very unfair and bias generalisation. How come fire runes and stuff cost less than rune essence?
  12. fixed. yeah ... sadly true its like legs and skirts, they offer the same bonuses but legs cost a lot more. Skirts are statistically better and not as rare. But skirts still cost less. That's what we're getting at.
  13. Practising a musical instrument requires skill, unlike playing Runescape. And to some people, it is work. They have to pass exams and if you want to excel you can't just play when you feel like it. And when did i say that i work during my spare time? Oh, and thanks for repeating what i said in my post. (Lol. You seem to imply that i said that playing a computer game isn't a "freaking" hobby) You did say that in an earlier post. Practicing a musical instrument is like practicing to score more goals in kickabout league. You didn't say anything about exams and stuff in the post. If my "WHOLE freaking post" implied that, why don't you go tell me how so? Maybe you're the one with "really disgusting reading skills". Why don't you back up your statements? Here, i'll even post my post again for you You said f2p players won't become members if they have skillcapes either. So what you mean here is that they will become members if they don't have skillcapes? Whose reading skills are disgusting now? Forgive me for being so stupid but i don't see what made you "interpret" that i said the main point of getting a membership was for a cape. In fact, i'll post another one of my posts, which has the same ideas, but in more detail. I doubt you even read the post again. Does it say anywhere that getting a skillcape is the main reason for becoming a member? Noooo i don't think so. Oh, really? So your whole post only existed to say that skillcapes are repetitive? Yes, everyone knows that. I never even disagreed. So why did you even reply to my post if we seem to share similar views? I mean, honestly, i may have other points, but that specific post you replied to only existed to emphasise that playing Runescape is not hard work, so skillcapes are not an amazing achievement. If you agree with me wtf are you trying to say? I have the suspicion that you are changing your argument because you realised that you were wrong but didn't want to admit it. Other parts of my post you ignored altogether. I don't agree with you on some points. So what you're saying is skillcapes are tedious but not difficult, just because they are in a computer game. Which brings me back to my first argument. So how does something being in a computer game makes it less difficult? If its hard, its hard. Office jobs are tedious but difficult too.
  14. Exactly. Crossbows should be twohanded like normal bows. How do you hold a crossbow with one hand and reload it with the same hand at the same time? Making crossbows 2-handed would be a significant hit to ranging. The fact that crossbows are 1-handed is for the sole reason that rangers need a weapon that offers variety and power. This variety and power comes in the different kinds of special bolt attacks that make ranging a whole lot more fun. For cbows to be made 2-handed they would need a significant improvement. I was questioning the LOGIC. Of course I didn't mean to change crossbows to be 2handed weapons in RuneScape. That will just be too much of a waste of a time just to achieve logic in a fantasy game.

  16. quelmotz replied to PuppyKing's topic in Rants
I hope you know I really do not care what half the people in rants says? Well, I don't care either. If you were going to retaliate to that post I would have just said I was wrong, blah blah blah. Its not worth it to waste so much time on a forum really.
  17. I agree that the combat triangle should be the no.1 priority, but why can't they just add the bury-x option as a small side update? I fully agree with you. It would be best suited as an "In other news" post. It's really not big enough for anything more, in my opinion. Yeah. Most other (insert action here)-x options are all in "In other news" anyway.
  18. Told you it wasn't a good idea to add that idiot's ideas. I'll stay on the list for now though. ;) Honestly Quelmotz, your comments are not necessary and I wonder why you continue to post when you all you do is use a "" emoticon 80% of the time you post, the way you act is so annoying and I can't believe that I have to point it out. As for p2p drops on the new demon, you might wanna add which charm it drops predominately, I'd say maybe crimsons and blues, but about the drop rate should be slightly less than the aquanite drop rate. As for the p2p drops, you might wanna add uncut gems and the corresponding family of drops to the demon. The drop family includes all uncut gems, dragon med helm, and dragon spear. I feel that these would be welcomed additions to the demon. Will you cut the crap and quit acting like you're so superior and you own the forum? Its a public forum - anyone can post however he/she likes. Stop trolling here and get lost to the RSOF. And my posting the  emote isn't annoying IMO. You can have your own opinion, but you have no right to dictate that others must follow your opinion.
  19. Maybe lower it to 25%? Other special attacks can probably easily kill enemies with 40% or even more hp if they hit. So I don't think this is SO overpowered, especially if the special's speed is slower.
  20. I agree that the combat triangle should be the no.1 priority, but why can't they just add the bury-x option as a small side update?

This rant doesn't have a point, which is the point. This is just a copy of the other few thousand rants related to being called a "noob" or something along the lines of that. I dont get mad. It just gets annoying after a while. You can't stand annoyance? Get off the internet. First of all, shut the [bleep] up. When I first joined tif i was one of the only people posting completely off topic. Now its turned into a [cabbage], so stfu and be more [bleep] productive. Second of all, DONT POST IF YOU ARE JUST GOING TO SAY LOLZ WAT SO POINTLESS /semi rant. And yeah I would understand why it gets annoying, it's the same thing that happens when you're asked why you dont have a 99. Yeah, insults make it so much better. How productive. Secondly, don't post anything if you're just going to scream insults.
  22. I shamelessly stooped down to your level. I started insulting you to counterattack, like a child, because I thought you would feel better to have another kid to play with. i mentionned this somewhere else, english is not my first language and I'm bound to make some grammar mistakes sometimes (thought I know I write better than most english born on these boards); thank you for correcting me, it will only improve my writing. I don't rant about everything F2P gets, I rant about what they ask a lot of times because they are like kids making a christmas wish list. I don't dictate what you guys should have or not, only giving my opinion that the main priority is to tweak the combat triangle, most other upgrades are mostly a kiddy's wish list. I really am not selfish, I want you to enjoy the game. There's just one condition, pay up. It's not that expensive, you even called it measly. Both are important, the combat triangle and the prayer update. So why not just combine them into one of the so-called "annual 1-2" updates?
  23. quelmotz replied to a post in a topic in Rants
Umm what? Anybody who is ftp will have a use for this update. I remember getting from 43-60 prayer took forever in f2p because burying bones was so slow. Why dont you go ahead and get 200k experience in prayer burying big bones and tell me that it was easy and you have the will to continue doing it. Clicking on every single bone, waiting for the animation to finish and then banking and withdrawing more is extremely tedious. A bury-X option would be wecolmed by f2p as an extremely useful update that makes the skill much more convienient to train. I agree with everything you said except I'm not stupid enough to train prayer the F2P way just to feel how it's slow. Seriously, once you've played the full game, you have no reason except the inability to pay to revert to the trial game. That's the point. You're commenting on something you've never tried. How the [bleep] can you generalise and say something is not useful if you've never played f2p at all? (or played a bit only?) Stop dictating that f2p shouldn't get this because its not useful/whatever. You might be able to stop f2p from getting updated, but you definitely don't have a right to tell Jagex HOW to update f2p should it be updated. So quit acting like the $5 you pay allows you to control the f2p game as well. It entitles you to more benefits, but not control over Jagex's updates.
  24. Exactly. Crossbows should be twohanded like normal bows. How do you hold a crossbow with one hand and reload it with the same hand at the same time?
  25. Hypocrisy eh? Saying people "stoop down to the level of flinging insults" when you also do it. =D> =D> And honestly, learn to spell. Calling this a "kindergarten" when you can't even spell properly. I never demanded that Jagex implement EVERY single update on this thread. How many times do I need to repeat myself? I'm saying, what's stopping Jagex from giving f2p a few more small updates, and why do you members have to be so selfish and dictate everything f2p receives, and rant about anything f2p gets/does?
