Tip.It Times: 26 July 2009
Both good articles IMO, but I didn't really like the first one. A bit boring. I mean, aren't the articles supposed to be about the game and the community, not membership and other miscellaneous stuff?

Wearable skill capes in F2P ~ 90 supporters ~
Full support

Stuff I hate about RS
So to conclude: Swearing excessively is immature and stupid. This is the case here. But swearing when you stub your toe or something is just a way of expressing your feelings.
-
Y no skill cape?
 Pointless rant. Big deal if some idiot who you don't even know keeps pestering you about your skillcape. They'll usually say "emote plox!" once you wear the cape. So just do what you want. Just ignore them if they're so damn annoying.

F2p prayer is unreasonable
So just because I can build a small house I don't need to build a bungalow/mansion? Just because there's an alternative to something doesn't mean you don't need to improve on that "something".

Yeah, yeah, scientific studies, etc etc. But honestly, does it make you any better as a person? Would people respect you more? People would just think you're immature.

Choosing your 3 death items...
Not a bad idea IMO. Would solve many of the "waah! I lost my (insert valuable item here)! F you Jagex!" rants.

Once a great game. A story/Rant for veteran players.
Good that you buried the hatchet. I was getting quite sick of arguing in pointless debates. Sorry that I was quite pompous or whatever you call it in that thread. Lets just forget it now, ok? Now, onto the main matter Hope you find this more constructive than some other posts.

Stuff I hate about RS
I can't believe people would WANT to swear. What does it do? Make you feel better? More superior? Cooler?

RUNE RAGE
Its just a game. You shouldn't give a [bleep] about some idiots calling you a nerd/whatever. And writing in caps just make people think you're immature and its another spam rant (actually it is) .

The Contemporary Spellbook
Exactly. However it is a fair assumption that a level 200 monster would be hard for a person with those kinds of requirements as stated in the quest. Unless the monster is stated to be particularly weak/whatever. If so, then why give him a high level anyway? Might as well make it low-leveled to reflect its power.
-
F2p prayer is unreasonable
Yeah. It wouldn't do much harm to Jagex because no one's going to quit over such a silly reason, but who wants people complaining, whining and flaming you?
-
Drop 1,5,x,all.
"Making the game too easy?" - I'll like to see you go and count the number of bones someone has to bury to get to 99 prayer in f2p. Or trying to get 99 mining for that matter. Its not making the game too easy. It's preventing people from breaking their hands trying to get a virtual cape.

The Contemporary Spellbook
Are you mad? A level 200 (two hundred!??) monster??? After being weakened by a lot of probably reasonably leveled monsters? Honestly. For p2p this would be ok, but for F2P!!!!!!!!????????? Seriously. You'd have to be close to 100 combat to do this quest effectively. And by that time you'll have 99 mage already, so what's the freaking point. Nerf the monster to level 80-100, with lower leveled guards in the tower below it. For p2p it could be higher leveled, but I doubt Jagex would do so because of massive flame. Ignore Quelmotz, his comments are ridiculous. I like the idea of a level 200 monster in f2p and the idea of killing him after being previously weakened. Maybe they could make it so that you could kill him every day for a drop of 50 random runes, or maybe 100 random runes. Kind of like a f2p bork. Oh yeah? You are the one who is ridiculous and makes incoherent and irrelevant comments. A level 200 monster after being weakened for a mage who is supposed to have 50 or so magic? Seriously. Level 40s killing 100s. So, level 80s killing 200s. And with level 80 combat, you'll already have a very high level in magic. So what's the point now? You finish the quest for an already completed book. Totally stupid and pointless. P.S. And who do you think you are, going around saying people's comments are ridiculous?

Dragon claws
Its basically too late for it now. If it was done during the update or even a few days after the update, not much complaining would go on, but if Jagex does this now, the forums would probably collapse due to the overload of rants.

Why can't F2P have...?
Another p2p selfish snob. Nobody gives a [bleep] about some idiot who can't use proper English. Your opinion doesn't make a difference for Jagex. Whine and moan all you want, and we f2p will be the ones laughing in your faces if we get skillcapes.

Skillcapes - Advantageous or Disadvantageous?
Why would you spend more time on a skill than you need to? I for one know that I would rather spend 3 weeks on cooking and take a loss than spend 3 months on it and possibly profit. Your post kind of forgets that making money is a part of the runescape experience as well. Actually, though I have not taken time to read every post as they get rather lengthy, this thread seems to focus on the same. I realize that you have narrowed it down to skillcape discussion but there are still many other things to do in RS other than skills. So can you really say that they are disadvantageous because they cause people to spend money to achieve one? Most of the prices were the same way they were before the release of skillcapes too (as Kent said). I believe the only difference now is that the prices are higher than they were in the past, both raw and finished resources. I would say they are advantageous even though they can cause annoying moments while playing. I should rephrase: "Why do we mad-rush-powertrain a skill? Why do we devote days and months and even years trying to achieve some virtual object? Why do we waste our life away doing these pointless things?"

F2p prayer is unreasonable
Typo I think. A few thousand selfish snobby [wagon] p2p players like ^^ (look above) will complain as if the sky was falling and Jagex could stop it by lifting a finger but didn't.

Mining Sucks (round 2)
No. Mithril and adamant ores are stupidly hard to obtain now, and they seriously need a boost. Not so much for Rune though, but definitely for mithril and adamant.
-
Stuff I hate about RS
I can't believe anyone would ENJOY complaining... Anyway, nothing can be done about the price limits. The second point is entirely your own fault. The language filters are there to create a better environment for everyone. If you want to swear, there are plenty of other places to do so. And Jagex has already relaxed the filters a bit, allowing words like "suck", "[wagon]", "crap" and some other stuff. I don't know about the fourth one, but I hate PvP updates too. Why should Jagex waste so much time messing around with PvP?

Once a great game. A story/Rant for veteran players.
Seriously, thedayrsdied, just get lost. This forum isn't for nostalgic people to reminisce in. Your posts don't make sense, you throw an insult in every sentence, and since you'll NEVER change your opinion that the updates on 10 December 2007 killed RuneScape, why should we bother to waste our time answering to your lame posts? All you'll do is come back with the same old arguments, which many other people have already proved wrong, and fling insults around if you're dumbfounded. I can't put my finger on it, but for some reason you remind me of the grandpa from the Rugrats. Oooooooooh, you're so clever. You're so witty. You're so sophisticated. Is that what you wanted to hear? Are you satisfied? Then piss off. You and your little pals can keep spewing your sloppy arguments, and i'll keep tearing them apart cannonballs tear through wet cardborad. Was there ever an inbalance before a certain few updates? No. Was there so much idiocy and ignorance and stupidirty in this game before miniclip? No. And, before that particular bad update, did jag have to spend so much time "fixing" pvp? No. People are trying to personally attack Eatrunearrow in order to dance around the merits of the argument. It's obvious. On the contrary, you're the one giving [cabbage] arguments and contradicting statements, (see example above by Moad14. And what did you do in all these few posts? Throw some insults around, make a lot of fake/untrue arguments that are based on opinions. Was there an imbalance before a certain few updates? Yes. You said "No" - what an amazing statement with a lot of evidence to back it up [/sarcasm]. Scammers, RWTers, etc etc. As someone already said, there's no point in debating with a person who just flames anyone who disagrees with him, without providing sound/solid arguments.

Its a P2P World, but F2P get the benefits
 +1. Honestly. Jagex will never be such an idiot to forget about p2p over time. They are a successful company, and companies will never forget that their customers are the bosses. So honestly, this is a pointless question. F2P will probably get a quest sooner or later, but I don't really care much about quests anyway. And there will always be the "Holiday quests". I think Jagex is counting on those to keep f2p entertained. F2Pers complaining about more things coming their way? I really ROFL at that. It must really be a typo, or you're a bit mad. No offense though. I don't care much about RuneScape now, FunOrb is just so much better. Discussing Runescape is an entirely different matter, though.

Jagex' way with Scape.
RuneScape isn't about combat, one of the main distinguishing features of it from other MMORPGs is its large variety of skills you can do outside of combat. Why should skillers have to do things the hard way whereas people who train combat can relax and kill some easy monsters to get a huge variety of drops without even touching those skills?

Drop 1,5,x,all.
So powerminers/cutters/whatever don't complain. If its was instant drop, it would be far to easy to skill, at least making it take 20 seconds would balance it out. Yeah, not only would there be a lot of pissed off miners, but training would just be crazy fast. TOO crzy fast. I like the idea, but it would cause quite a few problems unless it takes at LEAST 10 seconds to drop an entire inventory. I honestly don't give a [bleep] about the time taken, as long as its reasonable, and around the same time as an average player dropping his inventroy of ores.
