Woodcutting yews
I've never cut yews (couldn't be bothered to really GRIND my woodcutting levels), but I can tell you, willows at Draynor Village are just as bad, if not worse. Any world you go to, even with player numbers in the 200-300s, that place is filled to the brim with woodcutters.

Why can't F2P have...?
Very true. Honestly, it's stupid to pay for a VIRTUAL thing that you can't sell or anything. All it can do is let you have fun. And f2p is already fun enough. So what's the point of membership, honestly. To have MORE fun. After all, you can't exactly freeze ancient overpowered ghosts to death and steal their armor on F2P. And that's one thing I enjoy doing. Fun is a subjective term. Most people subscribe to members to have more fun. But what's the point, honestly? Grinding at skills more quickly, doing more repetitive and quests with storylines I couldn't care less about, playing minigames which are probably full of freeloaders, unfairness and annoying people?

cut the crap and remove pricing limits
RWT. Undoing all the hard work Jagex has put in to stop RWT with such an update? [] Because you could so easily put a Party hat in GE for 1gp and have nobody but your customer get it? Oh no, wait, you couldn't. Without the cap, you could put an item that nobody trades for 500mil and the other RWTer would buy it. Why people are always assming you can only RWT with phats and rares? +1 That was just what I was going to reply.

Views on Defence and its true resistance.
It is obviously possible for a fight that starts between a level 3 and a level 138 to end with the level 3 winning(assuming the 138 doesn't fight back). The main thing is the level 3 won't be a level 3 when the fight ends. a. it is possible for 1 att and str to hit so the level 3 will be gaining experience at a very slow rate b. the level 3 will continue to level up for eternity if the 138 isn't fighting back c. given a huge amount of time(maybe days or weeks); the level 3 will have leveled to sufficient stats to kill the 138 through the regen. d. A more curious question is what level does killing a 138 this way become viable; will you need a level 20 with 1 def or a level 30 with 1 def etc. True, but I assume what they're talking about is the level 3 does not gain xp or level up in any way whatsoever.

The Contemporary Spellbook
Yeah, this makes it more clear. A "level 200 monster" could be some very dangerous monster or some crappy monster with high health and defence but pathetic offense.

[Updated 9 Dec] Reviving Smithing : Divinite
Ok, so maybe a 20% prayer restore, 1.5 minute cooldown. And IMHO, the archfiend shield (orb) should have better/equilavent stats compared to the archfiend shield in ALL WAYS. I mean, as you said, the orb requires recharging/will degrade to nothing after a while, and the extra piece costs $$$ too, so the archfiend shield (orb) should be better.

Terminal Stupidity?
LOLZ U FAIL NERD GET OUTTA YOUR MOMS BASEMENT ^ That's what you'll get from about 90% of the RS population if you kill them, try to kill them, get killed by them, escape being killed by them, step within 3 feet of "their" tree, fire, rock, hellhound, whatever. I guess this rant is about that most people are SOMEWHAT intelligent (they've survived up to this point, right?) and yet they're stupid enough to not show it. Contradiction much? :

Once a great game. A story/Rant for veteran players.
When a company is losing money because of its players' activities, don't you think that they will rush to end said activities as soon as possible? quelmotz didn't explain properly how the money was being lost, but he did get the important part- that they were losing money because of RWT. In all honesty, if I were in charge of fixing that situation, I would've just made the game exclusively PvM. We've wasted so much time with updates meant to appease the Player Killers, who still manage to complain very loudly about each attempt. It's pointless to try to satisfy them, so I wouldn't bother. I'd say that JaGEx's solution was quite favorable compared to mine, eh? :o You took the words out of my mouth! Apparently, this guy doesn't understand me. What matters is they WERE losing money due to RWTers, it doesn't matter how. If you're losing money, would you wait a long time to make a decision or immediately take action to prevent further losses? Obviously the latter. It's easy to criticise Jagex for being to hasty and rash now, but at that point, how would YOU act?

Level 3 skillers
Skillerz r funz t00 u n00b! Honestly, it depends on your opinion. Most people like combat, but for some un-understandable reason, some people like grinding skills in a virtual world for bragging rights...

Terminal Stupidity?
Apparently most on RuneScape are stupid, idiotic people, nerds, no-lifers, people who fling insults every third word... Wait - what am I talking about - it's the internet...

No Update Week
What the OP is saying is basically: Waah! No updates! Waah! Updates suck! Waah! Updates full of bugs! Apparently the upgrade year is to upgrade the game to make it smoother, better graphics, more convenient, etc. Not for perfect minigames and stuff. And Jagex did a good job in making the game smoother and more convenient IMO. Apparently, you're complaining and whining because you expect huge updates and the usual stuff. This year's updates were quite lackluster, yes, but it was a not too bad considering the fact that it was called the UPGRADE year. Things like tools for clans, reaching out to fansites, developers' blogs, twitter and not being so silent and keeping to themselves were huge improvements for the community. Rest, the running upgrade and some other stuff made the game more streamlined and smooth. Quests developed storylines further, finished storylines, etc. So just be appreciative, stop taking all the bad things and nitpicking. Jagex has made huge improvements in reaching out to the community and upgrading the game to make it more smooth.

[Updated 9 Dec] Reviving Smithing : Divinite
All that blessing things make me confused. But never mind, its your idea and your choice. About the chakram - Good idea...just that I don't know how to get about designing the stats for that. Orb of Power: +43 magic attack -3 crush defence +3 slash defence +2 stab defence +11 magic defence +8 summoning defence +4 prayer Special attack: Bash. 2 charges. Ever in a situation where a pesky warrior is tearing you up? No worries, use this attack and all your problems will immediately be resolved. A melee attack at 115% strength but 90% accuracy. Stuns the opponent 75% of the time. 1.5 minute recharge. I'm kind of running out of ideas, any suggestions?

The Contemporary Spellbook
Yeah. The point is to challenge LOWER level mages to get the spellbook, not to force everyone to have to be level 99 mage or so before being able to get the spellbook.
-
Once a great game. A story/Rant for veteran players.
If they were widespread enough that you could get one when you go shopping or something, it would be just as convenient, maybe slightly more expensive, and I'm sure many people would do it simply because they are paranoid of giving away credit card info. Look - how much would Jagex have to invest to get RuneScape wallie cards in almost every convenient store? A lot. Just give up. Its not feasible to remove credit card payment.

No Update Week
If they do an update week, you'll complain about it. If they don't do an update week, you'll complain about it. Do you see where I'm going with this? You'll complain either which way it goes. Pick a complaint and stick with it; don't put Jagex's feet to the fire because they do or do not update something, alright? Besides, updating something as mammoth as RS doesn't mean that it will be 100% bug free. It's kinda weird that people just don't know how much work has to be put into debugging and refactoring a game engine as large and as complicated as RuneScape. :? +1 Honestly, why don't you whiners go and give yourself a week off? Stop spoiling everyone's time with your continuous whining and complaining.

What's with zealots!?
Yeah, true. These are all very touchy topics, which people will immediately switch into "flame mode" if they're proved wrong and can't reply adequately.

Player Safety
You mean in contrast to EVE online where the makers don't give a damn that the entire player economy crashed last year because the game's largest and most successful player run business had a coup? Heh, I lolled myself silly when my friend gave that article to me  . You're right; there is no universal common sense. But there are rules of thumb; one of them is "no free lunch". Regardless if everyone knows that (I highly doubt that even a majority of people exercise this advice), it's something that you should know because knowing behooves you tremendously. It's not common sense that iron ore is the best lvling ore because there are probably 5 billion people in the world who don't know this. But it is a rule of thumb when applying to runescape. Trying to make a universal RoT is like trying to make a universal currency. Eventually, you can do it, but I guarantee that bread price in the US will be different than bread price in the UK simply because of chaos theory and 1 person can through off something as intertwined as universal currency or a universal RoT. Yes, agreed. Common sense really differs. It's common sense to use herbal medicine to cure diseases in remote places of the world, whereas it's common sense to go see a doctor if you're sick in developed countries.

Fletching Cape.
Agreed. Just because a cape is easier than the rest of the capes, doesn't mean its EASY.

Full support. Running is a valid tactic, so is hiding, however annoying it might be.

Views on Defence and its true resistance.
Are you serious? The 138 isn't hitting back and you think the level 3 only has a slim chance? He can't lose, eventually he will kill him. :wall: Eventually...who knows how long it takes? Technically, the level 3 might not be able to catch up with the HP regeneration rate of the 138. Exactly. If he can hit 1 damage every 60 seconds (guess) he would keep him at about the same healthso any more than 1 hit per minute is killing him, although I can't remember who he said was wearing full statius. It might take an two or so hours to kill him...that is if the level 3 is lucky. If he's unlucky, he might never kill the level 138 at all.

FoG Hiders
Then lets delete the whole Debate Club forum and never debate about runescape - because everything in RuneScape is just part of the game. ;) Good point. But honestly, the debate club has about 1-2 threads in 20 that is a DEBATABLE topic, not a SUGGESTION...

Well said =D> I've never gotten scammed either, not trying to brag or anything, but to show that it IS easy to avoid getting scammed if you use common sense.
