The problem is, not all of them do it. My ex-wife was (and still is) awful with the money I earn.
  2. Which is ridiculous, and exactly the reason we need more control over what the game filters.
  3. Don't all monsters become non-aggressive after 10-15 minutes? That's always been my experience.
  4. Congrats on 85 Ranged. That's some crazy Cooking xp. What are you cooking? Lobs? Do they still make a profit?
  5. Unfortunately, they don't show up if you have the game filter on.
  6. As promised, here is my official update, blog lovers! |^_^| Since I've been superheating this week, there haven't been quite so many new levels as last week but I still managed to get a couple. [spoiler=79 Magic] [spoiler=80 Magic and 74 Combat] [spoiler=79 Smithing] I'm planning to get at least 80 Smith before returning to Dungeoneering. Hopefully it won't take too long. I also did the new Ozan quest, Stolen Hearts, this morning and I have to say I was very impressed. Now I know what all the fuss was about with the last couple of members quests. The voice acting and the story were excellent (if a bit Princess Bride-ish). I can't remember the last time I had my sound on, so I was really surprised at how nice everything sounded (I turned it off long ago while Mining. There's only so much *tink, tink, tink* you can listen to <_<). Best of all, I got to acrobat my way across the rooftops of the newly redone Al Kharid! This is probably as close to Agility training as I'll ever get, unless they add it to a holiday event again. I actually got so engrossed in the cutscenes after that, I forgot to take more pictures. No new quest points, but I did get two more SoF spins...which I just realized I totally forgot to use. :wall: Oh well. The lamp I did get, I obviously spent on Prayer. The new Al Kharid looks great. They did an excellent job on it. It will be a real treat to train Crafting there again. But for now, it's back to standing in the bank and turning iron and coal into steel with nothing but a fancy stick, some decorative stones and the awesome power of my mind!
  7. I have a similar attitude towards chats, although since they relaxed the website rules to include approved fansites I will direct people directly to Tip.It.

You have some good tips, and I have some comments on a few of them: Property - I agree, in the long run owning your own home is definitely a better option than renting. Especially since, if you maintain it and nothing causes your area to become a burnt out slum, the value will only go up over time. Electricity - solar/wind/etc.. is not really an option that most people can afford. I don't know what it costs where you live, but I've looked into it here and based on my current hydro bill, it would take almost 17 years of problem-free (ie: $0 in maintenance costs) service from a solar system for it to have saved me any money over simply paying my monthly bill. Once the price comes down, this may be a more viable solution. Food - not everyone has the option of growing/picking their own fruits/veggies, but careful shopping can save you tons of money. My roommate and I used to do this all the time. Sure it took about 7 hours to get groceries, but at half the cost and our bus passes meant we didn't have to pay for gas. |^_^| Transportation - excellent points (see above on a effective combination :P) Television - I don't think there are any open air TV transmissions in North America anymore, so we're kind of rooked on that one. Phone/Internet - you need at least a home phone in this day and age, but a VOIP setup can combine both of these for a minimal cost. My friend pays about $30 a year for his VOIP phone line.
  9. Welcome to TIF! :) I'm sure we can help to increase your RS enjoyment.
  10. Dag. Somebody sure likes to cook. :P Early congrats!
  11. Ouch. Yeah, it should definitely let you finish combat and then give you a warning before simply dc'ing you in the wild. Or at least automatically teleport you to a safe area before logging you off.
  12. Welcome to TIF! :) I'm sure you'll find this is indeed an excellent community.
  13. Thanks. I expect it's going to slow down somewhat now that I'm back to superheating for the next little while. Don't worry though, it will pick up again before too long, I still want to get all my non-combats up to at least 70 so that means I will be returning to the depths of Dameonheim soon enough. ;) Thanks. Right? And I'm going to be doing it again soon as I've already gone though about 3/4 of them and only made about 5k steel bars. Oh well, I guess anybody crazy enough to pick Mining as their first F2P 99 is crazy enough to stick with mining enough clay to fill an urn every time he needs new ones. Not to mention crazy enough to make his own urns in the first place. ;) Sorry for the lack of updates this week everyone, it's been crazy busy at work and irl. Shell Canada has been upgrading their systems to accept chip cards (which I've been overseeing since late July but this week has been just nuts), which means new hardware systems in all of their pumps. While the overtime has been really good for my bank account, I certainly won't be sorry to see the end of this one. I leave the house at 6am and I'm lucky to be home before dark most days. At least by the time I get home my SoF spins have reset. :P On Wednesday, my son fell off his bike and I had to leave to take him to the hospital (fortunately, the hospital near me has relatively short wait times. If I'd taken him to CHEO in Ottawa, we'd probably still be there <_<). Don't worry, he's fine. He got three stitches in his chin and hopefully a lesson learned. Thus are the dangers of teaching an 11 year old boy about Evel Kinevel. I should be able to do a proper update later tonight or tomorrow. Not too much to report, but I have gained a couple of levels and visited Botany Bay. Full details in the next post. Hopefully by then I'll also have done the new quest which I'm hearing good things about. That's all for now, folks. My lunch is over so it's time to get back to work.
  14. Congrats! I can't imaging training anything to 15M xp, but maybe I'll give it try with Mining one day.
  15. You've had quite a week. Congrats on all the levels.
  16. That sucks D.V.. The suggestion of finding a new chat to hang out in might be a good one. It seems like someone in there is only looking to become a mod.
  17. Doing this might be a good idea, but can lead to confusion amongst players, especially new ones, about the availability of rare or limited items as some servers would have lots of them and some would have little to none depending on when they went online. This was always an issue I had with MapleStory were an item that was relatively worthless on a server that was running for an entire promotion was extremely valuable on another that went online right at the end of it. Of course, pretty much everything in MS was tradable so that might not be an issue here.
  18. I visited Botany Bay last night and loved it! Throwing rotting tomatoes, picking a punishment, and laughing along with the other spectators. I also like that there's a lot of talking with everyone there. I'm going to check out the new quest later tonight. It sounds like it's going to be good.
  19. Welcome to TIF! :) It's always good to see another pure F2P. You should check out the F2P discussion and top 250 list threads in the "General Discussion" section.
  20. Well then, let's see if I can secure a more permanent position in the top 200. ;)
  21. I was at work. While I knew I'd probably die there one day, I didn't think my character would.
