  1. Refer to my post on TeenageLosers topic....
  2. I also think the planet is a bit overburned...
  3. Space scenes are a dime a dozen, you have to make yours very dynamic if you want to be recognized. Skills and techniques can be learned in time, but you must never forget composition. What is the first thing that a child does when he draws a picture for his mother? He puts the sun (a semi-semicircle) in the top corner. If you want someone to notice your work and if you want to improve, I suggest trying more original composition, don't always take the kindergarden approach. Good work though, just change it up a bit and you'll be fine.
  4. I don't like the X thing in the top right... but I think the canyon deal in the bottom left looks great, adds character to it. I do think though, that your "bevel" (I know that's not what you used, but for lack of abetter word) on the edge between the lake and the land is a bit too much... Planets are huge, and there is no sense of scale with a bevel that big... if the bevel was less obvious, I think it would work out a bit better. Nice job though, looks really cool. 8)
  5. Apart from the animation studio I work at, I'm also now the graphic designer at a photography studio.... We have like this (I'm not exactly sure on the specs) quad processor 3.something gig 2GB of ram, 200GB harddrive, etc etc... and when we do 16x20x300dpi stuff for clients... even that machine gets bogged down..... It's a 10 thousand dollar computer and it can get slow when you start adding layers. I recommend alot of saving and alot of layer merging... Then again, I also feel that the 10grand computer is not properly optimized, but who knows...
  6. A 16x20 space scene at print quality resolution is going to rape your computer. Nice planet though.
  7. Looks great. Any detailed wires for us? :-P
  8. The reflections on the rear quarter panel and windshield seem a bit funky... That's my only real crit, if I had to pick one. Really nice job, wish I could model like that. (although I am still learning) Jabraulter, stop opening your mouth and constantly making a fool of yourself.
  9. 2d shows potential, 3d is a waste of time...

    Rofl. Made my day.
  11. Black stroke is too thick....
  12. Chop off the bottom 500-ish pixels and you have yourself a pretty nice scene. Yeah, it looks pretty CG, but for the program you are using it's not unexpected. Definitely could use a focal point though.... how about a bug on that foreground leaf?
  13. they are called bricks............ you need them in walls. roflmfao
  14. The feet/legs are bit small compared to the upper body... Also the shoulder pads seem a bit high....
  15. Doesn't look any different than any of the other space background's I've seen... one of the main things about space scenes is composition... anyone these days can create the backgrounds and planets.
  16. Can I eat that crunch bar? Oh nevermind, it's a baseball bat. :o
  17. Smilies are made pixel by pixel, how is this a new style? Maybe an abstract pixel would be something a bit more original...
  18. Get some of Calpomatts matrix beats... I used one for a flash site I made about 3 years ago... I loved it...
  19. Buy the legit version and then contact customer support.
  20. Not bad right now, but there are two things to keep in mind when designing things for TV. You must be sure you fit inside the Title Safe and Picture Safe areas. Right now, most of what you have will be cut off by alot of TV's. Sure, some TV's might display it correctly, but a majority of them will not. Here is an example. All titles should fit inside the Title Safe area; anything outside will most likely be cut off. All pictures should fit inside the Picture Safe area; anything outside will most likely be cut off.
  21. After viewing the picture at work (with a much better monitor) I can see alot more detail in the foreground - my mistake.
  22. Haha... don't use mac's much but as far as illustration goes, you did a wonderful job.
  23. A few inconsistencies but I don't think anyone will notice them... not bad for the time put into it... Merc the only real thing you have to go on is the flower... I can post a full higher res version if you need it (it's vector). Let me know.
  24. I was expecting something a bit more developed....
