  1. For what it's worth to me it seems to be a way to mask inactivity and create an aura/Illusion of a more busy forum by combining less visited places with bigger forums that in some case of some of these forums on the chopping block, actually used to get traffic - perhaps restructuring the rules and flow of them may be more beneficial than just merging them. It creates a better overall look when everything looks busier....A forum for a Hobby of mine recently expanded it's total forum categories by 2x making a forum that i could of swore was always busy, seem like a ghost town at times. Tif has always been over-categorize in an anal effort to place everything where it belongs - and if a trend popped up, it always seemed like a sub-forum was created in order to keep the forum that the trend started in - free of the trend. As one of the driving forces behind the Sport's and Fitness forum which is on the chopping block, I can understand the reasoning behind so many forums - and see the reason for it to be merged again. So That was one of the original proposed ideas for the forum and a logical move, it's obvious the vast majority of the userbase it was created for, is no longer here. Should of been done ages ago. A smart and logical change Or just let them be asked in the graveyard? it's not like it's bustling or ever really has been - and i'm sure if a question is asked by one user in help and advice and one in the graveyard, it's not the end of the world. It's such a small percentage of users needing help in this aspect it doesn't really *need* a preset place. Sounds feasible I personally feel actual works of literature could go anywhere - A poem would get more feedback in off topic than in the Library, a desolate wasteland where most works get no feedback. I'd agree with nic and Darkdude, leave a section of it for those who play those games, Personally i don't consider them proper videogames - and it's a nice homeage to the creators of the game this forum is about Holy crap, it's about time! I think I just lost a bet with someone about how long these would stay. haha. would work, but the tavern had a decent userbase - they may be able to provide some feedback personalized in the actual tavern - the people who don't use it, shouldn't be able to judge it's fate here in this avenue. The Tavern group was an eccentric bunch, but if I had to pick one thing that would make half of them ragequit - doing this based on the feedback of the community as a whole would be it. Go to them, discuss it with just the regulars and work out a compromise with them. - That seems to be the fair, professional and honorable solution. What's the point of merging those forums if it irks the existing userbase and they don't post? I could actually see that one happening.
  2. The end is Nigh... It's depressing. I don't think the player's voting or not voting for jagex in the joystick awards will impact anything
  3. I've always viewed good tip.it member as someone who contributes an honest, from the heart thoughtful post to a discussion. Someone who respects other posters, and doesn't act innocent around friends when they have been banned and warned :P. People who are thoughtful, dedicated, driven, and capable of thinking, i admire those who can question authority, and both understand the need for it. I think the bottom line though, is a user who respects the other users, is a good member. They are becoming rare these days, and it's sad. Tip.it's our community, our house, OURS, we make it what we want, and from the general posting style of the masses, no one seems to want much overall, it's depressing.
  4. Most of those accounts are probably stolen by now and jagex just doesn't give a [bleep]
  5. do cats go meow?

  6. have fun collecting! it's a fun hobby - be careful to avoid fakes though and autopens and preprints from places like studiofanmail for example.

  7. No it's definitely not, you're right. I can post a screen of me getting 107 combat the day before rs2 was released, and on that list I'm 102. Also good to see you and Fook still lurking around. Hey buddy, good to see you still alive! Kingleonardo did compile that list in summer of 2002.
  8. sorry you guys do, but i'm so burnt out, i don't really want to even see this forum, haha Peace
  9. What the [bleep]? Seriously? Killerred just told me about it, and got some info from tripsis - Not too sure why people would care about me anymore, as i'm resigned and not coming back ANYTIME SOON. Thanks ~Das

  13. Not denying that I was being rude and arrogant to say that, but when it comes down to it if Jagex started sellling 24 hour double xp sessions I guarantee people will be throwing money at them. Im personally against it but when it comes down to it id continue playing and I wouldn't care if I fell behind the standard of people buying their ranks. After all if this game is for fun who cares about who buys success. Much like I dont care about people botting as is. Like it or not its becoming clear this is the direction runescape is going, and if you are willing you might as well make the best of it. And i'm sure people would buy 99 skills for a few hundred dollars just like farmville sells no wither spray for a premium. I think if a company makes such an adamant stand agaisnt RWT that they cripple trade for what, 2 years? offering microtransactions is a slap in the face for everyone around that era. The game was built on the principal of hard work (ie, clicking until you die) and although it's flawed and about as fun as cutting your wrist at times, changing it 10 years into it, would only cause severe backlash, I'd rather jagex legalize macroing than allow microtransactions.
  14. interestingly enough when jagex launched members in 2002, they promised weekly updates. top players got upset this didn't happen and flamed because "smaller updates should be possible. Skills like fletching, herblore and thieving were just not "enough".
  15. it's still an arrogant statement to tell people to "Save up". I spend enough on collectibles to buy whatever the piss jagex throws at me, but not everyone can afford to. This game is your honda civic of gaming, it's a low end mmo, and the second money in real life is allowed to make a difference you have fragmented your userbase imo.
  16. for what it's worth I've known Dirtydevil since I Started way back in 2001 . He's not a troll and one of the few guys in the game that i've known who has always been a class act. I've got a lot of respect for him. I could realistically see him telling his kid to not talk to people, for fear they may be like fook a ji! And I don't really blame him :P If I remember, I asked fook a ji for advice in mining in 2001, and he told me to google something that came back with explicit pornography - He had a point, it was more interesting than mining.
  17. I watched 4 episodes at work I want my time back. ~huge fan of animation
  18. I'm hardly one to defend Jagex, but really. People are blowing this out of proportion. It's a low level item which will have very little, if any, effect. In a way, it reminds me of the mass hysteria surrounding the climbing boot change. People just want something to complain about. but theres actually lots of legitimate stuff to complain about (macros and jagex's ineptness in stopping them) - This is an odd move from the company.
  19. RS micro-transactions anyone? No wonder they didn't announce this. <.< Thats exactly what it is. I've paid with my credit card since members launch and i'm being punished by not buying a more expensive gamecard? Lol. My loyalty means nothing - i'm just a number taken for granted. whats next? paying to be allowed to macro legally?
  20. Why is it acceptable to wear brand tshirts (Nike) or band tshirts but not games? Are people seriously concerned about what other ppl might think? Most of my friends know I play, some of my work friends know I play, some of my family know I play. I'm not a social pariah. I think it comes down to simple marketing psychographics. Whats 5 words when you think of runescape? What us old guard may suggest - the people who know of it in passing probably won't. Even if you try to do it honestly and unbiasedly you get words like these Free (Jagex boasts largest free rpg still), Roleplaying Game Java (not exactly known for gaming brilliance MMO (not exactly known for social butterflys) Browser Based (Hello Farmville and Mafia Wars) I'm wearing a shirt with a Mountain Dew Logo right now - sure free advertising for Pepsi Co - but Dew is delicious, trendy and something everyone is familiar with, it has no negative stigmas like a runescape shirt does. The only thing I might ever buy from Runescape thats currently offered would be the books, currently I can buy them on amazon for the same price plus on amazon if I spend $25 I get free shipping. On Jagex I pay $7.99 per book and $7.90 shipping - that shipping price will ensure I never order again. One book is over $4 shipping Again bested by amazon. Lets move on to the shirts. For the price, I can buy a product with more prestige in the world of fashion like American Eagle for pretty much comparable prices. Nikestore online is more expensive, but you can simply go to a nike outlet store and kill the jagex prices - Go to Hot Topic for pop culture stuff, chances are you will find something more trendy for a similar price as well. Now as for the shirts designs - Does ones like Cabbage Bomb, Bad Monkey exactly scream runescape? Why have the pink partyhat on the mens hoody? why not blue which is more of a male color - I guess I'd wear the combat triangle shirt if I had to be forced to wear those designs. Shirts with the words "I pked your mom, I love runescape" "big ass boss monster" or "level 99 party animal" look cheap, What does I <3 RS mean to people outside of runescape anyway? Rapidshare? Rolling Stones, red sea? It's not the media hound wow is. Next up - The shirts themselves. They don't exactly scream high quality. I happen to of received one as a gift and let's just say it's not that great of quality fabric wise (And I just wore it around the house) As for companies on facebook? I fanned the ones I do buisness with, especially the ones who have useful perks like free shipping codes and sale/store updates, but 20% off? that doesn't even cancel out the shipping enough to make it worth my while. 20% off from most places doesn't excite me, I'd have to spend $50 or 60 to see any real savings. it's certainly not enough to make me care to spring for smaller items. But if they can't get a coupon code to work in a store, it's no flipping wonder they can't stop macro's and cheats . As for the Jmod? I dare him to stop macro's - work so hard it has to be considered a laughing matter around the jagex office since it simply can't be done ~Das
  21. LOL. i was going "HECK YEAH" Ah Magey, From friends to enimies to friends again <3
  22. Pathetic and insulting display from Fema.
