  1. they make adult conventions too :P
  2. I've been busy as ever. Picked up this 16x20 of UNC Basketball Coach Roy Williams from Stiener Sports Mary Costa plays Sleeping Beauty - She has some epic handwriting too, probably the best i've ever seen. Here's a closeup I loved the movie Thor - and Jamie Alexander was a hottie - I think she'll have a bright career. Pippa Black is smoking Hot from Outsourced (ashamed it got canceled) Christopher Heyerdahl was absolutely awesome in supernatural. I've Started two multisig pieces... Scott Pilgrim VS the world (Signed by Mae Whitman and Aubrey Plazza) And The Rite (Signed by Marta Gastini, Torey Devito and Director Mikael Hafstrom) And because tripsis said I could put her in Hide Tags - Miss Lupe Fuentes (No way the Marie McCray will ever be Tip.it approved, Lulz) [hide][/hide]
  3. I wanna play. Being an administrator can be time intensive thats no doubt, but I was able to play a decent amount myself as well. People cry admins are out of touch and don't play, then cry they play too much. Seems like a no win situation - either they don't play and are out of touch or get comments like how many massive scale forum's has everyone run run? Tears of Guthix+Penguins = 30k xp or more a week with less than oh 15 or 20 minutes effort. Lakrob, gained more xp than me in any given month, and was a better admin in those months as well - It's a bit unfair to judge admin's effectiveness with no knowledge of the behind the scenes work that is done by the admin team. I mean, if Laikrob, N Odie or myself were throwing stones about too much rs playtime and lack of work - Maybe the point would be a bit more....meaningful. I too, am not saying playing can make a difference between a good or bad mod or admin, but game knowledge, can't hurt. We factor in QUITE A LOT of criteria in promotional choices for mods and admins - Don't think during my time the XP gains ever come up as a serious detractor from a promotion. We've got much more important criteria to look at.
  4. I liked it

What about when a family member/gf/friend wants to use the TV? Don't most people have more than one TV? I loathe motion gaming, and considering how much my Wii just sit's around unused compared to my other systems- Don't see myself rushing out to buy the Wii-U. The fact that it's getting Arkham City and other franchises I can play on my other consoles - is kinda lackluster.
  6. You are aware in order to obtain a drivers license most states (if not all post 9/11) require you have a social security number to get one? Your profile says located in Jordan....so not too sure if you do know To get instate tuition - thees numerous ways for American citizens to beat the system as is - all you need is proof at place of residence usually (NC is 3-4 years) and a letter from the owner of the house if it's not yours.
  7. Seriously? It wasn't long ago when Jagex would warn and ban people people from the official forum for posting links to mainstream stuff like CNN. This is a game that one time you would get a warning for calling a player in a deathmatch wench (true story, that one was me) and one that was heavily marketed towards teens. I mean hell they removed quest monstors from the Lava maze to edge dungeon to make the quest "Easier" - Jagex spent 3 or 4 years making the game child proof. Asking for an MSN, Email or trying to make a friend outside of the game was personal details, and I can name 3 or 4 members of my clan who got muted (in one case, permanently)for "Advertising" even though our site was not a scam site. To think runescape was always marketed towards adults, lest intelligent people is misguided at best, lord knows the value on trade screens, doomsayer, ditch of stupidity, multiple warnings on duel/trades were made for smart and savy users right? Anyone who played classic SHOULD know runescape has been dumbed down for the masses. Even RS2 product's should of seen Jagex become ultra protective of it's userbase and then stop caring. I'm not sure how long you've been playing, but it couldn't of been too long if you think runescape was designed for adults. a good third to half of the games life was geared towards protecting users. I just feel you have to be in the minority to think Jagex is geared for adults, Don't know about you, but runescape was a social stigma at my university. I mean, most hot sorority chicks had no clue what it was - but gamers and fellow CS/Cis/Engineering students? Holy crap, some dude played RS in networking class once, and he was made fun of the ENTIRE semester, He was called "Runes" All semester long. Hell with quick-chat world's - I'd make an arguement it's geared towards tweens. But even with the filters removal - adult's can't talk about ebay or select adult sites ;) Tip.it on the otherhand, has went through various stages of stupidity - again any longstanding member of runescape would remember when tip.it disallowed RL pictures for fear of people using them for bad "things" - users were protected at the cost of functionality. Furthermore, it's extremely asinine to assume "adults" are technical savvy because they are "capable of making a decision. I program in C# and PHP, I'm capable of making a decision on a link - take it from someone who works in customer support - the average person over the age of 30 is beyond incapable of making competent technical decisions. I'd wager from various experiences on facebook and fixing classmates computers at university - that a very small percentage of people our age are actually technical savvy unless they actually have an interest in computers. I think it's fair for Tip.it to protect by blocking executables - simply because while some users are smart and intelligent, the general masses are stupid and uniformed. The amount of feedback forms we get where people think WE'RE JAGEX were mind boggling - I could see angry parent's and crap blaming us for a virus that they downloaded when it was a malicious link that lasted all of 15 minutes ~Das PS: Runescape carries such a stigma - that even my call center employees are so bored they watch my little pony on youtube over trying runescape. I think the only reason I don't get [cabbage] for it more than I do - is because I can write them up. They ask me great thing's like "Hey Dan, you cooking any lobsters tonight?" "Hey Dan, you should make fire in straight lines between calls" "Hey Dan, I think my 70's Han Solo toy here has more movement than your Character". Firemaking at work was lulzy - True exchange "Hey dan, all you do is click logs in a line for hours?" "yes" "how is that fun?" "It's not" "Why do you play" "I like the people I play with" "You wanna go make fires in a line tonight after work?" "sure" "what kind of wood do you burn on the game?" "maple" "Sweet, i got that in my backyard". Firemaking in real life is MUCH harder.

New levels, new gun's perhaps and some new story, I'd honestly rather pay $60 for Halo 4 right now then buy any new wii release for a comparable price in the past sixth month's. (this caveat excludes me from slamming Cursed Mountain, which was the best $5 i've ever freaking spent) I've gotten my money out of every halo game so far.

I actually had to check to see if I brought the wrong CD to work. Sims is going to facebook? Oh god, thats a new of gaming loser. EA = Rehashing Madden every year, and getting me to spend $60 for roster updates. Brilliant.
  10. das replied to Demoli's topic in Off-Topic
    I'll buy all 3.

E3 has been less and less exciting for years.
  12. As an admin, I'd guess I did review 50-75 HJT files WITH the censor (all new mods/crew are required to do one). It was annoying as piss, but something I didn't think about changing in the censor because of the risks to users of inferior intelligence than the majority of us who don't play with strange [Caution: Executable File]s's I always found find and replace worked well and only slowed me down marginally. I'd much rather see Prick unfiltered - However I doubt that will happen *giggles*
  13. It's a double edge sword. While I feel it's unfair to the home users of Sonypictures who got leaked, Sony has now been publicly shown the errors of it's ways to where it cannot hide from the public. Doing this forces change whereas private would possibly cause feet dragon. Messing with the government is domestic terrorism though and i feel is a dishonor to your country to publicly expose them like they have done
  14. to be fair, more people know who he is now than they new who I was before I was promoted. I never ventured outside of clans before I became admin. Jimmy will be great, he has my full endorsement .
  15. Not suprised at all, Well, that takes care of that.
  16. dude what Rainy Day dared me to post it. Ask him.
  17. Yep, I wouldn't want jagex with any power on these boards. We have full control now, I'd like to see TIF keep it.
  18. bit drastic - and this is coming from a guy who got a hernia from chubby chasing.

i liked the show and enhoyed it, it's ashame Kruek and welling are near impossible to get autographs of - or i'd go for the cast
  20. stickies, while a good idea are sadly flawed. No one reads them and that transcends to non runescape forums. I can imagine curious players pointing people to some massive wall of text shouting to read it. I see three paradoxes's 1) How much knowledge is "common knowledge" and how much is open to debate at this point. Quite a bit of stuff could fit in the sticky leaving little room for discussion until updates occur, While it works for the C Rapier - where does it end ? Theres alot that needs to be defined. 2) does anyone really want a community that refers to the sticky constantly? One of my biggest pet peeves when I joined staff was people just saying "you broke section 2.2 of the rules" expecting people to go read them and know. Why not show them what 2.2 is? The same applies to the rapier. I cant imagine a healthy community really telling people "go read common knowledge" over and over. What's common knowledge to a select few people who play the game a certain way.) isn't common knowledge to everyone. The attitude is daunting to some. 3) would a subforum with archived "hall of fame" type topics not be better? Yeah, that means another topic on the rapier may be needed, but I see that format getting much more traffic than a sticky. ~Das Tip.it User since 2001
  21. I can't exactly say I feel I was being critical by "lashing out" exactly. I've never in a decade of this forum in it's various formats seen a group of users cling on to past transgressions with such a sorry and disrespectful attitude. I've seen plenty and numerous splits in a decade (I was part of one myself once) and new sites start up. And I really feel at this point the eternal pissing match over the scriptsl (what else would you call it exactly?) is pointless. If they want to work out the over-moderation problem - it's not hard to not act like a total and complete ass and work on it seeking compromise. But currently it seems like it's more like "our sig's are gone and we can't advertise on a higher traffic site, wahhhh" than anything else for the past 15 pages. As for censoring myself, the forum actually censored me - I didn't censor myself. You also obviously have some stake since you have near as many posts there as here ;) ~Das
  22. Enough. As someone with insider knowledge, and dare i say someone who had the ability to see every facet behind the wall for close to three years, I can't help but feel the rage at Jimmy_Jim is misguided and ignorant. As far as moderator actions that he did to my knowledge on that magical 14th/15th date. I remember two spambot Ban's - some forum game stuff and thats about it. I investigated his "actions" prior to resignation and found that ignorantly actions of others were lumped towards him. Even IF IT WAS HIM HYPOTHETICALLY - his actions or whoever [bleep]ed up that day, really don't matter in terms of his promotion to administrator. Why? I've had the pleasure, or curse, of being "behind" the wall and seeing every silly little detail for over three years, I was part of the team that hired, trained, and promoted jimmy from a local to a supermod. He may of made some mistakes - every administrator on this forum probably has, I know although most people point to me as a positive force, I can only say that I too made many mistakes in general over 3 years and would change how I did several things. if I could go back over my 3 years. Jimmy is dedicated, user driven and a guy who cares about making tip.it a better community. He's got a good head on his shoulders and is a fair guy. What's done - is done, blood is without a doubt metaphorically on both parties hands to varying degrees over different instances. He who without sin cast the first stone. The past oh 15 or 20 pages, It's mainly been raging [puncture]s verus's a staff who is trying to maintain an integrity of the game too few people give a flying [bleep] about. As someone who has once all but bent over backwards to try to help smooth over the miscommunications - your attitude has turned me - as a user who is browsing for the "lulz" - off completely. The script situation is messed up, but overall to protect the integrity of the game - I do support the choice to limit exposure to those script's until Jagex clarifies them and personally can't say it's a bad call. it's old fashioned, a bit heavy handed, but hey, Tip.it Staff probably cares more about keeping the game cheat free than Jagex does. As for the wait time - I can say i'm a bit surprised, but it's not the first time a "big" response has taken time from them. What I don't get - is why are you guys are still here. You're butthurt over "the 15th" still think tip.it staff is on a downward spiral of whatever adjective you want to use - and still here fighting like it's life and death. To be bluntly critical, I think the only reason you're half as upset with the sig removals is it killed your only real advertising for your site. i''ve looked around on a fake name - it's not that active and bustling with life as most new startups are typically. Personally I'd like to see the script [cabbage] dropped (an answer will come soon enough, i'd wager, and until then - it's a giant pissing contest) and the discussion actually focus on other examples of overmoderation if they exist. Why do I say *if* they exist? in my three years, I probably handled oh 10 or 15 complaints of biased moderation. Thats it. I'd say of those 15 cases at most, maybe 1 or 2 were biased on our part. We addressed those cases swiftly and looking back at the users who made the complaints - I can tell you they are not bitter and as angsty/angry as you guys are. I know someone will flame the [bleep] out of me for this, I'm aware that this view won't be popular, but it's my view. I'm not saying it to kiss ass to come back, because to be honest, coming back is one of the last things right now I want to do, it's a time consuming, [cabbage]ty, thankless job that eats up your free time and stresses you the [bleep] out. I'm sure if I was masochistic or stupid enough to want to come back, they'd take me regardless of my views on this subject. Lastly in closing. Y_Guy doesn't play runescape anymore - But I can tell you as far as clans go - he's one of the most knowledgeable, dedicated, hardworking son's of a gun i've met. If I was running a buisness, I'd hire him without hesitation. He's a professional and by far, Him, Nobody, Laikrob, kim and everyone who has ever been clan staff were beyond amazing. I can safely say with confidence when it comes for me being a part of that team - i was always the weakest link. am i putting myself down? Nope - I'd say I was pretty damn useful and awesome - but it's a TEAM effort, and as a whole, the tip.it team is user minded and very concerned with making this the most kick ass place ever. That goes from Crew to Tet to Clans to Editorals to Mod's because together they are one. It's a team of volunteers, worldwide. not perfect, not flawless, but overall, some of the best people i've ever managed, and i get paid to manage people in real life and often at times found the group here, more professional, dedicated and hardworking. And these guys work lots of long hours in free tme for free. for the love of the community. ~Das Tip.it User 2001-2011
  23. It's never changed anything in the past, although it would be fun to take part in one and be a part of RS history. If people really want to show Jagex that botting is a serious problem, then all the members need to cancel their memberships until something is done. That would hit them in the one place that seems to matter: their pocketbook. How does something like a riot get organized, I wonder? People have to care about the issue, when it comes to botting - they wont.
  24. One of Tip.it's most dedicated and better SuperMod's. It's a well deserved promotion and should have happened much sooner. I'm quite confident that the forum is in good hands with Jimmy Jim. It makes me feel better about resigning knowing he's an admin. ~DaS

    1) Trim usually, i'm flexbible and take requests based on who may be down there. 2)No i use the Gillette Fusion Proglide for a clean shave. You can buy the blade/handle for about $15-20 - Blade Refills are usually $25-30 for 8 blades. I find I cannot get a close shave with anything electric. I'm a business professional, so I have to look professional. I probably own 3-4 electric razors I never use due to the lackluster shave. I'm a Gillette [bleep] actually. I use the foam shaving cream they have as well. I rock a goatee - and to trim it and keep it looking good I used a Wahl Trimmer, I bought it about 5 years ago, so no clue on the model. but it serves me well. Here's an example Trying to shave without cream generally is alot rougher unless it's a new blade.
