Well, I clipped your post a little because I wanted to quote it, and I'm still scratching my own head. A lot of goodbyes and history and I'm not too sure what else, but this seemed like the meat and potatoes of the whole thing. If I've quoted and read this correctly, you let someone you didn't know very well log onto runescape on your computer, even though he had his laptop right there... You said you're a senior at UC Berkley, so I'm wondering if you have been hanging around with an 18-22 year old (college age) cracker of accounts or if something else is the case. I'm really not satisfied that I'm hearing the whole truth. Now aside from that huge lapse in judgment (which is either A. letting a stranger play runescape on your pc or B. letting someone you know to be an account stealer - which you said was not the case, i.e. you didn't know) you decided to push your luck a little further, and put yourself in a position to take money from that account. While that seems a bit to me like a set-up, maybe in retrospect it does to you too. I'm just really wondering about this mysterious "person that came over to show you a lvl 91 account". I reiterate that there has got to be more to the story than we're hearing. Good luck getting your account back if you're not guilty of being anything more than clueless in a dangerous situation, yadda yadda yadda Your oldschool . and as a poster I know I respect you, I have been around since july 2001, and Can say offhand I cant remember you doing anything bad and being a player of a good reputation but going to agree with lime, something just doesn't add up

There's a hole in my pocket, and it lead to jagex

Hi, Im a college student, I work for an internet service provider making 9.50 an hour, Monday-Friday for 25-35 hours a week with a full load of courses to boot. You must not have to worry about car payments, insurance, cell phone bill, or the such, overall 5 a month or 15 a month is VERY easy to swing if you can work and manage your money at all . hi, i do have a car, insurance, and a cell phone, but as stated, i only have a minimum wage job, and currently am not able to find a better one that also works around my classes. Ever consider a student loan? Its almost impossible to work and pay and keep going (Tried it for 3 years, didn't want debt, student loan made my life alot easier - interest isn't bad either) I have no clue where you work or live, but I would strongly suggest seeing if a call center is in the area, most have a flexible night shift you could work. I learned to build my classes around my job too. so never any night classes for me -

RuneScape's Reputation - What Is It Like For You?
das replied to Skully's topic in General Discussion
everyone knows, At work I am told it sucks, but 7 of my 8 coworkers play WoW, but they respect my accomplishments, although they make jabs at parts of the game "Oh danny boy is raising his making fire level guys". In college, No one really cares, of course its not a priority to tell them either, when they ask what I do, I say I play a mmorpg Online and they just say oh ok. In highschool it wasnt taboo either, infact a fellow nerd did not believe in 2002 i was a major tip.it troll so he posted "does anyone know das1330???" he goes to class with me and claims hes famous. 17 replies in 8 minutes. Booya. Overall in my experience, WoW is on the same grounds as rs. your going to get teased of playing either, or you wont -
Lightning Clan Chat - Perhaps it's time to move on?
das replied to The Observer's topic in General Discussion
Nothing because it is unofficial? That's my point. Yet you miss mine If it was offical, or someone wanted to support it before, dont you think someone else who *was* active or at least cared to be so would of set up an unofficial chat? -

I think alot of you lot forget it is an unoffical chat that is not endorsed by us. (I may be wrong) and although I speak for either admin, I doubt either would give you a a runescape name away for an unofficial chat. -
Working for an internet service provider doing phone support. I play rs at least 5 hours a night AND get paid to play runescape? Could I quit? Probably not fully, Because I would still post etc. but since playing since july 2001 , I am not dying to grab the level ( I sat 3k from 98 hp for 2 days. lol ) And also what would I do at work?

see this is where I disagree, I have been around as long as adam, and as long as fook (fook may have a good edge on me on time though) ,I can see the viewpoints of both sides, Adam arguements has it mertie, and he is right, compared to where we were we are Fine and doing well, and fook has his points that we can improve. Overall I think we are making progress and One thing I would like to see here especially is less locks, i believe in a proactive tactic of pm the user and try to avoid locking, Locking just seems so final. Fook has a point in the aspect in that the wall of text (while good) is going to scare the heck out of the average teenage user who has to actually read something long and intelligent. although I think fooks blame triangle is wrong, its to me users> one of the biggest things is the community has changed, The days of Vas, rsn lead, the other guys like sadpoorguy, outlaw rudy, salty ant are gone, although a good majority of the oldschool trolls and posters are quite active in off topic. Overall, I am optimistic we can improve and get better, and from how fell we far, where we are at now, is not bad at all, it can get better, but it can be worse. I would know, I was around. My question to you is fook, if you could improve some key things, or make some changes, what would *You* do ? I am very interested in what you would do, as I beleive they would be very similar to my theologies and as an oldie, i would love to see if your perspective differs from mine. with Respect , *Passes the Bhang to fook * ~Das1330 Wanderer/Vulture/Keeper of forgotten Honour

RuneScape on Miniclip, Jagex's worst decision ever?
das replied to JJGM's topic in General Discussion
In terms of community? possibly, But it has been there for a LONG time, what it has done is generate ALOT of people who might get mom or dad to PAY for them that generates lots of revenue for jagex so the game can hire more customer support or update more, Adults get bored at desk job's too, I have met quite a few miniclip adults -
Magic has been around since the game started, it was an original stat of course. However in the start of runescape, there were two types of magic. Alot of the early classic quests were magical based or had some sort of magical properties. Demon Slayer, Imp Catcher, Witches potion, plus areas like stonehendge below varrock, wizards toward near draynor most of the game's landscape and folk were affected by magic. Since you must have runes to cast magic, and the entire game is affected by it , it makes sense the LandSCAPE is affected by runes.

Now guys. no sense in making her look any worse than she already is by stating that... I am active in classic, but I got wiped.due to inactivity, so I may not be allowed in rsc...I can honestly say rs2 is not that bad

I post this as a longtime user, because after all, are mods not users first moderators second ? I Think tip.it is slowly but surely coming out of a rut it entered years ago for various reasons. Old timers know my view and perspectives, and I can say tip.it has risen greatly from how far it fell long ago... I will say this as a user, the current staff is much better than it has been in years, and should be capable of bringing tip.it back to its glory days. This forum is what we both staff and users make of it. I think improvements can be worked on by users and staff for the greater good to make us #1, I have used tip.it since Late 2001 or early 2002. I have seen it as the greatest ran runescape forum, to a forum that was ran downhill and many old timers like fook could say was poorly ran. I for one love reading this post because I like seeing peoples criticisms and compliments

I carry around 30 rune sets, I used to have 45, but since I can smith it, im really not concerned about keeping it in the bank. I have found for some reason no matter how many times you die, rune larges accumulate like crazy :P I don't mage nor range.

I agree. I do not feel the thread should be locked or moved. It is not an earth shattering discussion, but it is not recruitment or direct advertising, so I dont see a problem with it. :-w

I agree with the last two, but was the bad spelling just a cheap shot a Bufo? I don't think it was. You have probably seen the clan leaders out there who talk like dis all da time and itz cuz they think itz sooo kewl. Who would respect that? I give Bufo some credit for at least trying to fix his problem. Correct. I work in a field where I do both phone and email support for an ISP, I am required by my job to have fairly strong writing skills, and I have problems reading "l33t speak" and generally if I have to read the post more than once to understand the intent of the post, I get annoyed. I would like to think in a written world of forums and chat rooms, your words are a vast majority of your self reflection, someone who uses txt speak (cell phone speak drives me nuts) or l33t speak, is automatically a leader I have no desire to follow. Spelling used to be a weakness of mine, but research papers, and from comments from clan members and my job forced me to acquire those skills. I feel if I am to follow you in a clan, you must be able to present your ideas in a clear and logical manner. MY boss says an email with typos is sloppy and generally makes you look to be perceived unintelligent. so I carry the same beliefs. If you emailed your isp and got a mistyped response back, what would you think? If a clan leader is going to make a serious announcement, recruitment post or anything officious, it best damned be spell checked and sound logical (Unless English is not the native language and then thats a new story) or else it feels like the leader does not care enough to bother writing up a professional post and thus does not care about his/her clan. I did the same practice during my 3 years of leadership of clans, So I expect the same, professional and lots of effort into running a very nice top notch clan.

Honor, Honesty, Intregity, intelligence and a clear purpose of what they are leading me towards. I also cannot follow someone who has poor spelling, bad manners or an inflated ego.

10 September 2007 Herbal remedies and Achievement Diary
das replied to Taito2004's topic in General Discussion
Lmao so the only noticable advantage of new A.D. is the ability to wear new and awsome " Varrock armour"? ( well we had a good half year of nice updates so i wont start [bleep] around) Yep. I didn't expect anything remarkable, as there is only so much potential with such a noobish area as Varrock. Way to go, Miniclippers. You chose a winner with this one! Mining 2x coal is the most useful thing in this update, and that is gotten from the EASY diary. This update reeks of fail. You got the god wars dungeon a couple of weeks ago. So just, SHUT UP :s If your arguing this even a top 5 update of the month, your hurting, because it clearly just sucks, the reward is rather uninspiring for the time involved, move your house? wtf does that *Really* have to do with varrock, Change your house trim? Nice money drain. The frem areas would of been nicer. God wars was made for high levels sure, And perhaps you are unable to kill a boss, but what real achievemnts lay within this? they may as well made it a real challange and said "Complete all challange scrolls" After all, hey that is in the champions guild, and made a *Real* reward for it. But alas the sound of the miniclip generation crying out to the stars screaming "its no fair I have to kill 15k imps for a challange scroll!!!" is more painful then hearing high levels moan about a worthless lame diary I would of thought this months quest was the miniclip geared update, but dang.... This entire update just makes me say wtf. <- Wow, you can buy clothes, such an achievement escape from what exactly? a moss giant, ah such a rush of danger...*yawn* - Woo , a useless quest area, is now useful one last time! Has anyone ever seriously bragged about teleporting to varrock? Not only does this update suck, but it's a money drain to buy useless mahogany for my already furnished house. Perhaps the only real achievment in the medium tasks This isn't classic anymore, Oziachs shop is no achievement either. Waste of an addy bar, I wonder if it will let me count a rune kite as an achivement instead I like my house the way it is, But now im going to pay to change it for a useless reward? then change it back? Quality achievment right there. isnt this done in your house outside of varrock? I seriously will not tear down my gold leaf lectern for an achievement Drop an item, pick one up from talking to an npc? Not hard at all, rather sad infact The only way you can defend this update is if your stats are so low, you cant do much else. -
On a personal level as someone who once considered you a friend and a clan leader, Perhaps I can say I never knew you too well, and what I did know of you and thought of you... was replaced by bad dealings through the wanderers and some dealings you had with very close friends who I consider very dear to me.. If this is my final farewell, Let me drop any resentment I may have to say best wishes in life instead of nothing at all.

Wooden Shield For A Santa?
das replied to bbalking's topic in BlogScape (Ongoing Progress Reports and Goals)
I read the whole thread and noticed how quick and harsh you were to defend yourself with names like idiot and other insults almost every time someone said you posting here was "cheating" or that the trades were very unbalanced etc .. Never once did I call you an idiot and I only agreed with a very large community voice that you seem to be fishing for publicity Judging from the replies i read. you started on this thread with a wooden shield and due to generous donations and no real trading or merchanting involved you got to where you are now, had you of not posted, would you of even hit the 30k mark? let alone the 300k mark? In fact if you paid attention I gave you a link which shows "trading up" except it was done in the real world and those people got deals often because "Collectors needed cash". Thus the only way for you get a santa to my understanding is three ways 1) you're going to use this post hoping for very kind and unbalanced "Trades" so you can brag in the future "oh but I traded a wooden shield for a santa. When in reality, You got one gave to you by virtually swapping lower end junk (in comparison a rune large is junk, compared to a kite, and even an easter egg is a junk offer for one santa) for your santa, making your goal a hollow victory and nothing really to brag about, unless you are doing this because you desire a santa or want a free one, then you have accomplished your goal, but this current trend to me is nothing worth bragging about. 2) You're going to get tired of posting bump because people have no desire to support someone based on the attitude displayed in the previous posts to any naysayers or the fact they are too poor and unable to help you leaving you with a 30 page thread that gets "bumped" because you have either burned your bridges or your fanclub is too poor. 3) you are going to wisen up and realize you do not need this forum to get the santa because you take the effort to actually "trade" up and get what you want. and then when you post a say for example 700+ trade log in getting your santa...people will respect you and you will have something to brag about, But at the current rate i see this as nothing more than a oh, i'm posting to get a santa and attempting to look like i am a legendary trader when instead you ride off of people's kindness which in my view, is nothing to brag about If you do decide to keep swapping with what you have currently you have two real options, Hoping for desperate people needing that TT item for a set or costume room hoping they overpay due to need or converting that 300k into GP and using it to buy small "Deals" of players needing to sell something badly. -
Wooden Shield For A Santa?
das replied to bbalking's topic in BlogScape (Ongoing Progress Reports and Goals)
The value increase is a bit sad and its more like donating than actually trading. Basically the way I see it is you want a free Santa, and don't want the trading to be hard or long, a 10 gp item into a 30k item...which is 3000 times more valueable to a 300k (10x more value) item is no where near small increases, in fact its a massive increase percentage wise. Beckett magazine did a similar thing with sports card's turning a $10 bill into a 10k+ collection, the link is here http://www.beckett.com/estore/news/?s=1 ... ett&a=4228 That is worth reading about, reading about "oh, I traded a wooden shield for a large than sara kite then guilded legs to a Santa is something no one will care about reading. -
Clan Growth over the Summer: Which clan surprised you?
das replied to PDJ's topic in Clan Discussions
Your kidding me right? VR have been crashing fights for a while now. But yeah i get what you mean. I expected VR to do better than just crash and be No honor, No honor bs has been a bad problem this summer, The fact that the top 5 appears more balanced as well was a bit surprising. -
It was a video made by gunar , Original Would of been prescapeboard too probably, on the black tip.it boards This is all I got of it .
